Numerous sources, including this Baltimore Sun article, confirm that LeRoy Carhart, notorious late-term abortionist, will join Germantown Reproductive Health Services Inc at 13233 Executive Park Terrace (off Wisteria Drive). He is scheduled to begin December 6th.
Now why is he coming here all the way from Nebraska? Because Nebraska has a new law that forbids abortions after 20 weeks. Maryland, on the other hand, is one of the most abortion-friendly states in the nation. Moreover, Montgomery County is one of the most left-wing areas of Maryland. A "case-in-point" can be found in its law to basically gag pro-life pregnancy centers in the county. I blogged extensively on that last December. Go to those archives and watch some of the clips. Some of the Council members (George Leventhal in particular) behaved downright arrogantly towards the pro-lifers who testified.
By the way - Carhart is doing late-term abortions, but he has no hospital privileges! Can we see the increased dangers to women here, not to mention the babies?

Black Friday In Tyson's Corner, Virginia
Shoppers swarming into the mall there to get early-bird bargains for their Christmas shopping received a reminder of their duties as decent human beings. Christmas is about the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, who came as a baby. Today, many other babies, thousands every day, are being slaughtered via abortion. These shoppers received a much-needed challenge to shake them out of complaceny and hopefully to stir their consciences. About 20 pro-lifers showed pictures of the true nature of abortion, in what is commonly called a Face the Truth tour. Yes the pictures are gory, but - that's the nature of abortion. As Peter Shinn said in the video, if anyone is interested in starting such an effort in their locality, please contact Pro-Life Unity or Defend Life. Alternatively, you may also contact Joe Scheidler's Pro-Life Action League.

David Letterman! Listen To Your Mother!
Thanks to Newsbusters for this humorous look at one of mainstream media's prophets of "global warming doom and gloom"! Click here if you can't see embedded video.
Letterman shakes his head in disappointment on camera, but we can only imagine Mrs. Letterman doing the same at her left-wing son's parroting of progressive nonsense.

Holy Father Laments "Professional Catholics"
(Thanks to Catholic Citizens of Illinois for this lead)
In his new book "Light of the World", Pope Benedict XVI says, "The bureaucracy is spent and tired ... It is sad that there are what you might call professional Catholics who make a living on their Catholicism, but in whom the spring of faith flows only faintly, in a few scattered drops."
This is to be found in the article "Why are so many of the professional jobs in the Church held by dissidents?" Please read it and consider that both the author and the Holy Father could well be speaking of those who occupy the offices of the various national Catholic conferences, such as our own United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. This blog (and others) have revealed the research done on the various sordid connections that many USCCB officials have with progressive and even atheistic organizations. We make special mention of the work done by the Vortex in this regard. Now the Holy Father appears to be adding his voice to ours.
Might we have stumbled onto a reason why the L'Osservato Romano may have made its strangely selective and deceptive leak of the Holy Father's book? Might it well have been a deliberate attempt to discredit what the Holy Father says in that book?

Former Muslim Confirms From Koran That "Allah" Is Not A Synonym For God
Yoo hoo! Cardinal McCarrick, please take note! Allah is indeed a false idol, NOT to be confused with the One True God!
Also in dire need of such education is the current staff of the John Paul II Cultural Center for allowing their facilities to be used to host "interfaith" deception. I note, though, that soon some Dominican Sisters will be assuming ownership. Hopefully that sort of foolishness will not be repeated there.
I address this, too, to the staff of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, particularly after they allowed the Interfaith Concert Debacle to occur a few weeks ago. By the way - did you ever purify and/or rededicate the Shrine after all that idolotrous blasphemy?

Michelle Obama Absolves Us!
To be specific, she absolves us of the sin of thanksgiving gluttony - particularly of eating too much pie! Read http://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2010/11/24/Obama-doesnt-think-about-Palin-he-says/UPI-65661290620356/
Here are the wondrous statements from Mrs Messiah, at the end of this UPI article.
Michelle Obama said it's fine to eat what you want on Thanksgiving. "Don't worry about how much you eat. Just enjoy it," she said. "This is the time. Have pie."
Got that? We could have eaten anything that we wanted last Thursday! Why? Because Michelle said we could, that's why! Wow! I wonder if that applied to trans-fats! Does that mean that Happy Meals, with toys, returned to California McDonalds?
Then she said, "have pie". Next thing you know, she'll be saying "let them eat cake!" Oh, joy!!
But... on a serious note, Thanksgiving is over! Does that now mean we cannot eat what we want? Does anyone realize how arrogant these statements are? We're big boys and girls, aren't we? Since when do their highnesses have any business to even pretend to extend to us permission to do what is our right, anyway? Did Mrs Messiah just tip her hand in a big way??

The Entire Dolan Interview On Fox News
To answer a commenter's question about the context of Archbishop Dolan's "whatever" remarks about God, here is the entire interview from Fox News. http://video.foxnews.com/v/4433547/is-superman-catholic. I think it's clear that the Vortex did not take anything out of context. That segment seems short because it was short. I will say this though, as the Archbishop spoke about parochial schools, he made some very pertinent points about them being under local control and being subject to parental accountability - of course they're now closing right and left around the DC area. He made a point of stating that the statistics show the superior results of parochial schools not only to public schools, but these so-called "charter schools". In the DC area, many parish schools have been turned over to DC and are now charter schools. In other words, education in DC is going downhill very quickly.
I wouldn't classify Fox News with the rest of mainstream media. By the latter I mean ABC, NBC, CBS who seem to tow the progressive party line. Fox News does not, to the undisguised chagrin of the Messiah Most Miserable.

Archbishop Dolan: God Is "Him, Her, Whatever You Want"?????
Well this didn't take long! Just a week or two after he was elected president of the USCCB, Archbishop Timothy Dolan is expressing some real confusion about the personhood of God Almighty. God is "whatever"? Gee - why not just resurrect a golden calf? No, we worship the Blessed Trinity - God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Note that Father and Son are masculine. It's the truth, like it or lump it.
This does not bode well for the USCCB. I reiterate my strong suggestion to dismantle that entire mess.
Now here's an interesting question. Do you think this heretical statement will garner 1% of the attention that the misquote of the Holy Father drew? Again, my fellow bloggers - we need to step up to this plate now!

Mainstream Catholic Media Mess
Michael Voris of the Vortex nails this right on the head with L'Osservatore Romano, the Vatican's own newspaper. Not only did it deliberately disobey Vatican instructions by releasing snippets from the Pope's new book, but it has made brainless claims such as the Simpsons (that's a cartoon, folks!) being Catholic and praising Michael Jackson and the Beatles.
Actually, there's quite a list of Catholic mainstream media that needs some cleaning up. Certainly the Catholic News Service and the National Catholic Reporter have some progressives spewing forth nonsense. Sadly, many of the archdiocesan newspapers suffer the same maladies. To the extent that they are directly controlled by their respective chanceries, the staff of those newspapers may have reduced culpability - but not completely eliminated. I speak of those publications that insist on praising pro-abortion Catholic bigwigs and being utterly silent about doctrinal matters such as contraception, etc. Yes, the Catholic Standard is included in that mix!
The statements above, and this Vortex video, make achingly plain why alternative sources for Catholic news are needed - such as this blog and those listed on the right tool bar and the Vortex itself. Click here if you can't see embedded video.

President Reagan's Thanksgiving Address In 1985
As you listen to a real President speak, listen closely to what he lauds about this country:
1) Freedom to worship God as we deem best
2) Freedom to speak our minds
3) Unfettered and vigorous press
4) Freedom to make government abide by the limits we deem just
5) Freedom to travel throughout the land
Understand that everyone of these liberties that were once taken for granted are under concerted, deliberate attack by the progressive eltes, led by the Messiah Most Miserable himself.
And yes, President Reagan explicitly thanks God. Yesterday must have been such a nightmare for the ACLU.

George Washington's 1789 Thanksgiving Proclamation
(Quickly! Call the ACLU! There are a gajillion references in this thing to God! Washington even talks fo the duty of all nations to obey His will! Eeek! Eeek! So much for "separation of church and state"!)
Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me to "recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:"
Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enable to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.
And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shown kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.
Given under my hand, at the city of New York, the 3d day of October, A.D. 1789.

Breaking - Pope To Canonize Darth Vader
Of course the headline is ludicrous. Equally ludicrous is the notion that the Holy Father has ever given the green light to condom usage. Read this analogy from Inside Catholic.
For a more in-depth analysis at what might have contributed to the unnecessary (and mainstream-media-contrived) hubbub, please read this piece by Father Joseph Fessio, as posted by my colleague Last Papist Standing. He delves into some of the translation issues. During that interview, the Pope was apparently speaking in his native German. Then it was translated into Italian and then English. He also delves into matters of moral philosophy. That is an area in which my knowledge is quite weak, and I daresay that is the case for even many good Catholics today (back when schools actually taught the Faith and didn't play with "gender-blind housing", Catholics actually knew their faith, but that is its own rant).
Some of my friends are quite flummoxed over this matter. I think this is a result of being so hurt and frustrated at the very real betrayals inflicted by so many of our bishops. However, I beg you all to calm your frayed nerves and read these posts. Janet Smith did an excellent job; I linked to her last Sunday and I suggest another look at that.

Georgetown University Never Fails - To Disappoint And Scandalize
Thanks to the Cardinal Newman Society for alerting us to this double-header by DC's Georgetown University.
First we have "gender-blind housing". No doubt you have guessed what that is all about. The Hoya announced that university officials would be willing to discuss this "gender-blind housing" that would “not take into account gender when assigning housing to students.” Ostensibly the reason given is to be "accepting" of LGBTQ students. However, we know what else would be happening. Boys and girls, can we say "shack-up and fornication with the blessings of the university"? We're essentially talking about university officials not only condoning but actually facilitating mortal sin amongst its students.
Second, we hear that Catholics for Equality is all atwitter about the USCCB elections. They are worried - just worried sick! - that the elections of Archbishops Dolan and Kurtz "signals increased Vatican influence in US politics." Huh?? How do they draw that conclusion? To tip their hands a little more, they let loose with this nonsense: "this election broadens the gap between the people of the Catholic Church in America and the increasingly uncharitable demands of the Pope in Rome." Read the CFE's press release - it's a hoot. They wax indignant about "the Catholic hierarchy’s national campaign to deny marriage and family rights to gay and lesbian citizens." Imagine that! Catholic bishops defending and promulgating Catholic dogma and morals? What is the world coming to? Next they'll be telling dissidents like Catholics for Equality to repent and go to Confession or be excommunicated! The horror!
Saint Ignatius of Loyala, please pray for your wayward sons who are leading many souls to their eternal damnation. Pray for their repentance, lest they also careen towards their own eternal doom.

Abortion-Birth Vote - A Sham And A Shame
Remember the uproar caused by that very immature couple in Minnesota? The husband just confessed that the whole gig, website and all, was a hoax. The Lifenews article alludes to Pete Arnold being "prolife". If that be the case, with friends like that, who needs enemies? It also says that Alisha favors abortion - but who knows? They apparently never intended to abort their little boy. While we can be glad of that, all I can think is what will happen when the poor little fellow finds out what a circus his dopey parents made of his gestation and birth.
The TSA Molestations - Will We Be Dignified People Or Docile Sheeple?
Much has been written about the defacto sexual assaults that are being conducted at various airports - all for our safety, of course. I'll post a few links below that I think give good input.
http://lesfemmes-thetruth.blogspot.com/2010/11/while-blue-shirted-tsa-agents-grope-and.html
http://lesfemmes-thetruth.blogspot.com/2010/11/tsa-sexual-assault-children-women-old.html
http://www.newsmax.com/US/Huckabee-scanners-Obama-airport/2010/11/23/id/377991?s=al&promo_code=B2DA-1
Let's be very clear. This is sexual assault, plain and simple - assault ordered by the Messiah Most Miserable's Mindless Minions. Janet Napolitano seems to be one of the masterminds behind it all (if you can call whatever she has between her ears a "mind").
On one level this amounts to a gross violation of the Fourth Amendment, which prohibits unreasonable search and seizure. And yes, feeling the genitals of toddlers and the breasts of elderly women, along with x-rays showing the naked body is unreasonable by any standards of decency.
For those of us who understand human dignity and the essential virtue of modesty, the TSA assaults are much more abhorrent. We can never allow our modesty to be violated in such a manner. Recall basic moral theology. We must look at a give act and evaluate the kind of act that it is. It is either moral or immoral on its face. The motivation behind an immoral act, be it ever so benign or even noble, cannot make an immoral act into a moral act. The treatment being foisted upon travelers by the TSA is inherently immoral.
I for one am heartened by the uproar this has caused. It is evidence that there still remains some sense of our dignity as people and our rights to be secure in our persons. Some on high are at least making noises that signify that they are hearing us - particularly after this past election. I say keep it up and make the Federal bureaucrats damned remorseful that they ever dared come up with such reprehensible nonsense. They may well reverse it.
On the other hand, I am dismayed to be hearing some signs of passivity and even acceptance of such affront to our dignity. Just tonight I was listening to Sean Hannity voice sympathy to the TSA workers who were "just doing their job". Not so! They can no more be excused for molesting people than the rank-and-file Nazi soldier could be excused for herding people into the gas chambers. "I was just following orders!" was rightly rejected as an excuse at the Nuremberg trials, and it is no more acceptable today.
Then there are some who opine that such "inconvenience" is necessary to ensure that we're all safe. Safe!??!? From whom? Having one's private areas groped and squeezed is NOT safety; it is the very opposite. It is a most egregious assault on one's person and is inherently degrading. It is impossible to overstate the psychological damages, both to the hapless traveler and the worker.
We seem to have forgotten our dignity as human beings, created in the image and likeness of God. Please go to the right toolbar and pull up that copy of the Declaration of Independence. The Protestants who penned it had a much more inate sense of whom God created them to be. I'd also like to remind us all of the quote attributed to Benjamin Franklin, "They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." They also forfeit both in actuality. Remember the speech of Patrick Henry? Read the whole thing, but especially the last paragraph. How about this from Samuel Adams? Ladies and gentlemen, this is our heritage. Will we allow it to be treated with so little regard by the Messiah? More importantly, do we take our heritage seriously? If we don't, the terrorists - and the progressives, have won.

Congrats To Archbishop Dolan - BUT..
It's time for a reality check. As Michael Voris states, that election was no harbinger of improvement at the USCCB. Click here to watch if you can't see embedded video.
I would say that perhaps the USCCB has outlived its usefulness. Truth be told, though, I don't believe it ever had any usefulness. It's time to consign it to the dung heap of history and put the money used to run it to truly beneficial uses.

More On Condom Flap
As I posted a few days ago, the Holy Father, in an interview, remarked that a male prostitute's usage of condoms might be a sign of some awakening sense of awareness of the harm of his lifestyle. Naturally, the mainstream media, dominated by atheistic progressives, glommed onto this tiny excerpt from his interview and distorted its meaning, to extrapolate from it the notion that the Holy Father favors condom use in the act of sodomy. Common sense rules against such extrapolation of meaning. In all fairness to the mainstream media, though, some well-meaning Catholics have been likewise hoodwinked. Author Randy Engel appears to be one of those so deceived. My friend at Les Femmes published Engel's statement, so I need not reproduce it here. I will quote the opening sentence, "Having woken this morning, as if from a bad dream, to the reality of Benedict XVI's remarks in favor of condom use for male prostitutes engaging in sodomy," Where, oh where, in that interview did the Holy Father ever say that he's "in favor of condom use"? I can't find it either. He simply stated a possibility of what said usage might signify in the mind of the hypothetical male prostitute.
To take that simple statement and misinterpret that as approval of condom usage is, quite frankly, ridiculous. I realize there's lament that this statement is fodder for misinterpretation. However, in the eyes of the mainstream media, anything the Holy Father says is fair game for misconstruing. So what??? That's where we of the alternative media come in! The mainstream media, in making these wild-eyed statements, have effectively slandered the Holy Father. No big surprise there, as such is par for the course with them. But - will we fall into the same trap by believing the Holy Father is making allowances for condom usage? Read the interview again, because the context clearly indicates that he isn't!
I'd like now to profide some additional input from some other. Here is Judie Brown's statement. The article that I cited yesterday, published by Renew America, was by HLI America's executive director, Jenn Giroux. Today Michael Voris of the Vortex weighed in. Click here if you can't see embedded video.

A Politically Incorrect Commercial Banned By Mainstream Media
We all know that the mainstream media would have banned Missy Smith's ads that told the truth about abortion. They were constrained to air those because they are forbidden to ban the commercials of candidates for Federal office.
They have no compunctions against banning the following clip by Citizens Against Government Waste. Before some viewers kvetch about this not dealing with Catholicism per se, let me state that the truth is the truth, so deal with it. Click here if you can't see embedded video.

Garbage By Any Other Name Remains...
And the answer is ... GARBAGE!
At Mass today, we were told that the second collection was for the "FUND for Human Development".
FUND??? Do they think we all just jumped off the turnip truck?? Who do they think they're fooling, especially when the Catholic Standard has been falling all over itself trying to put a pretty face on that viper of an enterprise, using its real name "Catholic Campaign for Human Development"?
Needless to say, there was not one red penny in my envelope. Instead, they'll receive something much more valuable - some truth regarding the CCHD. Read the little letter below.
To Whom This May Concern:
As you can plainly see, there is no money in this envelope. Not only do I refuse to contribute to the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD), but I urge its abolishment.
Ironically, the two articles in the recent Catholic Standard issues, undoubtedly published to put a pretty face on the CCHD, offer evidence of the harm that CCHD has wrought over its years. In both articles, a funds recipient was touted as doing great work in Washington. This organization is the Washington Interfaith Network (WIN). A brief perusal of the WIN website reveals that it is an affiliate of the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF), which was directly founded by Saul Alinsky himself. If you read Alinsky’s book, “Rules for Radicals” (and yes, I read it), you will discover that his aim was bring about a socialistic revolution in this country. He was an atheist who had no problems declaring that the ends can justify the means. So there you have it – the local CCHD is funding an Alinskyite organization. While WIN may be affecting some benefit, greater harm is being done by lending legitimacy to these organizations. If nothing else, they are training grounds for individuals such as Barack Hussein Obama. I initially thought it a pity that the CCHD can’t get past the stench of these organizations until I realized that such stench defines the essence of what the CCHD actually is, and what it was founded to be by its founder, Alinsky friend and disciple Msgr Jack Egan. A more accurate usage of the acronym “CCHD” might be Catholics Conned by Humanistic Deception.
In general, we need to do away with this concept of donating to a “middleman” who will in turn decide who gets the dollars. Catholics need to take personal responsibility for the direction of their own charitable dollars and not to punt that responsibility to some other organization, even if that organization has the word “Catholic” in their name. My donation dollars will be going to organizations whom I’ve personally vetted and who will carry out both the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy and who will promulgate sound Catholic doctrine on the life issues.

The Pseudo-Condom Conundrum
All the liberal press and progressive media are in a state of ecstatic elation over what they think is a major capitulation on the part of the Holy Father regarding the usage of condoms. As is to be suspected, some remarks of his were clearly taken out of context (perhaps deliberately) so that the libertines of our culture could further justify their perverted lusts. They're all atwitter over alleged acknowledgement of the use of condoms by male prostitutes.
Catholic World Report gives the complete context of the Pope's remarks, which were really a small part of an interview that he granted. I'll quote below from Chapter 11 of "Light of the World", also found on Catholic World Report.
The Pope - "This means that the sheer fixation on the condom implies a banalization of sexuality, which, after all, is precisely the dangerous source of the attitude of no longer seeing sexuality as the expression of love, but only a sort of drug that people administer to themselves. This is why the fight against the banalization of sexuality is also a part of the struggle to ensure that sexuality is treated as a positive value and to enable it to have a positive effect on the whole of man’s being. There may be a basis in the case of some individuals, as perhaps when a male prostitute uses a condom, where this can be a first step in the direction of a moralization, a first assumption of responsibility, on the way toward recovering an awareness that not everything is allowed and that one cannot do whatever one wants. But it is not really the way to deal with the evil of HIV infection. That can really lie only in a humanization of sexuality."
Seewald - "Are you saying, then, that the Catholic Church is actually not opposed in principle to the use of condoms?"
The Pope - "She of course does not regard it as a real or moral solution, but, in this or that case, there can be nonetheless, in the intention of reducing the risk of infection, a first step in a movement toward a different way, a more human way, of living sexuality."
My! Isn't it enlightening to read things in their true context? What I put in bold above is the tiny fraction that the progressives are blowing out of proportion. He isn't justifying the use of condoms at all; he merely sees its use as an acknowledgement of the dangers of sodomy.
As an analogous situation, I am reminded of a certain abortionist's story of how she left the lifestyle of an abortionist to become a committed Christian. For her, the journey began slowly. She was confronted with an underage girl who wanted an abortion at one of her mills. At that time, grace was beginning to work in her and she was uneasy with this young lady patronizing her business. She pulled the young girl into her office and told her that she didn't think abortion was in her best interests. Everett did not allow that abortion to occur. Now to be sure, this woman allowed other abortions to occur that day. However, as she began taking these sorts of "first steps" about which the Pope spoke, the light shone ever more brightly and she left the abortion business altogether. The one act of stopping the young girl's abortion was not a justification for the abortions that occurred. The (now former) abortionist didn't practice virtue on that occasion; she refrained from sin and committing more damage. It would have been no solution to continue in the abortion business. What the Pope said is that condoms are no solution, but may be a manifestation of an awareness of the inherent harm of the gay lifestyle.
For more detailed clarification, and another analogy, see this article from Renew America.

Fellow Bloggers! We ARE Making A Difference!
Thanks to my friend at Throw the Bums Out for picking up on this.
Here's the acknowledgement right here. It does appear that the author doesn't particularly appreciate it, but at least he does acknowledge our role, something that the head-in-dirt bishops refuse to voice.
So to my fellow "Taliban Catholics": keep up the good work!

Friends Don't Let Friends Give To CCHD! Now What?
It has been amply demonstrated on this blog and the blogs and websites of other faithful Catholics that the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, despite protestations of "reform and review and renewal and whatever", still remains the proverbial snake in the grass. If you donate to ostensibly "help the poor", you'll wind up harming those people in the long run.
If you happily refrained from the CCHD collection, what's to do with your donation dollars? We are still bound to look after the poor - truly look after the poor. Well, for those in the area of the Archdiocese of Washington, there are some practical suggestions. By the way - all donations are tax-deductible.

Of course this list is by no means exhaustive. There are many, many truly worthy charities out there.
A word to the progressive trolls reading this. I have made these recommendations without consultation to the afore-mentioned organizations. My recommendation of these organizations in no way implies that they agree with my stated positions on the CCHD and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Perhaps they agree, perhaps they don't, perhaps they're indifferent - I don't know and I think that irrelevant to the fact that they do perform the Works of Mercy. Any resentment or grudge directed towards them will be regarded as an act of supreme cowardice, spite and pettiness. Any problems, send them here.

To Abort, Or Not To Abort? The Game Has Begun!
Yes, a game! That's what it appears to be to a Minnesota couple, Pete and Alisha Arnold. Both are 30 years old - chronologically, that is. They are in the 17th week of pregnancy with a little boy. However, it seems that they're ambivalent about whether they'll allow the little boy to be born or to have him murdered in Alisha's womb. There is no question about whether the little guy is healthy or not - he is (as if that should make a difference). They admit that they have a comfortable lifestyle and wonder whether their baby might make changes.
Ladies and gentlemen, if you thought you had seen the most crass behavior possible, if you thought Michael Jackson's stunt of holding his baby over a precipitous drop was the worst that you'd see in parental callousness, well, think again. The Arnolds are going to let the internet community decide the fate of their baby. They've set up a website to take a poll on the question of whether the boy lives or dies. Well golly-gee!
Where's all that lovely rhetoric about abortion being "between a woman and her doctor"? They've certainly blown the cover off that lie now, haven't they? What they have attempted to do is to transform the internet into a Roman Colosseum in which the spectators, by their virtual "thumbs-up" or "thumbs-down" decide the fate of the hapless victim - with the Arnolds standing in as the "emporer", of course. Nero and Caligula have nothing on this couple.
Obviously I pray that this immature couple has the grace and good sense not to murder their son. Perhaps they may wish to put him up for adoption, if they're so concerned about their precious "life-style". It might be for the better. Can you just imagine what the boy would feel if he ever learns the circumstances surrounding his birth, that his parents thought so little of him that they'd use his life for a prop so they could get their 15 minutes of fame? Can anyone doubt anymore that this culture in which we find ourselves is a culture of death?

The Story Of Jonah!
Listen to this sweet little girl relate the Biblical account. Click here if you can't see embedded video.
The story of Jonah from Corinth Baptist Church on Vimeo.
Now for some reflection. How many of you, dear readers, are like Jonah? How many of you stubbornly dig in your heels and refuse to heed the Lord's call to speak the truth? How many of you refuse to go out to the abortuaries to offer prayer and assistance? We are not called to be comfortable, but to take up our crosses. When we finally meet the Lord at our particular judgment day (e.g., when we die), what will we say to Him?
The world is literally dying for lack of authentic Christian witness. By virtue of your baptism, you have been called to be the Church Militant, not the church mellow nor the church mish-mosh. Get up and get moving.

Progressives' Disrespect For The Rights Of Their Opponents.
Newsbuster exposes the blatant wish of Al Sharpton to have the FCC go after Rush Limbaugh. Here's the video. (Click here if you can't see embedded video).
Then yesterday, Jay Rockefeller, Senator (D-WV) took time out from a Senate committee meeting to lob shots at both Fox News and MSNBC. He opens this clip be talking about "the system we have for developing television content." Pray tell, who is this "we"? Since when does the Federal government have diddly-squat to do with "developing television content"? Why, oh why, do these progressive busybodies concern themselves with what we watch and how? Read the First Amendment - it's simply none of their damned business. Look at this clip (click here if you can't see embedded video).
Make no mistake. This is all about establishing a progressive monopoly on information and the publishing of opinion. Blogs such as this one will soon be in their crosshairs. Then your freedom to say what you want and read what you want will exist no more. The elections a few weeks ago are only a first step in pushing back this monster. We must be relentless in our vigilance and efforts.

Kicanas' Defeat Causes Liberal Spastic Reaction
If today's post by Kathy Reeves on RH Reality Check is typical fare for them, may I suggest that the term "Reality Check" is a misnomer? She states that she is "disgusted by the conservative smear campaign that labeled Kicanas a homosexualist, and I’m disappointed in the USCCB for taking such claims seriously."
The "conservative smear campaign" that Reeves decries is simply the telling of truth. The fact that the truth may not suit her proclivities does not render the telling of that truth a "smear campaign". Case in point is Kicanas' handlng of the McCormack matter. Kicanas never disputed that he knew of McCormack's pederast tendencies; he simply (and unconscionably) defended his handling of the mess - which facilitated McCormack's horrific abuse of numerous children, including his own relatives

Catholic Standard Follies - Sister Carol Keehan Whines!
On page 9 of the November 18th edition of the Catholic Standard, we have a report of the November 12th meeting of the National Council of Catholic Women. This article, by the Catholic News Service, does not yet appear online at the Standard's website. However, since CNS is national, their articles appear in other diocesan publications, and some of them have it on their websites. This online article from AmericanCatholic.org is verbatum the same that is at the Standard. Should the Standard post theirs online, I'll link to that.
The headline is "Reject partisan strife on Church issues, panelist urges Catholic women". That particular panelist is none other than Sister Carol Keehan - yes the same woman who gave the Obama Hell Bill the final push that garnered it passage in the House of Representatives, selling babies down the river for a cheap pen (and perhaps many more goodies for her Catholic Health Association).

Rainbow Sash Has A Hissy-Fit Over Dolan's Election
Here's the whine-fest. http://www.rainbowsashmovement.com/files/New_Strategy.pdf
According to the sashers, we should be thanking them for Kicanas's defeat. Well, it's true that God works in mysterious ways sometimes, but I'll direct my thanks to God, all the same.
It's rather ironic to hear the sashers complain about the bishops "breaking with tradition" to defeat Kicanas. Of all people, why are they concerned with anything traditional, since they're so wont to throw into the trash all the authentic traditions of the Church? They're also kvetching about the election of Archbishop Joseph Kurtz as vice president; he has spoken out against same-sex marriage.
As the sashers sob tears of sorrow into their rainbow-colored hankies, we pray that their tears don't cause all the pretty colors in the hankies to run. We also pray that they, and other dissidents, may repent of their ways, as they are flirting with eternal damnation.

Kicanas Defeated! Deo Gratias!
It has been a long-held albeit informal tradition at the USCCB that the sitting vice president would be elected president at the annual USCCB meeting. Thus all expected that Bishop Gerald Kicanas of Tuscon would be elected president of the USCCB. Many faithful Catholics have voiced concern over that probable election. Not only has Kicanas cozied up to progressive elements and towed the Bernardin "seamless garment" party line, but his enabling of a pederast seminarian under his watch rendered him unfit to assume any more authority in the Church. Many of us were praying and lobbying so that such an election would be thwarted.
Well, thanks be to God, it was. New York Archbishop Timothy Dolan was elected president. While I am not overjoyed at his election for reasons well-voiced by my colleague at Les Femmes, I am heartened that the progressive wing amongst the bishops was dealt a long-needed rebuke.
Here's an artcle from the Catholic World Report. I love the title: "Cardinal O'Connor's Revenge: The Seamless Garment Unravels".
And another "Deo Gratias!" moment. On November 15th, Catholic Culture published some words spoken by Pope Benedict XVI to some bishops in Brazil. He reminded them that the conference “must avoid becoming a parallel reality or substituting for the ministry of each individual bishop. The counselors and structures of the episcopal conference exist to serve the bishops, not to replace them.” Ladies and gentlemen, it is no accident that the Holy Father uttered these words just as the American bishops were gathering in Baltimore in preparation for the meeting now occurring. Dare I opine that His Holiness was seeking to put pompous progressive bureaucrats in their place? God is good!

"Rebellion In The Church" By The Vortex
RealCatholicTV is the organization that produces the Vortex videos that you see on this blog quite frequently. In addition to that, they occasionally produce extended videos dealing with relevant and crucial topics in the Church. Because of the length of these programs, the videos won't embed. However, this link http://www.realcatholictv.com/cia/05rebellion/ will take you to the latest program.
This one touches upon the current rebellion in the Church (pro-abortion politicians, clown masses, women-priest-wannabees, etc) and looks at the history behind it. This history goes back to the rebellions led by Martin Luther and King Henry VIII. It is a good 90 minutes long, but well worth the watch, as are all the episodes of the Catholic Investigative Agency. We need to understand the various problems in our Church and culture if we are to effectively deal with them.

Local CCHD Funds Alinskyite Organization
If anyone thought that the local CCHD in the Archdiocese of Washington was not funding any innimical organization, please be advised that they are. Proof can be found in the November 11th issue of the Catholic Standard, page 9. If you don't have a copy, no problem - it's online right here.
We read that Holy Comforter-St Cyprian parish has a "relationship" with the Washington Interfaith Network (WIN), which in turn receives CCHD funding. Let's look at the website of the Washington Interfaith Network. Right off the bat we see that they are affiliates of the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF). Let's look at the "about the IAF", then "overview" page. They unabashedly admit to being founded by Saul Alinsky, the self-proclaimed "radical" who has made it his publicly-stated aim to remake our country into his image of a socialistic utopia. Read his book, "Rules for Radicals", obtainable anywhere online. Read as he states quite plainly that he believed that the "ends justify the means".
Let's go to the "links" page and look at VOICE. My colleague at Les Femmes, being based in Virginia, has done much research on them. Rather than rehash what she's learned, I post two of her links:
http://lesfemmes-thetruth.blogspot.com/2009/09/fr-mitch-pacwa-and-thoughts-on-alinsky.html
http://lesfemmes-thetruth.blogspot.com/2009/09/fr-gerry-creedon-trivializes-murder-of.html
http://lesfemmes-thetruth.blogspot.com/2009/09/turn-up-heat-on-catholic-campaign-for.html
Have you noticed something that seems to be a problem for the CCHD, everytime there's an effort to convince Catholics that the CCHD is "on the up-and-up"? Their very attempts betray more squalid associations. They simply can't get away from the putrid stench of Alinskyite organizing. I regret saying that there is an obvious reason to this plight of theirs. That foul stench doesn't merely permeate them; it is the very essense of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.
Let's step away from the dubious entanglements and look at some of the problematic statements made by archdiocesan officials. Anthony Bosnick, the director of the archdiocese's Department for Charity and Justice, stated that the CCHD helps to "reach out to the poor and vunerable and that's really the most important thing that we can do as a community." Well, that's not my understanding of the mission of the Church. As I see it, and as I've been taught, the primary mission of the Church is about the saving of souls. That's not to say that "reaching out to the poor and vulnerable" isn't important. It is an important thing that we do, but it is NOT "the most important thing." Msgr Charles Pope, pastor of the church mentioned above, said something similar, "Certainly care for the poor is central to the Gospel, and every Catholic should support the poor." Again, is not eternal salvation central to the Gospel? Of course it is.
Now why do you think there is the emphasis on "reaching out to the poor" at the expense of eternal salvation? Here it is, in a nutshell. Saul Alinsky, the inspiration behind the CCHD, was an atheist. As a non-believer in eternity, he saw only the here and now as being reality. Unfortunately, some of the apologists for the CCHD are unwittingly chanting that Alinskyan mantra, even though they themselves believe in eternity.
Again, I urge a complete boycott of the CCHD collection this weekend.

If The CCHD Wants Romper Room, Here It Is
Boys and girls of the USCCB, since you put out an inane cartoon to try to bamboozle us into contributing to the CCHD collection, it's now your turn to watch this. Hopefully you'll now accept the truth, if it is portrayed at a juvenile level. Click here if you can't see embedded video.

Bishop Kicanas Receives The Endorsement From Hell
The Rainbow Sash Movement, self-described as the "only LGBT catholyc organization in the United States active within the parishes", supports Bishop Kicanas for the election to the position of president of the USCCB. They discuss the stances that Bishop Kicanas has taken over the years, particularly with lending back-handed support to Obama's desecration of the University of Notre Dame, his support of the CCHD collection and activities, etc.
As far as bare-bones facts go, the Rainbow Sash Movement correctly describes what appears to be Bishop Kicanas's mindset on many crucial matters. The RSM laments his current position on gay "marriage", but hold out hopes that Bishop Kicanas' position "will evolve". I pray that's not the case, but wouldn't be too surprised if that indeed happens.
So the Rainbow Sash Movement doesn't really care that Bishop Kicanas shielded a pederast and said he'd do it again. If Kicanas is elected, it will be yet one more inidcation that what is needed is the abolishment of the entire USCCB.
Besides my previous post on this matter http://restore-dc-catholicism.blogspot.com/2010/11/new-usccb-president-pederast-enabler.html please read:

Perhaps Another Reason Why The Chicago CCHD Director Was Fired?
According to this LifeSiteNews article from Friday, it appears that Rey Flores, former Chicago CCHD director, may have violated a CCHD precept big-time. And just what might that sacred, set-in-stone precept be?? Hear ye! Hear ye!
The Southwest Organizing Project (SWOP) is a Chicago-based organizing venture that has for three years received national CCHD grants to the tune of $45,000 each year. Among other things, SWOP is implementing a school program called Elev8, working with a clinic called Access Community Health, that distributes condoms and birth control, and abortion referrals.
Last year, Flores did some personal vetting. He called the health clinic, posing as a father of a 7th-grade girl, stating that she might be pregnant. The nurse told him that they could provide him with an abortion referral. Obvously Flores had primae facae evidence of a clear violation of the CCHD's supposed new guidelines.
Accordingly, the Chicago CCHD, still under Flores' leadership at the time, advised the national CCHD not to award another grant to the SWOP - amount $45,000.00. This facade of reform didn't last too long now, did it?
Ladies and gentlemen, I'm going to say this plainly. The so-called "reform" of the CCHD is a sham, not much more than a "cya" move to try to deflect well-deserved criticisms - and boycotts. The retention of Father Mindling as a consulting theologian is yet another flimsy attempt to pretty up a very ugly reality. By the way - I don't impugn Father Mindling at all; he is, after all, a priest vowed to obedience to his bishop.
Thou shalt not personally catch thy grantee with hand in cookie jar!

Real Prudence For Us "Taliban Catholics"!
Click here if you can't see embedded video.
Sometimes the progressive bureaucrats occupying high places in chanceries (and some wearing miters) accuse us of "not acting prudently". Some will call us (those of us calling for adherence to the Magiserium, particularly in regards to doctrine and life issues) ... Taliban Catholics! Nope - not making this up! I suppose some progressives are so "terrorized" by the simple proclamation of truth that they just have to cut loose with such jibes. However, depending on the sources of said jibes, they may well be badges of honor!

It's Cartoon Time! Courtesty Of CCHD!
Boys and girls, we've been hearing and reading all kinds of nasty, mean-spirited (had to throw a liberal buzz term in there!) things about the CCHD! To make us feel better about the guilt trip that the parishes have been instructed to inflict upon us this weekend in preparation for next weekend's collection, the CCHD has created this lovely fairy tale for us to watch!
All kidding aside, they must think that the average Catholic has the mentality of a five-year-old. That's fine for children, but we're adults - although the progressives would like to reduce us to the status of dependent children (hmmm.. Might the USCCB be tipping its hand here?). Why else would they think that such happy-pap-crap would appeal to us? Of course there's plenty of propaganda interspersed in this thing, so I'll try to unpack it as much as possible.

A Stinging Indictment Of The Chicago CCHD
More details are now surfacing regarding the derailment of the reforms of the CCHD in the Archdiocese of Chicago. One might ask why I'm focusing so much on Chicago, since I'm from the Archdiocese of Washington? There are two reasons.
In this article are snippets of a letter that Mr. Flores wrote. The entirety of this letter appears to be in this episode of the Vortex, shown below. Click here if you can't see embedded video.
Another important point - the USCCB is indeed NOT releasing the names of its intended grantees until the collection has already taken place. From a purely secular viewpoint, it's simply unethical on their part - and more so from a truly Catholic viewpoint. What, oh what, are they trying to hide? Visit http://www.reformcchdnow.com for more information.
Please - do not give to the CCHD collection so much as one red penny. Give any such donations to a crisis pregnancy center (the ones in Maryland are particularly beleagured after the recent attacks they've endured) or other solid charities that actually do practice the Works of Mercy.
- The CCHD had its origins in Chicago. That's where Msgr Jack Egan, friend and disciple of Saul Alinsky, conceived this swindling scheme later known as the CCHD. To this day, it still garners the largest collection in the nation.
- Lately, the CCHD has been crowing and waxing sanctimonious about its overly-vaunted "reform and renewal". It was in the Chicago archdiocese where we were seeing some real efforts and progress in implementing such reforms - reforms that have been sabatogued by renegade archdiocesan priests.

BREAKING - Archdiocese Of Chicago CCHD RETRACTS Grants Promised To Pro-Life Groups
We reported, in the past two weeks, that there was a backlash against the much-needed reform of the Chicago CCHD. Read here and here.
It appears that the backlash is pretty much complete. InsideCatholic reports that Chicago's CCHD has actually retracted grants previously promised to solid pro-life groups. Among them is the Pro-Life Action League, founded by Joe Scheidler.
The CCHD just sank to a new immoral low. Over the past few weeks I've detailed where they're slipping money to nefarious community-organizing scam-outfits, many of them kissing up to baby-murder organizations. Now they're actually reneging on solid pro-life groups that are about the business of saving babies.
The CCHD does NOT deserve one red penny of any Catholic's money. Boycott that collection!

More Shady Business As Usual At CCHD
The Diocese of Oakland California, in its latest edition of its paper, the Catholic Voice, unabashedly announces that some more of the "usual suspects" are receiving national CCHD grants. From that article we read, "A relatively new organization called Genesis, an affiliate of the Gamaliel Foundation, received a national grant of $30,000 toward its efforts to address “public policy issues that deny opportunity and enhance concentration of poverty” in Alameda County, said the Rev. Scott Denman, pastor of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Oakland, who is the chair of Genesis." (emphasis mine) Yes, they are affiliates with the Gamaliel Foundation, the progressive organization from whence the Messiah Most Miserable launched his pernicious "community organizing" career.
There's more. Again from Catholic Voice we read, "Another group, Congregations Organizing for Renewal (COR), received $35,000 from CCHD. Its mission is to develop leadership among low- and moderate-income adults of southern Alameda County in order to empower them to participate in the decision-making process in local governing boards and committees that deal with issues such as education, housing, job training, violence prevention, health care, immigration and youth development." They're a bit more discreet with this organization; the CV doesn't reveal the COR is a PICO affiliate. This bunch (PICO) was founded by Father John Baumann, S.J., who was trained in Alinsky's organizing techniques. Yep! CCHD national money is going to dubious "community organizing" groups, be such donations ever so quiet.
Speaking of "community organizing" rackets, there is talk of the Republican-controlled House launching a real investigation into ACORN. Watch this clip from Fox's "Follow the Money", here.

CCHD - Putting Lipstick On The Rattlesnake
Father Daniel Mindling, OFM, Cap, has been named as consulting theologian to the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. I understand he is orthodox. He’s the academic dean at Mt Saint Mary’s seminary, one of the more solid seminaries in the country. However, I suspect that this may be the USCCB's attempt at “window dressing” or even “putting lipstick on the rattlesnake”. Given the CIW mess and their reticence about releasing their 2010 grantee list, I’m simply not impressed
The California Catholic Daily reported on this latest development also. Please read the comments. It is heartening to see that good Catholics are not being fooled by this and they really see the CCHD for the jaded mess that it is.
Ladies and gentlemen, given that they still haven't released their 2010 Grantee List, they are literally asking us to toss our hard-earned money into an unkown black hole. Well, it's not quite unknown. We do know of at least one jaded recipient, the Coalition of Immokalee Workers; see last week's post. That simply indicates that at the CCHD, it's "shady business as usual".
Again, we call for a complete boycott of next week's collection and the eventual abolition of the CCHD - and the USCCB.

Culture Of Death In "The Land Down Under"
Melissa Ohden was born in 1977. However, her "birth" was much like Gianna Jessen's. She is alive because she survived her mother's attempt to murder her via saline abortion. While she was left for dead on a table, medical staff noticed her movements and did what they were sworn to do - save her life. She credits basic American protections in place during that time.
She shares her story on the embedded video produced by Pro-Life Victoria (in Austrilia). In 2008, the Brunby Labor Government in Victoria passed their so-called "Abortion Law Reform Act". With that, they voted to do away with the most minimal tokens of decency in their mad dash to liberalize the murder of babies. It is the opinion of Pro Life Victoria that this law is, to date, the most barbaric abortion law in the western world.

Attention, Maryland! Abortionist Carhart Is Coming!!
According to this Lifenews article, LeRoy Carhart, late-term baby-killer (that's what he is!) intends to open three new killing centers, including one in Maryland. At this time, December is the target date.
He was going to open a new center in Nebraska, but a newly-enacted Nebraska law bans abortion after 20 weeks because of the pain that babies feel.
Two things to keep in mind:

Two things to keep in mind:
- We'll keep you apprised as we learn new information.
- So-called "incremental" laws really do matter, particularly in the absence of ability to ban abortion altogether. This is a case-in-point. Because of Maryland's very liberal baby-murder laws, we have become an abortion mecca, attracting all sorts of scum and low life. Within the next day or so, I will be posting a video regarding the status of abortion in Austrilia that further illustrates the importance of these law.
Komen And Planned Parenthood - More Overly-Cozy Connections
Eric Winer, Chief Scientific Advisor for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, published an open letter, attempting to deflect the adverse publicity that Komen's ties with Planned Parenthood has so richly deserved. Read it here. Judie Brown comments on this letter, and more.
As you read the Komen letter, you'll notice that they claim that the money that they donate to Planned Parenthood is used "only for breast health education, screening and treatment programs." Well, even if that's true, all that means is that monies that Komen gives to Planned Parenthood will free up other dollars in Planned Parenthood's budget for abortion-related purposes. Anyone who has any not-for-profit experience can attest to this budgeting practice. So yes, monies given by Komen to Planned Parenthood will go towards abortion, even if only indirectly.

CCHD Chameleons - And Some Boycott Tools
In March, I posted news that some ACORN affiliates in New York and California had changed their names to Community Organizers International. Go back and read it, realizing that these outfits often follow the same game-book.
That's what seems to be happening in California's Diocese of Orange. The CCHD collection is now called the "National Needs in the Diocese of Orange" collection. They're all just a bunch of chameleons now, aren't they?
The American Life League has done extensive work in researching the underhanded grantee practices that CCHD uses in doling out your donation dollars. They have developed cards that you can put inside your CCHD (or "National Needs") envelope in lieu of money for deposit in the collection basket.
For the Diocese of Arlington, there is an additional tool for your use. There is an online petition to Bishop Loverde, found at http://nomorecchd.com/our-petition/

Cap And Trade - Something To Keep In Mind
Now that they're lame ducks, the Dems will want to shove down our throats during these two months all the crap that they can. (After all, Nancy will want to bang that gavel as much as she can!) Surely the "cap and trade" schtick will be at the top of the list. In the little search box at the top, put in "global warming" and "climate change" and read material that I've already compiled.

New USCCB President - A Pederast Enabler?
Unfortunately, that is precisely what Bishop Gerald Kicanis is. I need not "reinvent the wheel" here. Rather, I refer you to the article on the Les Femmes blog that describes the miserable manner that Kicanis handled a gay pederast, Daniel McCormack, when the latter was a seminarian where Kicanis was the rector.
Meanwhile, if Mom or Dad wants to chaperone his/her own child's field trip, he/she will have to be fingerprinted and undergo a background check. Go figure!
Kicanis is currently Vice President of the USCCB. It has been routine for many years to elect the VP to the top slot. How's that for proper officer vetting? Barring unusual circumstances, Kicanis will be elected president when the USCCB holds its semi-annual meeting in Baltimore next week.
I agree with Les Femmes that the USCCB is nothing more than a vile bureaucracy. We've both have detailed the many sordid forces at work in the USCCB. Is it any wonde now, that when it comes to reforming the CCHD, they're only interested in "putting lipstick on the snake"? Not only should the CCHD be abolished, but the entire USCCB should join it in the dung heap.

Attention All RINOs!
You know who you are! You're the "country-club", ever-so-sophisticated inside-the-beltway elites who don't mind being the minority as long as you get a generous supply of crumbs from the table. You are all too willing to throw conservative principles in the trash can in order to secure those plumb crumbs. Well, despite your bumbling, you made significant gains in the Senate and won control of the House this past week.

More Details On The Chicago CCHD Mess
Up until a week ago, I had advocated the boycott of the CCHD with the exception of the Chicago CCHD. Just recently, I learned that the reforms of the Chicago CCHD were to be short-lived and gave some details in that post. Please re-read it, as well as the linked article by Stephanie Block.
Today, Catholic Culture reveals that the backlash against the reform of the Chicago CCHD is spearheaded by - priests! Regretably, I'm not surprised! Father Larry Dowling of St Agatha's parish appears to be the ringleader. According to Catholic Culture, he is a "community activist (organizer?)" who has his own squalid ties to pro-abortion groups; among these is the local Planned Parenthood.
So now we call for an "across-the-board" boycott of the CCHD collection in the entire country.

CCHD Continues To Fund Radical Groups, Protestations Notwithstanding
On September 15th, the USCCB released a statement outlining the reputed "review and renewal" of the CCHD, given the glaring light of truth that we and many others shone on it to expose its harmful grantee practices. You can read it here. On page 2, it showcases some of what they would have us believe are worthy recipients of Catholic dollars. The first one listed is called the Coaltion of Immokalee Workers.
The Reform CCHD Now Coalition (of which we are members) issued a press release today revealing the radical pro-abortion and pro-gay ties that this CIW group has. The RCN coalition developed a report that goes into extensive detail about the matter.
When their very first showcased donee is exposed as a snake in the grass, we have reason to believe that the CCHD is either:
- not being completely honest with the Church at large regarding their intentions for donation dollars, or
- hopelessly naive in believing the words of malevolent grant applicants
Given the unarguably jaded history of its foundation, I regretably hold to the first option. I urge a complete boycott of the November 21st collection. Moreover, I now call for the complete abolition of the CCHD.
Perils Of Global Warming / Climate Change
Ladies and gentlemen, I really must apologize. As you know, I've poked fun at the concept of global warming and climate change. Little did I realize the real calamities that will ensue of these menaces go unchecked. What an education the video below provides! Listed below are just a few of the earth-shattering dangers of global-warming - climate change!
Thanks For The Memories (?) Pelosi
Hopefully we never forget the role she had in the debacle we must now unravel. Thanks to Right Change for putting this out. Click here if you can't see embedded video.

Messiah Most Miserable May "Order" Catholic Hospitals To Murder Babies
Thanks to Pewsitter and Catholic Culture for this alert. The ACLU (Awful Crappy Libertines Union) has requested that the Obama administration mandate "emergency abortions" at Catholic hospitals. Naturally the Mindless Minions of His Misery are considering it! I suppose now that they were royally trounced in Tuesday's elections, they now feel the need to get some revenge. Is that ever so possible? Why else would they feel the need to bully the hospitals into violating their mandates and identities? Are the consciences of the progressives that stung and seared that this is the only way they think they can assuage their ire? It won't work, guys!
I remember years ago when the City of New York tried to force that mandate upon the Catholic hospitals there. Fortunately, John Cardinal O'Connor was at the helm. He made it clear that if push came to shove, that he would immediately shut down the Catholic hospitals. The craven cowards running the city had the good sense to reconsider. Will today's Catholic hierarchy have the same kind of spine that Cardinal O'Connor had?

Thank God For Gridlock!
For years now, the mainstream mindless media have accused conservatives in Congress of "gridlock" and "obstruction" with the same derision as one might use when talking of mass-murder or terrorist bombing. But are "gridlock" and "obstruction" really all that "bad"? Leaving aside all knee-jerk emotions that the libs want us to feel, I think we have to say "that depends". On what? Well, on the anticipated condition or event that is the target of such action.
Sometimes "gridlock" and "obstruction" can be the only things that stand between us and certain destruction. This is the case now. While conservatives will hold the majority in the House starting January, there are still two months between now and then. Pope Pelosi will be swinging that gavel with a vengeance since she'll soon lose it. They will try to ramrod more onorous legislation through during this lame-duck session. This legislaton will most likely be worthy targets of much-needed "gridlock" and "obstruction". So bring it on!
The conservatives did not win control of the Senate, but they did net a significant gain. That brings us to yet another word that the conservative senators must learn to live and love - "filibuster"! They must be relentless about employing that tool when disgusting progressive nominations to judicial seats or other offices are placed before them.
The Creative Minority Report posted a piece called "I'm A Pro-Gridlock American." Let's all wear that title with pride, and hold our newly-elected conservatives' feet to the fire to be "pro-gridlock" as well.

Yesterday's Election Results
Their real state of mind! |
On a more serious note, I saw the following on a fellow blogger's post - "The Dream - Realized". I submitted the following comment to that post.
Hand over that gavel, Nancy! |
While yesterday's elections are a first step, they are only a first step. Much work remains ahead of us. This is no time to break out the champaigne. We must be relentless about the institution of the Catholic culture of life and not pause for one iota of one second. "Realized" - NOT! Let's purge that language from our lexicon and not break our stride.
I hope and pray that those who played roles in yesterday's turnouts do not now go home and sit on their laurels. I know that Thanksgiving and Christmas aren't that far away, but let that not be an excuse for any one of us to lose focus or relax our efforts and resolve.

If You Don't Bother To Vote, And To Vote For Life And Family...
The below may well depict the result of any such negligence. Do you want that on your conscience?
Vote tomorrow as though your very life and eternal salvation may depend on it - it may!
The Feast Of All Saints Day
How crowded was Mass today? Probably the attendance was sparse. That's because the bishops didn't want us to be "inconvenienced" by being obliged to go to Mass two days in a row. Horrors! We can't have such imposition now, can we? It's more of what I can only call the deliberated dumbing down of Catholicism and depreciation of our Catholic identity, graces and heritage. Michael Voris sums it up nicely. Click here if you can't see the embedded video.
