St Ignatius of Loyola

Today is the feastday of the founder of the Society of Jesus, commonly known as the Jesuits.  If you've read this blog for any length of time, you know the problems that too many Jesuits have posed for the Church recently - from the drag show at Santa Clara University to the pro-abortion Sister Carol Keehan giving the commencement at Gonzaga High.  To get a sampling, just type the word "Jesuit" in the upper left-hand box next to the "magnifying glass" icon and click the icon.

One crucial Jesuit debacle I never touched upon involved Father Robert Drinan.  Many of us remember him as the priest who served in the US House of Representatives in defiance of his order (who of course demured to discipline him) and who supported, and voted for, the Freedom of Choice Act.  See Catholic Culture's account of the messAfter all was said and done with that debacle, Drinan spent his final years at (bet'cha can't guess!) Georgetown University.  When he passed away several years ago, he was given a lavish public Catholic funeral - much like his protege, Ted Kennedy.

That's right - protege.  It seems that Father Drinan played a key role in goading the Kennedys into adopting a pro-abortion position in their political careers.  Read this account of their Hyannisport Meeting.  This one priest seems to have been instrumental in launching one of the deadliest pro-abortion political careers in Washington, DC - that of Ted Kennedy.  No doubt he had his nefarious influence on others.

Getting back to Saint Ignatius, let us ask him and his saintly spiritual sons to pray for their wayward order.  Particularly invoke St Francis Xavier and St Aloysius Gonzaga, as institutions named for them have been particularly besmirched.

Good News! Picket of KofC Convention This Week Is ON! Come Join!

The following is from Kenneth Fisher, president of Concerned Roman Catholics of America:

Thanks to the efforts of a young couple, Jeanne and Bill Kee, now visiting the D.C. area, there will be a demonstration beginning at 8:30 AM at the National Basilica of the Immaculate Conception where the “Knights” will be holding their opening Mass (on Monday Aug 3), and this demonstration will continue with a 12:00 PM Press Conference in front of the Marriott Wardman Hotel, the site of their convention, with Kenneth M. Fisher, Founder & Chairman of “Concerned Roman Catholics of America, Inc. as the spokesperson.

All True Members of the “Church Militant” and indeed all pro-lifers are urged to attend to show their dismay at the refusal of the Knights’ “leadership” to expel prominent pro-abortion, pro-sodomite members, especially politicians from their ranks. They not only refuse to do so, the National “leadership” is forbidding any Council to take such action. This in spite of the fact that Article 162 of their Constitution and By-Laws expressly calls for such expulsion.

All Catholic participants are urged to have Her Rosary in their hands as they participate.

How Does He Do It???

As the Messiah Most Miserable accomplishes all his "hope and change", doesn't he just leave you breathless with amazement?  Don't you just wonder how he manages to accomplish all that he does?  From where does he get all his wisdom, his all-encompassing knowledge?? Ladies and gentlemen, here's the secret!

Good News! U of IL Reinstates Dr Howell

We read on Lifesite News that the University of Illinois is seeing the error of its politically-correct ways.  It has restored Dr. Kenneth Howell to his former position and is offering him the opportunity to teach the "intro to Catholicism" course that he had taught.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is yet more evidence that your voice makes a difference.  Never let yourself be deluded into thinking that it "doesn't matter" if you speak out or not.  It most certainly does.  We must use our Constitutionally-guaranteed rights, lest they be jeopardized.

Tea-Party Nuns!

A friend of mine recommended this video of a speech given by Mother Mary Patrick of the Daughters of the Immaculata.  She is speaking at a patriotic rally.  Listen closely as she describes St Maximilian Kolbe and how the Saint satirized Adolf Hitler - no "nice, meek, mild" wimpy-wuss was he!  He told the truth straight up, and for this he suffered martyrdom.  (Click here if you can't see embedded video).

To all the fed watchdogs who are observing this blog, I know you're out there and I truly hope you are learning something about your taskmasters.  Before you go back to your bosses and tell them about Mother Patrick mixing religion and politics, let me remind you, via the clip below, that Madame Speaker, that is, "pope" Pelosi herself, told the bishops to wield their influence to weaken our national borders.  So it must be ok, right?  Truth be told, Catholics have just as much right as anyone else to bring our beliefs, values, convictions and ideas to bear in the public square and in our politics.  We're here, and we aren't going away!  Get used to it! NEA: Why Public Schools Are Down The Crapper

World Net Daily, in an online article, exposed the adulation that the National Education Association bestowed upon Chairman Mao and the Communist Revolution in China.  It suggested October 1st as a day to celebrate that event.  Since the WND article went online, the NEA attempted to sanitize its own site by removing incriminating evidence.  Alas, WND cached it, so it remains for the world to see!

To briefly summarize what the Communist thugs did to China, I'll give some bullets:
  • Persecution of all religions, from the Catholic Church to Tibetan Buddhism, with imprisonment and brutal treatment of leaders
  • The "one-child" policy, resulting in forced abortions and sterlilzations, and now a great gender imbalance amongst the people
  • Tieneman Square - remember that?
John Dewey, about whom I've written in earlier posts, did much to contrive the mess known as public education.  He is considered the "father of modern education".  While that itself is true, I don't think that is necessarily an honor.  Read the entire WND article to learn how he enthused about communism.   Those of you with school-age children, home-schooling is a viable option, and probably the one that will best enable your children not to lose their souls and their minds.

Follow-Up To Situation At St Francis Xavier Church In Manhattan

On July 13, a Vortex video was released that documented the goings-on at St Francis Xavier Church in the Manhattan area of New York, a parish known for its promotion of homosexual behavior.  I relayed their findings in the July 13th posting.  At that time, Real Catholic TV was awaiting feedback from the Archdiocese of New York.  Many of us made our own inquiries of the archdiocese.  We must have been impossible to blow off indefinitely; the archdiocese did respond.  Real Catholic TV believes that the response was somewhat disingenuous.  Please watch the following to learn why.  (Click here if you cannot see embedded video).

Good News! DISCLOSE Act Stalled

In a delightful show of spinal fortitude, the Republicans maintained their filibuster of the DISCLOSE Act (S.3628).  Many organizations, from the National Right to Life to the American Civil Liberties Union, see this as a virtual gag order and stifling of political speech.  Even the AFL-CIO has withdrawn its support.  Details are found at Lifesite News.

This raises hopes that the Senate Republicans can find it within themselves to maintain a filibuster when it comes time to vote on Elena Kagan's nomination to the Supreme Court.  She must be kept from that bench, and the Republicans must be encouraged (by us!) to stand firm.

Thank The Lord For The Internet!

In this Vortex installment, Michael Voris makes plain the pivotal role that the internet has played in shedding light upon the various internal scandals of the Church - and as the saying goes, "light scares away the cockroaches".  (Click here if you can't see embedded video).

That, in a nutshell, is why this blog, and many other blogs and websites, exist: to offer news and information that the mainstream media (including too many archdiocesan publications) simply omit.  We offer opportunities to network with other like-minded Catholics and we offer opportunities to put your beliefs and concerns into actions: letter-writing, street activism, etc.

This is also why the USCCB seems to take a dim view of us.  I wrote on that earlier; see http://restore-dc-catholicism.blogspot.com/2010/06/us-bishops-complain-about-us-bloggers.html

As you examine this blog, please also examine the other great sites that exist; I list a number of them in the right side-bar.  Recommend these to your friends.  You might want to start your own!  Let's use the tools that God has given to us to spread the word and institute a Catholic culture.

Alliance Defense Fund Weekly Update

The Alliance Defense Fund has been a friend of area Christians and pro-life activists, helping us to defend our First Amendment rights as we preach God's truth and engage in pro-life activism.  I just discovered these updates on Facebook and will be posting them.  (Click here if you can't see embedded video).

Contraceptive Mentality Is Deadly

Here's a brief refresher regarding this undeniable truth.  (Click here if you can't see embedded video)

100 Days From Now

100 days from the writing of this post is Election Tuesday.

First I'll remind folks once again that this blog is not a "501c3" or any other type of IRS-recognized "not-for-profit".  That means there are no IRS muzzles on me that prevent me from endorsing candidates for polticial office.  Being a Maryland resident, that's where I'll focus.

U.S. Senate:  Babs desperately needs to retire.  This country needs her to retire.  And whom do I recommend?  Jim Rutledge.

U.S. Congress: I'll list by order of Congressional District.
   1 - Andy Harris
   2 -
   3 -
   4 - Robert Broadus
5 - Charles Lollar or Collins Bailey - they both seem good on the key issues
   6 - Roscoe Bartlett
   7 -
   8 - Mike Philips

That takes care of the Federal offices.  Marylanders!  Every last one of our state and county (and I believe cities, but I don't live in an incorporated town) elected officials are up for election.  Those of us in Montgomery County and Baltimore city can clean house!

Marylnad offices
Governor: Brian Murphy  Let me make one thing abundantly clear right now, and this requires a history lesson.  Remember just two years ago, when then-governor Ehrlich fired Robert Smith because the latter voiced his Catholic beliefs?  Read the National Review article for a memory-refresher.  "But that was a long time ago", some say?  Consider - it wasn't just Smith who was insulted, but any Catholic who has the audacity to voice his beliefs in the public square.  Ehrlich stuck his thumbs into each one of our eyes, and he's never apologized for it.  Under no circumstances can I recommend a vote for Bob Ehrlich.

Republican Central Committee:  I recommend Moshe Starkman and Augustus Alzona.  Judging from the Montgomery County Republican website, I believe these are "at large".  I know both these men to be in favor of upholding traditional family values.  The others may well be, too; I am not acquainted with them.  Moving to candidates from specific districts, we have:
 LD-14: Terry Bork
 LD-17: Josephine Wang
 LD-20: Joseph Gillin

State Delegates to the Republican Convention:
 LD-17: Josephine Wang
 LD-19: Moshe Starkman
 LD-39: Bill Witham

Maryland State Senate:
LD-12: Rick Martel (Catonsville area)
LD-39: Bob Smith (same man whom Ehrlich threw under the bus)

I should mention that most Republican candidates are unopposed in their primaries.  I'll also state that since the Democrat party is, according to their own platform, proponents of baby-murder, I saw no reason to include them in the list of recommended candidates.  Those whom we need to defeat are:
Governor Martin O'Malley
US Senator Barbara Mikulski
All US House of Representative members, with the exception of Roscoe Bartlett
State Senator Mike Miller
Every one of the Montgomery County delegation

We have our work cut out for us.

"The Correct Way To Arrest A Terrorist"?

What's in quotes is the title of a video that is making its rounds.  Here it is (click here if you can't see embedded video).

First, I get no indication that the criminal is a terrorist.  He seems to be the average bank-robber.  I suppose it's the commentator's remark about terrorists in Spain that have caused people to make that otherwise-unfounded connection.

Now, from a Catholic moral viewpoint, is this a "correct" way to arrest anybody?  Absolutely not!  The use of that magnitude of force was unwarrented.  At the time of the crash, the hostages had already been freed; the criminal at that point in time was endangering no one, so there was no "rescue" motive for usage of force.  Moreover, the criminal could have easily been apprehended in much more safe manners.  He could have been given a crippled motorcycle (low gas, high gears disabled) that would have caused him to slow down, allowing for orderly and less dangerous capture.

There was no way that the criminal could have avoided collision.  Was injury to the criminal intended?  It certainly was foreseeable.  If he had died as a result of his injuries, I suspect the police would have been held responsible for unjustified manslaughter, if not murder.  I also noted the disregard for the safety of people passing by.  I truly hope the commentator's attitude did not mirror that of the Spanish police.

What I fund troubling is the salivation that seems to be going on amongst some conservatives, and even Catholics, over this footage.  I had some exchange over private emails regarding this, voicing what I just voiced above.  One snide comment was that I'd prefer to rehabilitate the man over milk and cookies.  My reader chose to ignore the suggestions I made for a more reasonable capture.  He also mocked my concern for people passing by, perhaps not noticing the car and pedestrians in the background as the crash occurred.  I believe his conscience was pricked when I pointed out that the "vigilante" in some folks, while understandable, was unacceptable.

Ladies and gentlemen, we need to take our frustrations and other emotions caused by crime and criminals and turn them off.  There are concepts that we used to respect, such as "due process" and "rule of law".  Understand that if we advocate their suspension in cases such as the robber, we will not be able to invoke them when our own safety is threatened by overbearing police.  And yes, they were overbearing.  We really need to watch ourselves as we gloat over flicks such as this.  If we allow those mental patterns to continue unchecked, we will be seduced into becoming footsoldiers for the next tyrant that comes along.

Will We Be Brought To This Point?

A few weeks ago I posted one of Chuck Colson's videos in which he exposed the vocabular sophistry being employed by the Messiah Most Miserable and his lackeys in substituting "freedom of worship" for "freedom of religion".  He has released another video in which he explains why it may be necessary to disobey unjust law in order to obey God's law.  I'll state some thoughts first, because with all due respect to Mr. Colson, he's not Catholic.  While I have no disagreement with what he says, I think it needs to be examined a bit with a "Catholic eye".

SEIU-Thug Chieftan Joins Georgetown Public Policy Institute

First let's have a history lesson.  I would hope that those in the Bethesda/Chevy Chase area remember this affront to their community inflicted by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).  To recap, in May, they brought in 14 busloads of protesters to storm the front lawn and even the front porch of a Bank of America lawyer, ostensibly to "protest foreclosures".  They would up scaring the attorney's young son out of his wits and making a nuisance in the neighborhood.  I did blog about it just after it happened, and I suggest you review that posting.

What happened in May was nothing less than thuggish, mob-like terrorism.  Yes, I'll use that word!  I've no bones stating that SEIU are thugs and perhaps even terrorists.  Hey - if it looks and acts like a duck, it's probably a duck!

To this day, no one at the SEIU has issued any kind of apology or repudiation of that action.  They apparently embrace and support that action, as they have given no evidence to the contrary.  Dare I say that even the upper management of the SEIU are thugs since they seem to inculcate such behavior of their underlings?

Yesterday we received word that Andy Stern, past president of the SEIU, will join the Georgetown Public Policy Institute as a senior research fellow beginning August 1st.  In the words of Georgetown's press release, Stern "will conduct and coordinate research efforts on a number of social policy issues, including wage reform, labor policy, and retirement security.  He also will engage with the Georgetown community of students, faculty and alumni in a variety of ways, through guest lectures, workshops, and public events."

"Public events"?  Just what kind of "public events" might they have in mind?  Do they entail maurauding all over people's private property and terrorizing their children?  How about mob intimidation of those attending rallies, such as Tea Party gatherings?  Clearly Stern and his SEIU have some peculiar ideas of "social policy issues."

With this, the muslimization of Georgetown Hospital chapel and the debauchery at Santa Clara University (both blogged earlier this week), I'd say we have yet more evidence that the Jesuit order, as a whole, is a bit of a problem for the Church.

By the way - hats off to Pewsitter for the tip.

Abominations On Two Jesuit College Campuses

First let's look at the one at Santa Clara University in California.  It's a drag show - on the campus of a supposedly Catholic institution of higher learning.  I warn you, it is vulgar; you will have difficulty believing that this isn't occurring in a bar in the seamy side of town.  It's so vulgar that I'm not going to embed the video; rather, I'll link to the youtube page.  The individual seems to be a concerned Catholic who wants this mess exposed; his youtube id is Tony1584.  After you watch the debauchery, I'd suggest looking over to the right of that screen and watch his analysis of the thing; it's in three parts.  I think he does a reasonably good job in giving some background, especially into the rather odd priests who seem to have paved the way for that orgy to occur.  Alert your friends on the west coast about this travesty; they should be leading a protest of this.

Now let's look at Georgetown University Hospital

Small Dog! Big Carbon Footprint!

Apparently the presidential "first dog" Bo gets his own jet!  He and an aide flew ahead of the First Family to Bar Harbor, Maine earlier this week.  Read the comments at the end of this account of the canine travels.
Apparently dogs were viewed with disdain by Muhammad and traveling with them was viewed as taboo.  In England, there are difficulties with Muslim bus and cab drivers expelling blind passengers who travel with guide dogs because the dogs are held to be "unclean".

I cannot help but have my own suspicions about this.  Whom might the Obamas be trying to placate?  Even if they're not giving Bo his own jet to satisfy muslim proclivities, it's still unconscionable that the taxpayers must foot the bill for "canine first class" and then be told that we must tighten our own belts to boot.

Creative Sidewalk Counseling

See this article and film clip of a persistent pastor in North Carolina determined to preach the truth despite obstacles put in his way.  God bless Pastor Wallace for his tenacity!

Contributing Factors to the Church's Problems

In order to address the problems currently facing the Church, it behooves us all to try to examine just how these problems came to be.  Quite a few people point to the Vatican II Council in the mid 1960s as the start of the Church's problems.  Many sedevacantists seem to be of that opinion.  Some deeper thought into the matter makes plain the illogic behind that somewhat simplistic theory.  While the misapplications of the proceeds of the Council may have made the problems apparent, by no means did the problems originate from the council.

Common sense only makes that clear.  The same crowd that blames Vatican II claims that a number of mefarious bishops undermined the Church via that council.  Well think about it for a minute.  I tend to concur that some bishops were clearly off the wall.  But when did those individuals become bishops?  Clearly they weren't ordained the day before the Council started.  Many of them were occupying high positions in the church long before the start of the Council.

Quite a few of the pre-conciliar but modern popes saw problems on the horizon.  Pope Leo XIII, to address the problems, wrote prayers for the protection of the Church and directed that they be said after every Low Mass; the very familiar Prayer to St Michael is one of those prayers.  Pope St Pius X wrote Pascendi Dominici Gregis and Lamentabili Sane to address specifically the growing threat posed by modernists.

Clearly modernism was a threat and it had made footholds within the Church.  How?  I came across a book put out by TAN Publishing.  It's called Christ Denied and was written by Rev Paul A Wickens.  The author delves into what he believes were the origins of the problems with clerical formation in Europe during the early 1900s.  He focused on three priests who embraced modernism and who were influential teachers.  The first was George Tyrrell, a British Jesuit.  He had profound influence over the second, Teilhard de Chardin.  I've attempted  to read one of the works of the latter - talk about a convoluted mess.  But that's how he got away with spreading error.  He influenced many, including American seminarians sent to Europe to "study" - and lose their faith.  A German pupil of Chardin's was Karl Rahner.  I do recommend that you read it.  Go to the website of TAN Books and search the title and author.  I don't believe Father Wickens supplied the entire picture, but I suspect he supplied a crucial part.

Update on Howell vs University of Illinois

Recall that Dr Kenneth Howell, retained by the University of Illinois to teach a course on Catholic studies, was fired for doing precisely that.  Apparently Catholic truth ruffled politically correct feathers over there, and the university promptly fired Dr Howell.  Well they let him retain his title, but he can't teach classes.

Since then, thousands have rallied in support of Dr. Howell.  Not all are Catholic; some in fact are atheists who are indignant at the abridging of academic freedom displayed by the university.  I urge you to read this Lifesite News article and the article from TFP Student Action; the latter contains Dr Howell's account of the events.  As I read the latter, I wonder what sort of person this Msgr Gregory Ketcham is; at the very best, his spine appears to be made of linguine.  Both articles contain links to petitions.

In the first article, what I find interesting is that there are thinly disgused enemies of the church who do not want the Church to have anything to say with how the Church is presented.  Such a notion is absurd on its face.  What these folks are trying to do is to define Catholcism for themselves - with no input from Catholics.  Can you imagine any other group being content with such treatment?  I can't either - so why should Catholics be expected to sit still for that nonsense?  I've said this before, and I'll say it again.  There is a move afoot in progresive circles to relegate Catholics to the status of "niggers of the new age".  If that term offends some, well, that's just tough tiddly-winks!  You don't want to hear it?  Then stop treating us as such!  I do commend those honest atheists who are standing by Dr. Howell.

Ayn Rand and the Culture of Death

I have long believed that what commonly passes as "libertarianism" is incompatible with Catholic morals.  I may be wrong, but one of their main tenets is that "man is his/her own".  No.  While man is not property of the State, he/she is that of God.

Read this article as some "food for thought".

Voters' Remorse? There's (Real) Hope!

Did you get swept away by all the hype and smooth talk of the Messiah Most Miserable and the Miraclulous Teleprompter?  Now that it looks like we may all go into debt as we pay for baby-murder, do you now regret that "Hope and Change" nonsense that's stuck to your car bumper?  Then this is for you!  (Click here if you can't see embedded videos)

Priests! We Need YOU in Front of the Abortion Killing Centers!

While the prayers of the laity have availed much (and much more than we'll know in this life), we need those who are endued with graces proper to the Sacrament of Holy Orders, whose prayers do have sacerdotal effects.  The priests in the video were using the Church prayers as found in Father Thomas Euteneuer's book, Exorcism and the Church Militant. See below. (Click here if you cannot see embedded video).

So where can you go to lend a prayer?

Education in the Messianic Crosshairs

Anyone with their eyes half open knows that one of the worst things to happen to education in this country is the Department of Education.  It might just be as well known as the Department of Stupifying and Brainwashing.  Having a minor in secondary education from the University of Maryland, I know that John Dewey is held to be the undisputed "father of modern education".  He most likely is.  He also was a signer of the first Humanist Manifesto.  Go to this link and read the principles enumerated in the various versions.  You'll see that many of them are very much implemented and taught in public education today.

But the process of education take-over must have been deemed by the Messiah to be incomplete - and he is working (behind Congress' back) to "rectify" that situation by dictating new standards.  Again, this is White House fiat, a flat-out exercise in dictatorship.

We also see a state-by-state initiative to corrupt our youngsters.  Watch the clip below from American Life League (If you cannot see embedded videos, click here).

Local Diocese Investigates Firing of Professor at University of Illinois

The American Papist reports that the Diocese of Peoria is making inquiries of the University of Illinois over the firing of Dr Ken Howell after the latter was dismissed for representing the Church's teaching regarding the gay lifestyle (this done in the context of a Catholic studies course).

At least they are taking notice of this matter and letting the University (and the world at large) know that they are taking this matter seriously.  Clearly that is an improvement over the dismissive attitude portrayed by the Diocese of St Cloud after Professor PZ Myers of the University of Minnesota (Morris) drove a rusty nail through the Eucharist (and some pages of the Koran - he's an "equal opportunity" buffoon) and threw all in the trash amidst much internet fanfare two years ago.

Let us pray that the Diocese of Peoria has the tenacity to see the matter through and to come to the defense of the Faith.

Naughtiness in Annapolis!

Two days ago, I blogged about the abortion funding-by-subterfuge that the Messiah Most Miserable was trying to accomplish in Pennsylvania.  Now there's much back-peddling going on.

Well, it now seems that Maryland was caught with its hand in the proverbial cookie jar - this from Jill Staneck's blog

Again, fellow Marylanders - this whole sticking cabal is up for re-election in a few months.  Be on the lookout for my recommendations.  (Reminder - since Faithful Catholics in MD/DC is not a tax-exempt charity, we are not muzzled by those onorous IRS regs).

Obama Shows His Imperious Streak

From the Baltimore Examiner we read that "the White House issued new rules that require Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) to provide free services for dozens of screening, laboratory, and other types of preventive testing measures."  Read that a few times and let the implications become clear in your minds.  And no, I'm not looking at this from a "health care" aspect.  There are much more fundamental issues here, more basic threats that are embodied in this action.

Think in terms of the United States Constitution.  Remember that quaint little document, the one that our elected officials (and law enforcement officials) swear to uphold as they take their oaths of office?  Let's "drill down" a bit and consider a key constitutional concept, namely, separation of powers.  Recall that it is in the purview of the legislative branch to enact laws.  Is the White House part of the legislative branch?  Of course not; it's a key component of the executive branch, whose function it is to execute laws issued by the legislative branch.  In other words, the White House doesn't issue laws "on the fly", as it were.  That means basically that the White House had no constitutional authority whatsoever to make what amounts to a de facto imperial pronouncement.

The Founding Fathers feared just such a thing as is embodied in the Examiner article.  I now beg leave to give a my own translation of what issued yesterday from the White House:

"Hear ye, hear ye!  Harken now, ye Great Unwashed, miserable peasants that you are!  I, the Messiah Most Miserable, will now dictate how insurance industries must conduct their business, in utter conformity with my messianic will and ego!"   Does that sound farcical?  I wish I could agree!

We need to vote next November those who will uphold life and who will vote to repeal the deadly Obama Hell Bill.

Did USCCB Grease The Skids for Obamacare?

Michael Hichborn of American Life League reminds us all of the USCCB's role in the debacle that occurred last March when the Hell Bill was passed.  They tried to engage in the myth that the Hell Bill mess could be "abortion neutral", even though it was rife with anti-life provisions.  (Click here if you cannot see embedded video).

"But there's this executive order to prevent abortion funding!", some will insist on declaring.  Well, boys and girls, have a seat because you will be shocked - just shocked! - to hear that the Messiah Most Miserable is awarding Pennsylvania $160 million for a "high-risk insurance program" that will fund abortions.  Read the details from Lifesite News

Those of us who did not just jump off the turnip truck knew this was just a matter of time.  Thank you, Sister Carol, and yes, thank you USCCB for furthering the murdering of babies because of your insane lust for a socialistic utopia!

In Washington DC, August 13 - 14th

You may remember that Rev Patrick Mahoney, director of Christian Defense Coalitioin, was arrested last month for praying on the PUBLIC sidewalk in front of Planned Parenthood on 16th Street.

You are invited to come to Washington DC on August 13th-14th to witness against that attrocity and the bigger horror of abortion, as it occurs just blocks from the White House.

Please go to the site http://atimetostand.org/ for more background and details.  I hope to see some of you there!

Scandal at Manhattan Parish in Archdiocese of New York

This involves a Jesuit-run parish, St Francis Xavier.  It's no surprise to me that it's Jesuit-run, for reasons that Voris mentions.  I need not "reinvent the wheel" here.  Rather, I urge you to watch the Vortex video and the others pertinent to the situation.  (Click here if you can't see embedded videos)

The supporting videos and documentations can be seen here.  Contact information for the archdiocese is given.  This is a most serious matter, as Archbishop Dolan himself appears to be embroiled in the facilitation of the gay lifestyle in the Archdiocese of New York.

Onorous Taxes Await Us in 2011

Read below for just some of the ways that the vampires in Washington, led by the Messiah Most Miserable, will bleed us dry!

First Wave: Expiration of 2001 and 2003 Tax Relief

In 2001 and 2003, the GOP Congress enacted several tax cuts for investors, small business owners, and families. These will all expire on January 1, 2011:

Personal income tax rates will rise. The top income tax rate will rise from 35 to 39.6 percent (this is also the rate at which two-thirds of small business profits are taxed). The lowest rate will rise from 10 to 15 percent. All the rates in between will also rise. Itemized deductions and personal exemptions will again phase out, which has the same mathematical effect as higher marginal tax rates. The full list of marginal rate hikes is below:
- The 10% bracket rises to an expanded 15%
- The 25% bracket rises to 28%
- The 28% bracket rises to 31%
- The 33% bracket rises to 36%
- The 35% bracket rises to 39.6%

Higher taxes on marriage and family. The “marriage penalty” (narrower tax brackets for married couples) will return from the first dollar of income. The child tax credit will be cut in half from $1000 to $500 per child. The standard deduction will no longer be doubled for married couples relative to the single level. The dependent care and adoption tax credits will be cut.

The return of the Death Tax. This year, there is no death tax. For those dying on or after January 1 2011, there is a 55 percent top death tax rate on estates over $1 million. A person leaving behind two homes and a retirement account could easily pass along a death tax bill to their loved ones.

Higher tax rates on savers and investors. The capital gains tax will rise from 15 percent this year to 20 percent in 2011. The dividends tax will rise from 15 percent this year to 39.6 percent in 2011. These rates will rise another 3.8 percent in 2013.

Second Wave: Obamacare  (We can especially thank Sister Carol Keehan for this bloodletting).

There are over twenty new or higher taxes in Obamacare. Several will first go into effect on January 1, 2011. They include:

The “Medicine Cabinet Tax” Thanks to Obamacare, Americans will no longer be able to use health savings account (HSA), flexible spending account (FSA), or health reimbursement (HRA) pre-tax dollars to purchase non-prescription, over-the-counter medicines (except insulin).

The “Special Needs Kids Tax” This provision of Obamacare imposes a cap on flexible spending accounts (FSAs) of $2500 (Currently, there is no federal government limit). There is one group of FSA owners for whom this new cap will be particularly cruel and onerous: parents of special needs children. There are thousands of families with special needs children in the United States, and many of them use FSAs to pay for special needs education. Tuition rates at one leading school that teaches special needs children in Washington, D.C. (National Child Research Center) can easily exceed $14,000 per year. Under tax rules, FSA dollars can be used to pay for this type of special needs education.

The HSA Withdrawal Tax Hike. This provision of Obamacare increases the additional tax on non-medical early withdrawals from an HSA from 10 to 20 percent, disadvantaging them relative to IRAs and other tax-advantaged accounts, which remain at 10 percent.

Third Wave: The Alternative Minimum Tax and Employer Tax Hikes

When Americans prepare to file their tax returns in January of 2011, they’ll be in for a nasty surprise—the AMT won’t be held harmless, and many tax relief provisions will have expired. The major items include:

The AMT will ensnare over 28 million families, up from 4 million last year. According to the left-leaning Tax Policy Center, Congress’ failure to index the AMT will lead to an explosion of AMT taxpaying families—rising from 4 million last year to 28.5 million. These families will have to calculate their tax burdens twice, and pay taxes at the higher level. The AMT was created in 1969 to ensnare a handful of taxpayers.

Small business expensing will be slashed and 50% expensing will disappear. Small businesses can normally expense (rather than slowly-deduct, or “depreciate”) equipment purchases up to $250,000. This will be cut all the way down to $25,000. Larger businesses can expense half of their purchases of equipment. In January of 2011, all of it will have to be “depreciated.”

Taxes will be raised on all types of businesses. There are literally scores of tax hikes on business that will take place. The biggest is the loss of the “research and experimentation tax credit,” but there are many, many others. Combining high marginal tax rates with the loss of this tax relief will cost jobs.

Tax Benefits for Education and Teaching Reduced. The deduction for tuition and fees will not be available. Tax credits for education will be limited. Teachers will no longer be able to deduct classroom expenses. Coverdell Education Savings Accounts will be cut. Employer-provided educational assistance is curtailed. The student loan interest deduction will be disallowed for hundreds of thousands of families.

Charitable Contributions from IRAs no longer allowed. Under current law, a retired person with an IRA can contribute up to $100,000 per year directly to a charity from their IRA. This contribution also counts toward an annual “required minimum distribution.” This ability will no longer be there.

November 2010 cannot come soon enough!

Bad Little Catholic Standard! Naughty, Naughty!

A little shame falls upon Yours Truly, actually, for not noticing this immediately.  I thank my colleague at A Washington DC Catholic for spotting this.  He noticed that the Catholic Standard itself was a sponsor for the kiss-up fest to Chris Matthews put on by the Catholic Network of Volunteer Services.

I needn't add to his excellent take on the Catholic Standard's role in this mess.  Please take a look at it.  I will however, link to the original page that shows the Standard's sponsorship, as that is a bit easier to read (at bottom).

Attacks on Pro-Life Pregnancy Centers Now On Federal Level

As we were engaged last December in the struggle to protect pro-life pregnancy centers in Montgomery County Maryland, we learned that the County Council attack was simply part of a larger plot by NARAL to cripple and strangle the pregnancy centers.  Most of the Montgomery County Council is in the back pockets of NARAL and NOW (one, Duchy Trachtenberg, has been or is, NOW Maryland president).

This sort of thing was also successfully tried in Baltimore, and has been attempted in other localities throughout the United States.  It's right out of NARAL's booklet called "Unmasking Fake Clinics - A Step by Step Guide".  And yes, I have a copy!

Now we hear that they are trying this sort of stunt on the Federal level.  Read the Lifesite News article.  These pro-aborts most likely think that with the current leadership in Congress and with the Messiah Most Miserable occupying the White House, they have a window of opportunity and want to seize it.  Perhaps they understandably fear that such window might close after the November 2010 elections.  At any rate, this must be stopped.

The House bill number is H.R. 2478, entitled "Stop Deceptive Advertising in Women's Services Act" (These people are utterly lacking in originality - but that's the least of their problems).  Its two lead sponsors are U.S. Rep. Maloney (D-NY) and Sen. Menendez (D-NJ).  Menendez is "catholyc", by the way.

When this action was being fought in Montgomery County, I reported on that quite extensively during last December and January.  In particular, I posted excerpts from the public Council hearings on this blog,  I urge you to review these posts to get some idea of the nature of this issue.

More on the Ground Zero Mosque Mischief

I won't rehash what my colleague at Les Femmes has done, so I urge you to go here.  Because she has videos that some may not be able to see, I'll provide the two youtube urls here and here.

More on the KofC PIcket

This from Ken Fisher of Concerned Roman Catholics of America.

As I have said in prior notices, we need to know how many persons are willing to stand up to the hypocrisy of the Knights’ leadership that proclaims that it is pro-life, all the while protecting the memberships of prominent public figures, especially politicians, who openly promote the abortion and sodomite agendas by among other transgressions, ordering their Grand Knights to ignore their Constitution and By-Laws that clearly demand expulsion of such errant members.

We will have to make a decision as to how to best proceed in our efforts by next Friday, July 16th as to whether or not we will fly to Washington, D.C or whether we will go to plan B with Press Releases denouncing these blatant acts of hypocrisy on the part of the “Knights of Columbus “leadership”.

If you are willing to stand up and be counted as a member of the Church Militant in these efforts, please let us know no later than Friday, July 16. You can do so by E-Mail at: crcoa@dslextreme.com, by phone at: 714-491-2284, or by Snail Mail at: P.O. Box 8095, Anaheim, CA 92812-8095. You can also contact me , Kenneth M. Fisher, Founder & Chairman, on his cell phone at: 714-260-3821.

Catholic Standard Acquieces to Pop (Or Slop) Culture

Perhaps one hallmark of today's Culture of Death may be the fascination of teens and young people in the occult.  Anyone with an iota of sense understands that occultish accrutements often serve as sedgeways into satanic dabblings.  The so-called "goth" subculture is one facet.  In the 1960's we saw this creep in with TV shows such as "Bewitched" and "Dark Shadows".  Nowadays we see fascination with vampires and such, with shows such as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and the "Twilight" movies.  Again, it is the oblivious fool who holds these things to be nothing more than harmless fads.

Unfortunately, this week the Catholic Standard joined this less-than-stellar crowd of fools with its review of the movie "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse".  I won't go into all the details of the storyline and various characters.  Suffice it to say that I cannot fathom how an ostensibly Catholic newspaper can be so neglectful as to make no mention of the spiritual perils inherent with this "goth" culture.  In fact, I'd say this review could only serve to whet the curiousity of the youngster with this movie.  More disgustingly, the Catholic News Service rates this movie as A-II (adults and adolescents).  Why this isn't considered "morally objectionable" I'll never know.

Let me bring in other considerations, if spiritual matters are of no interest to supposedly Catholic news media.  It seems that many teenagers, due to direct influence of these "twilight/vampire" things, are now biting each other - all in the name of "love", of course!  Mothers!  Don't you remember having to teach your toddlers that biting others was mean and unaccepable?  I'm sure that biting was grounds for some "time-outs" sitting in a corner.  And now some very mixed-up kids are claiming that to be "love and affection"?  Well if that's "love" I wouldn't want to see "hatred".  Besides most folks with common sense know that's a great way to spread disease.

Many young people are very misguided.  The Catholic Standard and Catholic News Servicee, with this review, are exacerbating the problems of young people.  Shame on them.

Gonzaga Commencement - 2009

I came across this video by accident.  This seems to indicate that Gonzaga has developed, or is developing, a pattern of putrifying its commencement exercises.  They are "performing" (using the term loosely) the song "Circle of Life" from the Lion King.  Whatever else one might think of that song, it has no place in a Catholic Church.  Yes, you "men for others".  St Aloysius Church is precisely that - a Catholic Church, where Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament deserves complete honor.  Here's the video (Click here if you can't see embedded videos).

I must say, however, that a repeat of the above performance would have been the "lesser of two evils" in comparison with Sister Carol Keehan's presence there.

Turning People Into Sheeple

I don't know who Alex Jones is, but in this video he is spot-on.  For a long time, I've wondered at the mentality (or lack thereof) of grown adults who don't know who their two US Senators are, but can give you the shack-up history of any given movie/music star.  As they prostrate themeselves before that electronic deity known as the television for hours on end, their brains will turn to mush as they become unable to think two coherent thoughts in a sequence.  Also consider the dumbed-down education that the NEA-type progressives are cramming down the throats of our children (particularly the de-emphasis on language skills).  I've no doubt that all this is a coordinated effort to make the US citizenry into helpless sheeple who will take their directivies from the parent-surrogate known as the government, as long as the government keeps them entertained and supplies for their creature comforts.  Watch this video (click here if you can't see embedded videos).

The "Canonization" of Robert Byrd Continues

True to regretable form, the Catholic Standard, in its July 8th edition, joined in the obesiance being heaped upon Byrd.  Let's face it - the only reason this is being done is that Byrd was a prominent politician who wielded considerable influence.  This slobber-fest by the Standard is online.

As you read it, you'll see that Byrd was part of the Ku Klux Klan (he was for quite some time), but then became a "champion of civil rights".  Of course the Standard lauds Byrd's support of the DC Opportunity Scholarship Program - for the poor children, of course.

But he did not champion all poor children - just those who were fortunate enough to escape the abortionists suction machines.  And what about the "civil rights" of the aborted children?  Well, pardon my french, but in his advocacy of baby-murder (earning him top scores from NARAL), he basically said "to hell with those tiny babies" as he voted time and time again to facilitate their murders!

An important aside.  I'd suggest all watch the move Maafa 21, as it makes clear the historical link between the KKK and other eugenists, and the push to legalize abortion (Order it by clicking here).  It is no coincidence whatsoever that 40% of the abortions in our country are done to black babies, while they only comprise 13% of the total US population.  Maybe Byrd left the KKK, but he advanced their agendas right up to the end of his life

To the directors and staff of the Catholic Standard and to Bishop Bransfield - By your heaping of adulation upon Robert Byrd, you make clear that the tiny babies he helped to murder are in fact as nothing in your own eyes!  Shame on you!  Pray for God's mercy upon the man, by all means.  But don't carry on as though he already enjoys the Beatific Vision - for that is seriously in doubt at this time.

Guess Who's Endorsing the New Health-Rationing Czar???

The Messiah Most Miserable did a "recess appointment" yesterday, nominating Dr Donald Berwick as administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.  He has made numerous statements at odds with decent medicine regarding health rationing and end-of-life issues.

Well, guess who issued this statement, "We agree that the administration needs Dr. Berwick in place now as CMS chief in order to work on the mandates created under the health care overhaul, especially since CMS has not had a permanent administrator since 2006..Dr. Berwick is a visionary with great insight and knowledge of the health care delivery system based on his perspectives as a physician and teacher, as well as being a decades' long champion for safe, effective high-quality care."

Can't guess?  Here are some hints:
  1. Cardinal McCarrick has gone out of his way to honor her.
  2. A goodly number of us picketed her appearance at Gonzaga's commencement.
  3. The USCCB issued public statements deploring her stances.
Yep!  It's Sister Carol Keehan!  How many times can she put her foot in her mouth?  Perhaps as many times as it requires to ensure that the Catholic Health Association gets a "piece of the pie"?  Of course that's just speculation, but an arguably reasonable one - wouldn't you say?

The Oligarchy of Montgomery County MD

Do you remember the post from Sunday regarding various forms of government and their relevance to the USA?  The below email from Maryland Citizens for a Responsble Government details what happens when those in elected office think and act as though they're above the law under which we all live.  Some background: two years ago, the Montgomery County Council passed a "transgender rights" bill that infringes upon the rights of others to be safe in public places, e.g. rest rooms, showers, etc.  Many of us, led by MCRG, engaged in a petition drive to bring the measure to referendum.  A chief legislative aide to the bill's main sponsor is under investigation for allegedly intimidating petition gatherers and signers during the drive.  Now the aide and the bill sponsor are claiming "legislative privilege" in refusing to answer ethics questions.

Saint Robert Byrd????

Well, according to West Virginia's Bishop Bransfield, he is!  Hear how the bishop delivered his final boot-licking to Robert Byrd.  As you listen to Voris scold the bishops for literally kissing the hands that strike at the Church, think also of Cardinal McCarrick toadying up to Ted Kennedy and Sister Carol Keehan.  Think of all the bishops who refuse to obey Canon 915 for fear of offending powerful CINO pro-aborts.  Well, at least I hope it's fear and not outright agreement with the CINO's dissident positions!

What can we do?  I suggested below participation in a picket of the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council Meeting.  They too behave as wimps - at least their top leadership does.

A special note about the picket - If you are planning to participate, please let Mr Fisher know (contact info in original post).  He has to have at least 10 firm commitments to have maximum impact; else he may have to cancel.  Thanks for considering this important effort.

Help Picket Knights of Columbus 2010 Supreme Council Meeting!

From my colleague, Ken Fisher..

THE "KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS" NEED TO BE MADE TO WALK THE STRAIGHT AND NARROW PATH!

We are now getting down to the final wire, and we need to know approximately how many Catholics are willing to stand up as members of the "Church Militant" to draw attention to the gross hypocrisy of an Organization that publicly professes to be pro-life and pro-family all the while protecting the membership of those on their rosters who are public figures and are publicly militantly pro-abortion and pro-sodomite.

The "Concerned American Roman Catholics of America, Inc." is planning to demonstrate outside of all places where these Knights meet during their 2010 Supreme Council Meeting in Washington, D.C., August 3-5, 2010, and we need a rough estimate of just how many persons we can rely on. I myself , God willing, .am committed to being there, and we plan on flying John O'Gorman in from Massachusetts as well. We plan to have a large sign with the very incriminating letter that the Supreme Office sent out ordering Grand Knights not to take action against such errant Knights, this in spite of the fact that their Constitution calls for such expulsion.

Please let us know of any groups or individuals that we can count on for this vital demonstration.

Yes, we are in dire need of funds to carry this out. Contributions can be made through our Website at: www.crcoa.com, or by mail at: Treasurer, P.O. Box 8095, Anaheim, CA 92812-8095. Checks can be made out to "Concerned American Roman Catholics of America, Inc." or "CRCOA, Inc."

For more information, I can be reached at: 714-491-2284, or 714-260-3821(Cell).

God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher, Founder & Chairman
Concerned Roman Catholics of America, Inc

And now my notes:  The meeting will take place at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel (2660 Woodley Road, NW).  While the meet of the meeting will occur August 3-5, delegates will be arriving during the preceding weekend (Fri Jul 30 - Mon Aug 2).  That's helpful for those who cannot be there during the week because of jobs, etc.  More info can be found at http://www.kofc.org/un/eb/en/conv/2010/index.html.

Why the picket?  For background, I refer you to http://restore-dc-catholicism.blogspot.com/2010/05/judie-brown-on-kofc-cowardice.html, to http://restore-dc-catholicism.blogspot.com/2010/05/real-catholic-tv-on-kofc-wimp-out.html and http://restore-dc-catholicism.blogspot.com/2010/05/knights-of-columbus-play-wimps.html.

A final note - Please coordinate all efforts with Mr. Fisher, not this blogger, as this is his initiative.  He gave his contact information.  Thank you.

Kagan: Catholic Church Can't Recruit on Campus?

It's so hard to keep up with this woman's continuous tap-dancing.  What is clear, though, is that she is having trouble disguising her anti-God, anti-Constitution, pro-socialist, progressive leanings.  When asked whether or not Harvard would have banned the Church from recruiting on campus (because women aren't eligible for the priesthood), she replied that, well, I'll let you read and watch the spectacle yourselves.

Marylanders! Take Part in Cardin's Questionnaire!

The question he's asking is, "Do you support the confirmation of Solicitor General Elena Kagan to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court?"

To let him know what you think, go to http://www.cardin.senate.gov/.

Do so now, please - and let others know!

By the way - his seat is up for grabs in 2012.

Catholyc Feminazi: "Feel Guilty for NOT Aborting"

Yep!  You read that right - although if we think about it, we knew this was coming down the pike.

Elfrede Harth, at a "Women Deliver" conference in Washington DC last month, made that ludicrous statement.  Read more

She made other statements, some of which contradict each other - that is, if you understand some basic logic.  But what role does logic play in the pro-death, progressive mentality?  But I digress!  Here are her rather dubious oracles.

First, she spouts the rather-familiar complaint that the "Church suppresses freedom of conscience" for those who favor permissve attitudes towards child-murder.

Then she spouts the contradictory but equally nonsensical statement.  I'll pull this directly from the Lifesite News report.  Ultimately, said Harth, a woman has a right to abort because she "has a right to have a good life" and she does not have "the right to ruin it." "And if a pregnancy is going to ruin her life in any way, she has a right to get the abortion. She has the right. She has an obligation to protect her life from being ruined. ... Because you owe this respect to yourself because you're a child of God. You should feel guilty if you don't," she said

Do you see the contradiction?  Harth is saying that a pregnant woman doesn't have the "right to ruin her life."  But who gets to define for that hypothetical woman what constitutes "ruination of her life"?  Apparently Harth doesn't believe such a woman has a right to her freedom of conscience!  Harth is making clear that she is pro-death, and will do what she can to promote death as opposed to life.

We see this all the time at the abortuaries, with the deathscorts.  Their own consciences are so seared that they actaully want the women going in to have the abortions - no doubt to justify their actions and perhaps their own abortions.  They will always try to prevent us from approaching them, they will try to confiscate from the women information that we gave them (so much for alternatives, so so much for choice).  We've even seen them turn a blind eye from women who are obviously being dragged into the mills.

Anyone who promotes abortion in any way, shape, fashion or form is living a lie.  The only way they can justify that lie is to perpetuate it in as many people as possible - whether those people want it or not!  That is being the push this past year to gag the pregnancy centers in Baltimore City and Montgomery County, and elsewhere in the country.

Does "Freedom of Worship" = "Freedom of Religion"?

NO!  "Freedom of religion" is a God-given right (not government-granted).  The First Amendment of the US Constitution guarantees that the government will do nothing to infringe upon that right.  Implicit in such guarantee is government's acknowledgment of its subordination to the individuals who comprise the US citizenry - and their God.

Listen now to Chuck Colson as he exposes progressive attempts to diminish our understanding of our God-given rights.  (Click here if you can't see embedded videos)

Limbaugh and Levin Converse about America

As you listen to this, notice how Mark Levin makes clear that the republic that this nation is depends on an acknowledgement of God and adherence to God's moral order for the United States to survive, function and succeed.  (Click here if you can't see embedded videos)

Republic vs Democracy

I came across the following video and thought that it did a reasonably good job of explaining that the United States of America was founded as a republic and not a democracy.  (Click here if you can't see embedded videos)

One thing I might add is that as the Romans started enjoying their prosperity, they also forgot their morals.  They became slothful and thus desirous of a government that would assume the responsiblity of providing for them - and running their lives!  Sound familiar?  It's happening today under the Messiah Most Miserable!

Understand that the Bill of Rights exists because the founding fathers understood that the majority could be wrong (e.g., in trampling the rights of a racial minority).  Doesn't that imply that there is an immutable standard of right vs wrong that is independent of the will of the people?  From whence did such a standard originate?  From the Delcaration of Independence, "we are endowed by our Creator".  Yep!  That means that our form of government makes absolutely no sense to dyed-in-the-wool atheists!  That's why some can dare to conceive that a person who despises constitutionally-guaranteed rights (Elena Kagan!) is fit to sit on the US Supreme Court!  Are dots being connected here?

We're quickly devolving to an oligarchy here.  We know who they are: Obama, Pelosi, Reed, George Soros (the real money-bags behind everything).  I'll close this post by suggesting a study of Alexander Tyler's cycle of national life; click this link and see where you might judge this country to be.

GOP - Will They Filibuster??

Orrin Hatch of Utah really needs to snap out of it.  He is of the old RINO school in thinking that this matter of Elena Kagan is not much more than some genteel debate.  On Thursday, he eschewed the idea of a filibuster as "an unheard of, dirty thing to do".  Uh, no it isn't, Senator!  Not when you're talking of someone who is pro-abortion, pro-gay, anti-First Amendment and anti- Second Amendment.   Fortunately, Jeff Sessions, the ranking Republican of the Senate Judiciary Committee, is open to the idea.  However, we need more teeth than that.

Ladies and gentlemen of the GOP, we are fighting for the soul of this nation.  We need you to roll up your sleeves, to be willing to get dirt under your fingernails, and to fight tooth and nail to keep this woman away from that Supreme Court bench.

There is some hopeful signs that they are waking up.  Hatch, to his credit, has stated that he would cast an opposing vote for her.  At least one pro-abortion senator is concerned enough about Kagan's lack of judicial experience and her activism that she will oppose Kagan (at least for now).

It is incumbent upon each and every one of us to contact our Senators to:: 1) voice opposition to Kagan, 2) urge the conservatives to filibuster her and 3) that your vote for the senator will depend on their resolve during this confirmation/opposition process.

Open Letter to the Catholic Standard

I posted last week regarding the celebration of Cardinal McCarrick's 80th birthday.  In that post I lamented that Sister Carol Keehan was a lector at that Mass.  While I was away, the July 1st issue of the Catholic Standard was released.  In it was a report, written by the editor Mark Zimmerman, on the Mass and other celebration details.  However - lo and behold - there was not one mention of the presence of Sister Carol.  I find that to be somewhat disingenuous.  Thus, I have written an open letter to Mr Zimmerman to let him know that not all of us are clueless ostriches with heads in sand.  We must call these people on such shenanigans.  And now, the letter...

Catholic Investigative Agency - Part 2

A few months ago, I published a link to a special series done by Real Catholic TV, called "Catholic Investigative Agency".  A new installment is now available.  Since it's too long for youtube, it needs to be viewd on their site at this link.  It is approximately 90 minutes long, but well worth the time investment.

In this segment, Michael Voris explores the deliberate attempts of the progressive types to further infiltrate the Catholic Church for the express purpose of compromising and watering down her teachings on morals.  Note carefully a few things:
  • Voris points out that Catholic moral teaching, as found in all Papal documents from Leo XIII onward, makes clear that the focus is on the individual and not some "collective".  I'll elaborate more on that later - but let's note the fact that we're now in the Independence Day weekend.  The two are related.
  • He delves a bit into the backgrounds of the founders of Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good (CACG).  I've blogged a bit on this problematic outfit.  Despite their claims of "non-partisanship", they are very "partisan", as in the "Party of Death" (Archbishop Burke's very accurate term for the Democrats).
  • He delves into the writings of CACG's chairman, Alfred M. Rotondaro.  I went to the newsmeat website and found his campaign contributions.  See for yourself here.  Recipients include Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Patrick Leahy, Bob Casey Jr., Mary Landrieu, John Edwards - the usual cabal.  Here is a link pertaining to the article about which Voris spoke, and here's the link to the orginal Huffington Post article.
  • A founder of CACG is Tom Periello, a pro-abort congressperson from Virginia (oh, I forgot!  Rotondaro contributed to him, too).  Guess how he voted on the Obama Hell Bill?
  • Another board member is Tom Chabolla.  Does that name sound familiar?  Reminder - he's high up in the SEIU.  That's the union that supplied many of the thugs that trampled all over the private property of the Bank of America official, terrorizing the minor child.  I guess that's their version of "the common good".
  • A major funder is (surprise!) George Soros.  He funded a lot of the legal push, if you recall, to further the legalized murder of Terri Schiavo.  He wrote a book called The Age of Fallibility, in which he said, "the main obstacle to a stable and just world order is the United States".  I suppose we could get the book, but really - he shouldn't get any more royalties from that crap.
  • As I said in the first bullet, we celebrate this weekend the signing of the Declaration of Independence.  This document, along with the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights, focus on the rights of the individual person as being bestowed upon him/her by God.  We see in this current administration, headed by the Messiah Most Miserable, a push towards subsuming the individual into a "collective".  I'd recommend a book that delves much into that, along with the psychologicial anomalies that warp common sense into a "progressive" mentality.  The book is: The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness by Lyle H Rossiter, Jr, M.D.  I got mine from Worldnet Daily, but I'm sure it can be acquired elsewhere.

The CNVS Dinner with Matthews

First, I am back after several days of vacation.  There is a bit of "catch-up" to do.

I notice from "A Washington DC Catholic" that the dinner did happen.  You'll notice from the comment from "Audrey" that we were told that it wasn't too hard to find out where it happened.  Well, why should it have been "hard" at all?  Of what were they ashamed?  Perhaps it was the obvious kiss-up to a pro-abortion loud-mouth such as Chris Matthews.  Or maybe they didn't want Matthews to go ballistic if he were to see us (and have subsequent rants and raves put a damper on their evening).

However, the mysery has been solved!  The CNVS issued a press release that divulged this secret location.  It happened in (drum roll, please) Chevy Chase, MD.

Don't you just love it when they get specific?  Sheesh!  What's the big secret?  They're behaving like roaches that had to scurry for cover when the lights shone on their misdeed!  They don't want us to know the location of the roach nest!  Well, what can you expect but guilty behavior?
