Are these two occurrences signs of desperation among the Messiah's Minions Most Mindless?
Many have heard by now that Secretary of HHS Kathleen Sebelius was found to be in violation of the Hatch Act by campaigning for Obama. During a talk she gave in her official capacity, she deviated from the script to throw in pitches for Obama and a local Democratic candidate. This was the opinion of the Office of Special Council. Of course she said that she had to "seek clarification" from lawyers - as if that shouldn't have been as plain as day to someone who's been in public office for many years now.
Well, there's now a "copycat" stunt in the news. At Brevard Community College in Cocoa Florida, a professor, Sharon Sweet, has been put on administrative leave after requiring her students to sign a pledge promising support of Obama and the Democratic ticket. In addition to the obviously unethical aspects of her deeds, she may be found to be in violation of Florida statute that is similar to the Hatch Act.
So they have to break laws and twist arms to get votes? Is this desperation, the tactics of despots - or both?
