There are times when I think I heard it all, when it comes to priorities of some prelates which can only be called "whacked out". Those times generally don't last too long for I invariably am taken aback by new whoppers (ht - Pewsitter). That happened again as I read Judie Brown's blog piece today.
Judie Brown, as most in the pro-life community know, is founder and president of American Life League, a leading Catholic and pro-life organization. In her article today, she relates how then-bishop Timothy Dolan backed out on an invitation by Pro-Life Wisconsin to give the invocation at their annual banquet in 2009. Why did he do that? Because Ms. Brown was to be the keynote speaker.
Ms. Brown is a staunch defender of the Catholic faith and lays it on the line. Some of our prelates are not so staunch (to say the least). Ms Brown has rebuked them in the past and continues to do so. That caused Bishop Dolan to recoil - in fear perhaps? Ms. Brown states quite well the irony of the situation. And I'll go on record as saying this; she also makes plain the hypocrisy of Cardinal Dolan, given these two actions of his over the years.
I'll ask a very important question. Was there any public protest outside the Astoria while this debacle was occurring? I have not heard of any. If there was a real Catholic presence out there, please advise via the comments.
Below is today's Vortex, with an examination of some of the wealthy pro-aborts who bankrolled that affair - including Al Smith IV. Click here if you can't see embedded video.
If there was any bright spot to an otherwise disgraceful moment in the history of the Catholic Church, Romney's talk was it. See below, or here if you can't see embedded video.
One little comment regarding the Vortex video..
ReplyDeleteI think Voris went a bit over the top with that "bring it on" remark. It's one thing to acknowledge that persecution will probably occur. But to cheer its impending approach I think is frowned upon by God; see Jonah chapter 4. I don't think we can wish for evil without crossing an impermissible line.
