Sheeple Sign Petition To Ban Pressure Cookers
The word "sheeple" is the only word I can concoct that fits folks who would beg the government to abridge their rights as adults. They seem to want a nanny-state! Well, all I can say is that the John Dewey-inspired progressive school system has done its job too well and Church leaders have done theirs abysmally.
I Agree With Obama!
Did anyone ever, ever think they'd see me utter those four words? Well, temperatures must have plummeted in certain warm subterranean areas for today the Messiah Most Miserable pronounced words that brought at least a moment of joy to every decent, sane human being. The miracle occurred during a press conference today when questioned about the failure of his administration. Granted, he spoke in a whiny snit-fit but still those words were music to our tired ears. Hear it for yourselves and relish it!
Glory - hallelujah! Will miracles ever cease??? His first utterance of decency and common sense during his entire political career were the words, "maybe I should just pack up and go home." I can only reply "AMEN!"
What's that? He was just joshing? Oh well, we can dream, can we not? And let's not forget that the fact that the words came out of his mouth indicates that the idea may well be percolating in that socialist brain of his. Maybe we had better start that collection to cover his moving expenses, after all!

Infanticide In Washington DC
After hearing how some abortionists suggest flushing of babies down toilets, it is (sadly) no surprise to hear of similar situations coming from baby-killers from within the nation's capital. Today Live Action released a video of a conversation with abortionist Cesare Santangelo of the Washington Surgi-Clinic (located at 2112 F St NW #400). Lifesite News and the Washington Post both published pieces about this video; needless to say, their perspectives differ ever so slightly.
I direct your attention to the rally announcement to the right. Lila Rose is one of the speakers. The other, Melissa Ohden, started life as one of those "aborted fetuses" who survived her mother's abortion attempt and who would have been considered fair game for vultures such as Santangelo, Gosnell, Carhart and way too many others.
Below I'm posting the full footage of the encounter that occurred at Washington Surgi-Clinic this past November.

A Young Strapping Muslim Socialist No Longer
That's what Barack Obama said of himself at the White House Correspondents' Dinner this past Saturday. He then followed it up with "you get a little gray". So only the "young strapping" part has changed? Well, this is his second term and he has no reason to worry about re-election. "It's just a joke", some might say? Can anyone imagine Ronald Reagan or one of the Bushes dropping such a stinker? For that matter, I can't imagine Bill Clinton letting loose with that one. So the mask is off, if anyone really was still bamboozled after all this time.
Here is a brief snippet from CNSNews.com. For those libs who don't trust them, not to worry - for the Washington Post carries the entire address.

Flushing Babies Down The Sewer
For this abortuary worker at a New York City abortuary, that is a perfectly acceptable method of disposing of murdered babies who emerge at their mothers' homes. You'll hear this worker casually give to Lila Rose this sage advise; her nonchalance can only stem from ignorance and/or callousness.
Before I post the video, I suggest you pay special attention at the 5:23 mark, where they discuss when it might be appropriate to call a hospital. The worker states in no uncertain terms that she is NOT supposed to do that. Sound familiar? Remember Jennifer Morbelli's death? Carhart likewise instructed her family not to contact the hospital. Only when he himself was incommunicado did the family finally contact Shady Grove Hospital; by that time it was too late. Also, notice the first woman started at the age of 16 (or so she says). Did the mill have her doing any unauthorized procedures as did Gosnell?
Please share this; pass it along for the mainstream media won't.

Literally Signing Away Their Rights!
Benjamin Franklin is credited with saying that "those who surrender essential liberties to obtain temporary security deserve neither and will lose both." Many of the products of progressive education and modern culture have allowed themselves to be rendered "sheeple", for lack of a better word. They are buying the codswallop that surrendering their Second Amendment rights will secure non-violence in society. Of course all that will do is make them even more vulnerable to violence and even tyranny from a government that no longer has constitutional restraints upon it.
The video below that just came to my attention is purportedly of a man telling folks that they should sign away the First Amendment to "get behind the president". I've no reason to assume this is a fake. That said, we see even more sheeple willing to be fleeced and ultimately slaughtered. It's way past time to wake up!

Virginia's Common-Sense Laws A Factor In Closing Abortuary
The Washington Post, mouthpiece for the baby-killers that it is, let loose with its screed entitled "Virginia's Assault on Abortion Claims a Victim". The hysterical wording implied that a human being died as a result of the law. Au contraire! The lives of human beings will most likely be saved!
The editorial starts off with this rather telling denial of fact claiming that "at abortion clinics.. the width of doorways..(has) little to do with the health of patients". Note - to see prima facae evidence of the lunacy underlying that lie, take a gander at the photo to the right, of a woman being carried out of a.the width of now-closed Birmingham abortuary - because they couldn't get a gurney through the doorways! They had to carry her down a dilapidated staircase and through a trash-filled ally!
The "victim" in this sorry excuse of an editorial is - was - Hillcrest Clinic of Norfolk VA. The only reason it closed, apparently, is because the owners were too cheap to bring their chop shop to minimum standards for safety. They did perform surgery, did they not? Were they not interested in making abortion (surgical procedure) as safe for the women as possible? Why were these so-called "champions of women" not willing to meet these standards but to even go beyond them? But no, they balked and shut their doors. And we are not complaining one bit. Good bye, Hillcrest, and good riddance! May many more hell holes suffer your fate!

From The "Audacity Of Dopes" Department
This past Thursday evening Obama was slated to be the main speaker at a Planned Parenthood gala in Washington DC. Prolifers raised a protest. A glimmer of common sense must have crossed the Messianic teleprompter for he canceled his appearance. Alas, that glimmer didn't last too long for he did speak at a Planned Parenthood event this morning. Hey! Even faux-messiahs know what side of the bread slice bears the butter! Even he must do obeisance to his money-bags and sugar-daddies!
Gun-Wielding Private Citizen Saves Lives
This incident occurred yesterday in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was on local news there. Did it make it onto any national media? You can bet your bottom dollar that if it had been the perpetrator with a gun that the Second-Amendment bashers (including silly prelates) would have been giving speeches hither and yon and renewing their calls for gun bans. But no, the silence is deafening. To their immense credit, the local police praise the yet-unnamed citizen for his quick-thinking, initiative and preparedness. If indeed the Second-Amendment bashers had their way, many more people at that store would have been injured before the police could respond.

Organizing For Action - Obama's Latest Schtick
The Messiah Most Miserable has launched yet another "community-organizing" stunt to shill for: 1) gun control, 2) immigration reform, and 3) progressive budget. And no, it is not - repeat NOT! - the USCCB being finally "unmasked"! Such a mistaken perception would be totally understandable, given that those three things are coincidentally (ahem!) favorite talking points of the USCCB.
My friend and colleague Stephanie Block exposes this in her latest article entitled "Organizing for Action: the Democratic Party's New Machine." She exposes some of the strange interconnections that these progressives have with those who dissent from the Church on key moral issues. For instance, Jim Wallis, head of Sojourners, waxes indignant at the National Rifle Association for high urban murder rates. However, he has come out in favor of the perversion of marriage and family life vis-a-vis "gay marriage", thus tearing down a bulwark of society and fomenting the conditions that induce people to behave violently. These people have absolutely no moral credibility and are to be exposed and resisted.

Bella Dodd And The School Of Darkness
First, a disclaimer. I don't subscribe to all the opinions of the producer of this video. Most notably, the producer is simply incorrect to imply that the Novus Ordo Mass is illicit. True, there are abuses of that Mass, but there were also abuses of the Tridentine as well. To hold that Novus Ordo is illicit is simply not Catholic. Let's not forget that Satan wants Catholics to depart from the One True Church, and he isn't too particular if they exit "stage left" or "stage right".
That said, what Ms. Dodd says deserves careful thought. The homosexual and heretical pollution of the priesthood was deliberate and long in the making. It didn't all happen in the 1960s; that's when the problem reared its ugly head and by that time its roots were well-established within the ranks of the clergy. I also will now link to the School of Darkness, her autobiography that details both her entry and exit from the errors of Communism, with Servant of God Archbishop Fulton Sheen being instrumental in the latter.

Congratulations To These Activist Sisters
In Melrose Park, IL, the Missionary Sisters of St Charles Borromeo helped spearhead a campaign to stop a strip club from opening in their community. It would have opened next to the convent, in violation of an ordinance forbidding strip clubs from operating within 1000 feet of a place of worship.
The sisters and citizens organized a vigil and petition drive that were successful in preventing the opening of the strip club. Way to go, Sisters (and other citizens)!

Nun-Sense From A LCWR Order
They are the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati, to be precise. Another blogger, Over the Rhine and Into the Tiber, caught a screen-shot of their webpage that clearly links to Catholics for Choice, who are obviously promoting baby-murder. Go over and take a look.
Not too surprisingly, the Skewers of Charity pulled down that rather embarrassing link. One might say they scrubbed their site. But if that's "scrubbing the site", they did a lousy job because approximately 60% of those links are to some questionable outfit. Here's a smattering from the "church and political systems" page that had contained the CFC link.
We start off with the American Catholic Council. One thing I'll say is that they're honest in their disobedience in calling for "women's ordination" while waxing lyrical over "the spirit of Vatican II". Did I say "honest"? Maybe not, for while they bray and bleat about their conference in Detroit in 2011, they fail to mention that the Archbishop of Detroit forbade them to use Church property and forbade his priests to have anything to do with that mess.
Moving on, we see Call to Action (evicted from the Diocese of Lincoln by Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz) and Catholic Climate Covenant. We also see Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, co-founded by Sebelius operative James Salt.
We also see Sojourners, founded by Jim Wallis. He recently came out in support of the perversion euphemistically called "gay marriage". Also notice the plethora of "community-organizing" outfits. Many of these you'll find in the American Life League's report on questionable CCHD grant recipients. I don't have time or space to delve into each of them; I leave it to your initiative.
Last week it was announced that Pope Francis concurs with the April 2012 assessment of the LCWR by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. Of course many of the usual gang of suspects are having hissies over it. No doubt they're surprised to find out that the Pope is, well, the Pope! Given what we just saw - professed religious promoting baby-slaughter - these people are in desperate need of reform.

Happy Earth Day! We Made It To Another One!
Did you know it was Earth Day? If not, your life is none the poorer I assure you. It's a rather recent mock celebration, having originated in 1970. Today Rush Limbaugh gave us some background on it, including some dire prophesies of doom that were uttered during the very first Earth Day. Somehow not too many of these charming predictions have come to pass. To wit:
- "In a decade (that is, 1980), urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive the pollution." I haven't seen too many of those!
- "The amount of sunlight will be cut in half by 1985." Now wait a cotton-pickin' minute! That would bring about massive chilling, right? What's the deal with "global warming"?
- There are many more examples of sheer nonsense that Limbaugh cites.
Limbaugh makes mention of the founder's rather chequered past. Now does that ring a bell regarding another politically-correct hoopla day? Yes! Kwanzaa! Read its official site! Then read this wikipedia piece - the whole thing. What a guy!
Update! It just came to my attention that today is also Vladimir Lenin's birthday! My! Such coincidences! Or perhaps the progressives are simply being "economical" by combining their "high holy days" together!

Progressive Poison At Blessed Sacrament In DC
Yesterday as I parked my car on Western Avenue to attend Mass at Blessed Sacrament (just off Chevy Chase Circle) another Mass-goer came from behind me and parked his car on Quesada St, just outside the church's side door. He got out and went in.
I could not help but notice as he drove past me the garish rainbow-colored "Obama" bumper strip on his car. I realized he was in desperate need of some education. Fortunately I always carry a supply of Wisdom on Windshields. It is an educational flyer that can be placed on the car of the obviously oblivious fellow Catholic. I placed it on his car and went into the church myself. I was dismayed (but not too terribly surprised) to notice that this man was the lector for the Mass. By the time I left Mass, he had already driven away.
Before I continue with what I saw at Blessed Sacrament, I'll say a few words on behalf of Wisdom on Windshields. It's particularly helpful if you see such a sight but are rushing into Mass and/or not see the car owner. No problem! Just deposit a Wisdom on Windshields flyer under the wiper or in the car door (make sure it can't blow away). You can download it here and have it handy on your own computer. Print it out and always carry a supply with you to Church, as you'll never know when an opportunity will arise to educate an ignorant fellow Catholic. Those of you in other areas of the country should feel free to copy the language to your own letterhead, if that will be more helpful to your local situation. Understand that the distribution of this flyer is an exercise of the Spiritual Works of Mercy of Instructing the Ignorant and/or Rebuking the Sinner, depending on the knowledge/culpability of the recipient (which we of course have no way of knowing).
I resume my discussion of Blessed Sacrament. I picked up a parish bulletin. Because it was Saturday, the bulletin actually was for the previous weekend. Here it is. Now go to page 4 and look at the left-hand column. Why, oh why, is anything by Sister Joan Chittister being put forth as being suitable reading for Catholics? At Blessed Sacrament, is any responsible adult monitoring the goings-on at the parish library? I ask not only because of their dubious offerings but because I understand that it was the library that invited both Chris Matthews and Mark Shriver for their book-signings (both of which we picketed, by the way).
Moving down to page 5, on the right-hand side, we see that Blessed Sacrament is touting a celebration of Earth Day. "Well, so what?", one might ask. The problem is that the Washington Interfaith Network is spearheading this. WIN makes no bones that they are the DC-area affiliate of the Industrial Areas Foundation. As you look on their webpage, you'll see that they were "founded in 1940". By whom? Well they weren't always so coy about that little detail. The fact is that the IAF was the flagship organization founded by Saul Alinsky himself. The wikipedia (correctly) states that among the many people he influenced was Barack Obama. He also influenced Msgr Jack Egan, who was instrumental in establishing the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.
Now not only is the bulletin giving credibility to Alinskyites, but notice something else about the ad. They want to "reduce storm water pollution". Sounds nice, doesn't it? Well, the Maryland parishioners might want to take notice of that one in light of the "rain tax" with which Annapolis just saddled us.
I decided to take a look at this weekend's bulletin. Go to page 4. You'll see unabashed shilling for gun registration and the Catholic "climate covenant". Meanwhile prominent parishioners sport Obama stickers on their cars and the librarian hosts katholyc pro-aborts to sign their books on Church property. Boys and girls, what is wrong with this picture?

A Chuckle We Can All Use
Of course it may be too close to the truth to be humorous - but this current administration is, at best, a joke.
Father Guarnizo Responds To Bill O'Reilly Bible-Thumping Comments
On the topic of gay marriage Bill O'Reilly seems to be taking great umbrage at conservatives who seek to uphold marriage AND to respect those who recognize the Bible as God's Word. Go to this Business Insider article. Embedded therein is a clip of him literally having a temper-snit at Laura Ingraham. I can only conclude that he knows he is incorrect and is lashing out over a stung conscience. In this BI clip, you'll see the video of Rush Limbaugh to which O'Reilly and Ingraham allude in the first clip.
In CNS News, Father Marcel Guarnizo has published his own rebuttal of O'Reilly. He focuses not so much on the "Bible-thump" quip as much as he dwells on more fundamental issues. Father examines what seems to be libertarian underpinnings of O'Reilly's erroneous attitudes towards "gay marriage" and the inevitable harm that will be wrecked on all concerned: including gay people themselves. It will not be a "quick read" but one well worth your time.
While I'm sure this hasn't occurred to Father, he makes a cogent (if unconscious) argument why the libertarian philosophy cannot be considered true conservatism. It cannot even be considered moral.

Pro-Abortion And Pro-Gay Criminals
Yesterday, Scott Swirling of Gaithersburg MD pleaded guilty of soliciting sex with a 12-year old. Earlier this year he went into DC for what he thought was a romp but it was a sting conducted by an undercover DC police officer. By the way - Swirling was at one time the executive director of National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association.
Today it was reported that Charlie Rogers, a lesbian from Nebraska, was found guilty of faking a "hate crime" upon her person. Why she is only serving one week in jail is beyond me. Had some poor schlub been framed for the fake crime, he/she most certainly would have served a much longer sentence.
And of course there's Kermit Gosnell - no, I will NOT call him "doctor"! The trial goes on, with one worker testifying that she saw as many as 14 babies born alive.
Such is the (lack of) virtue of those who shill for the culture of death. May God have mercy on us all.

Waaah! Waaah!
Oh drat those Republican meanies in the Senate! They didn't let Obama have his way with the gun control votes yesterday. Oh wait! My bad! The Senate is controlled by the Dems! Ooops! They let down their Dear Leader! Aw, shucky-darn!
Go to CNSNews to see more details - and the video of the Messiah Most Miserable's temper tantrum. It's a pity he can't trouble himself half as much about the Boston situation or the hundreds of babies butchered by Kermit Gosnell.
Pardon my cynicism, but could his angst be because he wanted these bills to fail in the House, so that he could blame the GOP "gun-and-religion clingers" for the 2014 elections? Curses! Foiled again!

The Tyranny Of Sentimentality Leads To Sacrilege
I speak of the spiritual poison that seems to be intoxicating Christians and even Catholics in the wake of the Boston bomb explosions. On Facebook Monday night, on the wall of an otherwise common-sense person, appeared this evidence of muddied thought:
"Tonight, we as a nation begin the healing process. Tonight, we remember the one thing that brings us all together. Tonight, we are not Democrats or Republicans. We are not liberals or conservatives. We are not pro-choicers or pro-lifers. We are not for or against anything. Tonight, we are Americans." (italics mine)
I left this comment as a reply:

What The Maryland Catholic Conference Calls "Success"
Today I received a cheery little email from the Maryland Catholic Conference celebrating the end of the "successful" (???) 2013 General Assembly. They reproduced it on their web page and I now link to it for your reading (dis)pleasure.
So what does the MCC consider to be hallmarks of "success"? Here's the list:

- Death penalty repeal - for hardened criminals, that is. Innocent babies are still fair game.
- Textbook funding - the "thirty pieces of silver" for which they literally sell their souls
- Drivers' licenses for immigrants - undocumented immigrants, that is. In other words, criminals
- Gun violence - in other words, they lent their voices so they could shill for Obama's gun grab
Some of you might recall the post I produced a few days ago illustrating why I believe "gun control" actually runs counter to Magisterial teaching. I believe the push for death penalty repeal also constitutes departure from Church teaching. I will have a post on that shortly.
But the MCC acknowledges that not all was peaches and cream during this session.
- Abortion statistics keeping and ban after 20 weeks - failed
- A bill to require information on adoption for expectant mothers failed.
These last two items aren't minor disappointments, in my opinion. The lack of action on these (plus what the MCC calls "successes") rendered this Annapolis session to be an abominable failure. Unless there are changes of faces in 2014, we can expect more legislative slop. Will we also have to expect that the MCC will drool enthusiastically over that?
Media Bias Motivates Lack Of Gosnell Coverage
Most of my readers are aware that Kermit Gosnell (I refuse to call him "doctor") has been on trial in Philadelphia for multiple murder charges. Hitherto most of the lame-brain media have been silent on the matter. Many pro-lifers engaged in a "tweet" campaign which seems to have embarrassed some of the media into admitting their own bias.
Jill Stanek points out that CNN's Anderson Cooper did a segment (embedded below) on the Gosnell situation and apparent cover-ups of not only the media but the state of Pennsylvania. As you watch the video, please notice at the 5:50 mark a passing reference to a woman being referred to Gosnell's place by a Maryland abortuary. I wonder how much these referrals dried up after Leroy Carhart opened up his own hell hole in Germantown. Stanek links to the grand jury report, which I also do. I also suggest that you save this pdf to your own computers.

Cardinal Wuerl Defends Father Shaffer
Dawn Eden gave a first-hand account of a homily delivered by Cardinal Wuerl yesterday during Mass at St Stephen Martyr Church in Washington DC. That church is the parent parish of the GW chaplaincy. Father Shaffer and two former GW chaplains were concelebrating the Mass. I won't go into all the details; I'll leave it to you to read Dawn's account.
I am encouraged to learn of this. Father Shaffer is a fine priest and it's good to see his brother priests - and his bishop - rallying to his aid.
UPDATE: The Cardinal has posted his homily on his blog. Thanks to my anonymous commenter from 7:50pm for alerting. My link is "clickable".

O'Malley Energy And Environment Policies Comprised Of Chicken Shit
That is not a metaphor! I mean that literally! And no, this is not a joke! Really! Can any sane person make up this crap? But the State House is not inhabited by sane people (hasn't been for some time now).
Governor O'Malley has embarked on a project to fuel some State of Maryland facilities, including the Department of Corrections. The plan is to buy chicken manure (and other animal waste products) and burn them for conversion to electricity. You can read the official blog for more details on that.
Many environmental groups look askance upon this hare-brained scheme, and rightly so. They are concerned that O'Malley, in seeking to correct a run-off problem, may well be creating an even larger air pollution problem.
But enough with the poo-poo. O'Malley's schemes for combatting "run-off" pollution feature a (wait for it!)
"What is that??" you ask with bated breath? Why, it's a tax that we property owners will have to pay for the rain that falls on our properties. You see, certain areas of our properties will be impervious to rain - such as pavement, roofs (we hope they're impervious to rain), etc and cause that nasty run-off into the bay so they must be taxed. The Maryland Catholic Conference has asked Catholics to oppose this tax, but only because it impacts churches and other non-profits - never mind the detriment that we property owners will suffer. My colleague at A Washington DC Catholic has an excellent write-up to which I now link for your benefit. Just as the HHS mandate came back to bite the church bureaucracy after they foolishly shilled for nationalized health care, so has this "rain tax" come back to, well, rain on their parade. We'll oppose it, but for everyone and not just for the church progressives. In my younger years I would hope this would teach them a lesson, but now I believe they're just too obtuse to learn anything.

Some Background On The Gay Infestation Occurring Today
ChurchMilitant.TV has produced another documentary, this time giving an overview of how sexual perversions insinuated themselves into mainstream culture today. It's over an hour, but I think well worth the time to watch. Please spread the word.

Gun Control Is Dissent From Church Teaching
In the March/April 2013 issue of the Defend Life newsletter an article of mine appears on page 17 (note: below the jump break I'll reproduce the unedited article for therein are some links to referential material.) The main thrust of the article is to outline why I strongly believe that the underlying philosophy behind the current push for "gun control" is actually anti-life. Despite what the "seamless-garment" groupies incessantly chant, the movement to restrict access to the tools of self defense constitutes significant dissent from Catholic Church teaching.
I won't rehash my article; you can read it for yourselves. I'll also put below the jump break a montage of clips where progressive (aka Democratic) politicians make no bones about their ambitions to make a mockery of our Second Amendment rights.

Johns Hopkins U Sees The Error Of Its Way
Voice for Life, a student pro-life group on the campus of Johns Hopkins U in Baltimore, had been an officially-recognized student organization for fifteen years. When it applied for re-recognition, the Student Government Association denied their application. The basis for denial was strictly on account of VFL's pro-life advocacy. The SGA overstepped their bounds, no doubt due to their own pro-abortion proclivities. One SGA member went so far as to equate VFL with a "white supremist group".
The Thomas More Law Center intervened on behalf of VFL. Today it was announced that the Student Government Association Judiciary Committee reversed the SGA ruling of March 24 and now Voice for Life enjoys the rights that all other JHU student groups enjoy.
HT to Jill Stanek's blog for the story; please follow that link for further details. Ladies and gentlemen of good will, this is no time to be passive and demure. We must stand up for our rights and not be afraid to get a little dirt under our fingernails. Congratulations to these students.

Things From The Uterus Belong To The State
MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry, in a so-called "public service announcement", engaged in a moment of inadvertent candor when she opined that "children belong to whole communities" as opposed to being the responsibility of their parents. This is presumably after the "things in the uterus turn into humans", to quote her previous statement. She is clearly an apt spokesperson for public education - and I am not being facetious, but I do digress.
Getting back to her Freudian slip about children belonging to "the collective", many of my colleagues are shocked at this revelation; I am not. This has been the game plan all along of the denizens of public education. I minored in secondary education at the University of Maryland so my knowledge of the matter is not trivial. We were taught in no uncertain terms that John Dewey was the "father of modern education". Arguably he was, as he left his humanistic paw prints all over the place. And yes, he was a signer of the Humanist Manifesto.
Paula Bolyard of PJMedia asks the question (a very good question) "Has a century of progressive education turned us into obedient sheep?" I'd suggest that all read it. The obvious answer to her question is a resounding "yes". And that is by intent!
Read closely the Humanist Manifesto - and then read of the various "efforts" of the National Education Association. The production of passive "sheeple" following the dictates of oligarchies such as the one fronted by the Messiah Most Miserable has been its thinly-disguised goal. In other words, the public education system is following the playbook written long ago by John Dewey.
Here's the MSNBC video below.

Prolonged Detention, Anyone???
I have to give credit where credit is due. Rachel Maddow certainly defied the rest of the progressive lemming-pack of mainstream media to report on the FEMA camps. By the way - as you watch this, recall the previous post - particularly that last bullet point detailing how some in the military see those of us who hold to God and His values.
Who Doubts That We Are Being Treated As "Niggers Of The New Age"?
This is not the first time I've used this phrase (although I originally coined it). The last time I used this was a little more than a year ago. It caused a fair amount of consternation. Some of that registered from the "golly-gee-we-mustn't-make-people-upset" crowd and some of it registered from those who indeed want to marginalize those of us who hold to Christian moral standards.
Well, a year has come and gone and the incidents continue to accumulate.
Well, a year has come and gone and the incidents continue to accumulate.
- A gay-rights group calling themselves "Angry Queers" (to their credit, they accurately named themselves) vandalized a Portland Oregon church claiming that Christians are "scum" who "deserve hammers through their windows". Krystalnacht, anyone?
- A LGTB activist named Scott Rose suggested the death penalty for Christians who oppose the "gay marriage" debacle, stating that "those Christofascists deserve to be nailed up on crosses and left to bleed to death". And this they call "tolerance"??
- It's not only the gay-rights bunch. Now the U.S. Army is labeling Catholics and Evangelicals as examples of "religious extremism" - right up there with Al Quaeda and Hamas! Did we mention that this is "your tax dollars at work"?
Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to stop the denial. Let's stop playing "the three monkeys" before it's too late to stop this juggernaut.

Sentimental Journey To Hell
This Vortex echoes a lot of what I've been thinking as I look at many in the Church myself. I suspect one reason why Father Guarnizo was tossed under the bus last year was that he refused to pander to sentimental considerations disguised as "pastoral considerations". Now Father Shaffer is staving off the same "sentimental" monsters although the archdiocese is standing with him.
A Softer Tone?
Some gay activists are "excited" about what they perceive as a "softer tone" in the Church when it comes to gay lifestyles. To be certain, Cardinals Dolan and Wuerl seem to be falling all over themselves, almost apologizing for the need to exercise the First Spiritual Work of Mercy, that is, "Rebuke the sinner".
Cardinal Dolan opined "we gotta do better to see that our defense is not reduced to an attack on gay people. And I admit we haven't been too good at that. We try our darndest to make sure we're not an anti-anybody". Dolan confuses perception with reality. In this case, the "perception" is deliberately feigned, with the most recent example being that of the witch-hunt being conducted against Father Greg Shaffer at GW. Would any sane person say that the Church is "anti-alcoholic" when its priests preach of the evil of drunkedness? It is precisely because the Church loves the sinner that she speaks so vehemently against the sin that threatens to cast that sinner into hell for all eternity (and there is "softer tone" in hell!). The Church wants to bring that person to repentance, conversion and everlasting life.
Now on the surface it appears that Cardinal Wuerl may have had an epiphany. He stated in a recent Fox interview (starting at 8:00) that gays fall into the same category as those who have divorced and remarried, a situation that normally precludes them from receiving Holy Communion. On the surface, that appears to be a stark improvement from the chancery's attitude towards Father Marcel Guarnizo last year. But wait! Where does this "normally" come from? If any Catholic in those situations receives Holy Communion, they commit a mortal sin of sacrilege. And there is no "participation in the life of the Church" unless they leave behind that sinful lifestyle, for that sin will preclude the presence of sanctifying grace, the basis for "life of the Church".

GWU Gays Launch Persecution Campaign Against Catholic Chaplain
Two gay students at George Washington University are shocked (just shocked, I tell you!) that the Catholic chaplain on campus is acting like (gasp!) a Catholic chaplain!! Oh, the horror of it all! They claim that Father Greg Shaffer's proclamation of Catholic truth causes them to (wait for it!) feel alienated. One is left wondering from what they feel alienated.
In all seriousness, it is true that Damian Legacy's and Blake Bergen's gay lifestyle have indeed alienated themselves from God's love and (while they persist in mortal sin) eternal salvation. One might hope that such feelings of alienation would cause them to take serious stock of their sinful lives, leave the practice of homosexuality and go to confession before they really find themselves alienated for all eternity. We will pray for their repentance - and the repentance of those other twelve individuals.
Legacy and Bergen claim to "be upset about the counseling" that Father offers to homosexuals: to live chaste lives. Again, when one goes to a Catholic priest for counseling, should they really be surprised that he is going to counsel them in the way he knows to be the truth? If they just don't like what Father is saying, they can always go elsewhere, can they not? And were they compelled under duress to seek Father out in the first place? No, they heard Father alright, and their consciences are smarting. Their behavior is reminiscent of the pharisees who held their hands over their ears as they rushed to stone Stephen the first martyr as the latter rebuked their sinfulness. They hate the truth for it exposes the stench of their own conduct so they proceed on a mad rush to quash it.
The article goes on to say that Legacy was considering the priesthood before Father Shaffer arrived on campus. Perhaps Legacy didn't like seeing how a real priest lives and carries on his ministry. Legacy abandoned his own "priesthood" pipe-dream for which I cry "Deo Gratias!"
Pray for Father Shaffer and all priests. Pray that they might proclaim God's truth unabashedly.

Curbing Violence - It's The Morality, Stupid USCCB!
Sister Mary Ann Walsh, Media Relations Director for the USCCB, has an opinion piece that has been published by today's Washington Post. Right there you can guess that Sister spouts left-wing talking points that have been given to her for that is the only way her byline would appear in the Washington Post. Were she speaking of actual Church teaching the Post would never publish that piece. So what is the topic of the USCCB bloviation of the day? If you read my post about Cardinal McCarrick's latest cause-celebre, you know what it is - "gun control", that is, the confiscation of self-defense tools from decent people.
A careful read of the first paragraph illustrates the smoke and mirrors with which the progressives endeavor to blind and confuse us. They want to instill in our minds that inanimate objects are the cause of so much violence and misery in society. She uses forceps, needles and guns in her flawed analogy. Of course they can be used for great evil. They can also be used for great good. It all depends on the individual doing the "using". Isn't that the same for any tool? She (and all progressives) attempt to relieve criminals of any responsibility for their actions.
Further down in the article she writes, "it is clear that assault weapons stand out dramatically as a threat to innocent life". What is clear is that Sister is simply following the progressive script that I suspect has been given to her by her USCCB handlers, for that statement is sheer, utter nonsense. Weapons, being inanimate objects, pose a threat to nobody. They can be used by criminal elements or by those who defend themselves and others against those same aggressors.
If the USCCB is truly serious about ending violence, they'll do well to examine how our culture came to be so violent. Fifty years ago, such wasn't the case - and at that time there was not nearly the plethora of "gun-control" laws on the books as there is today. So what's the cause? Well, to borrow a phrase from Bill Clinton's first presidential campaign, "it's the morality, stupid"! And before all the little scolds and nay-sayers harp on my use of the word "stupid", I'll make plain that I value accuracy over diplomacy. Indeed, the stupidity is deliberate and I can even say that there are more accurate terms and "stupid" may be the more "diplomatic".
Again, if the USCCB wants to end violence, they'll address the root causes of disobedience to God's laws with regard to sexual morality and family life. They will insist that the clergy preach on the evils of contraception, abortion, euthanasia and the gay lifestyle forcefully and often. They will direct the clergy to implement Canon 915 with regards to flagrant pro-abortion Catholics who dare to profane the Body and Blood of Christ - meaning that Cardinals Dolan and Wuerl need to clean up their acts. Cardinal Dolan's Palm Sunday actions were an unmitigated disastrous scandal, serving only to embolden those who foment the evils that directly contribute to societal violence. And of course the USCCB must give both the CCHD and CRS an immediate and unceremonious heave-ho and stop diverting Catholic dollars to anti-life and anti-God organizations.
Barring miracles, does anyone think any of what I just said will happen? Neither do I. The USCCB, with this Post article, has once again demonstrated why it cannot be taken seriously and why it really should be abolished in its entirety.

From The "Well Whadya Know?" Department
If I were into all that "new-agey" stuff, I might have to suspect that I'm clairvoyant! Why? Well, remember the previous post, where I voiced my mystical premonition that Father Santamauro's Facebook page might be "changed"? BEHOLD!!
A commenter in the previous post noticed that, too. He/she ascribes too many miraculous attributes to Yours Truly, I confess! The fact is that light causes the cockroaches to flee. Unfortunately it can merely induce them to be more furtive as they continue to work their mischief. While Father Santamauro may have taken down the offending facebook page (and who knows how willingly?), he still remains on the Campus Ministry staff. It is reasonable to presume that he remains sympathetic to the HRC's goals to distort family and moral teachings.
Those of my readers who are officially affiliated with Catholic University (students, staff or faculty), please be alert to the situation there. Please advise via comments of any further developments. Thanks.

Gay Mafia Infesting Catholic University Of America?
There are signs of that, unfortunately. Here is the directory of their Campus Ministry staff. Of note is the Associate Chaplain for Graduate and Law Students, Rev Andrew Santamauro, OFM. Father Santamauro has a Facebook page, which I'll copy below in case it is, uh, "changed" within hours of this blog posting.
Notice that red box with the two horizontal lines. Ladies and gentlemen, that is the logo of the Human Rights Campaign, an organization dedicated to the fomenting of perversion and the destruction of marriage and authentic family life. The placement of that on Father's page is not an accident. I'd be delighted to learn that Father was not responsible for its placement and that someone else put it there unbeknownst to him. Barring that, I'd have to say that the Campus Ministry Office at CUA is severely compromised.
