Oh drat those Republican meanies in the Senate! They didn't let Obama have his way with the gun control votes yesterday. Oh wait! My bad! The Senate is controlled by the Dems! Ooops! They let down their Dear Leader! Aw, shucky-darn!
Go to CNSNews to see more details - and the video of the Messiah Most Miserable's temper tantrum. It's a pity he can't trouble himself half as much about the Boston situation or the hundreds of babies butchered by Kermit Gosnell.
Pardon my cynicism, but could his angst be because he wanted these bills to fail in the House, so that he could blame the GOP "gun-and-religion clingers" for the 2014 elections? Curses! Foiled again!
Well I have a temper tantrum too--and I am a daily communicant in my parish--that our Republican senators care so little for human life that they are setting us up for more Newtowns. I haven't voted Democrat in years over the abortion thing, but the Republicans no longer have my vote, you can be sure
ReplyDeleteYou miss the boat, my friend. Perhaps it's because those senators do care for people that they wish to leave intact their ability to defend themselves adequately - be the threat from insane criminals or a government gone rogue. I don't know if you've noticed, but criminals have a habit of breaking laws so these stupid measures won't deter them in the least - liberal pipe dreams to the contrary.
DeleteI don't know how old you are, but I remember a time when Newtowns etc were unheard of. And this was a time when there weren't nearly the plethora of gun laws on the books as there are today. But also unthinkable at that time was the legalized murder of innocent children in their mothers' wombs. Now human life is held cheap by hardened criminals. What is needed is 1) respect for innocent people which is sorely lacking more in the Democrat party than the GOP (at least officially) and 2) more criminal control.
To the last point, perhaps you've noticed that in Boston last week, not one gun was used to wreck all that havoc? So do we start some serious "criminal control" or must we all register our pressure cookers now?
