Today, at Mass in a local parish, I discovered that the DC Catholic Charities is having its annual fundraising gala this evening. Maybe I missed it but I recall no mention of it in the Catholic Standard. It is here on their website, but immediately I noticed something very odd about it. Nowhere do I see mention of a keynote speaker. In the past, they have had some extremely questionable honorees. In 2002, for instance, they honored John Sweeney, then president of the pro-abortion AFL-CIO. He had been president for several years and still the AFL-CIO site directly linked to NOW's site. So given their propensity to rub elbows with all sorts of seedy characters AND their rather coy silence regarding tonight's program, we will not be surprised if DC Catholic Charities indeed grovels at the feet of some pro-abort and/or dissident celebrity.
By the way, I went to their facebook page to see if there were additional details about this evening's shin-dig. I didn't see any, but I saw where they promoted the Soros-funded "March for Our Lives". However, I don't see one peep regarding the Sex-Ed-Sit-Out that is scheduled for April 23rd. If parents are going to let their kids out of school, the reason might as well be to prevent progressive poison from polluting their brains and corrupting their morals. In fact, I don't see mention of it on the USCCB site or any diocesan websites; if I've overlooked one, please advise.
If anyone has any info on this evening's event, please advise via the comments section. In the meantime, please boycott the in-pew collections of all these so-called "Catholic charitable outreaches".
Catholic Charities in the Archdiocese of Chicago is one of the faith-based organizations now certified as a community-based organization according to Obamacare. As such, Catholic Charities in that part of the US has become involved in spreading the Third Path Movement or the subtle wing of the euthanasia movement (as opposed to the radical wing that wants to legalize physician assisted suicide). (See lifetree.org) Palliative medicine is a new sub-specialty of medicine of the death controllers, thanks to a $45 million grant over 9 years by George Soros called his Project on Death in America. Palliative care is their vehicle to legalize the hastening of death. Think "slow medicine." In particular, Catholic Charities in the Archdiocese of Chicago received an Obamacare grant called Community-Based Care Transitions Program (CCTP) grant to help prevent the sick and elderly from bouncing back to the hospital. Here is a notice of the CCTP grants: https://www.google.com/search?q=Community-based+Care+Transitions+program+%22archdiocese+of+Chicago%22&oq=Community-based+Care+Transitions+program+++%22archdiocese+of+Chicago%22&aqs=chrome..69i57.23023j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
ReplyDeleteBut it gets worse. In other dioceses Catholic Charities is getting involved in healthcare in ways we have never known. For example I know of a physician practice that is now located on the property of a parish, a practice trained in the palliative philosophy of medicine rather than traditional medicine, e.g. fewer referrals to specialists, etc. Finally, it gets much, much worse! The newly constituted Pontifical Academy for Life just sponsored a workshop (Feb 28/Mar 1) titled "Palliative Care: Everywhere and by Everyone." The entire two days were spent promoting palliative medicine as the official standard of EOL care for every country and by every provider. Can you imagine! Will providers be allowed to follow their consciences or not! They want opiods to be more available. They want more certified chaplains in palliative care and trained to encourage "letting go." Please search the internet for some of the presentations. They were recorded live on YouTube. Listen to Christina Puchalski on palliative spirituality and ask yourself if this is what the Catholic Church wants for her faithful souls. Palliative spirituality is not Catholic! The truth of the matter is that the Church has become a promoter of the moderate wing of the euthanasia movement. We at LifeTree have been researching the Third Path Movement for over fifteen years and knew that back in 1994 Soros gave a Catholic healthcare group seed money. But this workshop is just unbelievable. I recommend you visit our website lifetree.org. Glance at the timeline (short and long version). Learn about its tools, its strategies, its funders, its leaders, its organizations and coalitions of organizations. Then marvel at how much they have accomplished from the beginning when the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation funded the SUPPORT study in the late 80s and early 90s after which George Soros jumped in with his millions.
Instead of telling people to search, please provide links! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWith all due respect, it seems that Dr. Wickham has provided quite a few links. Perhaps a visit to the LifeTree site would also be in order.
