Quran - Blessed In A Catholic Cathedral????

First, I thank my colleague at Orate Fratres for alerting us to this.

I suppose the pastor and parishioners of this Catholic church feel they must do obeisance to the Muslims to atone for some people burning the Quran.  While Pastor Jones canceled his plans, some pastors in Tennessee burned a Quran.  The Sacramento Bee reports that yesterday, the ninth anniversary of the destruction of the Twin Towers, the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament hosted a ceremony during which representatives from various "faiths" (some of them pagan).  While passages were read from most (if not all) their sacred writings, only the Quran was blessed with (WAIT FOR THIS)...

"ROSES OF LOVE"!

(You may now pause to pull out your "Hair" vinyls and play "The Age of Aquarius")  Ain't that just groovy, man?  Kinda takes you back to the 1960s "summer of love" now, doesn't it?

What an insult to the famillies of those who were massacred on September 11th by Muslim terrorists!  Like it or not, those terrorists were inspired by that religion of non-peace and the writings in the Quran.  That book, with its murderous ideas that led to the travesty of nine years ago, was blessed?  Make no mistake - I never condoned the plans to burn it, but this "blessing" was just as insulting, if not worse.  By the way - did anyone notice that while the Quran was blessed, none of the books of the other faiths represented was so honored?  Come to think of it, I don't recall any imams offering to bless Bibles after scores of them were torched in Afghanistan last year.

To voice your concerns, please contact the cathedral or the Diocese of Sacramento.
