Friends Don't Let Friends Give To CCHD! Now What?

It has been amply demonstrated on this blog and the blogs and websites of other faithful Catholics that the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, despite protestations of "reform and review and renewal and whatever", still remains the proverbial snake in the grass.  If you donate to ostensibly "help the poor", you'll wind up harming those people in the long run.

If you happily refrained from the CCHD collection, what's to do with your donation dollars?  We are still bound to look after the poor - truly look after the poor.  Well, for those in the area of the Archdiocese of Washington, there are some practical suggestions.  By the way - all donations are tax-deductible.

Of course this list is by no means exhaustive.  There are many, many truly worthy charities out there.

A word to the progressive trolls reading this.  I have made these recommendations without consultation to the afore-mentioned organizations.  My recommendation of these organizations in no way implies that they agree with my stated positions on the CCHD and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.  Perhaps they agree, perhaps they don't, perhaps they're indifferent - I don't know and I think that irrelevant to the fact that they do perform the Works of Mercy.  Any resentment or grudge directed towards them will be regarded as an act of supreme cowardice, spite and pettiness.  Any problems, send them here.
