Yesterday Georgetown President Fr John DeGioia defended the decision to have HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius deliver one of the commencement addresses. He said "the secretary's presence on our campus should not be viewed as an endorsement of her views." Oh, really? Would he be so glib if the speaker were affiliated with, say, a white supremist group?
By the way - the Washington Post published the text of her address; read it. Clearly she tooted her own horn - policies, views and all. What else did they really expect? Nothing, really. Father DeGioia's nose might have grown just a tad.
I couldn't help but notice that Georgetown's name is missing from the list of Catholic plaintiffs in the twelve lawsuits filed earlier this week. That's no surprise.
