Elrich's Snitch-Ambassadors Vindictive Wrath Against Businesses

A few days ago, the Grille at Flower Hill (in Gaithersburg) announced on its facebook page that they would not adhere to the draconian mask regulations.  Predictably, that aroused the ire of the Democrat demagogues that run Montgomery County MD and County Executive Marc Elrich put out this spiel.  It would have done Hitler and Stalin proud.  As I listened, I could almost hear nazi-esque goose step marching with military drums in the background.

At the 1:05 mark, did you catch the part about "business ambassadors"?  Why should I believe these goons are any different than the dictators' minions who would routinely barge into a home or shop, demanding papers and looking for any deviations from the dictates of the overlord in charge?  Elrich states that the "goal" of the "ambassadors" is to "help" businesses comply - and heaven help them if they don't.  Then the tyranical hammer of tyranny will come down heavy and often.  At 1:40 he says "most businesses have chosen to be appreciative".  That's rather telling language, isn't it?  They either appreciate assistance or they don't.  Elrich seems to be inadvertently admitting that most businesses are indeed chafing under his so-called "ambassadors".  But for those who still imagine that they live in a free country, he has this to say.  "Since they would not accept the help of the ambassadors and would not comply with the guidelines, we closed those businesses down."  And a hearty "seig heil!" to you, Mr County Executive!   The Grille was one of the businesses that felt the iron fist of the tyrants.

He then segues into some $14M of public assistance for businesses impacted by Covid.  Just where does he think that money will come from?  Hint!  If you live in Montgomery County, look in the mirror!  Don't have a job?  You'll be taxed anyway!

Hey, Marc!  I've got a better idea!  Let the businesses open up, with no governmental fetters!  Then they won't need your assistance!  Or do you want them dependent on government?  You progressives are becoming more and more transparent about your goals and mindsets.

  1. Most people would agree that this issue is new and continuously evolving. The CDC, MDH, ASHRAE etc. are constantly scrambling, modifying, and updating, often daily. What was the best information yesterday is outdated, proven wrong or updated today.

Many of the executive orders required people wear a “mask” in public, but it is patently obvious that a simple cloth (tee shirt) mask does not stop a virus sized particle. This will be effective against a “projectile sneeze” which the CFD model in the NJM offered can send nuclei 26 feet… Even Fauci indicated this is a stretch…but the media and ill-informed politicians take this as a mandate to required people to wear masks. This mandate, based on misinterpretation, gives people a false sense of security and protection. If you want to truly address the issue there should be wide application of science / technology to install HEPA filters, electrostatic precipitators, bipolar ionization, etc.

Please note that to capture virus sized particles (i.e. 100 nm) you need something better than a n95 mask, you need a HEPA filter with a rating better than MERV 16, without particle agglomeration. That is the science. Please see the comparison of particle size and the following filtration ratings that show a HEPA filter is required to capture virus sized particles.

    1. Thanks for the info, but the technical merits of each kind of mask is not the issue. You did illustrate, however, why this unconstitutional mask mandate is not about health at all, but about getting the citizens used to the idea of accepting ever-increasing governmental encroachment into their lives.

  2. A mask mandate is not unconstitutional. You've heard "no shoes, no shirt, no service"? Add masks on to that.
As for masks offering protection, perhaps you would like your surgeon and scrub nurse to go without a mask when you have surgery? Refusing to wear a mask is selfish. It doesn't hurt you in the least, unless you can't stand the smell of your own breath. Stop reflexively hating anything that MIGHT be an affront to you. 130,000+ people have died in our country from this. Grow up and have some responsibility for your fellow humans on this earth.

    1. No one questions the right of proprietors to establish their own dress codes, nor those of professional associations to determine codes of conduct for their members. What is the question here is governmental coercion.
As far as your own airs of moral superiority evinced in your last few sentences, you are playing the quintessential hypocrite. You maintain a blog entitled "Confessions of a Gay Catholic". If indeed you are engagingg in homosexual acts, you are committing objectively mortal sins. You are in no position to moralize at anyone. I'd suggest you pay heed to that "confession" part and repent of those sins.

    3. My apologies - I have not updated that in years, and it appears someone else has taken over the URL. I’m tech savvy enough to turn on my computer. My sincere apologies too anyone who sees that.

  3. Dear lady, please don’t change the subject. You have claimed that mask requirements are unconstitutional. They are not. “No shoes, no shirt” is not store policy. It is health code, government mandate. As such, adding a mask requirement is simply the government exercising its duty to ensure the well-being of its residents.
You have no idea whether I am sexually active or not. Stop assuming what you do not know.

    1. Your blog posts make plain your sympathies. Therefore, any moralizing on your part is rendered worthless. The mask requirement extends not only to stores, but to houses of worship. And it's not only masks. In some states, the governmental tyrants had the chutzpah to tell churches not to distribute Holy Communion, claiming it's not essential worship. Since when does government have any authority to dictate what is "essential to worship"? They don't
