Desiderio Desideravi - Another Liturgical Stink Bomb

It was just released today, the Feast Day of Sts Peter and Paul.  Courtesy of Rorate Caeli, I can link to the English text as it appears on the Vatican site.  The first 30 sections are basically fluff, but then the real poison becomes apparent in Section 31.  He said, "I do not see how it is possible to say that one recognizes the validity of the Council — though it amazes me that a Catholic might presume not to do so — and at the same time not accept the liturgical reform born out of Sacrosanctum Concilium"

Perhaps he needs to be reminded that Vatican II, for all of its faults, never mandated:

  • The priest facing the congregation
  • The abandonment of Latin as the main liturgical language
  • The abandonment of Gregorian chant and polyphony
  • Tabernacles moved away from the altar
  • Communion in the hand
  • The removal of the communion rails and subsequent standing for Holy Communion
  • Female altar servers
If anyone isn't accepting what Vatican II said, it's those progressive wreckovators who inflicted all the above-cited trash on the Church in a bone-headed attempt to make us look like we're protestants.

Section 37 starts with "Also the plan of studies for the Liturgy in seminaries must take account of the extraordinary capacity that the actual celebration has in itself to offer an organic and unified vision of all theological knowledge  "  That's exactly what the Traditional Latin Mass offers.  Refer to the diagram at the right.  The prayers at the foot of the altar call to mind our sinfulness and both our unworthiness and need for the Mass.  The preface, each and every Sunday, gives a synopsis of the Mystery of the Holy Trinity.  We unite ourselves with the priest as he offers the Unbloody Sacrifice of the Mass.  There is so much more - so much that the current Novus Ordo has stripped away.

Section 39 is truly a head-scratcher. "One final observation about seminaries: in addition to a program of studies, they must also offer the possibility of experiencing a celebration that is not only exemplary from a ritual point of view, but also authentic and alive, which allows the living out of a true communion with God, "  News flash!  All Masses are equally efficacious and salutatory.  But I see that word - experience!  Here we have an unabashed admission that subjective warm-fuzzy experiences trump the objective reality that is embodied in each and every Mass.  Hence experience is made into a de facto idol.

I'm only halfway through this thing and I am sure there are more sly little poison pills interspersed throughout this tome.  I will delve into the rest of it later.  For now, I suggest that you all read it closely, for there will be some erroneous and disingenuous references to it from pulpits all over the world.

  1. Pope Francis and Pope Benedict mean Vatican Council II interpreted with a Rational Premise presents objective exceptions for the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus. The Athanasius Creed is also rejected and the Syllabus of Errors is made obsolete. So there is a new ecclesiology in the Church, with a New Ecumenism and New Theology. This is expressed in the new Vatican Council II ( irrational) Mass.
So when the conservatives say they accept Vatican Council II why do they reject the new ecclesiology of the New Mass ?- the two popes could ask.
Pope Francis like the traditionalists, interprets Vatican Council II with the False Premise and this is the official interpretation of Traditionis Custode - and now Desiderio Desideravi.
On the other hand Brother Andre Marie MICM, the Prior at the St. Benedict Center, New Hampshire, and also a traditionalist, interprets Vatican Council II with the Rational Premise. So now there are two interpretations of also Desiderio Desideravi.

  2. Why does anyone pay attention to what this morbidly obese colon compromised Argentine says? I certainly don't. Jorge Bergoglio is a heretic.

    1. Because we must be aware of things that might endanger the faith and salvation of others. Willful ignorance is not a morally permissible course of action.
