My friend Stephanie Block was in Virginia last week to give some background on Alinskyian organizing, particularly as it is rearing its head in northern Virginia through VOICE and other tentacles. Please listen and spread this abroad. We must educate ourselves and each other.

Some Not-So-Surprising Factors That Occasioned Baltimore Riots
There's lots and lots of speculation regarding the underlying causes of the riots in Baltimore during this past week. Ultimately the moral responsibility lies with those who perpetrated and engaged in the looting and destruction. No one forced the thugs to loot stores, burn cars and heave rocks at police. However there are other factors that contributed to the calamity in Baltimore. And yes, there are those whose sick aims were furthered by the violence.
So what are some of these factors? We have some really far-fetched crack-pot theories. One CNN newsperson claimed that returning veterans are to blame (she was since forced to recant). We have the Messiah Most Miserable himself trying to blame police in Fergusen race-baiting style. He also tried to blame the GOP-Controlled Congress for not throwing what he considers adequate funding towards urban communities. He was more or less echoed by Steny Hoyer, Minority Whip for Congress - and a Maryland Democrat. He too clamored for more funding.
A post from the Maryland Conservative Action Network pointed out two key things regarding Baltimore. The first was a facebook post written by Michael Smigiel, a Maryland State Delegate who sat on the Judiciary Committee and got quite an inside view regarding the draconian policies of Martin O'Malley, the former MD governor who was also once mayor of Baltimore. He points out that the Baltimore Police, under then-mayor O'Malley, adopted a theory known as zero-tolerance policing, placing people under arrest for the most trivial of infractions. In other words, he began to introduce a police-state. Consider that O'Malley has his sights set on the White House; some say that Obama prefers him to Hillary Clinton. If we want a harbinger of what the country would look like under an O'Malley presidency, we need look no further than Baltimore. Sheriff David Clarke of Milwaukee, himself a Democrat, puts the blame squarely on "failed liberal policies". There is much merit to what he says, but I think the problem is more insidious than that.
Let's look at the current mayor of Baltimore, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake. She will never live down her admission that "we also gave those who wished to destroy space to do that as well". For those who find that hard to believe (especially since she's now trying to deny that statement,), I post the video. After watching, please continue past it for more commentary.
This gal is not only mayor of Baltimore, but she serves as Secretary for the Democratic National Committee. My! Such a busy woman! One might be tempted to excuse this teensy slip of the tongue, since she must be frazzled from wearing so many hats. But..it may not be just a momentary gaffe. Was it not Rahm Emanuel, aka "Deadfish Rahm-bo" now mayor of Chicago, who said "you never want a serious crisis to go to waste"? Alveda King, niece of Martin Luther King, penned an open letter to Blake urging her to resign her office. That's a lovely thought, but I don't think that will happen. I suspect she did precisely what the DNC higher-ups (and she's one of them!) wanted her to do. Reat Matthew Vadum's take on the machinations that caused Blake to order the police stand-down. They wanted the chaos, being the good little Alinksyans that they are.
One glimmering ray of hope came from all this as we all watched Toya Graham forcilbly remove her rioting son from the melee, administering motherly discipline as she did so. Notice that the Baltimore Police Commissioner lauded her actions, saying "I wish I had more parents taking charge of their kids tonight". However, that got one Washington Post writer in a hissy-snit-fit. In her op-ed piece, she decried "the mom's violence", saying she was teaching her boy not to "resist white supremacy". This lame-brain media gal is following the progressive mantra. I'll translate her screed:"How dare the family step in and take charge of their own? Don't they know that the village must raise their children? They should step aside for we are the progressives and government is god!" How's that for paraphrasing liberal gobbly-gook?

Three Offensive Paragraphs To Remain In The Final Report
In my post that showed in the wee hours of this morning, I mentioned that Rorate Caeli had reason to believe that the three paragraphs of the interim report that were voted out of the final report were still going to remain. I just learned that Edward Pentin of the National Catholic Register has reported the same thing.
Father Federico Lombardi stated (according to the Register) that the three paragraphs "are not completely rejected. They cannot be considered an expression of synodal consensus”, he said, but rather show a “work in progress” and areas that “still have a ways to go.”
"Not completely rejected"? If not, what was the purpose of the vote? Was that voting exercise just another part of the "dog and pony show" of the SinNod, so it was ok to disregard the obvious rejection of the three paragraphs?
"Work in progress" and "still have a ways to go"? What does that mean? Does it mean that the paragraphs remain so that Catholics can be deceived into thinking that settled moral doctrine is fair game for debate and attempts to change it? If not, what can be the reason for keeping the rejected paragraphs in the report?
Those three paragraphs are by no means examples of "surprises of God" but merely the machinations of those bent on the destruction of Holy Mother Church and the damnation of countless souls who will be hapless enough to be deceived by the wolves who are masquerading as shepherds.
I would recommend to you that you read this article by Sandro Magister on "The True Story Of This Synod, Directors, Performers, Assistants". You can see the machinations have been going on for some time. Both Machiavelli and Alinsky would be proud of them. They are NOT going to give up their schemes to bastardize the Teachings of Jesus Christ. Anyone who thinks this final report represents a victory for faithful Catholics really need to step out of their bubbles and take off the rose-colored glasses for we are in for a long struggle here.
In my previous post I gave a nod to Saul Alinsky, for all of this is right out of his playbook. However, this post's nod will go to Nancy Pelosi for she coined the term "we have to pass it to find out what's in it." It seems rather appropriate for the dissidents are determined to get that theological and spiritual poison into the hearts and minds of Catholics by whatever means they can, be those means ever so unethical.

Alinskyianism In DC Parishes
First let me set the stage. On June 21st, my Catholic Media Coalition colleague Stephanie Block wrote an expose on how Alinskyianism was to be introduced into the average parish. A group called "Catholic Truth in Education" published some letters decades ago regarding their own findings about a strategy orient parish offices towards "social action" and "community organizing". Apparently one of the steps to be undertaken by these "change agents" was to implement "outcome-based education" - that is, the manipulation of students' values and behaviors. The Obama administration is attempting the same exact thing through the Common Core project.
Today I attended Mass at Blessed Sacrament and picked up their bulletin from last weekend. On page 6 we see "News from the Washington Interfaith Network" - WIN for short. WIN is the local affiliate for the Industrial Areas Foundation, founded by Saul Alinsky himself (with Msgr Jack Egan being a board member). I've written much about WIN and other Alinskyian organizations that have infested ADW parishes for a while now. The Blessed Sacrament bulletin column invites the parishioners to get involved with WIN. How about getting involved with working to end abortion? Even the bishops recognize (at least on paper) that the murder of babies is the premier social concern of the day - now only if they'd walk the walk along with talking the talk.

Borrowing Some Tactics From SEIU..
In Kansas, a "community-organizing" bunch that calls itself "Sunflower Community Action" descended upon the front lawn of Kris Kobach, the Kansas Secretary of State to protest the deportation of illegal immigrants (that is, those who deliberately broke our laws). Their actions bore an uncanny resemblance to that of the SEIU and "National Political Action", who stomped all over the lawn and front porch of a Bank of America official three years ago in Montgomery County. I daresay there might have been some "consultation" going on between the two "community organizing" gangs. In fact, go to page 4 of this SCA newsletter to see how they are networking with the SEIU.
Watch the video of the mob all over Kobach's lawn. The guy with the bullhorn on the porch claims that "we're showing love" (0:14). He makes a mockery of the word "love". Whatever else marauding over someone's private property is, it is not "love". As for the depositing of shoes on the front porch, that was just silly; I imagine the shoes are in some trash can at this moment.
Dear "Sunflower", here are some good-faith suggestions. If you want to convince the "evil xenophobes" that you aren't a bunch of law-breaking, trespassing thugs, then it's very important that you do not behave like law-breaking, trespassing thugs as you did at the Kobach home. Otherwise, they (and the public at large) will correctly infer that you mean to bully and terrorize. Understand that the act of trespassing, especially en masse is by definition not "peaceful", silly pretensions to the contrary. Mr. Kobach's mention of his Second Amendment rights in this context is most appropriate. Obviously you won't appreciate it, in your delusional self-righteousness and hypocrisy, but that's not our problem
Illegal aliens are deported because they show disregard for our laws. We know they make disregard of rule of law and other peoples' rights their way of life (in true Alinskyan fashion; note the reading list of Louis Goseland, along with Alinskyan language all over the site). The "Sunflower Community Action" bunch was kind enough to provide to us this past Saturday with prima facae evidence of that deplorable trait by stampeding over Mr. Kobach's lawn.

Organizing For Action - Obama's Latest Schtick
The Messiah Most Miserable has launched yet another "community-organizing" stunt to shill for: 1) gun control, 2) immigration reform, and 3) progressive budget. And no, it is not - repeat NOT! - the USCCB being finally "unmasked"! Such a mistaken perception would be totally understandable, given that those three things are coincidentally (ahem!) favorite talking points of the USCCB.
My friend and colleague Stephanie Block exposes this in her latest article entitled "Organizing for Action: the Democratic Party's New Machine." She exposes some of the strange interconnections that these progressives have with those who dissent from the Church on key moral issues. For instance, Jim Wallis, head of Sojourners, waxes indignant at the National Rifle Association for high urban murder rates. However, he has come out in favor of the perversion of marriage and family life vis-a-vis "gay marriage", thus tearing down a bulwark of society and fomenting the conditions that induce people to behave violently. These people have absolutely no moral credibility and are to be exposed and resisted.

Change Agents - Part 3
My Catholic Media Coalition colleague Stephanie Block has just released the third installment on Alinskyian organizing efforts. This one delves into the ideology underlying Alinskyian organization, and by extension, the ideology underlying many (if not most) of the "social justice" arms proceeding from the USCCB and state Catholic conferences.
Please read it and spread word of it. It can be downloaded.

Change Agents - Part 2
About six weeks ago I linked to the first installment of a four-part series on Alinskyan organizing and how it has infiltrated the Church. It is a rather thorough work put together by my friend and Catholic Media Coalition colleague Stephanie Block. I now link to the second installment. It's a pdf that can be downloaded. Enjoy!
