Two days ago I mentioned that the Post-Synodal Exhortation on Marriage would most likely be released. That likelihood has now increased. Edward Pentin has published an announcement by Cardinal Walter Kasper that the thing could indeed be released on Saturday March 19. Kasper said that this document will be a "first step in a reform..after 1700 years", and that "we must not repeat past formulas and barricade ourselves behind the wall of exclusivism and clericalism".
My! How the Church must have wallowed in despair and darkness, lo these past 1700 years, just pining for the "god of surprises"!
Kasper did get specific about allowing civilly remarried divorced Catholics - in other words, those living in adultery - to receive Holy Communion. He gave lip-service to the "penitential period" crock, conveniently overlooking the critical detail that authentic penitence necessitates the cessation of sin and the occasions of such sin. I've written quite a bit about Kasper in the past: enough to say that this announcement of his is quite typical for him.
Voice of the Family has put together quite a thorough analysis of this exhortation. They warn of many dangers embedded in this exhortation. In addition to adulterers being allowed to receive Holy Communion sacrilegiously, the Church's teachings on contraception are undermined, parental rights are undermined, etc. I suggest that all read it and beware of what will soon be unleashed upon the Catholics in the pew. Be prepared to shield yourselves from temptation and to assist your fellow Catholics through the confusion that this exhortation will foist on them.

Smoke And Wolves Inside The Church
In a post of mine three weeks ago, I touched upon several avenues by which the smoke of Satan is entering into the Catholic Church. In this post, I'll deal with several of these avenues. First we look at the various partnerships that the Vatican has struck with those opposed to the teachings of Jesus Christ (fifth bullet point).
Caritas is reputedly the main social organization inside the Vatican. Yet as the Lepanto Institute and other organizations have pointed out, Caritas has been funding and even directing socialist organizations in their promotions of abortion, contraception, marxism etc.
Lepanto has discovered yet another squalid venture of Caritas. An outfit called Cordaid is apparently a co-founder of Caritas, and remains as the representative of Caritas in the Netherlands. As you read the link to the Lepanto expose, you'll see that Cordaid is directly involved in the distribution of contraception, sex education, condoms, etc to African countries. They even gave money to Planned Parenthood of Siera Leone. It appears that Cardinal Maradiaga stepped down as head of Caritas and was succeeded by Cardinal Tagle of the Philippines. The Lepanto article ends with a suggestion that Cardinal Tagle be petitioned to separate Cordaid from Caritas. That might be nice, but give what I've seen of Cardinal Tagle, one should not be surprised if these petitions are disregarded.
By the way - the Cordaid link contains a video report of the misdeeds of Caritas. Accuracy in Media checked out the facts stated therein and found them to be accurate. Caritas is promoting disobedience to the Church's teachings on life and sexuality, and also those regarding communism.
Now we'll address the second bullet point in my "smoke" post: advancement of the gay agenda. First a shout-out to the Lepanto Institue for ferreting out all these snakes in the grass. We'll now look at some mischief surrounding the Pope's visit to Philadelphia next September. It's a big conference and as can be expected, there will be many exhibitors. Someone has to decide what organizations will be allowed to exhibit at this conference. Who might that someone be? Lepanto found the answer and it is most disquieting to say the least. Her name is Teresa Matozzo and she works for Talley Management Group. She is also a gay activist in a lesbian relationship. Do we see any potential for dissident bias in the decision-making process? As critical as that question might be, that's not the most serious question here. That would be, "what possessed the event organizers to allow a gay activist to have such a role in this papal conference?"
Today we learned from LifeSiteNews that in the wake of the Irish vote disaster and the "shadow council", that Cardinal Kasper wants the synod to consider "the question of same-sex couples". Cardinal Kasper has written his own book called Pope Francis' Revolution Of Tenderness And Love. (Since when is love a revolutionary concept in the Catholic Church?) It's published by Paulist Press. Father Janus, president of Paulist Press, gave to the pope a copy of that book along with a film about LGBT Catholics called "Owning Our Faith". Watch the clip and you'll see immediately the heresies therein; (is the priest interviewed in that film still allowed to conduct himself as priest?) If Father Janus is championing both the film and book, I can only surmise that the book is similarly oriented.
It sure seems we're being force-fed a raunchy diet of pro-sodomy propaganda. I suspect it's part and parcel of the "maturation" that we're supposed to undergo before the next October sin-nod. I might suggest a read of Lepanto's treatise on Fatima as it relates to sodomy.

Voris Rebukes Some High-Placed German Bishops
In today's Vortex, Michael Voris calls out the bishops of Germany for their heresy. I just have a few caveats. First, while he rightly rebukes Cardinals Kasper and Marx, one must bear in mind just who is enabling these men to wield considerable influence. It is none other than Pope Francis. While he lauds the heretical Kasper as a "serene theologian" he has stripped Cardinal Burke, a truly capable and faithful son of the Church of all Vatican authority and assigned him a largely ceremonial role. I believe that means that Cardinal Burke will not be able to attend next year's Ordinary Synod on the Family.
I also hoped that he would have exempted Cardinals Gerhard Muller and Walter Brandmuller, for they have spoken against much nonsense, including some that occurred at last month's SinNod. They are Germans but they are so in the mold of Cardinal Von Galen. Of course we won't forget the German bishop who is now the Pope Emeritus.
He does accurately diagnose some motives behind Kasper's shilling for laxity in Catholic moral teaching. Listen closely as he describes how Germany allots tax revenues to the churches in its borders. But as you do, bear in mind the question, "who is enabling Kasper and Marx in their promulgation of heresy and dereliction of duty?"

Cardinal Burke's Straight-Forward Interview In Vienna - And Why We Bloggers Write
He participated in a panel discussion in Vienna on November 4th, as he was presenting the book "Remaining In The Truth Of Christ". His Eminence stated that he and the other writers wrote it to rebut the "claims of Cardinal Kasper"; Cardinal Burke is far too restrained, but I'm not. Those "claims of Cardinal Kasper" are outright heresy. So who is cashiered from the Vatican and who retains his position of influence? The moral responsibility for that travesty lies squarely at the feet of Pope Francis, but I digress.
I will link to Gloria.tv's post, with video of the discussion. Note at 12:41 when he that "one of the profound sadnesses of the synod. at least in the first week of the synod, is the seeming forgetfulness of the Magisterium. It was as if the church for the first time, addressing the question of marriage and teaching about it.." At 29:04 he called the interim relatio "one of the saddest documents that I could ever imagine coming from the church.."
While it's a little over 40 minutes long, I'd suggest you listen to it. And by all means, if you haven't done so already, get your own copy of "Remaining In The Truth Of Christ".
Let me raise another point. If not for the efforts of Gloria.tv, Vortex, many good Catholic bloggers and yes, Yours Truly, you may not have heard half of what Cardinal Burke and other faithful Catholics had to say about the SinNod. Another blogger makes this point quite well. We humbly endeavor to highlight the truth that other mainstream Catholic media won't broach. We shine light on cockroaches, as it were. We will continue to do so.

Cardinal Burke And Archbishop Schneider Warn Of Evils Underlying SinNod Debacle
Cardinal Raymond Burke, now Patron of the Order of Malta, gave an interview to Breitbart News this past Tuesday November 4. In it he stated that the Church risks schism if bishops are seen as going contrary to the Church's teachings in the month ahead. No doubt exists in my mind that he is speaking of Cardinals Kasper, Marx, Baldiserri and others who seek to change the Church's teachings on marriage and Holy Communion to a horrible deformation of Christ's authentic commands. He warned of trying to accommodate the faith to the culture.
By the way - I've reason to believe that Cardinal Kasper will be exercising strong influence over the USCCB meeting that starts tomorrow in Baltimore. Since he was in the area last Thursday, he may well even be at the meeting - or at least orchestrating things from the background.
The next day Archbishop Athanasius Schneider also gave an interview, echoing many of Burke's concerns. Rorate Caeli has the entire text of the interview. He state that during the SinNod there were moments of obvious manipulation and that "the interim report was clearly a prefabricated text with no reference to actual statement of the synod fathers". I mentioned that in earlier posts. Consider. If indeed the SinNod puppet-masters put forth a prefabricated document while holding it out to be a reflection of deliberations that just happened, they were in fact lying to the Church at large. There's no way to put lipstick on that pig. Since the pope hand-picked those extra men (including Cardinal Wuerl) to the committee to compose that report, is it not logical to deduce that if the report was prefabricated that happened with the pope's approval if not initiation?
Schneider then called those paragraphs on divorced/remarried people and homosexuality as stemming from a "radical neo-pagan ideology". He stated that the interim report will remain "a black mark which has stained the honor of the Apostolic See". While he praises the final report, he also expresses concern that the paragraphs remain in the final report. I've no doubt that this is being done to keep those topics "on the table" for next year's ordinary synod.
I'd urge study of the remarks of both these men. Pray for them as well as the Church. Cardinal Burke has already tasted vengeance for speaking the truth. Will similar fates await Scheider, Muller, Pell and others? We will be watching.

Today Is A Day Of Shame For The Catholic Church
We knew this would happen since September. The announcement appeared today on the Vatican website that Cardinal Raymond Burke has been removed from his post as Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura and will now be patron of the Order of Malta. Until today, Burke was the highest ranking American in the Vatican, overseeing the Vatican's highest court. Now his position is largely ceremonial. Ladies and gentlemen, make no mistake about it. Cardinal Burke, for all his loyal and impeccable service to the Church, has been shamefully insulted by the Pope. Some will wince at that last statement, but it is what it is. LifeSiteNews has more detail. On that page is an open letter to the Cardinal, thanking him for his service at the Vatican.

It was written and published in anticipation of the attacks that were sustained on the Church's teachings in those two crucial areas. We all recall that Cardinal Kasper fired some opening volleys on the Magisterium in those areas. In Cardinal Burke's article entitled "The Canonical Nullity Of The Marriage Process As The Search For The Truth", Cardinal Burke contradicts Cardinal Kasper by name. This book is no doubt part of the reason why the Pope has thrown Cardinal Burke under the bus, because truth is spoken in that book. Ignatius Press published it; I got my copy through Amazon.
It is this same Cardinal Kasper who spoke at CUA yesterday and who I suspect will bepoisoning contributing to the USCCB meeting next week. Kasper claimed to speak for the pope; since the latter never repudiated that I assume there's truth to Kasper's statement. Moreover the pope praised Kasper's "serene theology" during the SinNod. Burke took issue with some of that "sereneness". I strongly suspect that earned him the sacking that was made official today.

CUA - Cardinal Kasper Does Damage Control For Pope Francis
As stated a few days ago, Cardinal Kasper was slated to give an address at Catholic University of America yesterday. He did, as scheduled. What I know of the address can be found at Catholic News Agency.
The main purpose of his address seemed to be to project a particular picture of Pope Francis. He cautioned against conceptions "which try to appropriate Pope Francis in their own way." Thus said he who claimed to speak for the pope a month or two ago. Cardinal Burke's contradiction of that statement notwithstanding, Cardinal Kasper probably does speak for the pope. It is precisely that which makes Kasper's shilling for Holy Communion for those living in adultery to be so troubling.
Further in the address Kasper said that Pope Francis can be better understood against "the backdrop of Argentinian liberation theology". That would be the same "liberation theology" roundly condemned by Pope Benedict XVI in December 2009; see this Vatican site - you'll probably need to translate it.
Then he introduces a rather bizarre concept of "theology of the people". "Theology of the people"???!??! Pardon my french, but what the hell is that???? He says Pope Francis honors the concept of sensus fidei, but of course that leaves us to wonder how the pope honored the sensus fidei of the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate, or even that of the synod fathers when he ordered the voted-down heretical paragraphs to be included in the final relatio synodi.
I urge all to read carefully the Catholic News Agency link, for it summarizes quite well how dangerous Cardinal Kasper is to the True Faith. Moreover, since Pope Francis has yet to contradict Kasper's claim of speaking for him, it is not unreasonable to opine that perhaps he too embraces those same harmful mindsets.

From The Maturation Department - Another Reason Why Cdl Kasper Might Be In Town?
Call me cynical, but I find it hard to believe that Cardinal Kasper would take the time and trouble to fly across the Atlantic just to receive one bauble and make one speech at Catholic University of America on November 6 (see previous post). It dawned on me just this morning that I should check out the precise dates of the USCCB's annual November meeting in nearby Baltimore. Sure enough! The scheduled dates are Nov 10 - 13, at the Marriott Waterfront in Baltimore (Inner Harbor area).
So Kasper's CUA appearance is the evening of Thursday the 6th. The USCCB meeting starts the following Monday. Will he be putting in an appearance at the meeting? Here's the USCCB info about this meeting. Am I the only one who finds this agenda to be rather curious for what's NOT on it? Two weeks ago occurred one of the most controversial meetings in recent church history. Yet the word "synod" is not to be found on the USCCB page that's dedicated to this meeting.
I'm willing to go out on a limb and opine that the SinNod most certainly will be discussed at the meeting that will start one week from tomorrow. After all, there is only this meeting, with next summer's meeting, tobrowbeat faithful bishops "help" faithful bishops to "mature". I also think that the main reason for Kasper's trip is to attend that meeting OR, at the very least, to drive some of the preparation for that meeting during the preceding weekend after his CUA appearance. I understand that this CUA award is prestigious, but it cannot be so wondrous as to justify a transatlantic trip!

Double-Shame On CUA - Dissident Cardinal Kasper To Receive Award From CUA
Two days ago the esteemed Cardinal Burke gave an interview to the Catholic World Report. In that interview he lamented that the SinNod was obviously orchestrated by certain elements (and Edward Pentin opines from the top - the Pope?) to advance progressive, dissident agendas. He also went so far as to say that Cardinal Kasper's racist remarks were made to advance his dissident positions. It is obvious that indeed the remarks were a clumsy attempt to discredit Cardinal Napier. He might have gotten away with his lie had it not been for Edward Pentin's recording.
Quite frankly, Cardinal Kasper has been shown to be a flaming dissident and a bald-faced liar.
Now comes the burning question Why, oh why, is the Catholic University of America going to bestow its Johannes Quasten Award on him on Nove 6th? See this Rorate Caeli post for the details. Apparently the attendees will also sit through his wind-bag exercise about the "Theological Background of the Ecclesiological and Ecumenical Vision of Pope Francis". I don't know about any of you, but I think the world has already had its face rubbed enough in that muddy mess of a "vision". At the end of his closing remarks at the end of the SinNod, the pope said we now have "one year to mature". "Mature" means to be brainwashed into accepting heresy. It's odd how I'm just noticing now that "mature" and "manure" are different by only one letter - but in the context of the pope's address I don't think it's that much of a difference. But with this address, the "manure-maturation" process will be underway! I am reminded of David Kupelian's book The Marketing of Evil. He talks of the psychological process of jamming. But let's get back to the Catholic University of America. What has gotten into them? As we saw yesterday, they are about to renege on their responsibilities as Catholic educators and let a gay rights activist be celebrated on campus. Now they're going to bestow a prestigious award to a dissident cleric who has attempted to push through his warped agenda during last week's SinNod. In prior posts I have lauded CUA for standing firm in Catholic matters, such as keeping their dorms unisex. Now with these two pieces of news that I share, I must wonder if they've been infected with that deadly disease known as "the Francis Effect". Pray for CUA, for things don't bode well for them spiritually.
Quite frankly, Cardinal Kasper has been shown to be a flaming dissident and a bald-faced liar.
Now comes the burning question Why, oh why, is the Catholic University of America going to bestow its Johannes Quasten Award on him on Nove 6th? See this Rorate Caeli post for the details. Apparently the attendees will also sit through his wind-bag exercise about the "Theological Background of the Ecclesiological and Ecumenical Vision of Pope Francis". I don't know about any of you, but I think the world has already had its face rubbed enough in that muddy mess of a "vision". At the end of his closing remarks at the end of the SinNod, the pope said we now have "one year to mature". "Mature" means to be brainwashed into accepting heresy. It's odd how I'm just noticing now that "mature" and "manure" are different by only one letter - but in the context of the pope's address I don't think it's that much of a difference. But with this address, the "manure-maturation" process will be underway! I am reminded of David Kupelian's book The Marketing of Evil. He talks of the psychological process of jamming. With The Ouster Of Cdl Burke And Misconduct Of SinNod, The "Lovable" Mask Comes Off Pope Francis
No longer can any thinking, alert Catholic believe that Pope Francis is an affable "good ole boy" who likes to live simply and put clown noses on his face for silly selfies. It is becoming painfully obvious that he is quite skilled in Machiavellian and Alinskyan tactics for advancing his agenda. These skills have been displayed all too well at this SinNod.
A few days ago, after the release of the interim relatio, Cardinal Burke publicly urged - challenged - the Pope to defend unambiguously the teachings of the Church regarding marriage. It should be emphasized that these teachings are those of Jesus Christ Himself. Yesterday Cardinal Pell echoed that challenge. However, it does seem that the agenda of the SinNod was planned well in advance - and that the relatio may have been written before the SinNod convened!

- Over-emphasis on divorced/remarried issues to the exclusion of others (pornography, polygamy in Africa, etc)
- An obvious deference to the opinions of the secular world as to what constitutes "mercy"
Cardinal Walter Kasper of Germany appears to be the "front man" for the Vatican apparatus that is pushing for doctrinal changes in regards to distributing Holy Communion to de facto adulterers. There is much information about Kasper and his thinking; I won't delve into it here lest I digress from the main points of this post, but I do urge all to read it.
I will also link to a National Catholic Register article by Edward Pentin (the same who caught Kasper in a lie regarding his African quip). The evidence he cites, plus other points cited by others and me (review my postings from this past week) during the past few days, indicates that this SinNod is not much more than an engineered "dog and pony show" conducted to give cover to the advancement of a diabolical agenda masterminded by a select few. If true, we can only conclude that Pope Francis is one of those select few. If this isn't Machiavellian and Alinskyan, I don't know what is.

SinNod Full Of Satan's Smoke, Perhaps Irreparably
Surely the diabolical relatio that was released a few days ago should have removed any doubts of that. But if one still refuses to remove their rose-colored glasses, take a gander at the arrogance of Cardinal Kasper, one of the fomenters of the demonic proceedings. In an interview with Zenit earlier today, he opined that a "growing majority" in the SinNod are in favor of divorced and civilly-remarried Catholics (translation of gobblygook - Catholics living in the mortal sin of adultery). He also admitted that in the SinNod, the imput of African bishops regarding homosexuality is ignored. Now just think! If a conservative-leaning prelate had the audacity to say that input from African bishops about any topic was ignored, the mainstream media would be waxing apoplectic over the matter with indignant cries of "racism!" and such being hurled hither and yon. Have you heard any such outcry in the wake of Kasper's arrogance? Neither have I.
However, some prelates are having nothing to do with Kasper's cheap tricks. Many of them have denounced the relatio, with Cardinal Muller calling it "shameful, undignified and completely wrong". Others joining him include Cardinals Burke, Oullet and Dolan (good for him on this moment of lucidity!).
There are some who still deny the obvious work of satan through his minions in the SinNod, choosing to trot out the "bad translation" canard. Oh, please! This "faulty translation" excuse got old some time ago - bad translation of interviews, etc. Sheesh! How did the previous pontiffs ever get by without 10% of the "translation issues" that are the favorite excuses of this papacy? Moreover, my readers know that I linked to the relatio on the Vatican website. The Vatican, right up to the pope, owns the English translation - no excuses!
I now post today's installment from the Vortex's reports on the events of the SinNod. He reiterates Cardinal Burke's challenge to the Pope to clearly defend traditional Church teaching regarding marriage and family life. Whether he does so or not will clearly indicate the Pope's mindset on these crucial matters.

First Reading For Today's Mass - A Warning For Synod Participants And The Bishops
It's Isaiah 5:1-7. I'll copy the Douay-Rheims version below, and then my thoughts.
I think the parallel between the state of that vineyard and the current state of the Church is all too obvious. We have many "wild grapes" within the midst of the clergy, spewing forth "foul wine" that is, heresy. Yesterday I posted a video of Cardinal Walter Kasper doing precisely that. Almost every sentence he uttered was heresy capable of damning an ignorant soul to hell.
Read a post from Fr Z's blog about Kasper's opinion of the Church's teachings on adultery, teachings that are derived from Jesus Christ Himself. Kasper went so far as to opine that the language the Church uses about adultery, drawn from the words of Jesus, would cause these culprits to feel offended. I will make a point that I didn't see in Fr. Z's blog. In making that horrific statement, Cardinal Kasper has set himself up as a judge: not of the Pope, not of fellow bishops, but as a judge of Jesus Christ Himself. And this is a man that Pope Francis called "a clever theologian". Well, we know "clever" can have several meanings, don't we?
Looking at Kasper in light of today's first reading, I can only imagine Kasper as the quintessential "wild grape". He's probably not the only one there. These "wild grapes" are tearing down the protective hedges and walls around Holy Mother Church.
The question of why these "wild grapes" are allowed to occupy places of influence in the Church will have to be faced one day. For now, we must pray that at this synod, the damage that these "wild grapes" would inflict will be curtailed.

Tomorrow The Synod Begins - Yikes!
Tomorrrow the long-awaited (or dreaded) Extraordinary Synod on the Family begins at the Vatican. This blog hasn't said too much about it because many excellent points have been made elsewhere. I do want to point out a few things of note.
Cardinal Walter Kasper of Germany has made the statement that Pope Francis wants to change Church law to allow divorced and civilly remarried Catholics to Holy Communion. He also made the incredible statement that the Church is "not against birth control".
Kasper was contradicted in writing by five other cardinals; among them are Cardinal Gerhard Muller and Cardinal Raymond Burke (go here to order their book; it should be released presently). Kasper took some umbrage at having his heresies contradicted by good men. He flat out said that he "cleared it with the Pope". Given the high position that Kasper enjoys AND the fact that Burke was cut from his positions of influence at the Vatican, I fear Kasper might be telling the truth. Kasper also said he "speaks for the Pope". I appreciate the rebuttal that Cardinal Burke offered, but again I must wonder if there is at least a grain of truth to Kasper's claim.
A few days ago I wrote of my ever-mounting concerns for this papacy. Will we see similar anomalies proceed from this synod? Barring a miracle we will. My friend at "What Did the Pope Really Say?" has written some excellent pieces these past several days. Hop over there and take a look.

The video portrays him as someone "kind and compassionate", not as he truly is - someone who (regardless of motive) will cause countless souls to be damned if he is not held in check. Now who produced that video? Look in the bottom left corner. That is the logo of the Catholic News Service, a media arm of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. That should tell us quite a bit about the mindsets of the gremlins who pull the puppet strings at the USCCB. I suspect those gremlins have counterparts in the Vatican.

This Papacy - Troubling Incidents Continue To Increase
A few weeks ago, I wrote of "Obvious Questions Regarding This Papacy". Since then, more questions have surfaced. First, I recommend to your reading "The Rise Of Bergoglianism" by Christopher Ferrara. While I look a bit askance at the term "bergoglianism", Ferrara reminds us of some things that should cause us to have great concern for the future of the Church.
I won't rehash what Ferrara wrote, please read for yourselves. I will mention that Ferrara missed a few things. For one thing, there was the multi-marriage extravaganza that occurred earlier this month, and the plethora of issues raised with that. There is the bizarre treatment meted out to Cardinal Burke; see here and here. There is the rather nauseating appointment of Bishop Blase Cupich as Archbishop of Chicago. I haven't written about this (yet) but other blogging colleagues have. See here and here. There is also the troubling dismissal of Bishop Rogelio Livieres of Paraguay. He was an opponent of liberation theology (quite the fad in Paraguay) and one who managed to fill his seminaries with numerous vocations. More troubling is that Pope Francis has refused to receive the bishop when he came to discuss his dismissal, as no reasons had been given to him beforehand.
Then there is the matter of Cardinal Walter Kasper. He is reputed to be a close friend of Pope Francis' and will most likely wield much influence at the Extraordinary Synod of the Family to be held next month. He has stated that he favors the allowance of Holy Communion to those Catholics who are divorced and who have civilly remarried without obtaining a Church annulment. Now mind you, he's not about "changing doctrine", but just "pastoral practice". Got that? Gotta love that "pastoral" word - it allows for all sorts of double-talk chicanery. Kasper had the gall to insinuate that his proposal "was agreed" ahead of time by the Holy Father. I pray that's presumptuous double-talk for the only other explanation is horrifying.
Kasper is also on record as favoring a "reinterpretation of the Church's ban on contraception". He says that "so-called natural family planning, which is promoted by the Church as an alternative to contraception, also has an artificial element", according to the Telegraph. Read John Kippley's analysis of this statement. So in addition to a major theological failure, we also have from Kasper a biological gaffe as well.
So Cardinal Kasper wields Vatican influence and Bishop Cupich takes the See of Chicago, while Cardinal Burke and Bishop Livieres have been given the proverbial boot. It makes sense, and I'm not being sarcastic. There seems to be a move to marginalize authentic tradition for intellectual and theological slop, and sentimental notions of "mercy" and being "pastoral".
We need to pray for this upcoming Synod. Again, the Vicar of Christ cannot solemnly promulgate error. But other sorts of havoc, almost equally damaging, can be visited upon the Church. I join my friend Carol in stating that this blog also refuses to be silent regarding the increasing number of "elephants in the living room". We must see clearly in order to pray properly. We will pray as we sound alarms.

Pope Expounding On Kasper's Mess With Divorcees And Holy Communion
Rorate Caeli has a quote from an interview in which the Holy Father is asked to clarify Cardinal Kasper's controversial remarks about Communion and remarried divorcees. My colleague at the Tenth Crusade commented on the interview. She got far more out of it than did I. For the life of me, I still cannot make heads or tails of that verbal gobblygoop. Mea culpa!

Good Bishops Forced To Mop Up Messes Caused By Vatican Misspeak
Archbishop Kaigama of Nigeria, in defending the Church's teaching on the nature of marriage, had to point out that he was NOT contradicting Pope Francis in light of the latter's infamous "who am I to judge?" quip.
Also regarding marriage, specifically in regards to divorce and remarriage, we see in this interview Cardinal Burke (Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura) taking some issue with remarks made by Cardinal Kasper.
