A few days ago I commented about the US-Cuban disaster that was brokered in part by Pope Francis. Some of that deal's most vociferous opponents are Cuban refuges. A Cuban gentleman in Florida, who was a political prisoner of the Castro regime for 16 years reacted to the deal by stating "I'm Still Catholic till the day I die, but I am a Catholic without a pope."
Miami Archbishop Thomas Wenski chided these Catholics by saying "you can't build a future on top of resentments." May I suggest that those Catholics whose concerns are dismissed by this bishop are not so much resentful, but knowledgeable? They know the evils of which the Castros are capable for they have lived through it.
Would someone please point me to one single concession for human rights to which the Castros agreed as part of this shyster deal? All I see is opportunities for some American businesses - with US money lining the pockets of the slave-drivers over there. The only thing I see being fostered is the enrichment of the communist thugs.
That this pope helped foster this dismal arrangement is a disgrace and a slap in the face to the Cubans who suffer and continue to suffer because of socialism and communism.

Pope Francis And Obama Bow Before Fidel And Raul Castro
Many have learned that the Messiah Most Miserable made moves to "normalize" relations with Cuba, with ostensible "assistance" from the Holy Father. In reality, both men only served to ensconce the murderous Castro dynasty even deeper in Cuba, thus solidifying the de facto slave status of the Cuban people.
I link to a number of links to explain why this action is nothing short of a disaster (nothing new for either Obama or Pope Francis). Lee Edwards explained in his piece why our embargo against Cuba was established in the first place. The Acton Institute delved a bit into the pope's role in facilitating discussions between Obama and Raul Castro.
Senator Marco Rubio, himself of Cuban descent, gave an interview with Mark Levin. He explains how the US garnered nothing from this exchange while the Castro regime will only be enriched by it, leaving little for the Cuban people. Cuba has been a base from which Communist regimes took hold in Latin America (some were subsequently evicted). Our current pope has demonstrated socialist leanings. Might there be a link? Either that or he's simply bereft of any common sense regarding the nature of atheistic communism.

Strange Papal Treatment Of Two Priests
We all know of the shameful treatment that has been meted out on the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate. Under Pope Benedict XVI, this traditional order was celebrating the Latin Mass and had a stellar number of vocations. That changed when the order was basically quashed for reasons that are spurious at best. Moreover, one of the now-elderly founders, Father Stefano Manelli, has been exiled to an out-of-the-way place and essentially placed under "house arrest". He was even forbidden to leave the place on his 81st birthday to visit his parents' graves and celebrate Mass. By all accounts Father Manelli is an exemplary priest. All this is being done with approval from the highest offices of the Vatican.
On the other hand we have the case of Father Miguel d'Escoto Brockmann, a progressive priest who just had his 29-year suspension lifted by Pope Francis. This is a priest who has called Ronald Reagan a butcher while singing the praises of Daniel Ortega and the Sandanistas, and of Fidel Castro, one of the most brutal of the modern dictators. He also espouses liberation theology. He held public office and was suspended by Pope John Paul II when he refused to step down from public office. There is no record of him recanting his public disobedience.
So here we have it: a backwards set of priorities when it comes to the pope dealing with his priests-sons. He leaves to languish in exile a faithful priest while lifting the suspension of a priest who is most likely still a very progressive priest. We all can see what is wrong with this picture. Why does His Holiness not see it?

Most Holy Redeemer In San Francisco Pulls Another Gaffe
I am linking to a video of a transvestite orgy. That really is a man that you see performing the disgusting dance and that really is a bunch of perverts hooting and hollering and tossing him money. Is this debacle taking place in some seedy bar in a run-down section of town? No.
It's occurring in an auditorium of a Catholic parish - Most Holy Redeemer, in the Castro neighborhood of San Francisco. Read more about the event from California Catholic Daily. As you read, take note of other planned sacrileges at that parish that were canceled by the archdiocese under outside pressure. Ladies and gentlemen, that "outside pressure" came from faithful Catholics throughout the nation (and probably beyond) who rose their voices in protest.
If ever a parish needed to be suppressed and the building/grounds de-consecrated, Most Holy Redeemer would be at the top of that list.

Fidel Castro Praises "Miracle" of Health Care Bill
Fidel Castro, Tinhorn-Tyrant Emeritus of Cuba, has praised the passage of the Hell Bill as "a miracle" and major victory for the Obama presidency. I concur that the passage is a victory for the Obama presidency. However, for the American people, it is an unprecedented disaster. For a portent of what's to come, just witness all the Cubans who have been fleeing to Florida for decades. If it's such a "people's paradise" over there, what with "free health care" and all, why have so many Cubans risked life and limb to flee to this backwards hinterland called the United States of America?
Reading further down the article, we read that Raul Castro, that is, Tinhorn-Tyrant-in-Training, has warned that some of the "free goodies" that have been so graciously bestowed on Cuban citizenry are "no longer sustainable given Cuba's ever-struggling economy". But as Margaret Thatcher, former British Prime Minister so aptly said, "Socialist governments traditionally do make a financial mess. They [socialists] always run out of other people's money. It's quite a characteristic of them."
By the way - what's with all this "miracle" talk? I thought the Communist creed was atheistic. Since when is Castro waxing "religious" on us, all of the sudden? Castro also took occasion to chide Obama on immigration reform and climate change. Hey! No problem! The Obamaphiles are already on the job! Check out the USCCB site. They're already trying to brainwash us in the right direction. We see that even today, Cardinal Mahoney of Los Angeles is saying a Mass for Immigrants downtown today, followed by a march (check out previous posts). And what do we think the Lenten Carbon Fast was all about?
