Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen On True Versus False Compassion

Venerable Sheen died in 1979; I don't know how old this clip is, but it is quite prophetic.  So many who are unthinking lemmings of the USCCB's "social justice" racket need to see this - just to see how  destructive and even damning is their constant shilling for governmental intervention.  Certainly we could recommend it for Cardinal Dolan, as his celebration of gays in the St Patrick's Day parade will only grease the skids as those poor souls careen towards eternal perdition.

Cardinal Dolan: Does His Capitulation To Gays In St Patrick's Parade Constitute Cooperation With Mortal Sin?

Michael Voris put out a special report on Dolan's latest scandal - that of a Catholic prelate affirming the gay lifestyle as will be displayed at the next St Patrick's parade.  It's not the first time his seeming indifference to the mortal sin of sodomy has caused much scandal and evisceration of his own moral authority as a bishop.  Now, though, it isn't merely indifference.  The gays will be flouting their mortal sin - and Cardinal Dolan will literally be leading the charge!

So here's a question for orthodox theologians.  Does Dolan's stance constitute formal cooperation with the sin of homosexual conduct?

Gay-Sympathetic Sister To Speak At Mother Seton Event - Please Pray And Take Action

In a comment to one of my April 6 post, an anonymous reader mentioned that Sister Anne Bryan Smollin is to be the featured speaker at a breakfast sponsored by Mother Seton Parish in Germantown MD.  He/she pointed to a number of links that demonstrate that Sister does not adhere to Church teaching on homosexual conduct.  I've no doubt that the pastor is unaware of this and perhaps the same could be said of those who are contemplating being a part of this event.  To that end, I wrote to Father Lee Fangmeyer, pastor of Mother Seton, this open letter.  Please circulate this around and encourage others to speak out (in a respectful manner) - or at least consider not attending this event.  Now the letter...

Hello, Father Fangmeyer.   I am a parishioner of St John Neumann, the parish to the southeast of your location.  In our own parish bulletin this past weekend, we saw an announcement regarding a breakfast that will be sponsored by your parish’s Sodality of Our Lady.  It is to be held Sunday May 4^th and features a speaker named Sister Anne Bryan Smollin, CSJ.   It was brought to my attention that Sister has spoken at “Catholic gay ministries” conferences; see https://www.calgm.org/calgm-national-conferences.   This is the sort of “gay ministry” that reinforces homosexual Catholics in their disordered passions as opposed to helping them live chaste lives (unlike the truly worth Courage Ministries).  You may also wish to review this http://www.natcath.org/NCR_Online/archives/101802/101802i.htm.

I am trusting that most members of the Sodality of Our Lady would be aghast at the thought of paying honorarium to someone who dissents from the Magisterium regarding homosexual conduct and lifestyle.  No doubt you are and many others would be.  To that end, I am writing this open letter to you in the hopes that this event can be stopped or at least potential attendees can be advised of this serious problem before they commit to giving Sister an undeserved audience.

Is Pope Francis Equivocating On The Mortal Sin Of Homsexual Relations, Or...

Or is that merely wishful thinking on the part of some Cardinals??

I'm baffled by this article.  I truly hope this is more twisting of the Holy Father's words.  However, the progressive media can twist his words only as far as the words themselves are susceptible to such manipulation.  With the possible exception of the condom remark, I never heard Pope Benedict's words bandied about; that's because his words were crystal clear and thus did not lend themselves to distortion.

According to that article, His Holiness wants to stop condemning same-sex unions and instead "study them" - per Cardinal Dolan.  So we would should not condemn that sin, should not perform the Spiritual Works of Mercy such as "rebuke the sinner" and "instruct the ignorant", thus imperiling the souls of many?  Let's do a little word-substitution here.  Instead of "same-sex unions" let's say "child rape".  How about drunkedness?  Should we be silent and just "study" these too?  Really???

Some Pro-Life Youth Approve Of Homosexual Sin??

As I alluded in yesterday's post, this video below tells an even sorrier tale.  A goodly percentage of young people who participated in yesterday's March for Life now see nothing wrong with homosexual perversion.  (That can be gleaned from the affirmative answers given by 20% of those interviewed.)  In truth, not only is it perversion, but mortal sin that can damn a soul to hell for all eternity.

Again, this goes back to a gross dereliction of duty on the part of their parents and other mentors.  Why have they been so poorly taught?  No doubt many of these young people attend(ed) public high school.  Did their parents think to monitor the input coming from those progressive brain-washing dungeons?  By the way - with so many Catholic schools taking public money and assimilating Common Core ideas, they are not much better, if at all.

Voris makes plain that 90% of those interviewed identified themselves as Catholic.  Yet these Catholic view have obviously not been taught the contents and meaning of the encyclical Humanae Vitae.

To all parents, priests, teachers, youth group leaders:  YOU are answerable for the young people in your care.  If you recognize any of your charges among those who answered Voris in the affirmative, please be quaking in your boots for your own souls may be in danger.  Forget all the "positive happy-clappy" fluff and teach them the truths they need, not only to be effective pro-lifers but for their own eternal salvation.  Time is short.  Please delay no longer.
