May 29th Was A Very Special Day! Yes, Really!

Why was May 29th so special?  Because it was the first ever (drum roll and trumpets, please),

MENSTRUAL HYGIENE DAY!

Ta-da!  Thus sayeth our overlords at the Department of Labor as they search for ever-new and innovative ways to squander put our tax dollars to frivolous good use!

Take a good look at that link and see how politically correct they are.  Even though only women can menstruate, they carefully avoid the word "woman".  Instead, we are "menstruating persons" or "menstruators".

Menstruators!  What a word!  Is this what the feminist movement was really about, that the word "woman" became one of the new unmentionables?  Can you just imagine what the late Helen Reddy would do with her iconic song?

"I am menstrator.  Hear me roar in numbers too big to ignore... I am strong.  I am invincible.  I am menstruating person!"   Somehow it just doesn't have the same sound to it!

The Department of Labor is a colossal waste of tax dollars.

Yet Another From The "Your Tax Dollars Hard(ly) At Work" Department

Aren't they cute?  Nope!  These are models of micro-organisms that are at the root of sexually transmitted diseases.  Planned Parenthood is portraying deadly diseases as lovable little fuzz-balls.  But that's just part of the plan - to portray all sorts of spiritual and physical dangers as something trivial and even harmless, so as to lure the youth into lifestyles that will lead to both physical and eternal peril.

Yet another waste of our hard-earned dollars.

From The "Our Tax-Dollars At Work" Department

The Obamas are going on yet another vacation (surprise!), this time to Africa.  There will be a scintilla of "official business" conducted.  That said, there is now "justification" (ahem!) for sticking us, the taxpayers/suckers, with the tab.  And how much is that tab?  Why, it's a mere $60-100 million dollars!  That's all!  Jobs are being lost and our taxes are going up, but what the heck?  We are here to serve the wants and needs of the Messiah Most Miserable and assorted Minions Most Mindless!  After all, they have to transport 14 limousines, 56 support vehicles, an off-shore naval hospital, you know - all the things any regular family would bring on a junket abroad - again, with our tax dollars!

So much for judicious use of our federal tax-dollars.  However, we Marylanders get an additional treat, for Martin O'Malley is going on his own little junket, and I believe we poor slobs have the immense (dis)honor of picking up that tab vis-a-vis our Maryland taxes.  Oh, joy!!  This little frolic "trade and investment mission" will take him and his wife to Ireland and France.

Now understand that O'Malley has his sights set on the White House.  He has done all in his power to drag Maryland down the primrose path of progressivism: gay marriage, abortion-coddling, dream act, taxation to the whazoo.  Of course "drag" may not be the proper verb, since much of Maryland (Baltimore and the DC suburbs) is infested with liberalism (as evidenced by six MD school children being bullied over imagined "gun infractions").  He wants to show the Democrat puppet-masters (Soros et al) that he's a good little puppet that can deliver.  Perhaps in light of all of Obama's lavish vacations, he wants to show that he too can be profligate with taxpayers' dollars.  Granted he's not taking over a bunch of limos, but he's only a lowly governor - for now.  Wanna bet that (God forbid) he ever goes to the White House that he'll arrange lavish little trips for his family, on the dime of the US citizens?

Another Horse-Brained Way To Waste Tax Dollars

And yes, I do mean that adjective "horse-brained".  No more do we have White House tours (but expensive junkets for its occupants).  Air traffic towers are being reduced.  But there remains one critical outlay for $2 million.  The Bureau of Land Management is operating horse farms for the "benefit" of prisoners.

That's right!  Criminals, on your dime and mine, can go out to the Rockies and commune with nature and Mr Ed.  I've got a better idea for criminals.  It's called "hard labor".  Let them learn NOT to get back into prison in the first place.

More Sequestration Funding Priorities

I understand that 149 air control towers at smaller airports are going to close.  Why?  To continue funding these kind of important projects.  Ok, the grant was originally given in 2009 under one of Obama's first spending binges, but most of it hasn't been spent.  Do we really think the ducks would really mind if we took that money back and spent it on something truly useful?  In fact, they might appreciate Uncle Sam's respect of the privacy of their boudoirs!

Lunch Is On The House!!

When some people say it - they mean it!  Case in point?

That would be US Representative Laura Richardson (D-CA).  The Washington Times reported last week that her local office hosted a "briefing" for 1,000 senior citizens, paid from her congressional office fund.  The Times reported the elaborate menu, with "singing and dancing" reported.  The office funds are not to be used for social events.

This is not the first such alleged abuse by Rep Richardson.  Two months ago, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington asked the FBI to investigate her use of her office staff for campaigning functions.

Such is the arrogance of the progressives (and yes, the majority of these are by and large Democrats).  They seek to pick our pockets via taxes, self-righteously claiming that they know better what to do with our money than do we.  Now we see what they mean.  They have the complicity and cooperation of their partners who run that bureaucratic machine known as the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.  I hope this piece, and the Times article, sheds much needed light on these cockroaches.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you just how much that little "briefing lunch" cost us.  Sit down.  They shelled out of taxpayer funds, $20,000.00!  Let me spell that out, just to make sure there is no confusion with all those zeros.  That is Twenty Thousand Dollars!  Isn't that just....special???
