Yes, apparently even they realized that their snub of Cardinal Dolan would not win them any real Catholic votes (as opposed to votes of faux-katholycs along the lines of Pelosi, Biden, etc) so Cardinal Dolan will give the closing benediction.
Naturally they feel they have to remind one and all of the sort of "katholyc" faith they admire, so Sister Simone Campbell will also be addressing the Dems that evening. We hope and pray that His Eminence will pray for true Christian principles to once again guide the Democrats and that their platform undergo much needed reform (if not actual exorcism).

May I humbly remind the good Cardinal Dolan,
ReplyDeleteas he preens and pontificates under the spotlights
of the political conventions:
there is really room for only ONE superstar in his religion.
As the Cardinal addresses and blesses the Republicans and their billionaire buddies,
as he smiles upon those who would destroy Social Security and voucher Medicare to death,
as he joins with those who readily admit they they “don’t care about the very poor”......
it would be good, it would be very good ...for the dear Cardinal
to remember -and take to heart- the words of his boss,
who once said “What you do for the least of these you do for me”.
Unless perhaps, just perhaps,
the Cardinal is working for someone else these days?
As our Founding Fathers so wisely realized:
Politics, secular power, and Religion do not mix.
They bring out the worst in each other.
And ultimately.....they would destroy each other.
Stanchaz, there's so much error in your prattle I scarcely know where to begin - but I'll try.
DeleteAs I said, the Cardinal will also be giving closing benediction to the Democrats. What should he "remember" then? I for one think he should remind the Democrats that whatever "caring about the very poor" means, it does NOT mean facilitating the murders of their unborn children. It does NOT mean dishonoring marriage by holding up horrible caricatures as its equivalents.
Our Founding Fathers never held the ridiculous notion that religion and politics don't mix. They always held that Christianity is the moral underpinning of our constitutional republic. Indeed, the Declaration of Independence asserts that "we are endowed BY OUR CREATOR with certain unalienable rights..". Of course the Messiah Most Miserable has made a regrettable practice of eliminating those words that I capitalized. I therefore urge all to become familiar with our founding documents. I link to them on the right-hand side of this blog.
And that quote from the "boss", as you so flippantly call Our Lord? Notice the first three words, "What you do.." That's very important. They do not mean, "What you get the government to do (which they'll botch as bureaucracies invariably do)".
But as I understand it, they're still planning their Christless Muslim prayers. This speaks volumes.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck Dolan has betrayed the faith --it is no secret that despite all the Freedom rhetoric he is a Demokrat and an Obama Supporter--get rid of him and put Lori in New York as the leader of the American Church.
