Apologies To The Archdiocese Of Washington

In my post yesterday, I intimated that the reaction of the Archdiocese of Washington to the #mowwidge ruling was the most disgraceful that I read.  I must now correct that impression.  As unimpressive as Cardinal Wuerl's statement is, it's a few steps above the one I just saw from Archbishop Cupich of the Archdiocese of Chicago.  Here it is, in all its putrid equivocation.

The court redefined nothing.  All it did was perpetuate a lie, a pretense at marriage.  That's why I'm calling it #mowwidge.  When our bishops start condemning this crap from hell and call it what it is, perhaps then we'll see this culture restored.

  1. Oh yes, and what a bunch of mealy mouthed hogwash coming from my own Archbishop Cupich. Sigh...........an uphill battle all the way in this Diocese. Kind of like David facing Goliath, but we know who won that one, so.......

  2. I just read it. Somehow I thought for a second I was reading the obituaries. Must have been that tag on the left side. Respectful of the political demands for "equality"? It seem someone simply doesn't believe in hell there.

  3. Cardinal George spoke too soon when he said that his successor would die in prison. I see no reason to believe that Archbishop Cupich would go to prison for the Catholic Faith. There's certainly no indication that he's going to take a stand against the prevailing culture. We will see black Protestant pastors, Fundamentalists, and Muslims taking strong stands against "gay" marriage, but it is doubtful in the extreme that the archbishop will join them. It's more likely that he would throw true Catholics under the bus, much like Cardinal Wuerl did to Father Marcel Guarnizo.
