FACE Going Down

Today the US House Judiciary Committee advanced a bill authored by Chip Roy (R-TX) to repeal the FACE Act.  It is simply called the FACE Act Repeal Act.  The vote was largely along party lines.  I believe it will now advance to the House floor.  In the Senate chamber, Mike Lee, (R-UT) has introduced the Senate companion bill.  We will need to keep an eye on this and be prepared to lobby for this, as the pro-abortion crowd are already throwing snits.

Recall last year that the activists known as the Garland Nine were imprisoned on account of "violation" of this insidious attack on pro-lifers and the babies.  They would still be languishing in prison today, had not Donald Trump retaken the White House.  Shortly after he was inaugurated, January 23 to be precise, he signed pardons for them and several other pro-life activists and set them free.  Several of them attended the March for Life a few days later.

Now the first real steps have been taken to overturn FACE.  Planned Parenthood, while not completely defunded yet, has had its governmental spigot crimped.  Other positive developments are here.  Two takeaways:

1. Keep praying, particularly the Rosary.  Then keep active and watchful.  Trump's election affords us a window of opportunity that we dare not blow.  
2. Elections have consequences.  While many have finally awakened from the "never-Trump" stupor, some still arrogantly persist in it.  We must work with what we have.  Had enough of us stayed home on election day because we had no canonized saint running for office, the Garland Nine and others would still be in jail and Planned Parenthood would still be siphoning our tax dollars to slaughter babies.  Let's not blow the opportunity that God, in His mercy, has given us.

Travesty Of Justice In DC As Pro-Lifers Immediately Incarcerated

A total of ten pro-life activists were charged under the FACE act for engaging in a "traditional" rescue at the Washington Surgi-Clinic operated by Cesare Santangelo several years ago.  Five of them, Lauren Handy, Heather Idoni, Will Goodman, John Hinshaw and Herb/Rosemary Geraghty were under trial this past week in Washington DC, a trial fraught with pro-abortion bias.  Today the verdict was handed down.  All five received guilty verdicts on all counts.  Because a violation of the FACE act is considered "violent", they were all immediately incarcerated.

Next week the others will stand trial.  They are Jonathan Darnel, Joan Bell, Jay Smith, Jean Marshall, Paulette Harlow.  We must keep them in prayer.  The judges in DC, in fact the whole "justice" system here is a bought-and-paid-for sham.  I understand that appeals are in the works.

Chuck Schumer Directing Partisan Smear During Budget Battle

On Tuesday evening, Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was giving "talking point directions" to fellow Democrats, instructing them to call GOP "extreme".  The poor guy!  He was unaware that reporters were on the line, recording his, uh, "words of wisdom".  You will hear them yourself in the following clip.  That's how the progressive lemmings are trying to funnel our hard-earned dollars into Obamacare, Planned Parenthood, Cowboy Poetry Festivals, and Lord only knows what other pork-barrell junk.

So Chuckie-Boy got caught with both feet in mouth.  For those of you who scoff at the notion that the progressives are willing to engage in smear tactics while claiming to be pure as the driven snow, the irrefutable evidence is below.  Chuckie-Boy has had quite the chequered career when it comes to hard-balling pro-life people and the Constitution.

• He co-authored the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act.  This act renders feloneous the blocking of entrances to abortion mills - but only abortion mills.  That means the union thugs of Wisconsin who blockaded the Wisconsin state house a few weeks ago got off scott free.  It's an act targeted at those of a specific view point, but that doesn't concern Chuckie!  Oh, by the way - the other author was none other than Montgomery County's own Connie Morella.
• He doesn't know diddly-squat about the United States Constitution.  Read why in one of my previous posts.  No doubt this sort of ignorance impelled him to conduct his FACE caper.
