Nazi-Esque IRS Targets Christian And Conservative Organizations

Even the mainstream media has been unable to ignore the (one of) the latest scandal involving the Internal Revenue Service and its thinly-disguised animosity towards conservative organizations seeking tax-exempt status.  For instance, this Washington Post piece from yesterday acknowledges that the IRS was targeting for special scrutiny those organizations whose names included the phrases "tea party", "9/12", "patriot", "constitution"... you get the drift.  Still questions remain.  Lois Lerner, who oversees tax-exempt groups, told reporters that "front-line people in Cincinnati" were responsible, intimating that it was limited to those lower-level IRS operatives.  However, IRS offices in Washington and California originated very intrusive questionnaires to conservative applicants.

By the way - Ms Lerner's apology makes plain that only conservative groups were targeted.  To further amplify that point, consider the speedy, expeditious manner in which the application for a differently-oriented group was processed.  It took one short month from application date.  The charity was based in Arlington VA, but not registered in VA.  The name of this charity?  The Barack H. Obama Foundation!  It's run by Malik Obama, the president's half-brother.  Ain't that sweet??

Michele Bachmann, Chair of the House Tea Party Caucus, voiced her outrage at these revelations.  I understand that the GOP leadership is talking of hearings.  Let's hope that this saber-rattling of their is substantiated with some real back-bone.

Today I learned that the IRS, as part of their harassment of conservatives, targeted a local pro-life colleague of mine.  Peter Shinn sought tax-exemption status for his Cherish Life organization - an organization that has as part of its mission the education of churches about the horrors of abortion.  He was told that if he didn't present abortion from all perspectives (including the pro-murder one) that his organization was "political".  He didn't back down.  Here is the World Net Daily piece about this situation here.

The IRS also told the Pro-Life Coalition of Iowa that their non-profit status would not be granted unless they limited their picketing and protests at the local Planned Parenthood.  The Thomas More Society is representing PLCI in their kerfuffle with the IRS.

The IRS has gone so far as to target the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.  I've no doubt it's because Franklin Graham has been outspoken regarding the threats of both Islam and "gay marriage".  I'll post more as I learn more.  But as I said, even the mainstream media is no longer ignoring this.  For now, I'll leave you with this cheery thought: this Infernal Robbery Syndicate will be a key enforcer of Obamacare!

2013 And The Fiscal Cliff AND A Congressional Pay Raise

To all: my wishes and prayers for God's blessings on you and yours for a blessed 2013.

The news from Washington today, however, suggests that the year is starting off poorly.  The GOP on Capitol Hill (GOP = Gutless Old Poops) seem to be displaying their usual lack of spinal and intestinal fortitude.  From CNS News comes the report of the Senate's vote to "stave off the fiscal cliff".  In other words, the GOP is capitulating to the Messiah Most Miserable and to Dingy Harry and going along with their scheme to postpone real spending cuts.  Only 8 senators voted against it.  Some of those 8 were Democrats; good for them!

Now it goes to the House (by the way - aren't revenue bills supposed to originate in the House?).  We can pray for a New Year's miracle that John Boehner will actually conduct himself as a leader instead of the "Weeper of the House".  That would be a welcome surprise.

ADDENDUM
In the face of this "fiscal cliff" package that raises taxes by $41 for every $1 of tax cuts, the Messiah Most Miserable issued an "executive order" to raise the pay of Senators and Congresspeople (boys and girls, can we say "bribery"?  I salute Michele Bachmann for her move to reject that pay raise.  Click here if you can't see embedded video.

The Iowa Caucus Results - And Some Maryland News

Most by now have heard the results of yesterday's Iowa caucus.  Romney was favored to win and indeed he did - but only by 8 votes.  Rick Santorum virtually tied that vote - no small feat for one considered to be quite the underdog coming into the caucus.  Following behind them were Paul, Gingrich, Perry, Bachman and Huntsman (in that descending order).

I understand that Michele Bachman suspended her campaign.  In her remarks, she urged unity behind the eventual GOP nominee to defeat the Obama Hell Bill (my term, not hers).  I have the utmost respect for that lady.

Now I'll preface these next few statements by reminding one and all that this blog is NOT a "501c-anything".  That means I can voice all sorts of endorsements without running afoul of Infernal Robbery Syndicate.

At this time, I am voicing support for Rick Santorum.  For a handy checklist of the candidates' positions on key life/moral issues, you may visit this guide produced by the Family Research Council.  I strongly suspect that many of Bachman's supporters will drift towards Santorum.  I find the other candidates, for their own reasons, to be inferior to Santorum.

NOW FOR THE MARYLAND NEWS

It has come to my attention that State Senator Nancy Jacobs is running for US Congress.  She has her sights set on the seat currently held by pro-abortion Dutch Ruppersberger in Maryland's 2nd Congressional District (east of Baltimore, snaking from Harford County down to Glen Burnie and Severn).  She is slated to make her official announcement tomorrow, Jan 5th, 11:00am at Jad's Caddy Shack in Essex, MD.  She's solidly pro-life and deserves our support.

Rick Perry - Not A Pro-Life Candidate For President

Governor Rick Perry is being touted by many as being a viable GOP candidate to oppose Obama in the 2012 race.  While I applaud his stance on the defunding of Planned Parenthood, I don't believe he's the best candidate on the GOP side.

He first caused concern with his executive order requiring 12-yr-old girls to get the HPV vacccination.  He causes additional concern for me when he stated that the recent New York "gay marriage" nonsense was "fine by him".  In so doing, he cited the 10th Amendment of the Constitution.  Well, the Preamble of the Constitution states that an objective of the Constitution is to promote the "general welfare".  If Mr. Perry is oblivious to the fact that the protection of marriage as a union between a man and a woman is vital to the "general welfare", then in my humble opinion, he disqualifies himself from occupying the highest elected office in this country.  Michele Bachmann made a similar statement on "states' rights", but then she also stated that she would support a constitutional amendment to define the institution of marriage as being between a man and a woman.  I can respect her response, but not his.

Thank You, Andy And Michele!!

The Republican count for HR 1363, the government funding bill, was 208 yeas and 28 nays.  That means that the 208 RINOs might as well be pledging allegiance to the revamped banner that you see in the previous post below.  Only 28 Republicans can hold their heads high; they deserve our accolades and esteem.

Michele Bachmann and Steve King are amongst them.  Also in the faithful remnant is Andrew Harris, from Maryland's First Congressional District (eastern shore).  One sad disappointment was the vote of Roscoe Bartlett for this terrible capitulation to Planned Parenthood.  Roscoe!!!  How could you????

This Catholic Citizens of Illinois article will now give you an idea of what Planned Parenthood will continue to do with our tax dollars, now that the GOP leadership has rolled over and played dead.  In 2009, Planned Parenthood murdered over 330,000 babies.  That was about the population size of Cincinnati, Ohio at the time.  That's also a rate of one baby murdered every 95 seconds.  I believe that also boils down to PP being responsible for approximately 20% of all abortions performed.  Ladies and gentlemen, that is called "Your tax dollars - hard at work!"  For that, you have to thank Boehner et al, as well as Reid, Obama and the other usual gang of suspects.

Chuck Schumer Directing Partisan Smear During Budget Battle

On Tuesday evening, Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was giving "talking point directions" to fellow Democrats, instructing them to call GOP "extreme".  The poor guy!  He was unaware that reporters were on the line, recording his, uh, "words of wisdom".  You will hear them yourself in the following clip.  That's how the progressive lemmings are trying to funnel our hard-earned dollars into Obamacare, Planned Parenthood, Cowboy Poetry Festivals, and Lord only knows what other pork-barrell junk.

So Chuckie-Boy got caught with both feet in mouth.  For those of you who scoff at the notion that the progressives are willing to engage in smear tactics while claiming to be pure as the driven snow, the irrefutable evidence is below.  Chuckie-Boy has had quite the chequered career when it comes to hard-balling pro-life people and the Constitution.
  • He co-authored the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act.  This act renders feloneous the blocking of entrances to abortion mills - but only abortion mills.  That means the union thugs of Wisconsin who blockaded the Wisconsin state house a few weeks ago got off scott free.  It's an act targeted at those of a specific view point, but that doesn't concern Chuckie!  Oh, by the way - the other author was none other than Montgomery County's own Connie Morella.
  • He doesn't know diddly-squat about the United States Constitution.  Read why in one of my previous posts.  No doubt this sort of ignorance impelled him to conduct his FACE caper.
So now here's the clip, along with Michele Bachmann putting him and the other progressives in their places.  Click here if you can't see embedded video.

Michele Bachmann For President??

She is reportedly going to form a presidential exploratory committee in the summer.  So far she's the most appealing of those Republicans who have made presidential noises.  The thought of Trump, Gingrich, Romney and some others frankly turns my stomach, as all have displayed troublesome RINO characteristics and have given me reason to believe that they will not put the babies at the top of their priority lists.

Michele Bachmann has shown principle.  I don't have time to go into a litany right now, but bear in mind that when the first "continuing resolution" GOP betrayal went down, she was one of a handful of Republicans that opposed the betrayal of babies to Planned Parenthood courtesy of our tax dollars.

I encourage her to continue.

Just Say "NO!!" To ANY Budget, Short-Term Or Permanent, That Gives One More Red Penny To Planned Parenthood

Much of this information comes from Jill Stanek's blog; I commend Family Research Council and other groups who are monitoring the votes.  The post relayed the dismal news that last evening, the GOP-controlled House Appropriations Committee released another proposed short-term Continuing Resolution to kick in when the current one expires next week.  It continues the Planned Parenthood funding to the tune of:

$950,000 each DAY

That is unacceptable, to say the least.
