Revisiting The 2010 Gonzaga Debacle

In his now-famous testimony, Archbishop Vigano stated that Pope Benedict XVI had forbidden then-Cardinal McCarrick from offering public Masses, and this prohibition occurred between 2009 and 2010.  I could be incorrect, but I think it safe to assume that if it was later, then it had to have happened in the early part of 2010, certainly before June.

Let's take a stroll down memory lane, shall we?  Long-time readers of this blog will recall that we picketed the 2010 commencement exercises of Gonzaga High because Sr Carol Keehan, who was so instrumental in foisting Obamacare on this country, was giving the commencement address.  Our account of it is here.  Please note that the video includes a very direct rebuke to then-Cardinal McCarrick, who presided at the Mass.

Now keep in mind that this Gonzaga even happened June 6, 2010.  Also consider from the first paragraph that he had been sanctioned by Benedict, probably before that commencement happened.  McCarrick was most likely offering that Mass in direct disobedience to Pope Benedict XVI.  Moreover, it is very likely he did so with Wuerl's full approval.  At the time, we had no way of knowing or even suspecting that.  We can assume the same ignorance of the Gonzaga administration and Sr Carol; I'm not sure they would have cared, but that's beside the point.

My account of the 2010 episode garnered many comments, some allegedly from parents.  We had some irate parents confront us, not caring that a dissident was addressing their sons.  We wonder now what they would say, knowing that a serial rapist of young men was in such close proximity to their sons.

Faithful Catholics! We Must Step Outside Our Comfort Zones!

Today's Vortex is a report of the escapades of Fr. Timothy Radcliffe, OP, former head of the Dominicans who has jumped the tracks, so to speak, to shill for acceptance of the mortal sin of homosexual behavior.

Radcliffe had just concluded a speaking tour in the Diocese of San Diego.  Voris features some reactions of faithful Catholics in that diocese, and their frustrations at having their pleas for correction ignored and rebuffed by the chancery.  Question!  Is there more that faithful Catholics can do in such situations?  Most likely, yes BUT it will mean that we must step outside our comfort zones and raise our voices that will cause the dissidents and their supporters to lose their comfort.  More after the video.



My first experience of this was in September 2012.  A Montgomery County parish was planning a commemoration of the 9-11-01 attacks.  One feature of their commemoration was to allow Connie Morella to address the congregation from the pulpit (although I don't think this would have been during Mass).  At the time she was a "katholyc" US Representative.  Some of us got wind of this a few days beforehand and made clear that a picket would happen if she spoke (I bought a bull-horn for that occasion).  They saw the light of day and canceled her talk.  On that occasion a picket wasn't necessary - not so other occasions.

We found ourselves picketing Catholic high school commencements when the convocation addresses were being given by flagrant pro-aborts.  I link now to the protest we did outside Gonzaga's 2010 commencement, when Sr Carol Keehan was the main attraction.  We've also shed light on other planned travesties, such as the Catholic Businessmen's Network planned hosting of Mark Shriver last month.  After a number of us protested, it was determined that Shriver "had a scheduling conflict".

My point is that we cannot allow these scandalous events to proceed without pricking their consciences.  We have to aim to make them uncomfortable in the conduct of these debacles.  Yes, many will hate and despise us (as you might have noticed in the comments on my Gonzaga post).  So what?  They want to conduct their squalid sorties in quiet, low-key fashions.  We cannot reward them by being "polite" as these talks, etc are conducted.  Ideally, when we protest first in writing, phone calls, etc, they'll see the light and cancel.  If not, we must go into action.  We must be willing to raise protests, taking to the streets when advantageous.  Leaflet cars and parking lots where dissidents are speaking.  Picket outside the events.  Go inside and ask probing questions.  Who among us will commit to that?  If not, complaints to the chanceries will be useless.

Surprise! Obamacare Will Extort Money From Catholics To Pay For Contraceptives!

Actually, the real surprise is that anyone is surprised about this!  Yes, the Messiah Most Miserable has made plain that all insurance plans must pay for contraceptives, sterilization and abortifacients.  That includes Catholic employers.  Here's the HHS statement.  And yes, pro-abortion "katholyc" Kathleen Sebelius is a chief messianic battle-ax with regards to this draconian pronouncement.  But don't worry!  Some churches etc will have an entire year to "figure out how to violate our consciences", as Cardinal-designate Timothy Dolan so aptly stated.  He issued a video response to the mandate that is posted on the USCCB site.  This dismal state of affairs may well be on the mind of the Holy Father; read his "ad limina" address to the bishops as he comments on the deteriorating state of affairs between the Church and the White House.

Of course the NARAL and Planned Parenthood types are just as giddy as they can be about this ruling, as it gives them greater leeway to pick our pockets while they engage in the slaughter of babies.  I suppose they can now justify the campaign donations that the Messiah Most Miserable will be asking of them.  It's so convenient that this ruling is coming so close to a presidential election - but maybe it's just a coincidence!

I understand that even Sister Carol Keehan, who was so instrumental in foisting this monstrosity upon us two years ago, takes a dim view of this HHS development.  She said that they are "a missed opportunity to be clear on appropriate conscience protection.  The challenge that these regulations posed for many groups remains unresolved.  This indicates the need for an effective national conversation on the appropriate conscience protections in our pluralistic country, which has always respected the role of religions."  Sister, with all due respect, there are some things you and your buddies need to hear, and I'll start with four little words: WE TOLD YOU SO! 

A little aside - when Sister Carol Keehan gave the address to the Gonzaga graduating class in June 2010, we protested that because she sold us all down the river with her support of the Obama Hell Bill.  We knew precisely what she wrought on our country and church and we voiced these problems mightily.  Some obviously took issue with us.  Well now the chickens are coming home to roost!  I regret the necessity of pointing out to you that our outrage against Sister's appearance at Gonzaga is now justified in spades!  I will also say, though, that it's nice to see some signs of her waking up and smellng the proverbial coffee.  Hopefully that's not "too little too late".  Sister, if you haven't done so, I'd suggest you return the Pen of Perfidy to the Messiah Most Miserable!

I now have some questions to ask of the bishops:

1. Will you now hold each others' feet to the fire regarding your solemn obligation to obey Canon 915?  Those among you who demure in obedience to this mandate (including our local bishop!) only give aid and comfort to those "katholyc" politicians who visit this mischief upon the Church.  In a word, will you finally deny the Eucharist to Kathleen Sebelius until she publicly repents?  This woman has much blood on her hands.
2. As the election season draws near, will you (at last) teach the Catholic voters that issues of life and intrinsic morality are of primary importance when selecting candidates for whom to vote?   Will you proclaim that anyone who supports abortion, euthanasia, gay agendas, abuse of embryonic children are utterly unworthy of the Catholic's vote -despite any favorable stances on lesser issues?
3. Will you dismantle or at least expel from the USCCB the "Catholic Campaign for Human Development"?  It has been shown, over and over again, that this organization, at its core and inception, is a cash-cow for individuals and organizations that work to foist the anti-life and anti-God agenda on this country.  Stop harboring this cobras' den.

Wielding The Pen Of Perfidy...

Sister Carol Keehan, according to this American Spectator article, is now busy in "damage control" mode.  Now that the Obama Hell Bill has been passed, thanks in no small part to Sister's influence on Bart Stupak and others (for which she was awarded one of the signing pens), she is busy trying to white-wash the mess she facilitated.  Note - she isn't trying to correct things, just sweep them under the rug so the truth doesn't hurt her progressive pals in the November elections (and let's make sure it does!).

In Scranton, PA, several Catholic hospitals have closed.  The CEO of one of them, Kevin Cook, when initially asked about the cause, said quite forthrightly that the Obama Hell bill was a factor.  That was his first statement.  It appears that Sister Carol got to him and he subsequently issued other, different statements.  I need not repeat the article - please read it.  I will point out that these hospital closings are just the first, and are only a harbinger of the unraveling of the US health care industry, unless we reverse the disaster of the Obama Hell Bill.  All you fans of Sister Carol Keehan (and I mean you, Gonzaga administrators!) bear this in mind when you and/or your loved ones find healthcare just a little harder to obtain!

Of course Sister Carol Keehan isn't buddy-buddy with only the Messiah Most Miserable.  She seems to be quite chummy with Cardinal McCarrick.  This woman, who should have been barred from Holy Communion under Canon 915, actually did one of the readings during the Cardinal's birthday celebration Mass.  Clergymen who cozy up to dissidents such as Sister Carol actually grease the skids as civilization careens into the pits of hell.

Gonzaga Commencement - 2009

I came across this video by accident.  This seems to indicate that Gonzaga has developed, or is developing, a pattern of putrifying its commencement exercises.  They are "performing" (using the term loosely) the song "Circle of Life" from the Lion King.  Whatever else one might think of that song, it has no place in a Catholic Church.  Yes, you "men for others".  St Aloysius Church is precisely that - a Catholic Church, where Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament deserves complete honor.  Here's the video (Click here if you can't see embedded videos).



I must say, however, that a repeat of the above performance would have been the "lesser of two evils" in comparison with Sister Carol Keehan's presence there.

Until she makes public amends, Sister Carol Keehan does not deserve a Catholic audience.  While we cannot condemn her, neither can we "give her a pass".  Her actions, regardless of motives, were treacherous and scandalous.

Join Us As We Protest Sr Carol Keehan At Gonzaga Sun June 6!

Last week I discovered that Sister Carol Keehan was slated to give the commencement address at Gonzaga's commencement this Sunday June 6th.  I posted about that; re-read it here.  Many of us (including readers) have contacted the leadership of Gonzaga to advise them that her presence in a Catholic school, being given honor, is most incongruous.  Since they have chosen not to listen, we will have no choice but to be in front of St Aloysius Gonzaga church to bear witness to the truth.

The church itself is on the west side of North Capital Street.  We'll gather there about noon to inform the folks arriving of the true nature of what they will witness.  I've got to imagine that this address will be given from the pulpit.  Remember - two months ago, she used her bully pulpit to help ram through the Obamacare Health Deform bill.

Will you be there to speak for the truth?

Graduation Speaker Outrage Scheduled at DC's Gonzaga High

Gonzaga College High School, located on North Capitol Street between H and K Streets NW in Washington DC, will hold its commencement ceremony on Sunday, June 6, at 1:00pm.  The graduation speaker is Sister Carol Keehan - the same woman who used her influence to support the Obama Hell Bill last March.

I've posted much on her treachery in this blog, along with actions taken by clergy and organizations that have been truly commendable.  For instance, I call to your memories a letter written to Sr Keehan by Bishop Tobin when he severed ties with the Catholic Health Assocation (of which she is president).

Two months ago, Sister Keehan was slated to speak at the John Carroll Society Annual Dinner.  When Sister's malfeasances were highlighted to the dinner planners, it was announced that Sister "couldn't make it".
