Marylanders! We Need To Defeat SB 212!

Maryland Senate Bill 212, the so-called "Fairness for All Marylanders Act of 2014", is nothing more than a bill to advance the gay and transgender life styles.  In uber-liberal Montgomery County, a similar measure passed (but not without valiant opposition).  The rest of the state doesn't reek quite as badly of progressivism so there might be hope of killing this thing.

It is now before the Judicial Proceedings Committee.  I understand that they were slated to vote on it tomorrow; I don't know if the weather will cause postponement of that vote.  Please call each and every person on that committee and tell them to oppose it.  Let's kill it before it goes to the floor.

Maryland Faces Yet Another Transgender Battle

You may have heard of some of the upset in Massachusetts as parents of public school children learned that their children could be disciplined for not affirming transgenderism.  That means that girls would have no recourse if a boy "identifying as female" wanted to use the girls' rest rooms.

Now this shadow is appearing in Annapolis once again.  Maryland Senate Bill 449, misnamed as "Fairness for All Marylanders Act", defines "gender identity" as "appearance, expression or behavior of an individual regardless of the individual's assigned sex at birth".  "Public accommodation" would of course include public schools, paving way for incidents in our own Maryland public schools.

This bill has been assigned to the Judicial Proceedings Committee.  Please contact them and ask them to defeat it in committee.

Maryland Gov O'Malley And Allies Begin Same-Sex Marriage Onslaught

A few days ago, Gov O'Malley introduced Senate Bill 241 "Civil Marriage Protection Act", designed to legalize so-called "gay marriage" in Maryland.  Hearings will begin in the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee this Tuesday, January 31st.

The Maryland Marriage Alliance is sponsoring a rally to be held Monday evening, Jan 30, from 6-8pm in Annapolis.  More details are on their flyer, which can be printed and circulated.  Please come.

Last year we helped stave off this marriage mutation attempt by our many phone calls, faxes and emails.  It's time to mobilize ourselves and friends to action once again.  Please contact the members of the Judicial Proceedings Committee and ask them to kill this terrible bill.  Here is a list of the committee members and it links to the pages of the members for their contact information.  Please - let's start on this immediately and encourage everyone you know to spread the word and do the same.

An important note - Governor O'Malley appears to be a main driving force behind this marriage deformation attempt.  He calls himself "Catholic".  Let us point out to our bishops that he is a prime example of why they should be obeying Canon 915.

Addendum:  Here's another good source for info on this issue and other Maryland matters - Maryland Patriots.  Here's their page on the marriage matter.  Check this page from time to time.

Need To Double Down On HB 235

This past Friday, HB 235, the so-called "Gender Identity Anti-Discrimination Act", passed the MD House of Representatives.   It has now moved to the MD Senate.  We need to stop it there.

The particular senate committee is the Judicial Proceedings Committee.  I for one do not advocate lobbying the entire Senate at this time.  Rather, let's focus attention and effort on the members of this committee.  Let's keep this from coming to the senate floor.
