How Social Justice Became Perverted In US Chanceries

In today's Vortex, Michael Voris gives a bit of history behind the mess that is commonly known as "social justice" in chancery offices across the country.  He also explains how this led to so many Catholics being hoodwinked by the "Catholic" Campaign for Human Development and why progressives are lashing out at the work that faithful Catholics are doing to expose the chicanery of the CCHD.  He mentioned that Church Militant TV is a "proud member of the Reform CCHD Now Coalition"; so is this blog.

I do have one minor difference with Voris.  At 1:02 he mentions that both secular society and the Church started to turn liberal/progressive in the 1960s.  I hold that process began way before then, and only became manifest during the 1960s.

Guess what?  The CCHD has announced that it will be giving away over $91 million in grants.  However, it left out one teensy little detail in that announcement: the grant recipients and how much each will receive!  So much for Catholic donors knowing the usage of their money!  For the CCHD, that's simply par for the course - all the more reason not to give them one penny of your hard-earned money.

Monkey Business As Usual At CCHD

"Comprehensive Immigration
Reform"!
Today the Catholic Campaign for Human Development announced that it will grant $800,000 to "mobilize for comprehensive immigration reform".  The announcement was made by none other than Bishop Jaime Soto, chair of the bishops' CCHD subcommittee; I've written before regarding his (mis)statements.

As you read down the USCCB press release you'll notice that the Alinskyian PICO, a major supporter of the anti-life Obamacare bill, will receive a huge chunk of these latest grants.  I said "latest grants" because this expenditure brings the total immigration-related grants to $3,500,000!  Yep!  $3.5 million!

Read the report uploaded by the Reform CCHD Now Coalition.  In it you'll find more egregious wastes of your donation dollars.  The damage done is more than just mere waste.  The CCHD is knowingly and willingly misappropriating your donation dollars to organizations working to undermine the Church and the salvation of souls.  Don't donate one more penny to them.

Let me also say this to my colleagues.  Let's cease calling for the reform of the CCHD, for it is rotten to its core and foundation.  Rather, let's call for the abolition of the CCHD.

CCHD = Clueless Catholics in Hard Denial

Well, maybe the denizens that skulk through the halls of the USCCB aren't all that clueless, but they're hoping that the majority of Catholics in the pews are.  After years of our complaints and bringing evidence of corruption before them and the Catholic populace, the collection dollars for the CCHD are starting to dry up a bit.

So what do the CCHD folks do?  They play "shoot the messenger".  The Reform CCHD Now Coalition released a well-documented report on the CCHD's 2011-2012 grant recipients.  The national CCHD office sent a memo to its field offices deriding and dismissing the work done by the Coalition and American Life League.  As you read it, you will notice that they offer no specific errors or rebuttals.  Why not?  Most likely because they cannot!  Perhaps they think that if they huff and puff enough, they'll be believed.

The CCHD is Alinskyian in its roots.  With that in mind, what else can you expect from them?  Again, please do not feed this onerous beast at the collection basket.

Special Vortex On Latest CCHD Scandals

In this special report, Michael Voris interviews Michael Hichborn and Rob Gaspar of American Life League.  The latter two have discovered that the scandals of CCHD grants have actually increased this year - something quite different from the party line that has been fed to us.  The report itself is over 2000 pages long; links to it can be found at the ReformCCHDNow site.  On the bright side, this report is a few hundred pages shorter than the Obamacare legislation, but I digress!

As you watch this report and look at the material yourselves, realize that all this played a large part in Obama's victory last week.  If you have donated to the CCHD in recent years, you have inadvertently donated to organizations that favor abortion, gay rights, socialism - all positions assumed by the Obama progressive cartel.  We might safely assume that some of your donations have been diverted into Democratic coffers.  Toward the end of the clip, Hichborn makes a salient point: we will not win the culture war if we have elements in the Church that are funneling resources to nefarious groups.

Click here if you cannot see embedded video.  And of course, do NOT contribute to any collection for the CCHD.

ReformCCHDNow Rebukes EmpowerDC

I've written a bit on EmpowerDC, the left-wing "community organizing" bunch that seems to have an overly cozy relationship with St Augustine Church in DC.  ReformCCHD now, a coalition of organizations that are faithful to authentic Catholic teachings (including us) are demanding that EmpowerDC return the $50k grant it received from the CCHD.  RCN has issued a press release to that effect, to which we agree.  We'd only add that St Augustine Church must hand to EmpowerDC its eviction notice immediately.

In the meantime, please boycott all upcoming CCHD collections.

Gamaliel Foundation Still Receiving CCHD Funds

And this after it was caught giving a falsified letter to the CCHD regarding its relationship with the Fair Immigration Reform Movement.  The latter organization promotes gay fake-marriage.  I urge you to read the article released today by Red State regarding the subterfuge unearthed by the Reform CCHD Now Coalition and Societas Restituo Catholicam.

The article contains an embedded youtube of a Gamaliel Foundation rally in which their cry "Hear Our Cry, Obama" sounds oddly like a prayer of petition.  Are they ascribing to him the status of deity?  It sure seems like it!  Click here if you cannot see that embedded video.

The overly nonchalant attitude of the CCHD towards this situation is inexcusable.  For those of you in dioceses where the CCHD collection will soon occur, please boycott it.

ALL Releases Report On 2011-2012 CCHD Grant Recipients

On Saturday October 13, Michael Hichborn of American Life League was a guest on blog-talk radio.  During that interview he announced the upcoming release of ALL's latest report on the CCHD grantees.  He highlighted some of the more blatant violations of CCHD guidelines by several grantees.  You can listen to the program here.

American Life League has just published its latest report on the CCHD grantees on the Reform CCHD Now site.  On that main page you'll notice bar graphs to the right.  Note that during these past few years the total number of grantees has been decreasing.  Conversely though, note that the number of grantees in violation of CCHD guidelines has been increasing.

On the main page, click on the "Reports on Grantees" tab.  You'll see an introduction, the main report itself and a moral theologian's review of the report.  The theologian is Dr. William Marshner of Christendom College.  The main report lists the problematic grantees; the names are hyperlinked to take you to the appropriate detail.

A rather troubling DC-are grantee is Empower DC.  Hichborn talked a bit of this one on the radio program. As you look at the "problem" section at the top of the page, please note that EmpowerDC itself took these anti-life positions; they weren't merely partners with other organizations that did so (although that itself would have been problematic to say the least).  In his theologian's report, Dr Marshner stated that the act of granting funds to EmpowerDC placed CCHD - and thus the Church itself - in a position of formally cooperating with grave moral evil.  But there's more!

On July 17th I did a blog piece on EmpowerDC and its utter unworthiness of receiving CCHD funds and found even more unsavory alliances.  I was surprised by what I discovered in doing my research: that EmpowerDC and St Augustine Catholic Church in DC use the same street address.  If you listen closely to the radio program, you'll hear that Hichborn wasn't aware of that unsavory fact.  Now consider - without the knowledge of the shared address, Dr. Marshner concluded that the donation of money to EmpowerDC placed the Church in formal cooperation with grave moral evil.  Now we know that not only did the Church contribute $50k to this anti-life bunch, but they lent use of a Church address to the same.  Might they also have lent office space, staff etc to them?  What that means, ladies and gentlemen, is that the degree of formal cooperation is even more profound than originally realized.

Within the next day or two I will be posting more on this.  Of course I reiterate my clarion call to abolish the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.  All November collections to CCHD should be boycotted.

Progressives Pout Over CCHD Funding Cessations

My friend and colleague Stephanie Block has posted an excellent article at Spero Forum picking apart the utter lack of logic displayed by US Catholic's editor Bryan Cones in his screed against American Life League, Reform CCHD Now (of which we're a proud member) and the rest of us "right-wing pressure groups".

I need not rehash Ms Block's work here; please go and read for yourselves.  I will, however, elaborate on two points.  I quote from her article..
  • My favorite bit in the Cones’ article, however, is his canard that “these witch hunts” – complaints about CCHD misappropriations of Catholic money to groups that support un-Catholic positions – are all about…sex!  Who would have imagined!  “More and more it appears that Catholics in general are so obsessed with issues of sexuality that we can't even feed the poor or shelter immigrants anymore.  This crack has been thrown at pro-lifers for decades and says a great deal about the speaker (or writer).  Abortion, of course, isn’t an “issue of sexuality” – it’s an issue of personhood and civil rights.  Same-sex marriage isn’t an “issue of sexuality,” either – it’s an issue of covenantal partnership for ends that can’t be achieved in same-sex relationships.  To reduce these issues to “sexuality” betrays that not only does the writer not understand Catholic teaching but that he is himself trapped in a Freudian construct that understands everything in sexual terms. What Peter says about Paul says more about Peter than it does about Paul.
So what is being said about "Peter" - that is, Bryan Cones?  Here's a brief biographical sketch about Cones.  So he was a high school teacher.  Even as a high school teacher he was doing quite a bit of writing.  For instance, he wrote one of several brief chapters in a book entitled "Young and Catholic in America".  I believe it's the tenth.  Here's the link, detailing a conversation he had with some students.  Read the whole thing.  He admits to being gay himself and does not accept the Church's teaching that the homosexual inclination is intrinsically disordered.  What I find particularly disturbing (although not too surprising) is the approving attitudes he meets along the way: from his bishop, pastors, etc.  At the time Cones was talking to his bishop, he did not receive from his bishop the shepherding that he needed; in other words, Cones was done a gross disservice by his bishops and later mentors.  However, Cones is not without fault here.  He knew the Church's teaching enough to dissent from it willingly.  And this, dear readers, is the history and the mental paradigm of an editor of US Catholic magazine.  Does this not explain some of the tenor behind US Catholic - when one of its leaders is living at serious variance with the Church?

Now let's look at "guilt by association".  I think we've illustrated what triggers the knee-jerk usage by Comes of that phrase.  He thinks gay unions are just fine and dandy. However, when a group like American Life League come along and point out the simple truth that homosexual relations are mortally sinful then the defense mechanism spring into action and the "guilt by association" phrases start flying.  No, Mr Comes, it's just your guilt - so why not do yourself (and your partner) a favor, break off the sinful relationship and go to Confession?  Speaking of charity and mercy, let's recognize what the Spiritual Works of Mercy (such as "admonish the sinner") are.

We find the phrase "guilt by association" in another article similar to Cones' in viewpoint and tenor.  The author writes that "Companeros decided against severing ties with CIRC, deciding that its membership in the organization was more important than giving in to CCHD's demands."  OK, that's fine.  They made a decision.  Implicit in all this whining and kvetching is a presumption that Companeros is entitled to the largess of Catholic donations without stipulation.  Not so.  The Church has not only the right but the duty to ensure that its monies are used in accordance with Church teaching.

The article goes on to announce a new website called "withcharityforall", ostensibly to compensate for Companeros' very avoidable budget shortfall.  I freely acknowledge their right to collect these monies, provided that they are very honest with their donors as to the exact planned usage of the funds (something that CCHD has yet to learn).  At least it won't be Church money.

The site was founded by Catholics United.  As mentioned before on this blog, on that organization's board of directors is James Salt.  Read about his history here.  If there is any true "guilt by association", James Salt bears it in spades.  His resume includes "overseeing the Kansas Democratic Party's faith outreach efforts including messaging work for Governor Sebelius.."  Yep!  He helped further the career of Kathleen Sebelius, which landed her in her current position as Secretary of HHS.  Of course she used that position to foment the onerous mandate which hangs over all our heads.

Now they screech that the Catholic-donation gravy train is pulling into the station.  This train stop is long overdue.

Catholic Media Coalition: Boycott The CCHD Collection

The Catholic Media Coalition (of which this blog is a member organization) has released the following statement regarding this year's CCHD collection:

CATHOLIC MEDIA COALITION ENDORSES BOYCOTT OF ANNUAL CCHD COLLECTION

For years the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) has awarded grants to organizations that work against Catholic teaching, particularly with regard to human life and marriage. Not only have donations from generous Catholics in the pew gone to groups that organize and lobby against Church teaching, but they have indirectly, and even directly, helped to elect liberal politicians who advance evil causes.

In view of the recent devastating report from American Life League and ReformCCHDNow which indicates that the problems continue and have even worsened, the Catholic Media Coaltion endorses a boycott of the annual CCHD collection and urges Catholics to give instead to local organizations that serve the poor. Crisis pregnancy centers, Catholic free clinics and food pantries, Catholic shelters and homes for unwed mothers, organizations that serve the third world through clean water and immunization projects are all worthy alternatives to CCHD.

Despite their assurances to the contrary CCHD continues to funnel a large percentage of donations into community organizing groups and coalitions that are hostile to the faith and undermine the family. That is, certainly, no way to help the poor.

Faithful Catholics of MD/DC, Inc adds its "amen" to that statement.

Update: the CIA episode to which I linked in yesterday's post is now in youtube format, so here it is.  Again, it's a long one, but only because it contains much worthwhile information.  Click here if you cannot see embedded video.

ALL's CCHD Report - Reviewed By A Moral Theologian

As noted in previous posts, American Life League's expose of current/recent CCHD grantees ruffled the feathers of national CCHD officials.  They tried to rebut it.  Howver, they flopped in that attempt simply  because truth is impossible to refute.

To help answer any lingering questions about the timeline of events, you may review a FAQ list on the Reform CCHD Now site.  Linked to that site is a review written by Dr. William Marshner, a professor of moral theology at Christendom College.  I urge you to read that as well.

CCHD's Pathetic Excuse For Vetting

Remember how the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, in the afterthroes of the ACORN scandal, promised us that all was hunky-dorry with its "vetting process"?  Well, you'll be shocked (just SHOCKED, I tell you!) to learn that this wonderful vetting process isn't as wonderful as it was cracked up to be !  Surprise, suprise, suprise!!

Lifesite News has details of the NYC AIDS Housing Network, a current CCHD grantee, and its flagrant violation of CCHD guidelines.  In its distribution of condoms, it violates Catholic teaching regarding contraception.  NYC AIDS Housing Network allegedly lied to the CCHD when applying for their grant.

The USCCB wrote about this group on their Facebook page, "During the time it was funded by CCHD, the organization went through the same rigorous vetting process that included the support of the bishop. If at any point the the dioceses or CCHD had found evidence that the organization was in any way involved with condom distribution, the grant would have been immediately canceled. There was no evidence of this."  However, the group was listed as a condom distributer on a governmental website.  How is it that this "rigorous vetting process" failed to determine that?  Additionally, private investigators phoned the group and were told that they indeed distribute condoms.  I suspect that these investigators did not expend much effort to learn that information; could not the CCHD vetting crew have at least done as much due diligence?

Moreover, on September 22nd, Michael Hichborn of American Life League met with senior CCHD officials to discuss these findings with them.  At the time, they remained adamant in dismissing Hichborn's findings, preferring to rely only on their perfunctory phone call to the NYC AIDS.  One can reasonably assume that such was the "rigorous vetting" to which they subjected all their grant applicants - so much for their due diligence with the hard-earned money donated to them by the Catholics in the pews.

Let's take a look now at the CCHD Grant Agreement.  On that pdf, please go to page 5.  Of interest is Section G-2.  It says, "In the event of termination of this CCHD grant, USCCB shall provide Grantee written notice of such termination and of the cancellation of any portions of the grant that remain to be paid. USCCB may, in its discretion, require Grantee to  refund to USCCB the full amount of the CCHD grant and to transfer title to USCCB of any property purchased by the Grantee with CCHD grant funds."   Will the CCHD leaders have the decency to demand return of the money?  I think not, but not because they lack courage.  I think in many ways they are of like mind with the leaders of NYC AIDS and all the progressives who strive to undermine our Christian moral underpinnings.

Please boycott the CCHD and let's help bring this monster down.

Conclusion Of Ms Block's Series On The CCHD

Here it is.  Very soon we anticipate that this latest anthology of writings on the CCHD will be added to the Catholic Media Coalition's already-sizable dossier on the CCHD.

More Insights And Information Regarding The CCHD

As I promised on Monday, I am forwarding to you additional articles on the CCHD (Catholics Contributing to Hell's Demons).  Here are some just recently published.

My friend Stephanie Block has released the second part in her four-part series.  Here it is.  Also read a blog from a Dallas area Catholic who writes "Reformed" CCHD worse than ever.   Read the fourth comment below that.  If that is correct (and it just might well be), what we have is good old-fashioned Chicago-style shakedowns in the time-honored tradition of Al Capone himself.  Why not?  The nightmare known as CCHD was spawned in Chicago, after all.

Oh, by the way.  The CCHD Fan Club is springing to the defense of this Alinskyan cash cow.  We have US Catholic whining "here we go again".  The article is quite laughable.  It assures us that CCHD is on the up and up because the diocesan CCHD directors monitor it; in other words, the hens are safe because the fox is guarding them.  Now here's a real bone-headed statement.  I quote "the Reform CCHD Now folks have never personally gone to CCHD staff with their concerns."  Au contraire!  They sent their report to each and every bishop well in advance of release.   None of this was news, anyway, for we have been raising these concerns for years now.  Then the author has the nerve to try to apply Matthew 18 and to say that the authors failed to obey it.  That would only strictly apply if the sin in question was personal - but many, many people have been wronged, and thus it must be addressed publicly.  The author mocks what he calls "guilt by association".  Gee - I wonder if he'd be so nonchalant about "guilt by association" if the association was with the Ku Klux Klan.

There is no reason why we need to associate with questionable organizations to assist the poor.  There are plenty of decent charitable organizations that do not in any way taint themselve with others that advocate murder of babies.

On Facebook was posted the video below.  Watch to the end, particularly for Goal 27 (you'll understand when you see it).  Click here if you cannot see embedded video.

"Reform OF CCHD" - Smoke And Mirrors

You may recall that after the CCHD was embarrased by the publicity garnered by the ACORN scandals of last year.  ACORN, a major community-organizing conglomerate, made national news with its various corrupt activites including (but not necessarily limited to):
  • Voter registration fraud
  • Misappropriation of funds by high-ranking officials (most notably the Ratke brothers)
  • Video stings showing ACORN giving advice on how to exploit underage girls for sex-trafficing to undercover reporters masquerading as pimps (This occurred in Baltimore!)
In the past, ACORN was a major recipient of CCHD funds.  Over the years, faithful Catholics have been warning the denizens of the CCHD, and the USCCB, of the corruption within the very foundation of ACORN.  Our warnings fell on deaf ears.  Thus, the humiliation of last year was long in coming - and totally avoidable.  The USCCB promised us that reforms have been undertaken, and now all is hunky-dorry with the CCHD.  Or is it?  The evidence points to the contrary.

Today the American Life League released a report of its review of the 2010-2011 CCHD grantees.  It is posted on the site www.reformcchdnow.com.  It is downloadable, as is the CCHD's list of grantees.  Take a look to see how the CCHD still funnels large sums of dollars donated by Catholic in the pew to organizations that work against the Church, against unborn children and that tear at the fabric of civilization itself.

For now, I'll direct your attention to pages 65-70 of that report, for it gives details on the anti-life leanings of a Maryland CCHD grant recipient, the United Workers' Association.  You'll see on that site how they've aligned themselves with Progressive Maryland and Equality Maryland.  On Speroforum is an expose on two other Maryland-based recipients of Catholic donation dollars.  Also on Speroforum, my colleague fron the Catholic Media Coalition, Stephanie Block has commenced a multi-part series that also examines recent grantees of CCHD funds.  Part 1 went online last weekend.

I will go out on a limb and say that there was no real intention on cleaning up the CCHD.  Ladies and gentlemen, it was founded with the intent of diverting the donations of unsuspecting and unquestioning Catholics towards "community organizing" outfits that are at emnity with the Church.  The empty promises of the USCCB to "reform the CCHD" was nothing more than a "CYA" strategem to once again lull Catholics into a false sense of well-being.  It's not working this time.  As more material is published online, I will be directing your attention to these.  We must all be informed.

For the Archdiocese of Washington, the CCHD collection has already occurred.  The collection for the Archdiocese of Baltimore is still in November.  I call upon all in the Archdiocese of Baltimore to boycott the CCHD collection this NovemberPlease redirect your donations to a truly Catholic and/or pro-life charity that will utilize your donations to the real benefit of people and the Church.

I now repost below an hour-long Vortex presentation on the CCHD, including its shady origins.  It's well worth the time spent in watching it.  Click here if you cannot see embedded video.

CCHD Continues To Fund Radical Groups, Protestations Notwithstanding

On September 15th, the USCCB released a statement outlining the reputed "review and renewal" of the CCHD, given the glaring light of truth that we and many others shone on it to expose its harmful grantee practices.  You can read it here.  On page 2, it showcases some of what they would have us believe are worthy recipients of Catholic dollars.  The first one listed is called the Coaltion of Immokalee Workers.

The Reform CCHD Now Coalition (of which we are members) issued a press release today revealing the radical pro-abortion and pro-gay ties that this CIW group has.  The RCN coalition developed a report that goes into extensive detail about the matter.

When their very first showcased donee is exposed as a snake in the grass, we have reason to believe that the CCHD is either:
  • not being completely honest with the Church at large regarding their intentions for donation dollars, or
  • hopelessly naive in believing the words of malevolent grant applicants
Given the unarguably jaded history of its foundation, I regretably hold to the first option.  I urge a complete boycott of the November 21st collection.  Moreover, I now call for the complete abolition of the CCHD.

Problems Still Abound At CCHD

Deal Hudson released an excellent article detailing some current problems with the CCHD.  He mentions a progressive gab-fest where a number of former and current CCHD participated in forums.  He also pointed out that in previous years, the CCHD released the names of the grantees by late August, but this year they are waiting another month.  He looks askance upon such delay.  So do I.

I am recommending that we once again boycot the CCHD collection plate when it's passed down the pew this coming November.  I do not recommend a boycott, however, for the Archdiocese of Chicago, owing to some very significant improvements in their grantee awards (about which I wrote earlier).

Real Reform At Chicago CCHD!

Lifesite News reports that the Chicago office of the CCHD has undertaken significant reform since a new director, Ray Flores, took the helm a year ago.  He has moved to defund several recipient groups that espoused philosophies at variance with Church teaching in life/morality matters.

Local pregnancy centers have so far benefitted significantly.  One of them was able, as a result of monies received from CCHD, to upgrade to a 4D sonogram.  Hitherto, CCHD policy prohibited donations to pro-life groups (I believe that is still the case on the CCHD national level).  Chicago CCHD is now able to retain 50% of donations from the local parishes, as opposed to the 25% retention allowance for the rest of the nation.

Please read this entire Lifesite News report.  This is extremely significant, as the Chicago CCHD collection is the largest in the nation, and CCHD started in Chicago in 1959.

The question of the day is, "Will the national CCHD follow Chicago's lead and start to adhere to Catholic social teaching?"  At present, it doesn't.  Thus, at this time I must suggest another nationwide boycott of the CCHD collection, with the obvious exception for the Chicago area.

CCHD Still Giving to Pro-Abortion Groups

Reform CCHD Now, a coalition of Catholic pro-life groups, recently sent a report to the nations's bishops and the heads of diocesan pro-life offices stating that problems with CCHD grantees still abound.  We read on Lifenews that approximately 50 pro-abortion groups received CCHD grants; that is, they received donations from unsuspecting Catholics in the pews.

The bishops will be meeting from June 11-13th.  Among things to be discussed is the CCHD and the various problems that have come to light.  More information can be found at the Reform CCHD Now website.  A full copy of the report is also available for reading and/or download.

To add your voice to ours that call for reform of the CCHD, please be sure to sign the petition, in the box on the right sidebar.

CCHD Profanes Stations of the Cross - Then Tries to Hide Their Malfeasance

The lines in green were writen last night as I started this post.

The "lenten carbon fast" was bad enough.  Now we have the CCHD turning the Stations of the Cross into props to push the agendas of their left-wing anti-life allies  http://www.usccb.org/lent/CCHD-Groups-WayoftheCrossStationsTextBooklet.pdf

Well, a lot happened between then and now.  The Reform CCHD Now Coaltion did their own analysis.  Oddly enough, (ahem!) just a short while later, the above link to the perverted "stations" became defunct!  Well!  Whatever could have happened?  I think we all know the answer to that now, don't we?

I had opened the page last night and left it open.  After receiving "discomike's" comment below, I saved that pdf to my computer, so that I could make it available to you right here!  Save it to your own computer if you wish, but this one ain't goin' nowhere

Now let's get down to business!  These "stations", rather than contemplating Our Lord's Passion and Death, celebrate various left-wing and/or anti-life cabals.  For the second excuse of a station, CCHD lauds the Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition.  They do partner and support abortion-rights activists.  For instance, the OVEC website links to this website, which makes quite an admission.  We read, "The moral arguments about abortion rarely consider the physical limits of the planet, but if they did, and if abortion were put into the context of the long history of human attempts to avoid starvation by regulating population growth, we might come to a different conclusion about what "pro-life" really means."  Read the whole thing.  The pro-abort folks know that their arguments for baby-murder are ringing hollow, and this frosts them!  By the way - look at the OVEC logo.  Doesn't the outline resemble an - acorn?

The third thing celebrates Baltimore's United Workers' Association.  They have allied themselves with Healthcare Now of MD, that is actively pulling for the Obama Hell bill, abortion and all.  By the way - if you want a look at who the left-wing major players are in Maryland, check out the website of "Progressive Maryland".

Station 5 tells us about Metropolitan Organizing Strategy Enabling Strength (MOSES).  Their website reveals yet another proponent of the Obama Hell bill.  They are Gamaliel affiliates.  Station 6 ballyhoos about the Pima County Interfaith Council: who happen to be affiliates of the Industrial Areas Foundation.

I will now refer you to the analysis of Pewsitter and Reform CCHD Now.  Once again, the CCHD demonstrates that it does not deserve one red penny from any Catholic.

We Have The Right Kind of Enemies

That's what we of the Catholic Media Coalition seem to have acquired, as a result of spreading the facts regarding the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the sorry state of their affairs (pro-abortion alliances, funds going to all manners of dubious recipients, heavy influx of tax dollars, etc).  Catholics United, another cabal of left-wing Catholics, has started an online petition in defense of the CCHD and as a backlash against both the Reform CCHD Now Coalition and the Catholic Media Coalition.  As this blog is a member of the latter, I say to the Catholics United bunch, "Thank you for that honor!"  For indeed, being attacked by folks like that is truly an honor.

If you want some chuckles, do read that petiton.  It starts out by saying, "I am proud of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.."  It reminds me of some of the pro-death clinic escorts with which I deal every week.  Every now and then I'll show them pictures of their fine "work" and ask them if they're proud.  Some actually say that they are proud as they look at the poor broken little bodies.  In many ways, though, the CCHD is responsible for turning those little babies into tiny corpses because of their partnerships with ACORN, PICO and other pro-abortion outfits.  And Catholics United is proud of that?  More on Catholics United later.   Now see proof positive that ACORN and Obama are intimate pals.

Now let's look at Catholics United in general.  Clicking on that link, we can now tour its website.  As we scroll down, we see that they are behind the Obama Hell Care Bill that would bring about euthanasia-pushing death panels as well as ensconce abortion in our social structure - to say nothing of socializing and rationing medicine and assuming divine prerogatives over our health.

The next article down from that is where we see them scold some bishops who had the audacity to question the masterpiece of the Messiah Most Miserable.  They even had the gall to accuse them of distorting "the essential role government has in serving the common good."  I suppose they never heard of the principle of subsidiarity.  Some of the signers of this screed are: Fr Charles Curran, whom Pope John Paul II had dismissed from Catholic University for teaching aberrant theology, Fr. Thomas Reese, whom Pope Benedict XVI fired from his position at America and Doug Kmiec, ex-prolifer turncoat.  Great bunch of fellows!  Such credibility!

The next article down is a call to American Life League to suspend its "Bury Obamacare with Kennedy" campaign.  Speaking of Kennedy, they also mourn the "loss of Kennedy's passing."  While we certainly pray God's mercy upon his soul, we certainly lament the great harm done by Kennedy in his relentless pursuit of liberalized abortion.
