During the Republican National Convention this past week, we heard an outstanding address from Sr Deirdre Byrne. Please listen to this outspoken pro-life sister in full habit speak of fidelity to God and to Chrisitan morality. True, she did refer to Our Lady as an "unwed mother". However, when was the last time someone held up a Rosary and proclaimed it as "our weapon"?
In contrast, dissident nun Sr Simone Campbell "prayed" at the Democratic National Convention. I put "prayed" in quotes for I'm not quite sure to whom or what she prayed. She's on record as saying that the banning of abortion is "not good policy". She also said that the abortion matter is "above her pay grade". Above her pay grade! When did we hear that before, regarding abortion? Oh, yes! From the Messiah Most Miserable himself. Remember this? She doesn't like wearing habits. Come to think of it, that might be a good thing; at least she won't disgrace it when she makes it apparent that baby-slaughter is just okee-dokee with her.
This past Monday, Joe Biden, Vice President of the United States and dissident Catholic, "officiated" at the #mowwidge of two White House staff members, both of them males. I hesitate to call them "men" for real men understand and obey the laws of nature and nature's God. Canon lawyer Ed Peters has some reflections as to whether or not he incurred excommunication by making a mockery of true marriage. One key point that he makes is that if the Pope or Cardinal Wuerl were to issue canonical legislation making what Biden did a canonical crime, then yes Biden could be excommunicated.
Earlier, at the DNC convention, the president of NARAL gave an account of her own abortion in order to gin up support for more baby murder. Sister Simone Campbell, a "nuns on the bus" leader, applauded this talk. Campbell has made no secret of her support of abortion.
Then we have some outright heresy from Father James Martin, S.J. Currently he is editor-at-large for America magazine, the dissident rag published by the Jesuits. During the past few days, Martin let loose with these tweets.
For him to state that Jesus could be "challenged" by the Canaanite woman is to allege that Jesus had intellectual and moral imperfections. That is a pure slap in the face to the Divine Personhood of Jesus. Yes, He has two natures but as a Person He is Divine, with all that it entails. However, while Martin undoubtedly pronounced heresy, he's not the first Jesuit of recent memory to do so. Last December, the pope opined that Jesus probably had to beg forgiveness from His parents. Again, to ascribe sinfulness to God Himself is heresy and probably blasphemous as well.
So I've now pointed out three insults to the Faith, all occurring in a week. The timing isn't all that these three incidents have in common. Here's another thing that I think they'll have in common. Those responsible for these heresies will most likely suffer no consequences for their misbehaviors. Their superiors will look the other way and pretend that these didn't occur.
Sister Simone "abortion is above my pay-grade" Campbell will meet with the Messiah Most Miserable. Also invited to the schmooze event is the president of the Human Rights Campaign, the president of AARP and Al Sharpton. This is part of Obama's efforts to convince people of faith that his mandate and tax-hike schemes are okee-dokee. I cannot say that Obama is trying to sell them on his budget for that budget doesn't exist (that's another story in and of itself).
The voters of the USA squandered their opportunity to relieve Obama of the title "president". However, that shouldn't stop the proper church authorities of relieving Campbell of her "sister" title.
Yesterday, Sister Simone Campbell of "nuns on the bus" infamy addressed the Democratic National Convention. Being the faithful religious that she is, she immediately upbraided them for their support of baby-murder and their recent attempt to remove God from their party platform. Ladies and gentlemen, mea culpa - that last sentence was a joke (would that it were true)! But she did speak and in doing so, made a mockery of her religious profession. She immediately took aim at the budget that Paul Ryan proposed, saying that the USCCB "failed a basic moral test". Sister, the USCCB does not bear any inherent authority to pronounce didly-squat. Moreover, Cardinal Dolan is not nearly as eager to condemn the Ryan budget as is Sister. He seems to acknowledge that there is room for disagreement on prudential matters and respected Ryan's desire to assist all by reining in our runaway deficit. She then says at 1:31 "we agree with our bishops". At 5:00 she remarks that opposing the Ryan budget is "part of my pro-life stance". At 6:19 she reiterates her opinion that the Ryan budget is "immoral".
So she's dead-certain that the Ryan budget is "immoral". But her conviction and certainty about the right to life of innocent babies. But earlier yesterday in an interview when John McCormack asked her "should it be illegal to perform abortions", she took a cue right from the Messiah Most Miserable himself. Her answer? "That's beyond my pay grade. I don't know."
To sum up Sister Simone's positions:
Ryan budget - "immoral" "horrifying"
Baby murder - "I don't know"
Guess what? With regards to legality of abortion, she cannot boast "agreement with our bishops".
Yes, apparently even they realized that their snub of Cardinal Dolan would not win them any real Catholic votes (as opposed to votes of faux-katholycs along the lines of Pelosi, Biden, etc) so Cardinal Dolan will give the closing benediction.
Naturally they feel they have to remind one and all of the sort of "katholyc" faith they admire, so Sister Simone Campbell will also be addressing the Dems that evening. We hope and pray that His Eminence will pray for true Christian principles to once again guide the Democrats and that their platform undergo much needed reform (if not actual exorcism).
In several posts regarding the "Nuns On The Bus" schlep in the luxury bus, I asked who was funding the whole excursion. That gas-guzzling luxury bus cost quite a bit of money - more than the normal religious could ever afford.
I had my suspicions as to who/what was the sugar-daddy behind it - suspicions that I'm sure were shared by many. Father Zuhlsdorf"s blog just confirmed it. The far-reaching and much-money tentacles of George Soros were behind it.

He focuses on one statement of Roberts: "It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices." Be Roberts' other statements ever so erroneous, this one isn't! We need to look no further than the Catholic vote, and inane prattlings from "katholyc" persons and entities for prime examples of sheer stupidity.
Let's take a look at the statement that the USCCB issued on June 28th as a commentary to the Supreme Court ruling; it's posted on their website. As you read it, take note of the fact that they don't oppose the individual mandate in principle. In the second paragraph we read that "USCCB..took no position on the specific questions posed to the court". They do oppose the coercion of religious employers to fund sterilization, contraceptives and abortifacients. The "million dollar question" I have for the USCCB is this: How on earth can you claim mandate exemptions for religious organizations (including yourselves) yet look with approval upon the forcing of other people to purchase any commodity which they may not desire to have (for whatever reason)?Dear USCCB, your stance reeks of sheer hypocrisy!!
Sister Simone Campbell, who is leading the Nuts Nuns On The Luxury Bus schmooze tour, issued an opinion that was published on a Washington Post blog. After all the contortions that she puts forth, she opines of Obamacare that "this law is pro-life". Amazing, but you read it yourself! Of course she'll never meet the babies that will be killed by the abortifacients that Obamacare will coerce the public to fund. As those children are nothing to the Obama cartel, so they are to Campbell and her NETWORK bus bunch.
In other related news, we read that Sister Carol Keehan and her so-called "Catholic" Health Association are "pleased" by the Obamacare ruling. Moreover, she states that the CHA signed amicus briefs urging the SCOTUS to rule in favor of Obamacare. Well, golly-gee-whiz!! After we all thought she was beginning to wake up and smell some coffee! Some progressive operative must have taken her to the woodshed - or perhaps promised her another Pen of Perfidy. Yawn! This is no earth-shattering shock.
So as not to end this post on such a dour note, I link now to an interview with Archbishop Joseph Naumann of the Archdiocese of Kansas in Kansas conducted by the Catholic World Report. He has good things to say regarding the principle of subsidiarity (a principle obviously disregarded and even disobeyed by the USCCB as illustrated above), why the social justice arm of the USCCB was wrong to demonize Paul Ryan's budget proposal and more. Please read it. In a subsequent post I will put forth my opinion on what we must do if we wish to fend off the Obamacare monster.
This Saturday, March 6, the Archdiocese of Baltimore's 31st Archdiocesan Annual Social Ministry Convocation will take place (click link for time and venue). The theme of this session is (drum roll, please!): Peace, Poverty and Mother Earth. Already we know that it is a groaner. A glance at the workshops will reveal the typical left-wing climate-change pabulum. For example:
Workshop #2 will teach how to "resist energy exploitation" such as those nasty "nuclear resurgences" and "mountaintop removal". It will focus on the "role of arts in inspiring the movement".
Workshop #3 will teach its attendees how to "live more responsibly on our fragile Earth" (Why, oh why is that E capitalized?)
Workshop #5 - "Eat simple! Live simple! Save the planet!" Perhaps they think their use of poor grammar will get their point across more effectively. However, let's give them a break. After all, the education system that brainwashed these people into believing the global warming hype is the same system that didn't bother to teach proper language skills.
Workshop #6 tells us that "Earth is in the emergency room". There is a "call for healing", for "earth is now in desperate need of that healing care."
The keynote address will be given by Sister Simone Campbell, SSS, who is the executive director of NETWORK. Just before the 2008 presidential election, Sister wrote a piece called, "What Does It Mean to Vote for the Common Good?" We see in this brief excerpt a bunch of convoluted gobblygoop about "balance of power", "the use of fear in our time", ad infinitum ad nauseum. In reality, it was really quite simple. The Messiah Most Miserable never had bones admitting his allegiance to his pro-abortion puppet-masters. Is that what Sister may have been trying to obfuscate?
NETWORK! Now what is that? On the front page, we see that they "lobby for economic and social transformation." Hmmm...sound familiar? Can we all say "Alinskyite"? Its "issues" page features "peacemaking" (love those nebulous things!), "comprehensive immigration reform", "healthcare access" (of course!) and "ecological justice". Now what's missing? How about "justice for the unborn", "the indispensible role of traditional marriage", "the destructive consequences of contraception"? I guess there's no room for them on an already-crowded agenda!
To whom do you make payments for this? "CCHD/Archdiocese of Baltimore"! I think what we have here is a big community-organizing session going on this Saturday, around the de facto religion called "climate change hysteria". I'd be willing to bet that while sob stories about "climate change" will abound, there will be heard not one peep about the tragedy in Argentina that is mentioned in the post below this one.
Baltimore faithful Catholics, I urge you to make your protests heard on this matter.
