Apostate Clerics Share Blame For Mass Murders

"If we can accept that the mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?"  That question was asked by Saint Teresa of Calcutta as she spoke at the 1994 National Prayer Breakfast.  Those words have obvious significance today.

At Robb Elementary School in Uvalde Texas, Salvador Ramos entered with firearms and murdered nineteen school children and two teachers.  Many others were wounded as well.  Police dilly-dallied with their response to the shooting (more on that in the next post).  A Border Control agent shot Ramos dead, ending his killing spree.

Facts are emerging about Ramos and his past as I write this.  The progressives have predictably placed all the blame on inanimate firearms and none on Ramos.  They certainly ascribed to themselves no blame for driving God and godliness out of schools, for facilitating the murders of thousands of babies every day via abortion, for the tearing down of the traditional family, etc.

When I say progressives, I also mean the majority of US Catholic bishops.  Earlier this week, these feckless hirelings failed - refused - to stand in solidarity with Archbishop Cordileone as he administered the sorely-needed medicine of church discipline to Nancy Pelosi, a chief cheerleader for baby-killers.  Some did, the majority did not.  By the way - owing to her facilitation of child slaughter and all sorts of homosexual deviancy, bears her share of the Uvalde victims' blood on her hands.  Father Stephen Imbarrato, a priest who has participated in several Red Rose Rescues, issued the following statement, with which I concur.

The Jesuit bird-cage liner known as "America" magazine featured a bunch of bishops waxing indignant and mournful about (wait for it!) guns!  Surprise - not!  All of these Jesuit-chosen bishops either want to : get to the "root cause" and/or ban guns altogether.  As for their pursuit of the "root cause", please note that not one of these swishops voiced support for Archbishop Cordileone's actions aimed at curing an actual root cause of the malaise in our culture.  Of particular note is the bloviating of Cardinal Cupich, yammering on and on about guns.  His archdiocese of Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the country, yet it is one of the most deadly cities in the US for all its shootings.  I might also point out that one of his noisier priests, Fr Michael Pfleger, called for the owner of a Chicago gun shop to be "snuffed".  Cupich did absolutely nothing in the face of that threat.

This is the main point.  The bishops who refuse to bestir themselves when it comes to the attacks on faith and morality from this secular culture have absolutely no credence whatsoever to pontificate about violence.  In many cases, these same bishops actually stand in the way of good people who are trying to bring some sanity to this culture.  For instance, the same aforementioned Cupich, while bishop of Spokane, refused to let his priests join in the 40 Days for Life campaign.  Bishops here in the State of Maryland have always dragged their feet when it comes to petition drives to fight horrendous abortion and/or gay agenda laws.  In Cardinal Gregory's first "Theology on Tap" talk, he sang the praises of Fortunate Families, a gay-enabling cabal.

It is those clerics, with a few notable exceptions, who have a substantial share of the responsibility for the Uvalde shootings and other acts of violence.  They have failed - refused - to call their congregations and communities to repentance and conversion to the One True Faith.  It is they who refuse to protect the dignity of the Sacraments and the Mass of the Ages.  Instead of solid truth leading to salvation, they preach insipid homilies that are full of happy-clappy, fluffy-puff stuff.  I would ask whether or not they'll ever wake up, but I am becoming more and more convinced that many of them aren't so much weak as they are in actual cahoots with the Soros-led cabal that itches for a godless society.  Therefore I won't ask when they will wake up.  I ask, when will WE wake up??

US Bishops, Please Stop Degrading The Church's Teachings For Federal Money!

I stated Tuesday that in the wake of Obama's executive order, the US hierarchy of the Church should finally wake up and immediately divest themselves of federal funds.  Others are sounding the same clarion call.  Read the Acton Institute blog; its president, Father Robert Sirico, aptly stated, "there is the threat that he who drinks the king's wine sings the king's song".  They bishops are certainly singing Obama's song loudly as they screech and shill for the de facto abolition of our southern borders.

The Acton article was offering commentary on Phil Lawler's piece about the dangers of relying on federal contracts.  I pray the bishops wake up and start refusing government money.  The conditions that come with that money amount to an effective prostituting of Church teaching on morality; that actually has been allowed to happen for way too long.  The bishops must stop this before it's too late and the Church's moral credibility is irretrievable.

Defunding Of Obamacare - Moral Imperative For US Bishops

A piece by Terry Jeffrey was posted in today's online edition of Townhall.com.  It is entitled, "A Vote to Fund Obamacare Will Fund Deliberate Destruction of Life".  He's right.  There's no getting around it.  He is focused on the bill that Congress must vote upon to fund the US government past September 30th.  That funding measure will contain funding for Obamacare and all its immoral ramifications.

I'll quote a succinct sentence of his: "If the bill permits funding for implementation of Obamacare and a member votes for it, that member will be voting to allow the administration to send tax dollars to health care providers who perform abortions."  While I'm not a moral theologian by any stretch, I cannot see how such a vote would not constitute formal and material cooperation with grave moral evil.  Therefore I cannot see how any faithful Catholic can support Obamacare.  To my progressive/liberal readers: don't even try to invoke the Principle of Double Effect; the funneling of tax dollars to fund the murders of countless babies far outweighs any benefit that might come from Obamacare - and such benefits probably don't exist anyway.

No faithful Catholic in Congress can vote for any funding resolution as it currently stands.  No other decent Catholic can support it.  That means you, Your Eminences and Your Excellencies!

Yes, let's focus on the pathetic stance taken by the US bishops so far.  And truly it has been pathetic, wimpy and downright wimpy.  All we've heard from them is pleas to be exempted from the HHS contraception mandate (as if the rights of other decent people don't matter).  Nowhere have I read that the bishops were calling for the defunding of the Obamacare monstrosity.  The tweaks for the bill they did propose amount to putting lipstick on a rattlesnake.

The bishops and priests of this nation have a solemn duty to demand that Obamacare be defunded.  If the progressives rattle the saber of "shutting down the government", let that be on their heads.  It's way past time that our shepherds found the clarity and courage to cry out "NO!" to the grave moral evil that is called Obamacare.

Vortex: Blindness About Obama

Using Bishop Tobin's announcement of his party affiliation change as an introduction, Michael Voris rebukes the US bishops for their blindness towards Obama's hell-spawned policies.  I'll take it a step further.  It's not "blindness".  The bishops aren't complete fools.  They most likely are jettisoning their sacred duties because they want to keep the government grants flowing into their various coffers.  I will also give Bishop Tobin some additional credit.  Recall that it was he who was verbally abused by Chris Matthews because he (being Patrick Kennedy's bishop) actually sat Kennedy down and read him the Riot Act, so to speak.

As you watch this Vortex, please keep in mind the bishops' planned push for amnesty for illegal aliens.  Wouldn't it be wonderful if they showed the same drive and initiative for unborn babies?

Who Needs Pro-Aborts When We Have The USCCB??

One would have to be an ostrich with head in dirt not to know that we are in the midst of a budget showdown with the Messiah Most Miserable.  The GOP in the House seems to be showing some backbone in insisting that abortion and Obamacare be defunded - period.  The pro-abortion Democrat party has flat-out said (mostly through Reid) that they'll shut down the federal government rather than defund abortion.

Comes now the USCCB, bemoaning the governmental shutdown, whining about "the poor and vulnerable" who might be hurt by a shutdown.  Read this "action alert" from the USCCB.

I've got some clear-cut suggestions for the USCCB.
  • There's something called the principle of subsidiarity that the bishops insist on forgetting.  Well, amongst other things, this principle lays the care of the poor at the feet of the Church, not high levels of government.  The USCCB cannot abdicate this responsibility.
  • If the USCCB is concerned about the poor and vulnerable, they might do well to remember the poor and vulnerable babies that governmental funding would murder.  They should then raise loud and courageous voices to join ours in insisting that abortion be defunding - and that's just for starters.

US Bishops Support Three Pro-Life Bills

From Lifesite News we read that Cardinal DiNardo of Galveston-Houston, chairman of the Committee on Pro-Life Activities of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), announced the bishops' support of:
  • Protect Life Act, H.R. 358
  • Abortion Non-Discrimination Act, H.R. 361
  • No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, H.R. 3
While we are pleased with this support, we also call on the nation's bishops to lend support for H.R. 2, Repealing the Job-Killing Health Care Law Act.  It cannot be fixed.  Socialized medicine is inherently dangerous to innocent life.  It is completely at odds with the principle of subsidiarity and furthers the encroachment of socialism in our culture.  H.R. 2 passed the House and now is awaiting a vote by the U.S. Senate.  Your Eminences and Excellencies, please support the complete dismantling of the ACA monstrosity.

Dear Bishops! Here Are Some Helpful Suggestions!

(Click here if you can't see embedded video)

Actually, some of the suggestions are formally incumbent upon the clergy by Canon Law, such as Canon 915.  Implement these, your excellencies and your eminences, and watch Mass attendance, donations, spiritual life, vocations, etc soar!
