The recent revelations that Roe may finally be relegated to history's dung-heap seem to have rankled the feathers of Rebecca Bratten-Weiss, one time head of an organizational flop known as "New Pro-Life Movement". I have written a bit about them in the past: see here, here, here.
Today she plopped this stinker on Twitter.

So now the mask is off and we see the erstwhile "New Pro Life Movement" for what it was - a sham. I use the past tense because I see no current sign of the NPLM on the web.
Any dalliance with liberalism by pro-life activists usually will have a diluting effect on their pro-life convictions, leading them to issue bird-brained statements such as you saw above or promoting pro-abortion political candidates. Father James Altman has some things to say about this matter, also.
He said, among other things, that the "greatest tragedy in the Church is the ignorance of the laity". That will be the subject of a post soon to follow this one.
Father James Altman demands, at the 1:00 mark, that Cardinals Cupich and Gregory "turn in their red hats".
In regards to Cardinal Gregory, he is referring to this stunt that Cardinal Gregory and then-Cardinal McCarrick pulled in 2004. Later in the clip, he states that evil has entered into the hearts of many prelates, for how else could they facilitate the public sacrilege of pro-aborts receiving Holy Communion?
Let's take a closer look at Cardinal Cupich, shall we? Two weeks ago I posted that Cupich seems to be the designated poster boy for the pope's insidious attempts to quash the Latin Mass. In that post is video of the raucous debauchery that Father "Snuffy" Pfleger called a "Christmas Eve Mass".
Recently, Father Anthony Bus. pastor of St Stanislaus Kostka parish asked the Chicago see for permission to offer Holy Mass ad orientem. Permission was denied. Father Bus replied with an open letter on January 13 acknowledging that he would be obedient to the directives, but also expressing his disappointment at the decision. In that letter he spelled out his reasons. Before you proceed with further reading of this post, I ask you to read completely Father Bus's open letter.
Apparently the Chicago chancery took umbrage at that letter; that is to say, their guilty consciences were stung - much like the consciences of those who immediately after hearing St Stephen, stoned him. On January 17th, Father Bus wrote another open letter detailing the mischief meted out to him by Bishop Lombardo. Note that Father says that Canon 1373 was cited against him. Perhaps I should say was misused against him. We all knew that is precisely why Pope Francis stuck that poorly worded thing in canon law, and here we have a prime example of its intended purpose. So now Father is being sent to some hinterland to "reflect on his priesthood", whatever the hell that means! It is very reminiscent of what happened in my own parish nearly ten years ago.
One Mad Mom has an excellent take on this situation. Her reference to Father Martin is no doubt occasioned by this, written after Bishop Strickland defended Father Bus.
So, according to Cupich, Father Bus and the priests of St John Cantius are to be stifled, while he himself can be the principal celebrant at a pagan Chinese New Year ceremony? Check out this write-up, complete with video. Cupich's attempts to quash the Mass of the Ages is most likely a feeble attempt to justify his own blatant idolatry.
The Catholic internet has been ablaze with the announcement that Father Altman has been kicked to the curb by Bishop Callahan of the Diocese of La Crosse. Complicit Clergy has the official decree on their site. Read it and notice a few things. First, he's not completely suspended. He is able to offer private Mass, but only his parents would be allowed to attend. So far, they haven't kicked him out of the rectory. UPDATE! I heard he has 30 days in the rectory before he and his parents must vacate - but he is still required to reside in the diocese. Well, that's nice I suppose, but when you consider that his 90-year old parents live with him in the rectory, even for Callahan it would be rather underhanded to kick them to the curb. Callahan didn't order him to complete silence, either. He just can't preach.
Item 7 speaks of addressing "the issues that caused the issuance of this decree". Okay! So what are these alleged "issues"? Why won't the bishop explain just what they are? Could it be because those "issues" do not justify the restriction of Father Altman's priestly vocation?
Father Altman isn't taking this lying down. He shouldn't, and neither should we. I post now his reactions as shared with LifeSiteNews. Below the video I'll have more discussion, along with actions to take.
As Father Altman noted, the bishop didn't give him his notice of dismissal himself. I recall when Father Guarnizo was ejected from my parish nine years ago, at least Bishop Knestout lowered the boom in person, showing just some shreds of decency. Father Altman didn't get that. Neither did his parishioners, for Callahan had a letter read to the parish, instead of an in-person explanation. Here is a recording of that reading. Again we hear the sniveling about "division". So what? Truth is "divisive" only if there are those who rebel against it. Aside from the de facto enshrining of "unity" as the "idol-de-jour", that letter was nothing but a bunch of fluffy-puff stuff.
Many things can only be done by local residents: cutting off donations, prayers and protests outside diocesan offices and the bishop's residence. Whenever he appears in public, someone should be there to challenge him - respectfully but plainly and loud enough to be heard, recording it - regarding his despicable actions towards Father Altman.
Other things can - and must - be done by those of us living in other areas. Here is contact information from the diocesan website. We need to fill their email and regular mail boxes, melt their fax and phone lines, and to do so on a long-term basis. Most of us have cell plans that encompass the entire country as a "home area" so there is no "long-distance" reason not to call repeatedly. Because I suspect that other bishops - particularly progressive bishops - may have added some impetus to Bishop Callahan's dismissal of Father Altman, I suggest we hold their feet to the fire, too - especially financially.
On a Facebook page dedicated to Father Altman and his plight is a suggestion that we all wear or carry white roses to Mass on August 15th to raise awareness of the situation. I support that idea, PROVIDED that all who wear or carry a white rose be prepared to explain the significance of this white rose to people who will wonder why you are doing so. Remember that archdiocesan Catholic news outlets will most likely be striving to keep this matter quiet, so many good Catholics may well not be aware of this situation.
Father Altman has made it clear that he will not quietly fade away. Neither should we.
Almost two weeks ago, Father James Altman was interviewed by Church Militant. The video is below. In that video, Father excoriates the bishops for their dereliction of duty on account of the covid-hysteria. Please note that at the 10:00 mark, Father praises his own bishop, William Callahan of La Crosse (WI) for at least staying open. In other words, he contrasts his bishop to the other US bishops. Might this have made Callahan so uncomfortable that he felt compelled to kick Father Altman to the curb in order to get back in good graces with his bishop-buddies?
On Friday, May 21, Bishop Callahan relieved Father Altman of his priestly duties and asked for his resignation. His final Mass at St. James the Less Parish was two days later - Pentecost Sunday. Below is his homily from that Mass. Callahan is accusing Altman of being "divisive and ineffective". Could Callahan possibly be more ambiguous and nebulous about those charges? I applaud Father for initiating a canonical challenge to that bogus charge.
So what can we do, besides prayer, which we should all be doing anyway? Phone calls, emails, and letters are necessary to these two individuals. First, contact the Apostolic Nuncio to the United States. His contact information is given here. Let them know politely but firmly that it is Bishop Callahan who should be disciplined for trying to get one of his priests sacked for simply telling the truth and providing the Sacraments to his flock. Second, contact Bishop Callahan himself. He needs to be rebuked for how he is treating Father Altman. He needs to be reminded that he is a bishop who must answer for the manner in which he carries out (or fails to, as the case may be) his sacred duties. Lastly, those in the Diocese of La Crosse can advise their bishop that they will no longer contribute their hard-earned money to someone intent on destroying the vocation of a good priest.
Father Altman presents a talk below explaining how the popes of the past 175 years, from Pius IX to Benedict XVI, have formally condemned socialism in all its alias - including liberalism. Please note a few things.
Father Altman not only quotes the various pontiffs, but he also cites the documents in which the popes pronounced their denunciations. The names and publication dates are plainly displayed on the screens.
Missing from that list of popes is our current Pope Francis. Sadly, we know why.
The popes decry the socialist usage of terms such as: liberty, fraternity, equality and others. If they seem familiar, it's because these embody Masonic ideals such as those that drove the French Revolution.
Understand that the nightmares that these pontiffs foresaw will be ours should Biden prevail this Wednesday. Please pray your rosaries with the specific request that Trump prevails.
Well, that didn't take long, did it? There isn't yet certainty as to the outcome to the election, but Archbishop Gregory has already started bowing and scraping before Bumblin Biden. Reuters reports that Gregory wants to seek "common ground" with Biden. That shouldn't be too hard to find for they actually have quite a bit. Gregory claims that they differ on abortion (by how much is anyone's guess) but judging from Gregory's already cozy associations with LGTB elements, he and Biden may well see eye to eye on those issues.
Note in that video how Gregory aspires to be a "bridge-builder". Now doesn't that term sound familiar? The archbishop is in Rome at present, awaiting the bestowal of the cardinal's red hat that will be bestowed on him this coming Saturday. While there, he openly stated that he plans to give Biden Holy Communion. That is, he plans to violate Canon 915 and to formally and materially cooperate with Biden's mortal sin of receiving Holy Communion sacrilegiously. That cooperation, of course, is its own mortal sin.
I know the Archdiocese of Washington keeps its beady little eyes on this blog, who would the designated silent troll please pass the message in the following video to your bosses? Pray that it will do some good. Thank you.
This interview that Gregory gave demonstrates that he intends to follow in the steps of Cupich, Farrell, Joseph Tobin and other progressives as they promote the now-debunked "seamless-garment" crap of the late Cardinal Bernardin. Gregory is quite unabashed and blatant here.
He wants to "broaden the concept of pro-life" so that "other pressing issues might be on a par with the ongoing slaughter of 3500+ babies daily in this country.
He commented on the language of the USCCB's voting guide that called abortion "our preeminent priority". He said that language "could benefit from rephrasing".
He wants to include the "history of black Catholics in the US" as part of Catholic school curriculum. I wonder when he plans to include modules on "history of Irish Catholics" or "Italian Catholics"? But I digress
He commented on recent firings of openly "gay-married" employees of Catholic institutions by saying "it's not a one-size-fits-all situation". So when is the retention of a flagrantly disobedient Catholic not a scandal?
He said that LGBT individuals should be treated with respect. That is true enough as they are made in the image and likeness of God. But one could wonder what Gregory meant by "respect" given his overly-cozy relationship with Fortunate Families.
Of course he bad-mouthed Father James Altman for having the chutzpah of acting and speaking as an actual priest of Jesus Christ and proclaiming the truth. He called Altman's remarks "egregious and unhelpful" and that Catholics should base voting on "the full panoply of the church's social teaching". I remind his excellency that the true social teaching of the Church is to be found in Father Altman's words, not his progressive interpretation of it. Now Gregory had to know whom he was defending in that remark. He is responsible for leading souls astray and into formal cooperation with Biden's own support of baby-slaughter.
One can only suspect for whom he voted this past Tuesday. Let us keep praying that the various voting frauds come to light and that Trump claims his rightful victory.
Below is a Vortex from a few days ago. I'm going to focus on one aspect of it only. Voris talked about how Jesus required labor from the servants to perform His first miracle at Cana. He was granting Our Lady's request, but required human effort. When I say "required", I don't mean He needed the servants per se. Rather, He commanded it because He chooses to work through us, not in lieu of us or in spite of us. Here is the video, and below that I will have more commentary.
I see on many social media pages discussions of various evils, such as the one being perpetrated against Father James Altman - the subject of my two previous blog posts. Many people voice their anger and disappointment. Some will suggest prayer. All too seldom do I see suggestions for practical actions. It is the last that is sorely lacking. From what we can glean from the vortex, it is that through which Our Lord might wish to work.
One thing I will say for the left is that when they hear calls to action from their leaders, they respond with much determination and alacrity. For the most part, I do not see that same sense of purpose in play amongst our numbers. We are serving Our Lord. Does He not deserve our best? We hear from Church Militant that a lay Catholic group has called upon DC Archbishop Gregory to denounce the anti-Catholic bigotry in the Democratic Party, a trait that the dems no longer bother to conceal. This post follows upon the previous post. Bishop Callahan is lashing out at Father Altman by forbidding any further live-streaming of his Masses. Father touches upon the controversy in his homily. At the end of this video is again a plea for prayers and for petitioning the bishop to recant his evil towards Father.
This past week, Father James Altman, a priest of the Diocese of La Crosse, WI, put out this video that rightly excoriates the Catholics who plan to sin by voting for candidates from the party of death: that is, Democrats. Does that sound so harsh? Recall that the dems themselves enshrined baby-murder and sexual perversions in their party platform. Father Altman is simply acting as a true priest who is warning Catholics of the dangers to their souls if they vote Democrat. Let us recall that "rebuking the sinner" is one of the Spiritual Acts of Mercy.
Naturally his bishop is throwing him under the bus. I'll have more to say after you review the video.
Here is the press release that Bishop William Callahan plopped on his website today. He acknowledges that what Fr Altman said is true. Well, he had too, lest he look like a total blathering fool. But then he starts to snivel about the tone of Father's words. As I watched this video, I saw nothing angry about Father's words. The bishop wimpers about Father being judgmental, but his whole letter itself reeks of judgmentalism - the whiny, crybaby type, to be precise.
Then Callahan invokes Matthew 18, and states that he is correcting Father in private, not in public. What??? Just what in hades does he think he's doing by publishing his screed on the diocesan website? So much error, so little time.
