That choice of words above was not mere hyperbole. In San Diego, CA, PETA is suing Sea World Parks, allegedly on behalf of some orca whales. They claim that the whale's 13th Amendment "rights" are being violated. The 13th Amendment to the US Constitution prohibits slavery - slavery of human beings, that is. By the way - a link to the text of the US Constitution is on the right sidebar.
The suit has yet to be filed in court, so it's unknown at this time just what compensation PETA is seeking on behalf of its clients. I seriously doubt if those clients are capable of handling money, so of course PETA, being the kind-hearted souls that they are, will take upon themselves the onus of being the, uh.., custodians of any cash awards that might arise from this suit. Of course that assumes that the judge won't have a modicum of common sense and dismiss it as the frivolous crap that it is. But even if that happens, PETA has stuck itself in the limelight and probably has conned more than a few suckers into parting with their money.
Perhaps that's the point - to fatten the PETA bank accounts and put themselves in the public eye, even if they have to act like buffoons in the process. The whole thing can actually be summed up nicely in a little ditty that I threw together this afternoon, in honor of PETA. Since they're ostensibly concerned about "slavery", I set this to the tune of the old spiritual, "Let My People Go". So sing the following in PETA's (dis)honor!
When PETA's cash flow was running dry - let the orcas go
They cooked up a scheme to keep their profiles high - let the orcas go
Go down, PETA - way down to Sea World land.
Tell those zoo folks - to let the orcas go!
PETA! If you co-opt the above musical masterpiece for your fundraising without cutting me in on the take, I'm gonna sue!!

We're All Guilty Of This One!
How many of us thoughtlessly sliced poor little carrots, or heartlessly ripped to pieces the leaves of romaine lettuce? Shame on us!
Of course the above is satire. Let's hope that no one takes it seriously.

Those British Bishop Meanies! Don't They Know Fish Have Feelings, Too??
Thus pouts Bruce Friedrich, a vice president for PETA (bet you couldn't guess). In his Huffington Post article on the topic, he sniffs that the bishops should include fish in the off-limits list for Fridays. Why? Well it seems that fish sing, have complex social structures, use tools, etc.
What he says is most important is that fish feel pain. He states with great angst that fish "are hooked, suffocated, crushed, impaled, cut open, gutted, all while still conscious, and they feel every agonizing second." Gee! Doesn't that sound similar to what happens to human babies as they're being aborted?
In his article, he has embedded a video of what happens to various animals as they are being butchered. Below I embed a clip from the documentary entitled "Silent Scream", narrated by the late Dr Bernard Nathanson. Watch it There is no denying that a tiny child is being dismembered in the most cruel manner possible. By the way - PETA, champions of so-called "compassion", waffle when it comes to opposing this barbarity against human babies; click here to listen to them squirm when questioned about their contradictory stances. Rather makes Friedrich's self-righteous snit to be laughable, doesn't it? Click here if you can't see embedded video.

Discovery Terrorist Espoused Mainline Environmentalist Mantras
James Jay Lee had a debate with American Life League activists during their "Protest the Pill" event at the 16th Street Planned Parenthood last year. The videos are posted on Jill Staneck's blog. Please read what she says, as the text and the first and third videos establish Lee's identity. It's the second one in which he espouses his warped world view.
That world view, be it ever so demented, is shared by many environmentalists: some highly placed, in positions of respectability. If you thought savetheplanetprotest was a whacky site to read, try this one - only it's not some thrown-together text on the web; it appears in Psychology Today. It's entitled "The Five Year Ban: Because A Billion Less People Is A Great Place To Start" by Steven Kotler. As the title implies, this man is calling for a 5-year moratorium on babies being born! Really, now? And just how does he think such a draconian farce of a law would be enforced? That would make Red China look benign in comparison!
