Red Hen Is Losing Its Feathers

I've been seeing several shots of the "greeting" on Red Hen of Lexington VA's business phone.  One must say it's rather unique in its application of basic marketing principles - you know, the ones about being welcoming, inviting, friendly, etc as being necessary to draw customers.  See for yourselves

Wasn't that charming?  Just full of that much-fabled southern hospitality?

Are the brains of the owners of Red Hen in Lexington VA (not to be confused with other local restaurants with the same name) so addled by progressivism that they are totally devoid of any business sense?  Or common sense?

Let’s assume that an out-of-state traveler, having no knowledge of the treatment of Sarah Sanders, was simply looking for a place to eat.  They would most likely find this greeting to be outright rude. It is rude.  Whatever happened to "choose civility"?

It is also stupid from a business viewpoint (among others).  One does not attract customers by addressing them in a snarky and condescending manner.  I’m sure many stayed away after hearing that screed: not only conservatives but liberals who did not appreciate the vitriol in that greeting.

I understand that a “gofundme” account has been set up to support the Wilkinsons because of their so-called “bold” actions that night – actions that included stalking Mrs Sanders as she left the Red Hen to go to another restaurant.  Now why would Ms Wilkinson stalk Mrs Sanders like that? Didn’t she have a restaurant to run that evening? But I digress.  This “gofundme” account is most likely meant to supplement the restaurant revenues that are tanking because decent people will not step one foot in the place. Maybe she can ask her cousin Meryl Streep to bail her out.

Getting back to the phone greetings, I was curious so I attempted to call the Red Hen myself.  Here's what I got.



Alrighty then!  That should get the clientele flocking back to the restaurant in a jiffy!  Calling restrictions!  When did they teach that in "Marketing 101"?  These "red hen" dumb clucks are losing it big time!  Well, they made their bed and now they can lay in it.  If this restaurant goes belly-up, it will be no great loss.

Another NBC Personality Utters Crass Comments

I'm beginning to think that NBC should mean "Neanderthal Buffoon Circus".  While Melissa Harris-Perry did issue an apology for her mockery of the Romney baby, Natasha Leggero let loose with mockery of elderly World War II veterans.

The progressives and liberals are definitely dropping all facades of civility.  The NBC affiliates are one of the worst enclaves of these people.  Take a gander at the entire first link and you'll see a whole list of NBC individuals who had to be shamed into apologizing for their arrogant gaffes.  I suspect that list will keep growing even after Leggero utters her "mea culpas".

Lunch Is On The House!!

When some people say it - they mean it!  Case in point?

That would be US Representative Laura Richardson (D-CA).  The Washington Times reported last week that her local office hosted a "briefing" for 1,000 senior citizens, paid from her congressional office fund.  The Times reported the elaborate menu, with "singing and dancing" reported.  The office funds are not to be used for social events.

This is not the first such alleged abuse by Rep Richardson.  Two months ago, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington asked the FBI to investigate her use of her office staff for campaigning functions.

Such is the arrogance of the progressives (and yes, the majority of these are by and large Democrats).  They seek to pick our pockets via taxes, self-righteously claiming that they know better what to do with our money than do we.  Now we see what they mean.  They have the complicity and cooperation of their partners who run that bureaucratic machine known as the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.  I hope this piece, and the Times article, sheds much needed light on these cockroaches.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you just how much that little "briefing lunch" cost us.  Sit down.  They shelled out of taxpayer funds, $20,000.00!  Let me spell that out, just to make sure there is no confusion with all those zeros.  That is Twenty Thousand Dollars!  Isn't that just....special???

Wonkette Removes Its Slimey Attack On Baby Trig Palin

Wonkette, a liberal blog, showed the true colors of progressives and liberals when Jack Stuef posted a piece that mocked Sarah Palin's baby boy, Trig, precisely because the little guy has Down Syndrome.  The occasion was Trig's birthday, and the title of the piece was "Greatest Living American: A Children's Treasury of Trig Crap On His Birthday". 

I rejoice that there is still a modicum of common sense in this country - enough to raise a hue and cry and to get advertisers to pull their ads.  Among such companies are Papa John's Pizza, Huggies, Nordstrom and Vanguard.  Now perhaps Wonkette was filling pangs of conscience; more likely it was filling pinch of wallet.  At any rate, they pulled the post and apologized - sort of.  I hardly call that an eloquent apology, but what else can we expect from such neanderthals?

Yes, Stuef acted out like the typical school yard bully who likes to pick on those weaker than he, but at least he is up front about it.  Truth be told, such is the mindset of those who espouse progressive, atheistic liberalism.  Embracing abortion and the incumbent hatred of life, they lose any real sense of what it is to be a civilized human being.  Their barbarism becomes more and more blatant.

Stuef's attitude is quite common.  It's well-known that if a woman today receives word that her in-utero baby has Down Syndrome, she is at least 80% likely to have her child killed.  So much for the "compassion" of liberalism.  Yes, they'll put on a nice politically-correct show of "tolerance", but every so often, they let their hair down and the real ugliness shows.  But golly gee, let some advertisers show some outrage, and the false veneer goes right back up, lickety-split.  Well, now decent folks are waking up to these charlatans - finally.
