In this homily Father forgot to mention sodomite #mowwidge in Ireland.  But still, how Ireland has degraded itself these past few years.  Let us keep praying our Rosaries for our Church.

Mary Wagner Speaks To Ireland To #Savethe8th

Ireland is one of the very few countries that still outlaws the baby-slaughter known as abortion.  The 8th Amendment to its constitution specifically guarantees the right to life of unborn children.  As might be expected, this amendment has long been in the cross-hairs of pro-abortion forces everywhere.  They have been making inroads, however, and now they have managed to put the 8th amendment to referendum.  The vote in Ireland will occur on March 25.  Should the amendment be repealed, Ireland will join the majority of western civilization as it spirals down the sewer of moral depravity and blood-shed.

Mary Wagner, is a pro-life activist in Canada who has been arrested and jailed multiple times for going into abortion mills to convince women to spare their children.  She now gives this plea to Ireland.  We must all pray for Ireland that the vote goes to preserve its 8th amendment.

Action Alert - Especially For My Readers In Ireland (But Others Join In)

Via Facebook I became aware of this travesty. It occurred at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Menlough, County Galway, Ireland.  The occasion was the August 12th wedding of Rois Lydon and Paudie Mannion.  As you can see, the priest, Father John O'Gorman, takes it upon himself to trash the rubrics of Holy Mass to turn the church into a dance hall, cajoling the wedding party to join him in the sacrilege.

The congregation has the right to a reverential Mass true to the rubrics set forth by the Church.  It is through these rubrics that the congregation appreciates and understands the purpose of the Mass as an unbloody sacrifice of Our Lord.  We are in need of that participation for our very salvation - hence the need for the Third Commandment.  No other consideration - good though that consideration is in and of itself - can overrule the order of Holy Mass.

In another blog, there was some discussion about whether or not it does any good to spread this kind of "bad news".  Well, for it's own sake, or just because we want to gripe, I'd say "no".  But that's not why this blog exists.  One key thing we must recall is that each and everyone of us is part and parcel of the Church Militant.  We, each and everyone of us, has a duty to act in the face of these evils - no exceptions.  This scenario is no different.  Those of you in the British Isles are better able to place phone calls to protest this particular outrage.  However, those of us in different parts of the world can certainly send emails of protest to the Archdiocese of Tuam, in which this parish is situated.  I just sent one to both the chancellor and vicar general of that diocese.  Let's all raise our voices.

The Serpents HAVE Returned To Ireland

Ireland, as a nation, has just voted to ensconce "same-sex marriage" into its constitution.  In so doing, it has sealed its fate as a nation by thumbing its nose at God, whom it once humbly acknowledged as its Lord.  Oh, the end won't come immediately as it will take some time for the traditions and social structures, once founded on Christian principles, to rot from within and crumble from without.  But unless there is speedy repentance and course correction, its ruin is inevitable.

Saints Patrick, Brigid, Columba and other noted Irish saints must be rolling in their graves.  This is a dark day for Christianity and western civilization.

Will The Snakes Return To Ireland?

It is said that when St. Patrick commenced his evangelization of Ireland in the 5th century, he drove out all the serpents that inhabited the island.  Many took it as a sign that the saint (and others to come after him) would drive out idolatry and many other evils - including homosexuality - from Ireland.  As today's Vortex relates, the referendum vote in two days could spell the end of Christianity in Ireland.  A country that did much to preserve western civilization from hordes of barbarians will decide in two days if they indeed have degraded from Christianity to barbarism.

If they go the way of perversion and immorality, they will in fact be inviting the deadly vipers to return to their once-Christian land and spread their deadly poison.  Sadly, not only are Ireland's Catholic bishops neglecting to speak forcefully about the proper Catholic vote in this referendum, but some are actually playing the role of Judas and are shilling for the mutation of the definition of marriage in Irish law.  Bishop Donal McKeown of Derry stated that Catholics "in good conscience" vote to legitimize "gay marriage".  Of course he's dead-wrong.  No one with a true Catholic conscience will vote for this measure.  I cannot see how this isn't rank heresy on McKeown's part.

Of course we must also ask just what kind of signal does the pope's appointment of Timothy Radclifee send to the people of Ireland as they prepare to go to the polls in two days.  In 2013, he wrote of gay sexual relationships, that is, sodomy, "it can be expressive of Christ’s self-gift. We can also see how it can be expressive of mutual fidelity, a covenantal relationship in which two people bind themselves to each other for ever."  This was in a publicly available report, published well in advance fo this appointment.

Let's offer our Rosaries for a Christian outcome to the vote in a few days.

A Truly Blessed St. Patrick's Day

Two years ago I posted on St Patrick's Day, trying to bring the true spiritual significance in light as opposed to the giddy, superficial crap that trivializes the significance of this day.  I linked to it for I see no need to "reinvent the wheel".

There is one critical update.  Ireland is on the precipice of legalizing the murder of babies.  We need to intercede for that country as it is (currently) one of few bastions of protected places for babies.  If Ireland starts that descent to national bloodshed, perhaps we'll be seeing some real serpents return to Ireland - and this one is far more deadly than the reptile.

Cdl Burke To Irish Priests - Deny Holy Communion To Pro-Aborts

Cardinal Raymond Burke, prefect of the Apostolic Signatura, has weighed in on the debate over legalizing abortion that is now ongoing in the Irish government.  He said that Irish bishops could publicly reprimand pro-abortion politicians.  Moreover, he said that priests should exclude from Holy Communion those politicians who support abortion.  In doing so, he cited Canon 915.

Yoo-hoo!  Cardinals Wuerl, McCarrick, Dolan and O'Malley!  Please take note!  Cardinal Burke speaks to you as well!   There is no "pastoral option" to disobey Canon 915!  Got that???  Stop kissing up to the likes of John Kerry, Sister Carol Keehan, John Sweeney, Joe Biden, etc.  Man up!  Be the shepherds they desperately need because if you don't, they could well spend eternity in hell due to their public rebellion to God's laws.  Now where is the "pastoral option" in that????

Irish Law Targets The Confessional Seal

The Justice Minister of Ireland has proposed 5-year sentences for priests who don't report cases of sexual abuse when they hear it confessed in the confessional.  Needless to say, a proper outrage has arisen not only from the clergy but also the laity.

Make no mistake.  This is not about "protecting children and the vulnerable".  It is an excuse to attack the priesthood.  Does anyone really think that any serial abuser will step into a confessional if he/she knows they'll be reported?

I might suggest an immediate cessation of the "face-to-face" confession.  Restore the practice of all confessions taking place in a screened confessional.  I suggest it not only for Ireland (St Patrick must be rolling in his grave) but for all Catholic churches.  With all the attacks that the Church here is undergoing in the U.S., it's just a mater of time before this confession stunt is attempted here.

Today Is Saint Patrick's Day

I'd like to wish everyone a truly blessed Saint Patrick's Day.  When I say that, I mean a day that truly honors the saint and is free of the "green beer", "kiss-me-I'm-Irish" profanations of this day that have absolutely nothing to do with the Saint that brought Christianity to Ireland.  Let me say outright that I am largely of Irish descent - as if that should matter.

Read St Patrick's life from the New Advent Catholic Encyclopedia.  This is what we celebrate today - not green beer, not Irish culture, but the conversion of an island of pagans in its entirety.  How many here know that today Ireland remains abortion-free?  Granted there are forces that are trying to change that, but the fact that they haven't yet succeeded (hopefully never will) is testament to the foundaton that St. Patrick laid.

Leprechauns  A glance at the wikipedia write-up on these confirms their origins from false religions that were prominent in Ireland before Christianity took root.  It is held that St. Patrick drove snakes from Ireland.  Might belief in these creatures be one of those snakes?  Why then this flirtation, this overly-jocular attitude towards them?  By the way - Druidic culture and practices are coming into vogue by some practitioners of new age idolotries.
Clamoring for exemption from the Lenten abstinence  I first encountered this about eight years ago, when an archdiocesan dispensation was given from the abstinence from meat, because March 17th fell on a Lenten Friday.  In all my years of growing up in Catholic schools, I never heard of it until recently.  What is the motivation for that?  It certainly isn't to celebrate the man who underwent fasting and penances to honor his God for whom he labored.  Indeed, as I discussed the matter with people, I got the sense that they were giggly and gloating about "getting away with corned beef" on a Lenten Friday, like naughty little children.  For the next several years, March 17th won't fall on a Friday, so for now we'll be spared that deplorable spectacle.
Drunkedness  For some reason beyond my comprehension, this is seen as being a rather adorable foible of the Irish.  Many in society truly believe that - why do you think those police vehicles are called "paddy wagons"?  The truth is that alcoholism has plagued many Irish people; Blessed Matt Talbot's life bears witness to that.  However, on this day, drunkedness is expected in celebration of this day.  I heard that there are provisions being made for that in DC, to prevent drunken driving on this day.  Is that how St Patrick is to be honored?

My fellow Catholics of all nationalities, let us throw away the leprechauns and green food dye; at best, they're distractions.  If we're going to pick shamrocks, let's use them as did Saint Patrick - to teach of the Blessed Trinity.  Happy Saint Patrick's Day.

EU "Court" On Ireland's Abortion Laws

If ever there was an overwhelming argument against "one-world government" and the "new order", we saw it in spades this week.  We read in LifeSiteNews of the European Court's "ruling" on the case of a woman who sought an abortion in Ireland.  While it ruled that the woman's right to "privacy" was violated, it did say that it found that there is "no human right to abortion".  Well, they got that last part right, at least.  There is no human right to murder tiny human children.  I suppose these days we really need a court decision to tell us that?

However, because of the "privacy" matter, we see that national sovereignty in general is being imperiled.  The infrastructure is starting to be laid that would allow a tyrant to exercise significant, if not total, control over world affairs.  We have a microcosm of that in the United States.  Misguided people, during the Bush administration, charged ahead with the Homeland Security Act and the "faith-based partnership" stuff.  While their motives may have been honorable, they acted in reckless disregard of the Constitution and the protections afforded by the same.  Now the Messiah Most Miserable is at the helm, and many of these people are shocked - just shocked! - to see the havoc being raised with airport molestations, etc.  Are we learning our lessons yet, or do more outrages have to occur?
