Pope Francis Coddling Gay Perverts?

My colleague at Les Femmes put up a piece detailing how Pope Francis recently "praised" Sister Jeanine Gramick, a co-founder of New Ways Ministry.  She has spent the last 50 years helping perverts hurry their ways to hell with false comfort, etc.  However, the pope her work is in "the style of God", which is all-out blasphemy.  The pope only joins her in their hell-bound trajectory.  New Ways is headquartered in Prince George's County MD.  For decades, the Archdiocese of Washington officially denounced them for their dissidence - even though the prelates have shown some ambivalence themselves towards the Church's teachings.  We will see if the chancery quietly regularizes New Ways' status.

The pope committed this blasphemy in a hand-written note to Gramick.  Another to receive a handwritten papal note was Father James Martin, an LGTBQ(add to the alphabet as desired) shill.  Of course Martin retains his position in the Vatican Communications Office.

There are voices in the Vatican that speak the truth, but they are becoming fewer and fewer.  One reason is that they are being ejected from their positions.   Archbishop Giacomo Morandi was the secretary for the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith before the pope gave him the heave-ho.  The pope transferred Morandiito a small diocese, even though he is an archbishop.  This is clearly seen as a demotion.  One wonders if it is a punishment for being behind the March 2021 statement that forbade blessings of gay "couples".

No doubt the Faith is under attack.  That such attacks come from the Vatican is beyond the pale.

Gay Priest Retreat In Maryland This Coming April

Last week LifeSiteNews published an opinion piece entitled "Time For Bishops To Be Faithful And Shut Down Renegade Priests Who Champion Homosexuality".  A picture of Baltimore's Archbishop William Lori is at the top of the piece.  The reason for that is the scheduled "retreat" for gay priests that is slated to be held at Bon Secours Retreat Center in Marriottsville MD from April 12-14.   The retreat is being led by Fr Peter Daly and most likely Father James Martin will be in attendance.  Let's examine the pieces to this impending debacle.

Bon Secours is itself a dissident den of iniquity.  If the name sounds familiar to readers of this blog, that is because Bon Secours is where Gordon Creamer, gay-married parish council chair of St Ignatius Catholic Church, carries on with his so-called "spiritual direction".  St Ignatius is a parish in the Mount Vernon area of Baltimore City.  They openly flaunt their participation in Baltimore's "gay pride" parade/orgies.  I tried to engage the pastor about the matter, but oddly enough (cough!) he wasn't particularly interested in discussing the matter!  I submit that this pastor, along with Fr Joseph Muth of St Matthew's on Loch Raven Blvd are priests whom Lori should shut down.

Let's look at the retreat leader, Father Peter Daly, as I've written quite a bit about him, too.  In this anthology of posts, you see an account of his interactions with  young men struggling with same-sex attraction.  He admits to telling them that their disordered inclinations aren't disordered and that to act on them isn't sinful.  He pointed them straight towards hell and gave a nudge.  One can bet that is exactly what will happen in Marriottsville in two months.

Now let's look at the reactions of the two Maryland archbishops.  Archbishop Lori continues to turn a blind eye on both St Matthew's and St Ignatius.  Both are dens of gay perversions; there could be more.  These are the only two of which I'm aware at this time  Archbishop Gregory has actually shown himself to be an ally of proponents of gay perversions.  This past summer he openly praised Fortunate Familes duing one of his first "Theology on Tap" presentations.

Will they listen to our demands that they clean up their churches?  One language that they seem to understand is that of money - or more accurately, lack of donation money.  The DC archdiocese is gearing up for its Annual Appeal.  It used to be called the Archbishop's or Cardinal's Appeal (depending on rank of prelate).  They at least know that they cannot invoke the prelate to raise money, as our prelates of late have been, uh, "credibility-challenged" shall we say.  On the webpage they say that 60+ charities are supported via this collection.  Guess what?  You can support good charities directly, without the Archdiocese taking a cut of them.  Moreover, you'd be able to select the recipients of your hard-earned dollars.  Do NOT give one red penny to this or any other diocesan-wide collection.  They have proven over and over again to be unworthy recipients of donations and inept stewards to boot.  I don't know when the Baltimore campaign will happen, but that too should be boycotted until Archbishop Lori disinfects St Matthew's and St Ignatius AND quashes this upcoming "retreat".

Rot Within The Archdiocese Of Baltimore

It's evident right here, courtesy of New Ways Ministry.  It appears that the Archdiocese of Baltimore held a workshop for its employees centered around "gender identity".  The writer of this piece is an employee of the Archdiocese, writing under a pseudonym.  In the second paragraph he identifies himself as gay  He goes on to complain about the thrust of the various talks at this seminar, indicating to sane people that this workshop had some real merit to it.

I could spend all night picking this thing apart, and maybe I will at another time.  Suffice it to say that "Thomas McBride" is someone who needs to be discovered and confronted about his sinful lifestyle, and made to depart if he doesn't repent.  He is probably one of an entire network  within that archdiocese.  No wonder Baltimore has parishes like St. Matthew's on Loch Raven Boulevard that actually march in "gay pride" parades.  They are a menace to souls.  The question now is: does the Baltimore chancery care/

Call For Faithful Catholics To Act - Please Thank Bishop Paprocki For Being A Real Bishop

Please see the previous post for details of Bishop Paprocki's actions - and the vitriol being hurled at him by progressives.  Of course they would be full of venom and spite for darkness hates the light and will always rail against it.

New Ways Monstrosity (my new pet name for it - UPDATE: let's make that New Ways Misery) has published an open letter to the Bishop in which they voice their resentment at the truth being spoken by the bishop.  I don't have time right now to pick this tome apart.  They urge their minions to communicate on their own to the bishop.  They give lip service to being civil, but we know what the reality will be.

I will say this much for the progressives, though.  Generally when they hear a tocsin for action, they will drop what they're doing and heed the call.  We faithful Catholics, on the other hand, tend to demure and content ourselves with watching from the sidelines and remain silent.  We no longer have the luxury of being passive - as if that was ever a valid option.  It's time we change that and we can start now.

The New Ways Monstrosity letter is helpful in one way: it conveniently provides the contact information for Bishop Paprocki.  Please use that to send your own message of support and thanks to the Bishop.  Given the hate and spite that the progressives are sending his way, our messages of support will be much appreciated.  If you feel tongue-tied and don't know quite what to say, LifeSiteNews has drafted a petition of thanksgiving to the Bishop.  Please click here if you would like to sign it.  Of course you can sign the petition and write your own message.

Please do not remain silent.  No one of us can afford to sit by while others do the "heavy lifting" as it were.  We, each one of us, are the Church Militant.  Let's stand up and act, and support those like Bishop Paprocki who take a leading stance.  Please pass this post to your contacts.

Bishop Paprocki Administers Truth To His Flock And Draws Ire Of Progressive Reprobates

On June 12th the Bishop of the Diocese of Springfield (IL) issued guidelines to his churches regarding those who openly flout Church teaching to the detriment of their souls.  I link to the original letter now.  Among other things, he has instructed his priests to obey Canon 915.  For ease of reference, I'll copy/paste it below.

Those who have been excommunicated or interdicted after the imposition or declaration of the penalty and others obstinately persevering in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to holy communion.

That's not so complicated, is it?  Among other things the canon means that those who are flaunting themselves in their commission of mortal sins are not to be assisted by the ministers of Holy Communion in the commission of sacrilege against the Eucharist.  The purpose of this is several-fold:
  • It prevents the sinner from incurring the guilt of yet another mortal sin.
  • It protects the Eucharist from profanation.
  • It prevents scandal to other faithful Catholics
  • It hopefully will drive home to the flagrant sinner the need to repent and to make a good confession so as to escape the danger of eternal damnation.
With all the talk we're hearing about "mercy", we can see that the application of Canon 915 is an act of mercy.  However, some progressives who call themselves "catholic" are in a blather over the good bishop's much-needed directives.  I link now to one such hissy-fit at New Ways Ministry.  I'll highlight one paragraph that illustrates the author's (Robert Shine) abysmal grasp of both reading comprehension and basic Catholic morality.

It is discrimination to target LGBT people when, in a certain sense, all Catholics could be deemed “manifest sinners.” Who among us, including Bishop Paprocki, does not publicly sin at different moments? Yet, funeral rites are not denied to Catholics who pay employees an unjust wage, publicly advocate for the death penalty, or deny climate change.

Please refer to Canon 915, as written in its clear, concise manner.  Shine completely, and I think deliberately omits key descriptors of the sins that would call for the remedy of Canon 915.  Those descriptors are, "obstinately persevering", and "grave".  Shine is right; faithful Catholics do openly sin from time to time.  However, these faithful Catholics will not "obstinately persevere" and most likely the sins will not be "grave" but venial.  As we do have decent dreads of sin and its impact in our lives, we will get ourselves to Confession as soon as possible and we will make amends.  Thus the remedy of Canon 915 is not appropriate in those cases.

Shine also makes another error in assuming that liberal positions on several pet issues of the progressives, e.g., death penalty and climate change, are binding on the Catholic conscience.  They are not.  In fact, I've gone to great lengths to detail why I believe the progressive position on the death penalty may in fact be a sin.  To insinuate that divergence from these liberal positions warrant denial from Holy Communion is to sin against honesty and the Traditions of Holy Mother Church.

Let us recall, of course, that New Ways Ministry has itself been condemned by the Church and its dribblings carry no weight whatsoever.  However, it is helpful to see the intensity with which they wail and gnash their teeth when a Catholic bishop such as Bishop Paprocki is faithful to his sacred trust and utilizes his authority to protect his flock from the wolves of progressivism and heresy.

When Cardinal Hickey Crossed Swords With Georgetown University

HT to Pewsitter, I was directed to this piece of slobbering by New Ways Minstry.  Apparently New Ways Ministry had been meeting in the Dahlgren Chapel at Georgetown Universtiy until some time prior to 1990.  The article gives an account by Georgetown's then-president, Father Timothy Healy S.J. during a 1990 talk.  He had been ordered by Cardinal Hickey to expel New Ways Ministry from campus.  He did so, but felt is was "obscene" and made him "wonder what had happened to my church".  I'll post some comments below.

First, Father Healy wondered "what happened" to the Church.  Perhaps he was absent from that seminary class in moral theology when the Church's teachings on homosexual conduct were made plain.  It could also be that his seminary education was so dumbed down that the Teachings of Jesus Christ were not communicated to him; if he attended a Jesuit seminary, that is entirely possible.  At any rate, all he was being ordered to do was to be faithful to Christ's teachings: teachings that haven't changed during the past, nor will they ever change.

Father Healy has gone onto his reward (such as it may be), but one can well ask "what has happened to Georgetown" when one examines how they've bowed to the culture of death, as exemplified in previous blog posts, to wit:
  • Georgetown Hospital attempting to dehydrate a patient to death
  • The invitations to Kathleen Sebelius, Eleanor Holmes Norton, and Cecile Richards to address their students
  • "Lavender graduations"
  • Sending students to intern with abortion advocacy organizations
  • The foregoing list is not exhaustive
Second, I am delighted to learn that Cardinal Hickey, like a true bishop, ordered that the spiritual cancer known as New Ways Ministry be expelled from a Catholic campus.  That's not the only time the Cardinal had occasion to spank that dissident campus.  I remember well one issue of the Catholic Standard when he really wailed into them for two insults against the faith: 1) the presence of a pro-abortion student group on campus and 2) the removal of crucifixes from classrooms.

From this example it does seem that a local ordinary does have some appreciable authority over schools within its boundaries that are run by religious orders.  Cardinal Hickey utilized it.  That means that Cardinal Wuerl could do so, as well.  Obviously he refuses to do so.  Whom is he aiding and abetting?

Another Courageous Priest - In Montana

Normally I would be loathe to link to anything from New Ways Ministry, but they seem to have the only account of this incident.  Of course, being advocates for perversion, they will be putting onto it their own warped perspective.  I needn't rehash the entire account here but will attempt to shine the light of the Teaching of Jesus Christ onto the matter.

Two years ago, Father Spiering of St. Leo's Catholic Church in Lewistown MT had denied Holy Communion to two gay men who pretended to be "married".  He also expelled them from parish apostolates.  A number of parishioners got into a huff; several members of the choir, including the director, immediately resigned.

It seems that an elderly member of the parish also had her nose put out of joint.  Her own son was engaged in ongoing sodomite mortal sin.  She passed away and expressly asked that the choir director - who had stomped off on her own volition - be allowed to lead the singing.  A former pastor, who was obviously sympathetic to the gays, defended the woman's "right" to sing.  Father Spiering said "no", correctly stating that no such "right" existed.  Do consider that Father Spiering, as pastor, had complete responsibility for the occurrences in that parish and for the upholding of the Teachings of Jesus Christ.  He and the former pastor argued, but Spiering stood his ground, stating that he would ban the former pastor from the parish if necessary.  He informed the family that he would be conducting the funeral.

Enter now the wimps of the local chancery.  Father Peterson, vicar general for the Diocese of Great Falls - Billings, conducted the service and allowed the ex-choir director to lead the singing.  He himself is a personal friend of the deceased woman's family, presumably including the gay "couple".  In other words, he undermined Father Spiering's authority in that situation.  He acknowledged Father Spiering's canonical rights, but said the actions weren't "pastoral".  Don't you just love that word "pastoral" and how it's used to justify all manners of disobedience to Our Lord?

The New Ways screed closes by stating that "Father Spierling's minsterial competencies and role in active ministry should be questioned".  The fact is that New Ways Ministry is steeped in dissent from the Teachings of the Church.  As far as "ministerial competencies" are concerned, New Ways simply doesn't know apple butter from cow pie.  That won't stop them from calling the diocese and screeching at them to remove Father Spierling - much like they did to Father Marcel Guarnizo of my own parish four years ago.

Just as I suggested yesterday that we support Father Mann, so too must we support Father Spierling.  Many of my readers will recall the similarities between these two cases and what happened to Father Guarnizo.  Please - we must raise our own voices in defense of good priests.  Here is the contact information for the Diocese of Great Falls - Billings, headed by Bishop Michael Warfel.

Please spread the word.

From The Maturation Department - Scandal At The World Meeting Of Families

About 2.5 months ago, Lepanto Institute alerted us to the fact that a lesbian activist would be in a key role in deciding what entities would be allowed to set up exhibits at the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia next month.  We also learned at about the same time that Philadelphia Archbishop Chaput said that "non-traditional families" would be welcomed at the meeting.  My blog post at that time gives more details.  At this time I have received no indication that these two matters have been rectified.  I must assume that they haven't.

Lepanto Institute has once again done stellar work in exposing a more significant scandal, one that centers around the president of the World Meeting of Families, Robert Ciaruffoli.  Over the years he has made contributions to various pro-abortion candidates for political office, including to the campaign of a former Planned Parenthood director.  See the above link for more details.

Now you might wonder about the "maturation department" reference in this post's title.  Recall that after last October's extraordinary sin-nod, Pope Francis said that we had a year to "mature" in preparation for this upcoming ordinary sin-nod.  Almost immediately a barrage of meetings, pronouncements, appointments and firings etc occurred, all with the theme of undermining the Church's teachings on family and life.  I firmly believe that the retention of the dissidents in the structure of the World Meeting of Families is part and parcel of this "maturation".

One of these "appointments" is Archbishop Blaise Cupich of Chicago.  He was dissident when he was Bishop of Spokane and then was appointed to Chicago by the Pope.  Last Sunday he was invested with the pallium at Mass.  He preached on the family at Mass, saying that "we must not settle for solutions that no longer work".  Given past history we can surmise his meaning.  Yes, that link is to the New Ways Ministry blog, and they in turn link to the entire homily.  It is a sad day for the Church when an organization that foments mortal sin waxes lyrical about the preaching of an errant bishop.  By the way, the pallium signifies unity with the pope.  Regrettably this union is real.

I suppose because the sin-nod is less than two months away, that all stops will be pulled in last-minute "maturation" measures.

Feminism In The Washington Archdiocese Chancery - Why Sister Jeannine Gramick Has Free Rein Here

My fellow Catholics of the Archdiocese of Washington, as you listen to the definition of feminism as being the abandonment of true masculinity by men, you cannot help but recognize this stench in what has proceeded from the DC chancery these many years.  When priests have had the courage to defend the faith like men (not only Father Guarnizo but other priests whom I cannot mention lest they suffer even more repercussions), the chancery - from the very top - drove them away to maintain the facade of the "church of nice".  Below the video I will delve more into the latest scandal from Sr. Jeannine Gramick.

Sister Jeannine Gramick is a co-founder of New Ways Minstry, a dissident "katholyc" organization founded expressly to flout the Church's teachings on homosexual conduct.  There was another co-founder, the late Father Robert Nugent.  The tribute to him mentioned that he ceased involvement with New Ways in obedience to directives he received in 2000.  Not mentioned is that Sister also received those directives but continues her involvement in direct disobedience to the Church.

I have a friend in local pro-life circles who maintained that Sister opposed abortion.  I hope she is now aware of the truth regarding Sister Jeannine and abortion.  On May 14 she joined others in signing a letter asking Obama to expand overseas abortion; the letter is HERE.  So there it is: prima facie evidence that Sister Jeannine Gramick supports the murder of unborn babies.  How can there be any doubt that New Ways Ministry isn't so influenced?  She signed as "coordinator for National Coalition of American Nuns"; they must be similarly corrupt as well.

New Ways is located in Mount Rainier, MD.  That means Sister Jeannine lives in the Archdiocese of Washington.  Granted this letter was just announced, but should we not expect a prompt response - in terms of appropriate discipline - from the DC chancery?  We might - if this was the Diocese of Springfield IL, but sadly not, coming from that agency of the "church of nice".  But perhaps I'm too cynical.  With prayer, we might see a miracle and see authentic masculinity return to the DC chancery.

Sodomy In The Catholic Church

Oh, yes.  No one can doubt that - not even the progressives, if they're honest.  They love to hoot and holler about the clergy sex abuse scandals.  Most of them, however, gloss over one glaring detail.  Most of the victims have been post-pubescent boys.  That means the perpetrators have been sodomite priests.  Let's not pussy-foot the language here.

In today's Vortex, Michael Voris takes on this issue.  At about the 2:26 mark he mentions the New Ways Ministry as being a cesspool of the gay poison in the Church.  It is, AND it is headquartered within the Archdiocese of Washington - Mount Rainier, MD to be precise.  Pray that our bishops heed these words from the Vortex.

New Ways Ministry Founder Dies

(ht - Pewsitter)

Father Robert Nugent, co-founder of New Ways Minstry, passed away January 1st.  He and Sister Jeannine Gramick designed New Ways to undermine the Church's teachings regarding homosexual conduct.  New Ways has always been headquartered in Prince Georges' County in Maryland.

Father Nugent consulted with the USCCB as the latter wrote the pastoral document "Always Our Children".  That explains a lot.  Later then-Cardinal Ratzinger barred both Nugent and Gramick from working with gays.  Nugent, for the most part, complied while Gramick - to this day - defies that directive.

May God have mercy on his soul.

Last Week's New Ways Dissent-Fest

I direct your attention to the New Ways blog's own article on the event last week.  The title of the post seems to be based on a sentence in Barbara Johnson's address to the meeting, "All that matters is love".  Doesn't it have a ring of the old Beatles song "All You Need Is Love"?  Shades of the 1960s' hippie-dom!

The article has so many errors in it that there won't be space enough here to touch on them.  Notice the second paragraph where DeBernardo claims that Johnson was the victim of "liturgical abuse".  He has it precisely ass-backwards.  It was Johnson who was trying to force Father Guarnizo into committing liturgical abuse by facilitating her sacrilegious Holy Communion.  Of course he stood firm and tried to prevent it (I say "tried to" because she committed it anyway by going to the Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, who was unaware of her status).

Then there's this erroneous notion of "love" that was bandied about at that meeting.  They seem to confuse it with a blind passive acquiescence to any violation of God's laws regarding life and its generation.  If God is love, how can blatant violations of His laws be countenanced "in the name of love" - except that such a notion of "love" be counterfeit?

Pray for all these people.  They have been blinded by a myriad of devilish lies.  And yes, please pray for her deceased parents as well.

A Tale Of Two Barbaras

It appears that there are two Barbara Johnsons in Maryland - both lesbians and living in the DC metropolitan area.  We bloggers (of all viewpoints) seem to have been conflating the two.  This one from Metro Weekly, while speaking of the funeral incident, has as its second footnote an article that is really about the different Barbara Johnson.  Other blogs (including this one) have cited that article.

It's an article called "Still Laughing".  This article links a Barbara Johnson with a Kathleen DeBold.  Note that the article is written in 2005 and states their ages at that time to be 49 years.  Today in 2012, they'd be 56 years old.  There is a picture of them that suggests that this Barbara Johnson has long blond hair.   This article from QNotes has the same picture, and it confirms who in fact that Barbara Johnson is.  The article seems to intimate that this is the Barbara Johnson who wrote the lesbian-oriented books.  This Barbara Johnson is not the same one who was at St John Neumann Church last month.

Here is an obituary of the deceased parishioner of St John Neumann.  Note that it links her daughter Barbara with a Ruth Gresser.  We've also seen numerous interviews and such that state her current age to be 51 years old - that is, 5 years younger than the other Barbara.  Moreover, this coverage on the March 17th New Ways Dissent Fest Symposium makes plain that the woman who blocked Father Guarnizo in the sacristy is Ruth Gresser.  The next post will deal with that symposium as its own topic.

Guess Who Was At The New Ways Conference In Baltimore Yesterday?

"New Ways Ministry" is an organization of dissident Catholics based in Mt Rainer, MD (Prince George's County).  They had a conference in Baltimore yesterday.  Scheduled to appear (according to the Baltimore Sun were:

  • Governor Martin O'Malley, who signed the "gay marriage" legislation in Maryland, which we will be bringing to the ballot
  • Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, former Lt Governor of MD.  She wrote a book called "Failing America's Faithful: How Today's Churches Are Mixing God with Politics and Losing Their Way".  I'll speak more on this book later.
  • Last but not least (drum roll, please) - Barbara Johnson!  Gee-willikers!  I assume she's removed the Buddhist hat and put on the Catholic facade - not that it would make much difference with that crowd.
All of these people (not just the three cited above) are in deep need of prayer - and the medicinal remedies of Canon 915.  They are risking their eternal salvations by fostering mortal sin.

New Ways Ministry - An Old Dinosaur Sneezes

New Ways Ministries was one of those gadfly outfits that rose out of the stench of the so-called "spirit of Vatican II" in the 1970s.  Founded by Father Robert Nugent and Sister Jeannine Gramick, their self-styled "mission" was to be "a gay-positive ministry of advocacy and justice for LGBT Catholics.."  In 1984, the Vatican clamped down on this bunch and forced Nugent and Gramick to separate from New Ways.

Now what does this "mission" entail?  They certainly have published no works detailing how the LGBT-afflicted Catholic might be freed of his/her cross.  There have been no exhortations from New Ways urging them to live chaste lives according to the teaching of the Church (as does Courage, a truly worthwhile ministry).  No, they are about dissent and the promulgation of dissent.  Namely, they want all the Church to pretend that the gay lifestyle is just as acceptable as adherence to tradtional Church teaching.

They're headquartered in Prince George's County, MD - within the Archdiocese of Washington.  A few months ago, New Ways plopped one of their booklets upon the public at large entitled "Marriage Equality: A Positive Catholic Approach".  Of course the release of that booklet would coincide with the recent gay-marriage struggle that occurred in Annapolis.  Make no mistake - it was designed to obfuscate the Catholic voice in that struggle.

This past February, then-USCCB president Cardinal George issued a statement denouncing the position of New Ways on marriage as being at variance with the Catholic Church.  He went on to say that "in no manner is this organization authorized to speak on behalf of the Catholic Church or to identify itself as a Catholic organization."   On March 11th, two committee chairmen of the USCCB, including Washington's Cardinal Wuerl, issued a statement reaffirming that of Cardinal George's.

About five or so years ago, some of us picketed a meeting that New Ways conducted in Silver Spring.  There were only five of us picketing.  However, we outnumbered the meeting attendees!  It was a clear sign to us that these dissident groups are in their death throes.  However, just as a dying cockroach often flails its legs about in its final agony, these groups also let loose their sputters during their last gasps.

Baltimore Priests on New Ways Ministry Board

Thanks to the person who commented on the post regarding the bishops' rebuke of Gansler.  I would encourage one and all to examine the New Ways board.  In all fairness to Archbishop O'Brien, I do believe he may well be unaware of the doings of Fathers Muth and Thomas.

Look at the rest of that board.  Take Mrs Byers, for example.  Three of her seven children are gay.  That is to say that they are most likely engaging in practices that will endanger their immortal souls.  Well, golly-gee-whiz!  I thought a parent had a duty to facilitate their childrens' entrances into heaven, not the other place!  Will she hand them "rainbow fishpins" on the way down?

Father Thomas is the board chair.  Ostensibly he's "ministered" to gays and lesbians since 1974.  As in Mrs. Byer's case, I must ask to where is he leading those to whom he "ministers"?  If he is affirming their "gay identities", then he is failing them utterly.

I could go on and on, but time forbids me.  I do urge one and all to contact Archbishop O'Brien to advise him of this situation, which I suspect existed before he came to Baltimore.

By the way - if ever there was a "case in point" to illustrate the posting about modernism, this is it!

USCCB Tells New Ways Ministry "No Way!"

For this action on the part of the USCCB I am pleased.  New Ways Ministry has for too long led gay persons down the primrose path of self-destruction and perhaps damnation by encouraging them in their gay lifestyles.  They are based in Prince George's County, Maryland.  That is within the boundaries of the Archciocese of Washington.

They do seem to my perspective to be waning in influence.  I recall several years ago I led a picket of a meeting of theirs in Silver Spring; conducted at the offices of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas (those left-wingers do stick together, don't they?).  That occurred in 2005 during Lent.  There were 5 of us picketing.  Still, we outnumbered the New Ways meeting attendees.

The USCCB press release can be found here.  It reminds the Catholic population at large that New Ways has no authority from the bishops to speak on behalf of the Church.  Cardinal Hickey first announced that in 1984.  So why, oh why, did these nuns lend New Ways their office space for that meeting?   They cannot be trusted.
