From The Georgetown Follies Department: Georgetown Openly Advocates For Baby-Murder
Father Thomas Reese, SJ, was a former editor of the Jesuit screed-rag known as America. When Pope Benedict XVI ascended to the papal throne, one of his first accomplishments was the firing of Reese from his position. Sadly, that failed to improve the magazine; its current editor is Fr James Martin - but I digress. After his ouster, Reese joined some of his fellow Jesuit sewer rats inside the sewer called Georgetown, where he can be found today.
Exercising the finest intellectual prowess that Jesuits can muster these days, he announced that pro-lifers must consider voting for pro-abortion Democrats to reduce abortions. Yes, he said that. This was done partially to object to the President's recent defunding of Planned Parenthood. Can one imagine in the 1850s, that logic being used to fight slavery? I suppose the idea is that the Democrat's socialistic economic policies would reduce incentive for abortions. Leaving aside for the moment that socialism and income redistribution are themselves inherently evil, we cannot pretend that pro-abortion politicians have any interest in reducing abortions. They are in the pockets of Planned Parenthood and other baby-killers. One can suspect that Georgetown University is, too. One gets the impression that he's trying to stave off future pro-life efforts; perhaps we are getting under the skins of Georgetown's pro-abortion sugar-daddies. He can stuff a sock in it.
In a related story, we learn that Georgetown's Law School is urging its students to support not only Planned Parenthood, but NOW, NARAL and a whole host of other pro-aborts and pro-sodomite-perversion organizations. This news comes courtesy of TFP Student Action (an excellent organization, by the way). I'd urge you to support this effort of their's. The article links to Georgetown's "organizations you can support" page. Not surprisingly, Georgetown took down this page. HOWEVER, as we all should know, once something's on the internet, it never quite goes away, thanks to web-crawlers. One such site is wayback.com. So here is what wayback archived. Sure enough, there is the "mysteriously" missing page. In its NARAL blurb, Georgetown explicitly shills for a woman's "right" to murder her helpless baby. This sheds lots of light on the reasons behind Reese's sniveling. I shudder to think of what may be happening in Georgetown's hospital: we know of at least one instance where they attempted to euthanize a woman.
Tell me again why they are still called "Catholic"? Oh yes, lots of money brings that about.

Open Letter To Cardinal Wuerl Regarding Georgetown University's Latest Betrayal Of The Faith
Regrettably this is merely the latest of many insults to the Faith that have been proffered by Georgetown over the years. Nearly four years ago they invited pro-abortion Kathleen Sebelius to deliver one of the commencement addresses. In 2013 their Law School sent students to intern with National Women's Law Center, an abortion advocacy organization. Theology professors there spout new age heresies non-stop.
We could go on and on with that list but I'm sure you don't have the time to read the entire litany of Georgetown-originated travesties. Suffice it to say that if immediate action isn't taken, that litany will increase in length.
While it's true that Georgetown is controlled by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), you, as the bishop of the area in which they are located, do have power and authority to take some corrective action. Specifically, you have the ability to strip them of their affiliation with the Church. Such actions have been taken by your fellow bishops in the past. As recently as 2010, Bishop Thomas Olmsted stripped St. Joseph Hospital's Catholic affiliation when the hospital performed an abortion. In 2003 and 2005, the Archbishop of New York stripped Catholic affiliation from two universities for hosting pro-abortion politicians..
In the face of very public criticism of their invitation to Richards, Georgetown University is adamantly refusing to reconsider. Because of their disgraceful past and their ongoing disregard for the Catholic faith, we ask you, Your Eminence, to strip Georgetown University of its official affiliation with the Catholic Church. Such a move appears necessary for the eternal salvation of all concerned; that includes the Georgetown leadership and Cecile Richards herself.
Thank you for your consideration.

More On The Richards Debacle At Georgetown
One of the Georgetown Right to Life members attended the thing and tweeted as she listened. So some of the deep, dark secret proceedings of the event are now known. See here for some more tweets. Richard put down the video exposes of the Center for Medical Progress. Poor dear! She probably feels that her income from the murders of babies might dry up as a result of the truth being told. The tweeting student also exposed the Georgetown Lecture Funds as pro-abortion hacks. Apparently the leader of that bunch claimed that "god is pro-choice". Either she blasphemed the One True God or the "god" she worships is a blood-sucking demon. See here for the information on this lecture fund.
An article from Prison Planet details the treatment that both pro-life activists and the media received at the hands of Georgetown staff. Again, one wonders of what they were afraid. I for one think they resented us rebuking them as they once again played the prostitute before the Culture of Death and its agents. Pay close attention to that last video at the bottom, where the pro-life woman (a friend of mine, by the way) is finding herself stifled, much as I was. At 1:09, note the woman at the extreme left, in the background. This is the same woman who shooed me into the "protest pen", stating that I couldn't distribute the flyer that you saw on my post yesterday. I also couldn't help but notice the two other police officers in the background. Either they really saw one woman with an "offensive" banner as a dire threat or they were all extremely bored. Either way it's a disgrace that Cecile Richards was granted a forum in which she could legitimize herself and her murderous organization while those proclaiming Christ's teachings were stifled on an ostensibly Catholic campus.
As I said in my flyer, the Richards debacle was by no means the first time that Georgetown prostituted itself before the culture of death. It won't be the last, either.

Today Georgetown Was Rebuked
The first one was outside Lohrfink Auditorium itself. Because I had to spend some time to find a parking place, I arrived there about 12:40 pm. I could see that the Students for Life contingent was penned in an area where they could be seen from the attendees at a distance but there was no chance for interaction between those going into the talk and the pro-life activists. I stood at the bottom of the steps and distributed my flyer (see right) - for as long as I was permitted. After about 30 minutes a woman who identified herself to me as "Dean of Student Affairs" marched herself downstairs and ushered me to the "protest pen" (for lack of a better word). Frankly I suspect the cause of this move is because my flyer did directly rebuke Georgetown for bringing Richards to campus. I was able to distribute about 25 of them before I was effectively stifled. I decided not to protest the move since I do respect the fact that Georgetown is private property. Still, I find it fascinating that a woman who makes her living, at least in part, from the murders of babies is allowed to speak on campus but pro-life activists are penned off as though they pose dire threats to the students.
After about 20 minutes or so in "the pen", I left there and headed east through the campus to where I was parked. As I walked east, I continued to distribute flyers to students passing by me. I then reached the eastern part of campus when I heard bagpipes. I knew then that the American Society for Tradition, Family and Property was at the O Street entrance - where they were when we protested the appearance of Kathleen Sebelius four years ago. Today the American TFP roundly rebuked Georgetown. You'll hear it in the video below.
I know that Defend Life staged a protest along M Street; about 15 people held a "life chain" with signs to explain why Richard's appearance was such an atrocity. I was unable to get down there but I await a report as to how that went. Now here's the video of American TFP.

Georgetown University Medical Center - Starving & Dehydrating A Woman To Death!!!!
Facing the principled opposition from the woman's children in their attempt to murder her, Georgetown sought appointment of a guardian to "make decisions that the family would not make." The lap-dog courts happily obliged, and on Feb 19th the tube was removed. Yes, a true family would not make that decision, being bound not only by familial love, but also the 4th and 5th Commandments. They shouldn't. Neither should a Catholic hospital that pretends to call itself "Catholic".
First Things commented on the situation. They illustrated how the family was railroaded by the legal system. In short, an attorney appointed to their case had been recommended by another attorney who was paid by Georgetown. That's called "conflict of interest".
Here is what this court-appointed attorney, who is charged with guarding the interests of her ward, the patient, had to say: “Hospitals cannot afford to allow families the time to work through their grieving process by allowing the relatives to remain hospitalized until the family reaches the acceptance stage, if that ever happens,” Ms. Sloan said in an e-mail. “Generically speaking, what gives any one family or person the right to control so many scarce health care resources in a situation where the prognosis is poor, and to the detriment of others who may actually benefit from them?” To me, it sounds like she's speaking on behalf of Georgetown, and not her ward!
At this time, Ms. Nyirahabiyambere is in a hospice in Millersville. She may be beyond rescue after two weeks of no food nor water. However, this matter cannot go to the grave with her. Some things must happen, and must happen NOW.
My colleague at Les Femmes has also posted on this deplorable manner. At the bottom of her post, she includes contact information for both the Archdiocese of Washington and Georgetown Hospital. While I think it's a great idea to contact the Archdiocesan pro-life office, it's Cardinal Wuerl who will have to step up to the plate. Urge him to follow the example of Bishop Olmsted, who dealt with a similar situation when St Joseph's Hospital authorized and performed an abortion.
I'd also contact the USCCB. As much as they ballyhoo about justice for immigrants, here's a chance to put their money where their mouth is. We have here a true case of brutal injustice being done to an immigrant family by corrupt lawyers who have all the appearance of being in bed with Georgetown Medical Center. As a result, a woman is being brutally murdered. Please contact the USCCB's Migration and Refuge Services offices. The name of the Executive Director is Johnny Young.

Georgetown's Pathetic Attempt At Damage Control
A note to the Georgetown administration. As complaints increase and donations decrease, understand that you can stave off disasters on many fronts simply by rescinding your invitation to So-bilious. If this atrocity is allowed to occur, there will be protests. Please do the right thing, find your Catholic consciences and spines, remember that you are sons of St Ignatius Loyola (not Robert Drinan) and keep Kathleen So-bilious from besmirching Georgetown University. Once Georgetown was a fine institution of Catholic higher learning. Decisions of the past several years have caused a precipitous decline in Georgetown. Please reverse that trend and don't plunge Georgetown further down the toilet on May 18th.

SEIU-Thug Chieftan Joins Georgetown Public Policy Institute
What happened in May was nothing less than thuggish, mob-like terrorism. Yes, I'll use that word! I've no bones stating that SEIU are thugs and perhaps even terrorists. Hey - if it looks and acts like a duck, it's probably a duck!
To this day, no one at the SEIU has issued any kind of apology or repudiation of that action. They apparently embrace and support that action, as they have given no evidence to the contrary. Dare I say that even the upper management of the SEIU are thugs since they seem to inculcate such behavior of their underlings?
Yesterday we received word that Andy Stern, past president of the SEIU, will join the Georgetown Public Policy Institute as a senior research fellow beginning August 1st. In the words of Georgetown's press release, Stern "will conduct and coordinate research efforts on a number of social policy issues, including wage reform, labor policy, and retirement security. He also will engage with the Georgetown community of students, faculty and alumni in a variety of ways, through guest lectures, workshops, and public events."
"Public events"? Just what kind of "public events" might they have in mind? Do they entail maurauding all over people's private property and terrorizing their children? How about mob intimidation of those attending rallies, such as Tea Party gatherings? Clearly Stern and his SEIU have some peculiar ideas of "social policy issues."
With this, the muslimization of Georgetown Hospital chapel and the debauchery at Santa Clara University (both blogged earlier this week), I'd say we have yet more evidence that the Jesuit order, as a whole, is a bit of a problem for the Church.
By the way - hats off to Pewsitter for the tip.

Georgetown U - A Scandal A Minute
Georgetown University's part-time employees are unionized now. "Under which union?" you ask with bated breath. But knowing Georgetown, do we really need to ask that question? It's SEIU, of course! I've written quite a bit about SEIU, its disgusting doings and equally disgusting ties to Catholic institutions; here is a smattering of those posts.
What is disappointing, but not at all surprising, is the cooperation that the union organizers received from the administration at Georgetown. I would be surprised that Georgetown still retains its status as a Catholic institution, if it weren't located within the bounds of the Archdiocese of Washington.

The Latest Two Scandals From Georgetown University
From the Cardinal Newman Society we learn that a class at the Georgetown Law School will have its students interning with a pro-abortion advocacy group. The professor for that class is Kelli Garcia, who happens to be senior counsel for the National Women's Law Center. The NWLC has also tasked Garcia with overseeing "the Center's efforts to address religious restrictions on women's access to reproductive health services, including its work with hospital mergers and crisis pregnancy centers". By the way - that last link is from Georgetown's site, not NWLC. Well we all know what the pro-aborts are trying to do with pregnancy centers, right? (One of the main purposes to the MD-NARAL bash was to raise funds to cripple pro-life pregnancy aid centers. But I digress.) Read her biography on the NWLC site, along with her blog pieces; one bemoans the pro-life victory in Texas - this from a professor at an ostensibly Catholic institution. The students will have the "opportunity" to participate in meetings and conferences between NWLC and "partnering organizations". Will these students be endeavoring to endanger more unborn babies?
Scandal #2
(HT to Pewsitter) Hoyas for Choice has announced a (drums and trumpets, please!) a "condom delivery service". Their "mission" (using that term loosely) is to "make condoms more accessible to Georgetown students at parties". These things would be ordered by the host of the party and most likely would be placed in a bowl. I wonder if it's set with the chips and salsa or with that unmarked keg? Of course the Georgetown administration is wimping out, ostensibly because Hoyas for Choice does not utilize campus funds. If any of these orgies are being held on campus grounds, why should that matter a whit? Either the administration is a pack of wimp OR they actually approve. I think it's the latter case, particularly given what kinds of professors they allow into their classrooms (see scandal #1 above).
I hope Mr. Blattney's suit moves forward with all alacrity.

TFP Student Action Protested Appearance Of Father James Martin At Georgetown November 6
Once again the fine gentlemen of TFP Student Action spoke against dissidence and corruption, this time at Georgetown University. Father James Martin, a sin-coddling cleric, gave an address at Georgetown. Accordingly, the Catholic men of TFP Student Action protested the honoring of an obviously disobedient priest.
They prayed the Rosary and offered witness against the travesty about to occur. This was not the first time that a prayerful protest at the Healy Gates of Georgetown was conducted by the TFP; I myself have joined them several times before this. My one regret about this protest is that I didn't learn of it until this evening; else, I would have broadcast this far and wide to call other Catholics to join them.
I post the video below. Note that towards the end some of the confused students snarled at the departing TFP men "don't come back". Sadly, with Georgetown's dissidence track record, it will be necessary for TFP and other good Catholics to return.

When Cardinal Hickey Crossed Swords With Georgetown University
First, Father Healy wondered "what happened" to the Church. Perhaps he was absent from that seminary class in moral theology when the Church's teachings on homosexual conduct were made plain. It could also be that his seminary education was so dumbed down that the Teachings of Jesus Christ were not communicated to him; if he attended a Jesuit seminary, that is entirely possible. At any rate, all he was being ordered to do was to be faithful to Christ's teachings: teachings that haven't changed during the past, nor will they ever change.
Father Healy has gone onto his reward (such as it may be), but one can well ask "what has happened to Georgetown" when one examines how they've bowed to the culture of death, as exemplified in previous blog posts, to wit:
- Georgetown Hospital attempting to dehydrate a patient to death
- The invitations to Kathleen Sebelius, Eleanor Holmes Norton, and Cecile Richards to address their students
- "Lavender graduations"
- Sending students to intern with abortion advocacy organizations
- The foregoing list is not exhaustive

Georgetown Personnel Lead New Pro-Gay Gaggle
A review of this website reveals their intentions to proseletize among college students. By the way, look at the right side bar, where one gets to "report anti-equality activity" at your parish. To all faithful Catholics and especially you priests, let's all strive to get "reported"!
Patrick Reilly, president of the Cardinal Newman Society, wrote a letter to Georgetown president John DiGioia asking him to assure that no employees of Georgetown University will participate in this organization. Please read Reilly's article on this matter. I might question why Father Palacios is retained by Georgetown at all, if the Metro Weekly article is correct.

Alert Catholics Force Correction Of Georgetown Abortion Scandal
They were caught conducting seminars on how to conduct "manual vacuum aspirations" - in other words, giving hands-on instructions in how to murder babies. They used fruit to simulate uteri.
I understand from Facebook contacts that Medical Students for Choice is no longer listed on Georgetown's site since this alarm went out. The Archdiocese of Washington played a pivotal role in correcting that scandal. Still, one must wonder MSFC was awarded its status in the first place. I've no doubt that had not TFP Student Action sounded the alarm, that MSFC would still be conducting baby-murder seminars on the Georgetown campus. This exemplifies both the need for each person to be alert and active and the benefit in so doing.

The Timidity Of Clergy - A Thin Disguise For Progressive Leanings?
The Messiah Most Miserable took the opportunity to take swipes at Christianity. The main theme of his nonsense is that we Christians should care less about abortion and more about poverty. Well, I have to hand it to him - he's fulfilling the role as Planned Parenthood lapdog perfectly. He also took jibes at families who send their children to private schools (Note! We wait with bated breath for the announcement that he'll soon withdraw his children from Sidwell!) Why? Well as you see in the link and its embedded video, these children start to develop (gasp!) an "anti-government ideology"! The horror! He continues, "and that, in part, contributes to the fact that there's less opportunity for our kids.." Our poor Dear Leader! He can't seem to make up his little mind! In another excerpt from the same gathering, he blames Fox News for the failed "war on poverty".
Now listen closely to this clip. Notice how he says that regarding poverty, "we'll have to change how the media reports on this issue.." Beg pardon! Leaving aside for the moment that most of the mainstream media is firmly ensconced in the progressive camp, just who is going to do this changing? Since most of the mainstream crowd is the de facto press office for the Dems, who are the others who will be targeted for such "change"? Would those targets include bloggers such as Yours Truly? The First Amendment has become, in the eyes of the Messiah Most Miserable, an inconvenience to be trashed. Political correctness stifles free speech everywhere, small Christian businesses are being ruined for not licking the boots of gay-rights tyrants, so why shouldn't "freedom of the press" be the next facet of the First Amendment to be jettisoned by these thugs?
Now onto another seemingly unrelated matter. There's a reason I put "seemingly" in italics; we'll get to that later. The Daily Caller reports that yesterday some bishops met behind closed doors with some US Senators to discuss the anticipated roll-out of the pope's environmental encyclical. That's odd, don't you think? Why, oh why, would Catholic bishops find it necessary to meet with elected officials to discuss the roll-out of any papal encyclical? Will there be some attempt to utilize the encyclical for envirowhacko legislation? My goodness! The timing of this meeting and the Georgetown gab-fest is so coincidental, don't you think? It's almost as if the bishops scurried to show the Messiah Most Miserable that they are willing to forget baby-murder for a while to and to embrace pet causes of the progressives.
I've noted that in other incidents, it appears that progressives within the Church seem emboldened in their efforts to turn the Church into a religous front for socialism. As you read the report from the envirowhacko meeting two weeks ago, you cannot help but notice the open call for population control, i.e., abortion, contraception and sterilization. I am one of a number of pro-life activists who have been fighting for an end to those aforementioned evils. Many of us have been baffled by the weak and often non-existent support from our Catholic clergy. To be fair, many good priests and bishops have stood with us and led the way; sadly they are the exception and not the rule. Many of us thought these clergy were just timid; and yet we've seen these same clergy pounce on their traditional-minded comrades with all the viciousness and efficiency that would have been the envy of Hitler and Stalin. Therefore I pose this question: Might the lack of clerical assistance and support with which we met over the years have been deliberate attempts to stymie our pro-life efforts? That's a question deserving of an honest answer.

An Exorcism For Georgetown?
In Blatty's words, the basis of the suit is Georgetown's "failure for more than two decades to comply with the requirements of Ex corde Ecclesiae". Apparently in 1991, canonical law proceedings were enough to make then Dean of Student Affairs Fr DeGoia rescind support and funding for a pro-abortion advocacy group on campus.
Blatty also urges all alumni to suspend any donations to Georgetown. I echo that call.

Kathleen Sebelius To Give Georgetown Commencement Address
Therefore I can only assume that Georgetown University is deliberately thumbing its nose at the Magisterium by extending an invitation to her to speak at the commencement of one of Georgetown's schools on Friday May 18th. The disgrace will occur at 11:00am at the Leavey Center Ballroom.
The Cardinal Newman Society has a link by which you may send a petition to protest this inappropriate invitation. You may sign it if you wish - or contact the Georgetown administration yourselves to protest.
Will we have to picket???

Georgetown University Scolds Catholic University - For Being Catholic!
Georgetown University proclaims "tolerance", you see? However, such lofty ideals fly right out the window when it comes to being authentically Catholic. The "katholycs" really get their undies bunched when another institute of Catholic learning repents of its own wayward ways and remembers its mission.
Recently, Catholic University abandoned its disastrous policy of coed dorms and has returned to the sane practice of single-sex dorms. The editors of Georgetown's Hoya are all in a snit-twitter about this. Read the rant yourselves. They say "coed dorms should not be up for debate in this day and age". My, my! Methinks the Hoya waxes a bit dogmatic and emphatic, wouldn't you say?? Can't you just feel the love, the tolerance, and all the good vibes?? Oh, wait! That's only if the idea in question has nothing to do with being a Catholic institution and faithful to the Magisterium?
Georgetown lauds its "gender-blind" policy. Well they get one thing right. It shows their blindness!

Picket Sebelius Appearance At Georgetown!
At 10:00am this Friday May 18th, we will be meeting at the entrance to Leavy Center (on Reservoir Road at 38th St) to advise attendees of the travesty that Sebelius's appearance is. Come join us to offer some authentic Catholic witness to the graduates and their guests.

Georgetown University Hosting Pro-Abortion Eleanor Holmes Norton
This week, with the March for Life going on, many bishops will wax lyrical about their desire to protect unborn children. For too many of them, that will be the only thing they utter all year with respect to abortion. We call upon our local bishop, Cardinal Wuerl, to strip Georgetown University of its designation as Catholic educational institution, for Georgetown has abandoned its Catholic soul many years ago.
