Father Peter Daly - Committing Assault?

The Association of United States Catholic Priests is an organized bunch of dissident priests.  Michael Hichborn of Lepanto Institute and others engaged in a protest of their annual meeting in Minneapolis last week.  The protest included not only a Rosary of reparation outside, but their own conference in the same hotel as the dissidents.  That led to some up-close confrontation with the AUSCP's evils.

Jim Hale is a correspondent for LifeSiteNews.  He filmed some of the meeting and was accosted by three priests from that bunch.  One of them went so far as to assault Hale.  That assailant is none other than Father Peter Daly, retired priest of the Archdiocese of Washington.  It's rather a pity that Hale decided not to press charges.

So here's the clip.  You'll notice that not one of these dissidents is wearing his clerics.  Some find it deplorable.  I for one appreciate that at least they are minimizing the disgrace to their roman collars by declining to wear them during their heretical gab-fest.

Catholic laity, again we have with these protesters some sterling examples of how to speak out for Holy Mother Church.

Gay Priest Retreat In Maryland This Coming April

Last week LifeSiteNews published an opinion piece entitled "Time For Bishops To Be Faithful And Shut Down Renegade Priests Who Champion Homosexuality".  A picture of Baltimore's Archbishop William Lori is at the top of the piece.  The reason for that is the scheduled "retreat" for gay priests that is slated to be held at Bon Secours Retreat Center in Marriottsville MD from April 12-14.   The retreat is being led by Fr Peter Daly and most likely Father James Martin will be in attendance.  Let's examine the pieces to this impending debacle.

Bon Secours is itself a dissident den of iniquity.  If the name sounds familiar to readers of this blog, that is because Bon Secours is where Gordon Creamer, gay-married parish council chair of St Ignatius Catholic Church, carries on with his so-called "spiritual direction".  St Ignatius is a parish in the Mount Vernon area of Baltimore City.  They openly flaunt their participation in Baltimore's "gay pride" parade/orgies.  I tried to engage the pastor about the matter, but oddly enough (cough!) he wasn't particularly interested in discussing the matter!  I submit that this pastor, along with Fr Joseph Muth of St Matthew's on Loch Raven Blvd are priests whom Lori should shut down.

Let's look at the retreat leader, Father Peter Daly, as I've written quite a bit about him, too.  In this anthology of posts, you see an account of his interactions with  young men struggling with same-sex attraction.  He admits to telling them that their disordered inclinations aren't disordered and that to act on them isn't sinful.  He pointed them straight towards hell and gave a nudge.  One can bet that is exactly what will happen in Marriottsville in two months.

Now let's look at the reactions of the two Maryland archbishops.  Archbishop Lori continues to turn a blind eye on both St Matthew's and St Ignatius.  Both are dens of gay perversions; there could be more.  These are the only two of which I'm aware at this time  Archbishop Gregory has actually shown himself to be an ally of proponents of gay perversions.  This past summer he openly praised Fortunate Familes duing one of his first "Theology on Tap" presentations.

Will they listen to our demands that they clean up their churches?  One language that they seem to understand is that of money - or more accurately, lack of donation money.  The DC archdiocese is gearing up for its Annual Appeal.  It used to be called the Archbishop's or Cardinal's Appeal (depending on rank of prelate).  They at least know that they cannot invoke the prelate to raise money, as our prelates of late have been, uh, "credibility-challenged" shall we say.  On the webpage they say that 60+ charities are supported via this collection.  Guess what?  You can support good charities directly, without the Archdiocese taking a cut of them.  Moreover, you'd be able to select the recipients of your hard-earned dollars.  Do NOT give one red penny to this or any other diocesan-wide collection.  They have proven over and over again to be unworthy recipients of donations and inept stewards to boot.  I don't know when the Baltimore campaign will happen, but that too should be boycotted until Archbishop Lori disinfects St Matthew's and St Ignatius AND quashes this upcoming "retreat".

Catholic Pastor In Southern Maryland Publicly Condones Homosexual Acts

We rightly warn of wolves in sheep's clothing.  True enough, but there is a greater danger - wolves in shepherd's clothing!  Can this describe Father Peter Daly, pastor of St. John Vianney Parish in Prince Frederick Maryland?  His own words have made plain that his influence is a danger to those placed in his care.

The Not-At-All Catholic Reporter published an article of Father's, entitled, "Catholic Church Should Support Boy Scouts' Decision on Sexual Orientation".  The first part of the article is a lame attempt to cajole us into thinking that the Boy Scouts will remain the healthy, morally-straight organization that it once was.  After all that meandering, Father lets loose with can only be called moral poison.  I will quote the pertinent segment below, leaving out only the paragraph breaks.

"Three times in my 27 years as a priest, I have had to sit across the room from young men who tried to commit suicide because they were gay. Three times, I have heard their anguish as they told me that their church regarded them as "intrinsically disordered" and their love as seriously immoral. Three times I have had to hear them say that part of the reason for their despair was our preaching.  Conservative Catholic theologians would no doubt demand that I condemn all homosexual acts as immoral. They would want pastors to insist that all gay boys must learn to carry their unique cross of perpetual life-long chastity, a burden we would never dream of imposing on heterosexuals. They would want me to say that all gay acts are evil and all inclinations are intrinsically disordered.  Well, let them say it. Let them say it to those boys who tried to commit suicide. Let them say it to the frightened little Scout who is still figuring out himself."

Let's unpack this mess, shall we?  We'll do this, "bullet style".
  • Three times, I have heard their anguish as they told me that their church regarded them as "intrinsically disordered" and their love as seriously immoral.  Father, did you remind them that the Church doesn't consider them - as persons - disordered, but rather their homosexual inclinations?  Moreover, their "love" is not true love at all.  If you have confirmed any of them in their confusion, you have done them gross disservice and may well be confirming on the path to eternal perdition.
  • Conservative Catholic theologians would no doubt demand that I condemn all homosexual acts as immoral.  Well, not so much "conservative" as much as "Faithful to the moral teachings handed down by Jesus Christ Himself through the Church's teaching magisterium".  It's a mouthful, but we get the point.  And yes, Father!  It IS the teaching of Holy Mother Church that all homosexual ACTS are immoral.  Notice that it's the ACTS, not PERSONS, lest there be silly attempts to conflate the two.  You will not be permitted to get away with it!  At any rate, the "theologians" don't demand that you condemn these acts.  That charge is laid upon you by virtue of the Sacrament of Holy Orders.  You are called to proclaim the Gospel, to call sinners to repentance and to administer the Sacraments.  Without all these elements, the unfortunate homosexual will find him/herself bereft of the graces needed to conquer these disordered inclinations.  Father, knock off this politically correct schtick and administer some real help and compassion to these souls in your care.
  • They would want me to say that all gay acts are evil and all inclinations are intrinsically disordered.  Well, let them say it. Let them say it to those boys who tried to commit suicide. Let them say it to the frightened little Scout who is still figuring out himself.  There are four sentences here.  In the first sentence, let's substitute for the word "they" and rightly put in its place Jesus Christ Himself, for that is His teaching as revealed through His church.  So in the first sentence, Father properly states what is his solemn duty as an ordained Catholic priest.  In the following sentences, Father declares that he is abdicating his duty to proclaim the truth and to do all he can to save the immortal souls of those afflicted with homosexual inclinations.  God help him if he doesn't reconsider the error of his current disposition for in addition to his own salvation, he imperils that of many others in his path.
The Cardinal Newman Society points out that this is not the first time that Father has coddled those who engage in self-destructive behaviors.  This past year he gave scandal to gay students at Catholic University of America, instead of true compassion.

Of course all this begs the question, "Should Father Daly continue in his post while he is still of a mindset to lead confused souls to destruction?"   We should at least contact the Archdiocese of Washington and petition for his removal, if only for his own salvation.  The chancery has demonstrated its ability to move with extreme alacrity when it so desires; witness the speed with which they threw Father Marcel Guarnizo under the bus.  Granted, Father Guarnizo's case was a bit different.  Father Guarnizo acted in complete obedience to the Magisterium; he just happened to ruffle the feathers of the DC-area gay community and the latter simply got noisy.  Father Daly, on the other hand, is thumbing his nose at the Magisterium.  Will the DC chancery find the spinal fortitude and moral clarity to deal with him appropriately?

Why The Interest In Cardinal Wuerl's Living Arrangements?

Some have voiced concern that George Neumayr and others may be making "much ado about nothing" when it comes to Cardinal Wuerl's living quarters.  They ask why it's important.  For an answer, we'd have to ask Pope Francis himself for it is he who made quite clear his expectations for bishops to live simply.  Let us recall that he went so far as to remove German Bishop Franz-Peter Tebartz-van Elst, commonly known as the "bishop of bling".

Did other DC prelates live there?  At most, only Cardinals McCarrick and Hickey could have.  Why do I say that?  Well, the one preceding them was Cardinal Baum and apparently he was implicated in his own dust-up back in 1974, according to this Church Militant report.  The price that he paid back then was $525k, but that was 1974 dollars.  At any rate, he unloaded the place and took up residence in the rectory of St. Matthew's Cathedral.

But that was then and this is now.  As most readers know, I disagree with Pope Francis on many things.  However, no one can gainsay his authority over the bishops and how they are to conduct themselves.  Father Peter Daly, a priest of the Archdiocese of Washington (and I've written about him) is a fairly regular writer for the Not-At-All Catholic Reporter.  Two years ago he wrote a piece in which he excoriated the "bishop of bling" and other prelates who (in his judgment) weren't in compliance.  However, no mention is made in that piece of the situation of Cardinal Wuerl.  That's not so odd when one considers that he serves under Wuerl, but the double standard is still obvious.

I'll close this with a link to a piece written by Phil Lawler.  While he decries Neumayr for being "shrill" (I might be "shrill" if I were ejected by police on someone's whim), he does acknowledge that Neumayr, as a journalist has a right to ask questions of someone who is obviously a close ally of the pope and who wields much influence.  As quoted in my original post on this topic, Neumayr's requests for an interview have been stonewalled by the chancery and now he's being chased away by police at the apparent behest of Cardinal Wuerl.  A reasonable person could surmise that indeed there is something to hide.

Sin-Nod Emboldens Dissenters In Archdiocese Of Washington

When I use the word "dissenter" I mean those who willfully deviate from the Traditions of the Catholic Church as handed down through the centuries.  Two striking examples were made disgustingly evident today.

The first came from Cardinal Wuerl, in the publication of two interviews he gave after the sin-nod ended.  One was given to America magazine (and expounded upon by Vox Cantoris), the other was published by Religion News Service.  I am not going into a comprehensive analysis of these interviews, else we'd be here for hours.  It's clear that he is feeling emboldened by this pontificate to flaunt his liberalism with aplomb and impunity.  Vox Cantoris does an excellent job with the America interview.  I will touch on a few points.

In the America article, he says (among other things), "no longer is the framework of the Church’s pastoral response the code of canon law."  Dr. Edward Peters, a canon lawyer, refuted the Cardinal's erroneous premise that canon law was ever the framework of the Church's pastoral stances.  He also points out how canon law is founded upon revelation, including the Gospels.  We can see that the cardinal is trying to paint a picture in which the Church simply had things wrong during all those previous centuries, but now, under this pontificate, a new day has dawned!  Halleluiah!  I'm sure the Cardinal is rejoicing at that silly thought, for canon law ceased to be any sort of reference for him some time ago.  Recall how he maltreated Father Guarnizo three years ago when the latter upheld Canon 915 in an archdiocesan parish (happens to be mine).

In the Religion News Service interview, we see the quote, “The frame of reference is now going to be: ‘What does the gospel really say here?’ That’s our first task.”  Really?   The gospels quote Jesus as saying "if you love me you will keep my commandments".  Jesus then commissioned the Church to teach His commandments to all.  The head-scratcher about Wuerl's comment is the word "now".  God's commands have always been the frame of reference for the Church.  Why the usage of this word "now"?  What meaning is that intended to convey?

Later on he says, "I’ve had priests say to me that the pope is really just affirming what most of us know in our hearts we are supposed to be doing anyway."  I'm sure that there are lots of archdiocesan priests who are also dissidents, who have off-kilter ideas of what they "are supposed to be doing".

That brings us to our second striking example.  I can easily imagine Father Peter Daly having such a chat with Cardinal Wuerl.  I've blogged on his progressivism in the past (see here and here).  He too gave an interview, this one to the Not-At-All Catholic Reporter.  He didn't touch on the sin-nod, but it is all too obvious that after the sin-nod, he is feeling his oats as he trumpets loudly his dissidence regarding homosexuality.  He praises the Obergefell ruling, as "making things better for our society".  He lauded the Maryland legislation legalizing same-sex #mowwidge, while most sensible Catholics strove to defeat it.

Get a load of this whopper of a quote.  "Same-sex marriage is a very conservative movement. Homosexual people who seek stable and committed relationships are implicitly declaring their opposition to promiscuous, violent, or exploitive sex. Like heterosexual couples they seek faithful relationships based on real love."  I scarcely know where to begin with this.  I think I have to start with the last sentence and work backwards, starting with the concept of "real love".  First and foremost, love must be founded on God's commands, and one of those commands forbids homosexual conduct.  Anything involving said activity is NOT love, pretenses notwithstanding.  For that reason, there is no way such a relationship can be considered stable, since there is no real foundation in God's order.  As far as it being "very conservative", I think many gays would take that remark as an insult.  Now consider he's a priest.  What kind of teaching about marriage did he receive in the seminary?

Now he admits his dissent and he arrogantly announces his intent to drag his parish into a spiritual and moral cesspool that may very well terminate in hell for some of his flock AND himself.  "As long as I am pastor here we will welcome and register everyone who shares our Catholic faith, including same-sex couples. After all, we register divorced and remarried people. We will educate their children in our religious education programs, and we welcome them as sponsors at baptism and confirmation. We open our ministries to them. We will allow them to teach religious education so long as they are respectful of the church teaching. (That we require of everyone.) We will encourage them to participate fully in the life of the church, including the Eucharist. We will treat everyone with respect and dignity. We will allow them the right of their own conscience."  If the parish is going to educate the children of these same-sex couples, just what do they intend to teach them about marriage and God's commands?  Will they teach the truth or some hell-oriented lie?  As far as being sponsors at baptism and confirmation, that is not an honorary role but one in which said sponsor must live out God's commands, including those pertaining to sexuality.  I could go on and on about all the errors in this paragraph, errors that are simply inexcusable for someone who calls himself "priest".

Lastly he announces his intent to allow the sin of sacrilege to be committed against Our Lord Himself in the Blessed Sacrament.  For all the lip-service he bestows on "respect and dignity", why doesn't Daly direct a little of that to Jesus, whose priest he's supposed to be?

He is long-time pastor of St John Vianney parish in Prince Frederick MD.  His article makes evident that while he retains his post, those parishioners will find their immortal souls in grave danger of damnation - unless they learn and embrace the Faith despite his machinations.  Yet Cardinal Wuerl allows Daly to carry on because they are of the same mind.  Did I say "allow"?  Not only that, the Cardinal probably applauds this heretic priest.   Consider this; under Cardinal Wuerl this heretic is allowed to retain his pastorate while Father Guarnizo is expelled precisely because he was a faithful and orthodox priest.

Ladies and gentlemen, the sin-nod ended less than two weeks ago and already the spiritual poison is spewing forth.  Of course I do live in a diocese in which one of the sin-nod's chief rainmakers holds sway so we can expect some severely noxious bilge to make its presence known here.  It will have impact everywhere.  Please pray and frequent the sacraments.

The DACA Drivel Of The Archdiocese Of Washington

Once again I missed an issue of the Catholic Standard.  Owing to some pressing personal matters, I didn't realize it until I saw it in the lobby of Blessed Sacrament (DC) this weekend.  When I saw page 3, I understood why it might have been omitted from my mail.  It was all about DACA and that insipid telephone campaign of the USCCB to beg Congress to extend de facto amnesty to the so-called "Dreamers".  The online version didn't have that precise article but here is an online article along a similar bent.  For more articles, search "DACA" on the Standard's website.

Several months ago I wrote a post explaining why I believe that support of illegal immigration is inherently sinful.  I still do.  For those reasons I believe that the USCCB's "call-in" campaign was likewise inherently sinful, for the specific reasons stated in that post.  In that post I wrote "One troubling aspect about the hierarchy's embrace of progressive positions is that church authorities too often strike hands with politicians who foment the Culture of Death."  That happened at Blessed Sacrament earlier today, as I learned in its bulletin yesterday.  The only difference is that this time it was not an errant politician, but an errant priest.

Go to page 3 of the linked bulletin, bottom left.  You'll see that this morning they hosted Father Peter Daly, former pastor of St. John Vianney from Prince Frederick, MD.  Because he's retired and no longer pollutes the pages of the Catholic Standard, I haven't had occasion lately to write about him, but in the past I sure did.  In one post, I commented on an article that he wrote for the Not-At-All Catholic Reporter, in which he publicly condoned homosexual acts.  This is the sort of person that Blessed Sacrament thought qualified to teach their parishioners.  They've hosted both Chris Matthews and Mark Shriver in prior years - appearances that we picketed.

Here's an oddity about Daly's selection as a speaker.  He lives in Prince Frederick Maryland.  That's southern Maryland.  Between that and Blessed Sacrament is a two-hour drive each way.  What?  Blessed Sacrament couldn't find a more local illegal-amnesty shill?  In loony-liberal Montgomery County, these people abound.  That truly puzzles me.  Why?

Homophile Priests Emboldened In Their Advocacy Of Mortal Sin

Sooner or later, for someone who has lost his/her faith in the One True God, hubris will win over any vestige of discretion.  We are seeing that unfold with the pope and other Vatican henchmen as their idolatry is visible for all the world to see.  Now we see it for Father James Martin in this revelatory tweet.

Yes, he is saying that the Bible, the Holy Word of God, is in error for calling the mortal sin of sodomy an actual sin.  Of course in so doing Martin is committing several objectively sinful acts himself - most likely mortal for he is not unaware of the gravity of them.

DC-area Catholics, please bear in mind that Archbishop Gregory holds this heretic in high esteem; he has clearly stated that several times.  Also, recall that while Wuerl ran the show here, he had Martin give the Good Friday homily at St Matthew's Cathedral in 2017.  I think we'd better be on alert and be prepared to picket/protest if/when he shows up at another local Catholic venue.

Speaking of priests cooperating in the mortal sin of sodomy, my blogging colleague at An Archdiocese of Washington Catholic has given us an update on Father Peter Daly - yes, him.  He has struck hands with New Way Ministries and is speaking at their "retreat".  In other words, he's going to urge people to continue sinning mortally.  He retired several years ago after being pastor of St John Vianney in Prince Frederick, MD.  Alas, he just can't stop using his Roman collar to lead souls to hell.  Let's pray that he repents before it's too late, for he is getting on in years.

I'll close this with a clip from LifeSiteNews providing more commentary on Martin's elevation of his warped theories above the Word of God.

Two ADW Priests Channeling Their Inner Andrew Greeleys

Two priests in the Archdiocese of Washington have collaborated on a theological dissertation.. No, wait, scrub that!  It's a murder mystery novel.  Knowing who the authors are, I suspect the book would be good for a paperweight and that's about it.  Who are these two priests?

Long-time readers of this blog will be familiar with the name of Father Peter Daly, pastor of St John Vianny in Prince Frederick, MD.  He is on record as disregarding the Church's teachings regarding homosexuality. Why he retains his position might constitute its own mystery novel.

The second author is Father John Myslinski.  During the autumn of 2002, he was pastor of St. Mary's Church in Rockville Maryland.  When the first 9-11 anniversary was approaching, he announced plans to commemorate it with a Mass.  He had retained two Catholic pro-abortion politicians to speak from the pulpit.  I do not recall if they were to speak during Mass or afterwards; either way was bad enough.  One of them was Connie Morella.  She was the US Congressperson for that district and she was Catholic; neither of them are currently true.  A number of us committed to a street protest at the church if that appearance wasn't cancelled.  We advised both the parish and the DC chancery of the same.  Wiser heads must have prevailed for Morella's appearance was indeed cancelled.

On the Amazon link at the top, you can take a peek at the forward.  That gives an idea of the flavor and progressive bias of the book.  It is a flavor that warrants a one-word response - BLECH!!!  One might hope it doesn't channel Greeley's stuff entirely; the latter was know to contain pornography.  So now in this "year of mercy" they are letting loose with screed that decries the "increasingly dysfunctional papacy of Benedict XVI" (some of the first words of the forward).  But of course the timing is just a coincidence, right?  Might we also assume that this kitty-litter is being released with the knowledge, if not approval, of Cardinal Wuerl?

What other goodies await us during this "year of mercy"?

A Silver Lining In The Corona Cloud

Last month I wrote of a retreat for gay priests scheduled for April 14-16 at the Bon Secours Retreat Center in Marriottsville, MD.  It was to be led by Father Peter Daly and was supported by Father James Martin - two perversion promoters if ever they existed.  The days were Tuesday to Thursday. Let's be honest.  We know what kind of, "sessions" would have been occurring on Tues and Wed evenings.

We tried to petition Archbishop Lori to take action against this raunch-fest, but he refused to utter a peep.  However, blessings can come from calamities.  From the website of Bon Secours we see that the CDC shut them down until May 10.  Moreover, if you go to my first post and click on the "scheduled retreat" link, you will notice that New Ways broke the link.  We can conclude that the retreat will not happen in April.

I suspect they will try to reschedule the thing.  We will alert you when we learn something.  Plans may be in the making to ask Archbishop Lori to exercise his authority with the Bon Secours staff and forestall any attempt to reschedule it.

Pope Francis - Not Quite The Liberal For Which Progressives Yearned

On the heels of all the ecstasy and euphoria flowing from all media outlets liberal comes the proverbial rain on their parade.  Thanks to Te Deum Laudamus, we learn that Pope Francis just defrocked and excommunicated a dissident priest in Melbourne Australia.

Greg Reynolds (formerly Father Reynolds) incurred these penalties for his support of "gay marriage" and "women priests".  It is believed that Reynolds is the first (former) priest to be so disciplined in Melbourne.

I've also learned that a Brazilian priest, Father Roberto Daniel, was excommunicated for his support of "open marriage" and homosexuality.  Moreover, while he was still Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Pope Francis had defrocked and excommunicated yet another gay-enabling priest, Jose Nicolas Alessio.

Please pray for these men, that they may repent for they have placed their souls in danger of hell.  Pray for all such dissident priests (that means you, Father Peter Daly of Prince Frederick MD!) that they wake up and repent, lest they come unprepared to their final day of reckoning.

Pervert Enablers Within The US Catholic Hierarchy

The Diocese of Jefferson City, MO is now allowing students who consider themselves "transgender" and those from "same-sex families" to enroll in the schools.  Bishop John Gaydos has cited Amoralis Lamentia as inspiration for the change.  This LifeSiteNews article links to the new policy, calling the sodomite situations "non-traditional families".  Of course they aren't true families, but occasions of mortal sin and spiritual destruction of the children.

Read over that policy.  Nowhere is there an acknowledgement of the inherent sinfulness of homosexual conduct, fornication, adultery.  On page 10 (reads as page 8) of the policy regarding "transgendered" kids, the policy states in section c-ii, "use of hormone therapies and/or gender reassignment surgery is typically not condoned at this developmental level".  Pray tell, what the hell does that mean???  Does it mean that there are other "developmental levels" when chemical and/or surgical mutilations are condoned by this diocese???  Nowhere in this policy is there any mention of proclaiming God's truth to these confused youngsters or to their errant parents.

The diocese had a meeting in which they trotted out this policy.  One good priest was having none of it.  This piece links to the dialogue.  I disagree with the priest in his belief that Pope Francis opposes this policy outright, but he is spot on with everything else.

Far from opposing the furtherance of perversion in the Church, the pope, by various appointments, makes no secret of his aim to normalize it within the Church.  The latest manifestation occurred just a few days ago when he appointed the gay-enabling Father John Dolan to be an auxiliary bishop for the Diocese of San Diego.  Recall that this diocese is already cursed with Bishop Robert McElroy, about whom I've written in the past.  While he's just absolutely delighted about Dolan's elevation, he has openly persecuted faithful priests who've had the temerity to write truthfully about Catholic morality, including the fact that it's sinful to vote for pro-abortion candidates.

Within the Archdiocese of New York (headed by Cardinal Dolan) the Church of the Blessed Sacrament is hosting a gay orgy under the auspices of a fund-raiser.  Read the details from Joseph Sciambra's site.  Here again we see the Commands of Jesus Christ being treated as a pile of dung.  Please let's not pretend that Cardinal Dolan doesn't know of this.  Of course he does.  At best, he doesn't care; I hope he doesn't openly applaud them..oh wait!  He applauded the gay group at St Francis Xavier a few years back, didn't he?

But let me end this post on a happy note.  We in the Archdiocese of Washington know of Father Peter Daly, pastor of St. John Vianny of Prince Frederick MD.  He has openly condoned homosexual conduct, going so far as to offer faulty counsel to gays who have come to him.  In the May 25 issue of the Catholic Standard, we see that he is retiring and will have no further pastoral authority.  His retirement will be effective July 12, 2017.  Let us pray that he will have no further contact with confused individuals and that he will use his time in retirement to seek God's forgiveness for his dissidence.

Catholic Standard - Gross Naivete About Ground Zero Mosque

That is what Father Peter J. Daly, pastor of St John Vianney Parish in Prince Frederick MD, displayed in his article in the September 2nd issue of the Catholic Standard.  Unfortunately (maybe deliberately??) that article is not on the Standard's website.  It's on page 12 is entitled "The Mosque Controversy".  The gist of the article is that Catholics who oppose this mosque should know better, since we were victims of persecution earlier in this country's history.
