Holy Father Appoints Replacement for Cardinal Mahoney

Let's welcome with joy and gratitude the news that Pope Benedict XVI has appointed a replacement for the rabidly-leftist Cardinal Mahoney.  Archbishop Jose Gomez, the coajuter bishop, will take over when Cardinal Mahoney reaches his 75th birthday, on February 27, 2011.  Read the Lifesite News account to get some sense of the contrast between the two men.

Among the bevy of insults to the Faith that occurred under Mahoney's watch was the so-called "Relgious Education Conference", that always featured dissidents of all stripes.  It might well have been dubbed "The Los Angeles SACRILEGIOUS Education Conference".  Below is a description, with clips of the one that ocurred this past March.

If it was an "education conference", Lord only knows what kind of slop comprised that "education".  The below shows the "closing liturgy".  The beginning, with the "liturgical dancers" (forbidden, by the way) seems to be performing some wiccan new-age incantation session, dancing about as they wave smoking incense bowls above their heads.  Then comes the "procession".  Since when are deacons ever accompanied by their wives?  One of the deacons (no spouse!) carries in the lectionary - holding it above his head and twirling about as he does so.



Now below is the Canon.  Never have I heard this particular language used in the Canon.  What is meant by "gather people of every race, language and way of life.."  Forgive my ignorance, but aren't some "ways of life" sinful?  I hear no clarification of that phrase.  We're sure you have noticed by now the unacceptable vessels used to contain the Consecrated Hosts and the Precious Blood.



If you right-click on one of the videos to watch it on youtube, you can see the entire 12-clip series.  Clips 11 and 12 are the closing.  Why does it take 2 10-minute clips?  Because the mistress of ceremonies producing this thing saw it necessary to try to "give credit" to all their workers - by name - and to call for applause and cheers.  Mind you, this is being done  before the dismissal - that is, during Mass!  Then the presiding bishop chimes in with a few of his own.  Then the bishop closes the Mass, the liturgical dancers start boogying in the aisles to murachi music

My friends at Orate Fratres did a report on it.  Please read it.  Please pray that this is the last debacle of its kind that will disgrace Los Angeles.  Moreover, let's pray for Archbishop Gomez, as he will have a herculean task before him as he attempts to clean the chancery of all the left-wing, pro-abort, ACORN-loving bureaucrats that will lurk in the hallways after Mahoney's departure.

Mahoney's Baloney

When asked in an interview if he agreed with his brother cardinal, Justin Rigali, that there should be language in the Obamacare bill that explicitly bans public funding of abortion, His Emminence gave an eloquent, stellar answer truly worthy of his faith. My paltry words cannot do it justice, so let this grace your ears!


C'mon, now! I didn't say this "faith" was the True Roman Catholic Faith now, right?

This is "way beyond his field"? Gee whiz! I thought the teaching of faith and morals was right smack-dab within the purview of a Prince of the Church.

The thinking (or lack thereof?) is interesting. Let's try that line of thought (using the term lightly) with another scenario.

Reporter: "Do you think there should be language in the bill that explicitly excludes funds for wife-beating?"
Mahoney: "This is way beyond my field (said dismissively). My field is immigration!"

Had that been the conversation, the hue and cry for his resignation would be deafening - and rightly so.

Doesn't this remind you of the ridiculous statement of the Messiah Most Miserable himself during his campaign? When pressed for his beliefs as to when life begins and thus is to be held inviolable from abortion, he said that "was above his pay grade."

"Way above my pay grade", "way beyond my field".. I accept and agree with these admissions of gross incompetence and the refusal to grasp even the most basic tenets of common sense. Now that these incompetents have admitted their unsuitability to their respective tasks, let us pray that they have the grace to resign their lofty positions, lest they wreck more havoc than they've already done.

You might recall that the event, "A Time To Stand", was announced for last Friday and Saturday in front of the Planned Parenthood at 16th and L Streets in Washington DC - just a few blocks north of the White House.  Its original intent was to protest the DC City Council's complicity with Planned Parenthood's arrogation of the public property in front of it.

Let us keep Archbishop Jose Gomez in our prayers as he will inheret the debacle left behind by this Prince of the Church.  He will need it to deal with the miscreants that will continue to lurk in that chancery.

Traitorous Catholics Colluding With Planned Parenthood

First, some good news.  Speaker John Boehner's "health policy adviser", Charlotte Ivancic, has "resigned".  Recall that she is a sister of Cate Dyer, owner and founder of Stem Express, a partner with Planned Parenthood in the trafficking of baby body parts.  I strongly suspect that because the soon-to-be-released 8th CMP video will implicate Dyer, that Boehner doesn't want that albatross around his neck.  Now let's see if he can gin up enough spine and testosterone to do the right thing and divest Planned Parenthood of our tax dollars.

Now the bad news.

Several years ago the Cardinal Newman Society did an expose of Catholic colleges with ties to Planned Parenthood.  These ties usually entailed:

• faculty who were also affiliated with Planned Parenthood or some other abortion racket
• students who did internships with abortion perpetrators
• pro-abortion student groups on campus

They revisited their research in the wake of the CMP videos and found that not much improvement had occurred.  This is detailed in a report issued on August 18th.  In it is listed numerous such association.  It seems that Georgetown University won the dubious distinction of having the greatest number of such association in the whole cabal of them.

Two days ago I blogged that the new headquarters for Planned Parenthood of DC was being built by a Catholic-owned construction company called Pizzano Contractors.  Further research revealed that Robert Pizzano Jr, the CEO for the company, founded a charity in honor of his late son who had developmental disabilities.  It's called the Joey Pizzano Memorial Fund.  We know that many unborn babies are murdered when it is determined that they are disabled.  Therefore, on one hand Pizzano is memorializing his disabled son while on the other hand is facilitating the murders of babies who are targeted because they are similar to Joey in terms of disabilities.  Do we see the double standard, the mental disconnect displayed by Pizzano?  Pray for Pizzano and the faculties of these Catholic schools that they may remember to Whom they must give an account at the end of their lives.

I post below some video that I found of the rally at the new Planned Parenthood place in NE Washington.  As you listen to Pat Mahoney telling people to look into the rooms, consider that these rooms are being refurbished by a Catholic to be murder chambers.

Fidel Castro Praises "Miracle" of Health Care Bill

Fidel Castro, Tinhorn-Tyrant Emeritus of Cuba, has praised the passage of the Hell Bill as "a miracle" and major victory for the Obama presidency.  I concur that the passage is a victory for the Obama presidency.  However, for the American people, it is an unprecedented disaster.  For a portent of what's to come, just witness all the Cubans who have been fleeing to Florida for decades.  If it's such a "people's paradise" over there, what with "free health care" and all, why have so many Cubans risked life and limb to flee to this backwards hinterland called the United States of America?

Reading further down the article, we read that Raul   Castro, that is, Tinhorn-Tyrant-in-Training, has warned that some of the "free goodies" that have been so graciously bestowed on Cuban citizenry are "no longer sustainable given Cuba's ever-struggling economy".   But as Margaret Thatcher, former British Prime Minister so aptly said,  "Socialist governments traditionally do make a financial mess. They [socialists] always run out of other people's money. It's quite a characteristic of them."

By the way - what's with all this "miracle" talk?  I thought the Communist creed was atheistic.  Since when is Castro waxing "religious" on us, all of the sudden?  Castro also took occasion to chide Obama on immigration reform and climate change.  Hey!  No problem!  The Obamaphiles are already on the job!  Check out the USCCB site.  They're already trying to brainwash us in the right direction.  We see that even today, Cardinal Mahoney of Los Angeles is saying a Mass for Immigrants downtown today, followed by a march (check out previous posts).  And what do we think the Lenten Carbon Fast was all about?

Common Ground With Pro-Abortion Supporters Is A Deadly Myth

I wrote several times in the past about the futility of seeking "common ground" with pro-abortion people and/or those who vote for pro-abortion politicians.  After a rather startling and distasteful exchange I had with someone (a former pro-life leader) on facebook a few days ago, I must now conclude that any attempt to seek such "common ground" will be fraught with great spiritual and intellectual peril.

The background is this.  A friend who is caring for a disabled relative complained of treatment that she received when she went about in public without a mask.  I will call her "Mary".  The former pro-life leader, whom I will call "Bill", lashed out at her with over-the-top venom and vitriol.  He accused Mary of "attacking her relative", about to "have his blood on her hands", etc.  I and a number of others took him to task.  Mary pulled down his remarks; I don't blame her a bit.  I remain flummoxed at the vehemence with which he addressed Mary simply because she didn't go along with being treated like a sheep.

As mentioned earlier, Bill was a pro-life leader several years ago.  He's since embraced some liberal causes and has voiced disappointment that other pro-life people, particularly those of us who remained on the front lines of activism, didn't follow his lead.  He made mention of trying to seek "common ground" with pro-abortion proponents.  A key problem with that ill-advised attempt is that it lends moral legitimacy to the pro-abortion position, a legitimacy that is completely erroneous in every way, rendering that attempt immoral on its face.  Moreover, I have seen other pro-life people, similarly deluded, befuddled in their thinking to such great extents that they now embrace inherently immoral positions.

Here is a perfect "case-in-point" to illustrate that danger.  There is an outfit called "Catholic Common Ground Initiative".  That link is to its website.  When I visit sites like this, I always examine its leadership and the people with whom they collaborate and/or honor.  Right away you'll notice that this cabal is the brainchild of Cardinal Bernardin.  Other notables who pollute(d) its leadership include Cardinals Gregory, Mahoney and Tobin, and honorees such as John Carr, Carolyn Woo, etc.  You get the picture.  You take up with dogs, you take up their manners.

The meme in this post is absolutely true.  That can be hard to acknowledge when the pro-abortion mentality is found amongst one's relatives and friends, but the truth must be faced.  We must treat them with respect and dignity, of course, but realize that they have embraced objective evil.  The Spiritual Works of Mercy include "instruct the ignorant" and "rebuke the sinner".  We want to see them attain heaven, and they can do so only by repentance and conversion.  Charity of the "tough love" variety may be in order.

Another USCCB Partnership with Pro-Abortion Groups

On March 21st (Saturday), Roger Cardinal Mahoney will be the principal celebrant at a Mass at St Aloysius Church to support "immigration reform".  Then the attendees are expected, uh, invited to participate in the "March for America: Change Takes Courage and Faith" shindig on the Mall.  I saw this in the parish bulletin today, which suggests a visit to http://www.justiceforimmigrants.org/ for further information.

That website is owned by the USCCB.  The march is being honchoed by many organizations.  Oddly enough (maybe not so oddly), the USCCB site seems to be rather cagey about divulging the names of its partners.  However, when I googled the march, I found one of the others' website.  That site is http://www.reformimmigrationforamerica.org/.  On that one appears a list of the usual suspects of organizations supporting baby murder and gay lifestyle.  Some are:

• AFL-CIO
• CASA de Maryland
• Center for American Progress
• La Raza
• Phoenix Progressive Democrats of America

You get the idea.  Once again, the USCCB makes no bones about its own left-wing procliviites. The "justice for immigrants" site should be renamed "injusticeforunbornimmigrants", as some of these organizations refer their clients to abortionists to "take care of their problems." 

The Suicidal Whining Of The #nevertrump Crowd

Some seriously individuals, deluded by their own frustrations, have decided to jump on a bandwagon with the hashtag #nevertrump.  I and others have commented on this mental disconnect.

With some variations, what we hear from them is this: "My favorite guy didn't win!  Therefore I will not vote or write my favorite in or otherwise waste my vote.  Who cares about the consequences?"  This is quite similar to the pouts we hear from small children: "I don't like things here so I'm going to take my toys and go home!  So there!"   In one Facebook discussion I asked why I'm not seeing any of the #nevertrump folks sport hashtags that say #neverhillary.  The response is rather telling:

Clearly we have a "cut off the nose to spite the face" mentality.  Not only are they refusing to bring logic and reason to bear on the matter, but they actually seem to hold logic and reason in disdain.

One individual on Facebook who is associated with a leading Catholic site, posted, "You know, I think I'm ok with Hillary for four years, if that means that the GOP gets its shit together."  Perhaps we can cut him some slack for he is Canadian, but a reasonable person will not be ok with Hillary in light of what I found on another Facebook post.  Here is a list of associates of the Clintons who, over the years, met with "untimely" deaths.  To wit:

1- James McDougal – Clintons convicted Whitewater partner died of an apparent heart attack, while in solitary confinement. He was a key witness in Ken Starr’s investigation.
2 – Mary Mahoney – A former White House intern was murdered July 1997 at a Starbucks Coffee Shop in Georgetown .. The murder happened just after she was to go public with her story of sexual harassment in the White House.
3 – Vince Foster – Former White House councilor, and colleague of Hillary Clinton at Little Rock’s Rose Law firm. Died of a gunshot wound to the head, ruled a suicide.
4 – Ron Brown – Secretary of Commerce and former DNC Chairman. Reported to have died by impact in a plane crash. A pathologist close to the investigation reported that there was a hole in the top of Brown’s skull resembling a gunshot wound. At the time of his death Brown was being investigated, and spoke publicly of his willingness to cut a deal with prosecutors. The rest of the people on the plane also died. A few days later the air Traffic controller committed suicide.
5 – C. Victor Raiser, II – Raiser, a major player in the Clinton fund raising organization died in a private plane crash in July 1992.
6 – Paul Tulley – Democratic National Committee Political Director found dead in a hotelroom in Little Rock , September 1992. Described by Clinton as a “dear friend and trusted advisor”.
7 – Ed Willey – Clinton fundraiser, found dead November 1993 deep in the woods in VA of a gunshot wound to the head. Ruled a suicide. Ed Willey died on the same day his wife Kathleen Willey claimed Bill Clinton groped her in the oval office in the White House. Ed Willey was involved in several Clinton fund raising events.
8 – Jerry Parks – Head of Clinton’s gubernatorial security team in Little Rock .. Gunned down in his car at a deserted intersection outside Little Rock Park’s son said his father was building a dossier on Clinton He allegedly threatened to reveal this information. After he died the files were mysteriously removed from his house.
9 – James Bunch – Died from a gunshot suicide. It was reported that he had a “Black Book” of people which contained names of influential people who visited prostitutes in Texas and Arkansas
10 – James Wilson – Was found dead in May 1993 from an apparent hanging suicide. He was reported to have ties to Whitewater..
11 – Kathy Ferguson – Ex-wife of Arkansas Trooper Danny Ferguson, was found dead in May 1994, in her living room with a gunshot to her head. It was ruled a suicide even though there were several packed suitcases, as if she were going somewhere. Danny Ferguson was a co-defendant along with Bill Clinton in the Paula Jones lawsuit Kathy Ferguson was a possible corroborating witness for Paula Jones.
12 – Bill Shelton – Arkansas State Trooper and fiancee of Kathy Ferguson. Critical of the suicide ruling of his fiancee, he was found dead in June, 1994 of a gunshot wound also ruled a suicide at the grave site of his fiancee.
13 – Gandy Baugh – Attorney for Clinton’s friend Dan Lassater, died by jumping out a window of a tall building January, 1994. His client was a convicted drug distributor.
14 – Florence Martin – Accountant & sub-contractor for the CIA, was related to the Barry Seal, Mena, Arkansas, airport drug smuggling case. He died of three gunshot wounds.
15 – Suzanne Coleman – Reportedly had an affair with Clinton when he was Arkansas Attorney General. Died of a gunshot wound to the back of the head, ruled a suicide. Was pregnant at the time of her death.
16 – Paula Grober – Clinton’s speech interpreter for the deaf from 1978 until her death December 9, 1992. She died in a one car accident.
17 – Danny Casolaro - Investigative reporter. Investigating MenaAirport and Arkansas Development Finance Authority. He slit his wrists, apparently, in the middle of his investigation.
18 – Paul Wilcher - Attorney investigating corruption at MenaAirport with Casolaro and the 1980 “October Surprise” was found dead on a toilet June 22, 1993, in his WashingtonDC apartment. Had delivered a report to Janet Reno 3 weeks before his death.
19 – Jon Parnell Walker – Whitewater investigator for Resolution Trust Corp. Jumped to his death from his Arlington , Virginia apartment balcony August 15, 1993. He was investigating the Morgan Guaranty scandal.
20 – Barbara Wise – Commerce Department staffer. Worked closely with Ron Brown and John Huang. Cause of death unknown. Died November 29, 1996. Her bruised, nude body was found locked in her office at the Department of Commerce.
21 – Charles Meissner – Assistant Secretary of Commerce who gave John Huang special security clearance, died shortly thereafter in a small plane crash.
22 – Dr. Stanley Heard – Chairman of the National Chiropractic Health Care Advisory Committee died with his attorney Steve Dickson in a small plane crash. Dr. Heard, in addition to serving on Clinton ‘s advisory council personally treated Clinton’s mother, stepfather and brother.
23 – Barry Seal – Drug running TWA pilot out of Mena Arkansas, death was no accident.
24 – Johnny Lawhorn, Jr. – Mechanic, found a check made out to Bill Clinton in the trunk of a car left at his repair shop. He was found dead after his car had hit a utility pole.
25 – Stanley Huggins – Investigated Madison Guaranty. His death was a purported suicide and his report was never released.
26 – Hershell Friday – Attorney and Clinton fundraiser died March 1, 1994, when his plane exploded.
27 – Kevin Ives & Don Henry – Known as “The boys on the track” case. Reports say the boys may have stumbled upon the Mena Arkansas airport drug operation. A controversial case, the initial report of death said, due to falling asleep on railroad tracks. Later reports claim the 2 boys had been slain before being placed on the tracks. Many linked to the case died before their testimony could come before a Grand Jury.

THE FOLLOWING PERSONS HAD INFORMATION ON THE IVES/HENRY CASE:
28 – Keith Coney – Died when his motorcycle slammed into the back of a truck, 7/88.
29 – Keith McMaskle – Died, stabbed 113 times, Nov, 1988
30 – Gregory Collins – Died from a gunshot wound January 1989.
31 – Jeff Rhodes – He was shot, mutilated and found burned in a trash dump in April 1989.
32 – James Milan – Found decapitated. However, the Coroner ruled his death was due to natural causes”.
33 – Jordan Kettleson – Was found shot to death in the front seat of his pickup truck in June 1990.
34 – Richard Winters – A suspect in the Ives/Henry deaths. He was killed in a set-up robbery July 1989.

That of course doesn't include the Benghazi Four, or the millions of dead babies whose murders were facilitated by both the Freedom of Choice Act and Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act that Bill Clinton signed.  Here's some more food for thought to illustrate why her presidency would be an unmitigated horror for the United States.

Trump, for all his admitted faults, has no dead people to his charge as do the Clintons.  In many ways he is a wild card, true.  But we know what Hillary would do, should she win.  To my #nevertrump friends: please cease immediately your petulant whining.  Ted Cruz (for whom I voted) is not the candidate.  Please put on the big boy/girl pants and work to deny Hillary the White House.

Freemasonry Infiltrated The Church Decades Ago - The Novus Ordo Mass Is Just One Result

I have known that for a while now, having read a bit about Freemasonry and how it insinuated itself into the Church over the past 100+ years.  LifeSiteNews published a report six weeks ago entitled "Is Masonic Infiltration Responsible For The Widespread Apostacy Among Catholic Clergy?"  That and more.  Anyone who is seriously concerned about the state of affairs in the Church (that should be everyone who calls themselves "Catholic") needs to read that report carefully.  It is long past the time when faithful Catholics can wear rose-colored glasses in regards to the quality of our clergy.  If such Catholics remain stubborn against calling a spade a spade, they will be held culpable of aiding great sin in the Church.

In this report, you'll see some background information regarding:

• Setting an arbitrary retirement age of 75 years for bishops, allowing Masonic Vatican officials to replace the retirees with their Masonic accomplices
• The placement of harmful prelates such as McCarrick, Mahoney, Brown, etc in their respective sees
• The assassination of Pope John Paul I
• The creation of the Novus Ordo Mass by the Mason Anabale Bugnini

The report, at the beginning, cites "Alta Vendita", where the plan for the ruin of the Church was laid out.  It is readily available for reading.  I'd suggest getting it from the Tan Books site.  As you read it, bear in mind that it was written over 100 years ago.  The authors knew that their plans would take decades to implement and that they wouldn't live to see them come to fruition.  But they advocated patience.  Now we may wonder, since they have come to their final end, what they think now - but I digress.

So what brought about this infiltration?  Obviously evil people have been trying to destroy the Church since Christ founded it Himself.  I cannot recall, though, when the evil inside the Church has had such an upper hand.  Perhaps this quote from Saint John Eudes might shed some light.  From his book, "The Priest: His Duties and Obligations"..The most evident mark of God’s anger and the most terrible castigation He can inflict upon the world are manifested when He permits His people to fall into the hands of clerics who are priests more in name than in deed, priests who practice the cruelty of ravening wolves rather than the charity and affection of devoted shepherds. Instead of nourishing those committed to their care, they rend and devour them brutally. Instead of leading their people to God, they drag Christian souls into hell in their train. Instead of being the salt of the earth and the light of the world, they are its innocuous poison and its murky darkness. St. Gregory the Great says that priests and pastors will stand condemned before God as the murderers of any souls lost through neglect or silence….

When God permits such things, it is a very positive proof that He is thoroughly angry with His people, and is visiting His most dreadful anger upon them. That is why He cries unceasingly to Christians, “Return, 0 ye revolting children . . . and I will give you pastors according to my own heart” (Jer. 3, 14-15). Thus, irregularities in the lives of priests constitute a scourge visited upon the people in consequence of sin."

For instance, so many of us have decried the refusal of the popes since 1960 to consecrate Russia to Mary's Immaculate Heart.  Yet how many of us are faithful to the daily Rosary and the Five First Saturdays devotion?  How often do we advocate it?  Also, how many of us tolerate the liturgical abuses of the Novus Ordo without raising one protest, for fear of incurring personal dislike from the priests?

Many of us decry the errors of Francis as he occupies the Chair of Peter, but how many of us have turned blind eyes to the errors of Pope John Paul II and even Pope Benedict XVI?  How many of us complied with the lockdowns and absented ourselves from Mass, when Masses were available (albeit at some sacrifice)?

I will suggest some things that I and others have been suggesting for some time.

• Attend the Traditional Latin Mass, even if you have to drive a bit.  By the way, contrary to popular fairy tale, the SSPX is NOT in schism.  You can attend those Masses and still fulfill Sunday obligation.
• If you have no other choice but to attend Novus Ordo, be reverent and respectful of the Blessed Sacrament on the altar.  Do not behave as though the nave of the church is a social hall.  You might stick out like a sore thumb by so doing, but so what?  Perhaps others, by reason of your example, might come to deeper belief in the Real Presence.
• Pray your Rosaries daily for the conversion of the world.
• Learn as much as you can regarding how the Church got to this sorry state of affairs and tell others about it.

We are gathering to pray for an end to Leroy Carhart's murderous rampage in Maryland.  As noted in the post below, Carhart has been called before Congress on account of his butchering of women.  We will pray that these hearings help bring an end to baby-murder in Germantown and beyond.

Bishop Gambino Zavala Admits Paternity Of Two Teenagers, Resigns His Post

Much has been written on this blog about Bishop Gambino Zavala, former auxiliary bishop of Los Angeles.  We know he's a former president of both Pax Christi and Interfaith Worker Justice.  He's presided at  the "closing liturgies" of the 2010 religious education conferences in Los Angeles - "liturgies" that are more accurately called farcical circuses.  And yes, he's whined about us bloggers who shine the light on progressive shenanigans within the Church.

I emphasized the word "former" in the previous paragraph for Zavala's resignation from his post has been announced - for cause.  He has disclosed that he fathered two children who are now teenagers.  They live in another state with their mother.  Let our prayers be with them.

There is a phrase "lex orandi lex credendi lex vivendi".  The (loose) translation from Latin yields "the law of prayer is the law of belief; the law of belief is the law of life".  Bishop Zavala's sad story is testimony to the truth of that Latin phrase.

Pray for him.  Also pray for Archbishop Gomez who has a bit of a mess to clean up in Mahoney's wake.

You may remember that Rev Patrick Mahoney, director of Christian Defense Coalitioin, was arrested last month for praying on the PUBLIC sidewalk in front of Planned Parenthood on 16th Street.
