Cardinal McCarrick Channels His Inner Imam - Again!

Nine years ago, Cardinal McCarrick addressed some Jordanian dignitaries at the Catholic University of America.  In his prayer incantation, he invoked "allah" (as though it were a true deity) three times!  Guess how many times he invoked Jesus Christ?  Zero-zip-nada!  Read it from this blog's sister site here http://www.restore-dc-catholicism.com/McCarrick%20watch.htm and scroll all the way to the bottom.  Please read the text of the complete address.  Here are more incredible McCarrick gaffes relating to Islam.  Two days ago he added yet another.

Two days ago at a press conference in Washington - arranged by the Muslim Public Affairs Council, he again offered islamic-sounding incantations (I will not call that idolatrous screed "prayer"!), saying less-than-edifying pronouncements:
  • "In the name of God, the Merciful and Compassionate" - an islamic invocation, roughly analogous to the Sign of the Cross for Catholics
  • "Mohammed the prophet, peace upon him" - again, another nod to the islamic heresy - never mind that Mohammed was a pedophile who murdered anyone standing in the way of his false creed
I see no sign that the Cardinal invoked the name of Jesus Christ at least once - just as happened nine years ago at Catholic University of America.  Please read that entire article as it points out the horrid ways that McCarrick contradicted historical fact.

I am so grateful that McCarrick has retired and can no longer vote in papal conclaves.  He still manages to make a mockery of the Faith - with the permission if not approval of Cardinal Wuerl.  Lately the Vortex has been focusing on the evil that progressive bishops have been wreaking on the faith.  Here is yet one more sad example.  I'm sure another will appear in a matter of weeks if not days.

McCarrick Blooper - Embracing Indifferentism?

In a comment to my Sept 2nd post regarding the Standard article, I reminded one and all about an address Cardinal McCarrick gave in 2005 in which he invoked "allah" three times without so much as mentioning the name of Jesus Christ once.  Here is the text of that address.

Well, he did it again, so to speak.  He was a featured speaker at a press conference put on by the Islamic Society of North America, joining the parade of progressives who are denouncing opponents of the Ground Zero mosque as engaging in "derision" and "bigotry".

Those of us who have heard the Cardinal know that he is a master at the usage of double negatives in his verbal discourses.  From elementary school grammar lessons, we know that double negatives cancel out the "negative" meaning of the sentence in which they're embedded.  It's a way to say something while leaving enough verbal "wiggle room" to deny responsibility for the statement.  He gave an example of this rather devious technique at this press conference.  To wit:

Cardinal McCarrick: “As an American, I believe that we all have a right to practice what God tells us is his message to us and if therefore, if someone – if someone sees the Gospel as the truth of God’s presence in our world, that person should embrace the Gospel.  If a person sees the Qu’ran as proof of God’s presence in the world, then I cannot say, ‘don’t embrace the Qu’ran’ so that I think we – we should always be willing to talk to people and we should always be willing to love them and we should always be willing to allow them that freedom of conscience which comes from God.”

Your Eminence, what do you mean with this "I cannot say don't embrace the Qu'ran"?  For you, by virtue of your Sacrament of Holy Orders and of being a Prince of the Church, you must  proclaim the Gospel and its supreme truth.  That is not optional, that is your solemn obligation!

What is also amazing is that this statement is made in response to a rather straight-forward question.  He was asked if he believed a Muslim born in Mecca should have the right to convert to Catholicism.  The Cardinal never gave a clear answer to that question.  Please visit the link to the press conference; on that page is a video of the interview with Cardinal McCarrick (I can't embed that here).

The New Advent website gives a concise definition of religious indifferentism.  I think we saw His Eminence openly proclaiming that at the press conference.  Pope Gregory XVI, in his encyclical Mirari Vos, condemned this indifferentism as a heresy (see section 13).

Do you think we'll see this in the next Catholic Standard?  We've seen more stupid things therein now, haven't we?

By the way - I thank Pewsitter for alerting me to this.

We Honor Prelates by Breaking the First Commandment?

It seems that is how some folks attempted to honor Cardinal McCarrick on November 17th.  I just learned of this today when I saw this flyer in the literature rack of a church where I attended Mass today.  He was honored at an "Interfaith Concert".  When I first looked at it, I was a bit miffed that there was no Catholic group featured in this thing.  However, as I thought about it more, I realized that it was a good thing that no Catholic group was featured - because then they would have been included in this "Hindu call and response chant".  Since that is inherently an invokation of a false god, they would have been in violation of the First Commandment - "I am the Lord your God.  You shall have no other gods before Me."

Was Cardinal McCarrick ok with being "honored" by this invokation to a false god?  I don't know about this case, but I'm reminded of an incident about which I wrote on the website under "McCarrick watch" in 2005.  Go to the bottom of that page and read how he invoked Allah when some Jordanian dignitaries visited Catholic University.

Two years ago, this annual concert was held in the main church of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.  I went to see if my suspicions about the mess were true; unfortunately they were.  I had to pay to get in (which I believe is a violation of Canon law, since it was held in a church).  Underneath the image of Christ in Majesty (shown above), scantily-clad Hindu dancing girls were twirling around, banging their tambourines and chanting feverishly to whatver idol they worship.  I looked up and couldn't help but wonder if the stern expression on the mosaic's face mirrored Christ's actual face at that instant.  Was the church reconsecrated after that obvious blasphemy?  At least this year no Catholic place of worship was profaned.

I've one other note.  You might notice the word "over" at the bottom.  I saw no need to waste bandwidth on this, but on the back is an acknowledgement that this concert was funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.  You might recall that the NEA is the institution that foisted on us, courtesy of our tax dollars, pieces of slop such as the infamous "Piss Christ" display.  Speaking of our tax dollars, why aren't the liberals moaning and kvetching about the public funding of this homage paid to Cardinal McCarrick?  Why aren't they clamoring for "separation of church and state" when they would be right to do so?

We are facing a downward spiral, spiritually and culturally, into the  pits of hell.  We will NOT pull out until our Shepherds recall who they are, Who is their God, and lead the way out.

Lovers Of Ecumenicide Pretend Muslims Worship Our God - They DON'T!

There is a great deal of confusion in the Church today as to whether or not Muslims worship the same God as do we.  In fact many prelates, including our own Cardinal McCarrick, either are honestly confused about the matter or they exploit general confusion so that they may appear to be "ecumenical".  Indeed, nine years ago at Catholic University His Eminence addressed some Muslim dignitaries; in that address he invoked "allah" three times but he gave not one mention to Jesus Christ.  That address, which can be called de facto idolatry, is here.

Cardinal McCarrick and other devotees of ecumenicide often cite Lumen Gentium and the Catechism as their authorities.  They are misreading those church documents.  A few weeks ago Dr. Taylor Marshall posted an article that addressed this question.  I link to it now; it's worth careful study.  He points out that the Church documents state that the Muslims profess to worship the God of Abraham, and profess to hold faith in Him.

It's one thing to profess to worship God.  It can be quite another to worship God in fact.  Here's an example of this occurrence.  We've all heard Nancy Pelosi's protestations of being a "good faithful Catholic".  This is the same Pelosi who went on a rampage when her bishop upheld traditional marriage.  This is the same Pelosi who was honored at Planned Parenthood's gala in March and said that" to be associated with the great Margaret Sanger is a distinct privilege" (she may well "enjoy that privilege" for all eternity if she doesn't repent, but I digress).  She also believes Hamas to be a "humanitarian organization".  So Pelosi may think she's a great Catholic, but reality indicates otherwise.  Similarly, Muslims think they worship the God of Abraham but their actions indicate otherwise.  The more vociferous Muslims state that we don't worship the same deity (more than we can say for Cardinal McCarrick); they just don't accept that they are the ones worshiping a false idol - if not actual demons.

Below is a video of Muslim jihadists burying alive opponents.  This action (among so many others) is evidence that these monsters do NOT worship the One True God.  Parents - you may wish to keep your small children from seeing this.

Pope Francis: "Muslims Worship..One True God"

I don't know how I missed that but yes the Holy Father did utter those words last year.  He uttered those words as part of an address he gave to an "ecumenical" address at the beginning of his papacy.  I now link to the English translation as found in Zenit.

Was he coached/directed by Cardinal McCarrick?  (FYI, that was a facetious question.) Recall that almost nine years ago His Eminence also disgraced his calling by invoking "allah" three times while addressing some Jordanian dignitaries.  Guess how many times he invoked Jesus Christ, the One True God, for whom he was ordained?  Zero-zip-nada!.  The text of the disgusting screed can be found here.

A Catholic Media Coalition colleage, Orlando Truth, wrote an excellent piece exposing the errors and perils of Islam.  I link to it here. I will also link to an article written by Joseph Farrah, explaining just why the Holy Father's (apparent) naivete regarding the nature of Islam will lead to incredible peril unless he opens his eyes quickly.   Would those in the Vatican who are reading this blog be so kind as to make sure His Holiness gets and reads copies of these immediately?  Thank you.

The Orlando Truth article, plus authentic Catholic teaching, make plain that "allah" and the One Triune God that we worship are not the same.  For all their many grievous faults and errors, even the Muslims understand that what they worship is not the God whom we worship; they don't accept (yet) that their "deity" is false.  Why will not our Church leaders acknowledge that "allah" is a false idol?  Are they so seduced by the siren calls of political correctness and the poisonous doctrines of the "church of nice"?

One line in that papal address is, "the Catholic Church is aware of the importance of promoting friendship and respect between men and women of different religious traditions."  That's nice; but are Church leaders aware of the even greater importance of bringing these men and women to the One True Faith?  That is their charge, since they are in Holy Orders.  However, I've reason to believe that proclamation of the Truth is the last thing on their minds as they serve their idols of "political correctness" and the "church of nice".

Former Muslim Confirms From Koran That "Allah" Is Not A Synonym For God

Yoo hoo!   Cardinal McCarrick, please take note!  Allah is indeed a false idol, NOT to be confused with the One True God!

Also in dire need of such education is the current staff of the John Paul II Cultural Center for allowing their facilities to be used to host "interfaith" deception.  I note, though, that soon some Dominican Sisters will be assuming ownership.  Hopefully that sort of foolishness will not be repeated there.

I address this, too, to the staff of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, particularly after they allowed the Interfaith Concert Debacle to occur a few weeks ago.  By the way - did you ever purify and/or rededicate the Shrine after all that idolotrous blasphemy?

Cardinal McCarrick Praises Hamas-Related Imam

Retired Cardinal McCarrick stepped into the radar again, once again displaying a regretable tendency to kiss up to Muslim leaders with ties to violence.  From Jihad Watch, we receive this sorry, but all-too-typical report and clip of the Cardinal waxing lyrical about his "friend".  Click here if you cannot see the embedded video in that report.

Some may whine that "Muslims and Christians worship the same deity".  For all their many faults, even the Muslims can tell the difference between their "allah" and our God.  Why can't some of us?

This is not the first time I've reported on the Cardinal's tendency to heap praises upon religious leaders that smile at him on one hand but yet have ties to Hamas and other promoters of violence and terrorism.  See:

I regret that it probably won't be the last.

Indifferentism Poisoning DC And Boston Chanceries

In both the Tenth Crusade and Rorate Caeli we read that Boston's Cardinal O'Malley reaffirmed his baptism under the dubious "ministry" of a Methodist named Anne Robertson.  As the Tenth Crusade points out, Roberson is pro-abortion.  But even if she advocated traditional morality, this ceremony was still scandalous on its face.  Since when does a Prince of the Church accept faux-ministry from a Protestant as though it were equivalent to ministry from a Catholic priest?

What is at play here is the heresy of indifferentism - the false belief that all religions are equivalent on God's eyes.  We of the Archdiocese of Washington are no strangers to such slop as it oozes from our own chancery - and has been for quite a while now.

For instance, who can forget the debacle of September 2005 when Cardinal McCarrick gave an "ecumenical" address to the King of Jordan and other Muslim persons at the Catholic University of America?   I originally published the text of his remarks on my earlier website and do so now.  In his very first sentence, he said that he "invoked allah, the compassionate and merciful lord of all the world".  He went on to invoke "allah" two more times.  Guess how many times he mentioned the words "Jesus Christ"?  That's right!  Zilch!  Zip!  Nada!  Does it not make you wonder just whose bishop he is?

Cardinal O'Malley, a member of the Pope's advisory Council of Cardinals, reportedly is in close contact with the Holy Father.  Did this episode come to Pope Francis' knowledge?  Why, when he holds such a position of responsibility, would Cdl O'Malley engage in actions that any reasonable person would see as scandalous?  Is he taking cues from the Vatican?  Recall that it was Pope Francis who himself broke Canon Law on Holy Thursday when he washed a woman's feet.  We look askance upon all this.  While Our Lord promised that the gates of hell would never prevail against us, He never promised us a cake walk.  We may well have opponents within the highest ranks of the Vatican.

Cardinal Dolan Shames His Faith In Front Of Muslims

A few days ago Cardinal Dolan met with about forty other faith leaders at the Staten Island Albanian Islamic Cultural Center.  Did he preach the Faith?  Did he seek their conversion to Christianity?  Did he, in other words, behave like - a bishop?

In a word, NO.

He uttered heresy when he said to the Muslim leaders, "you love god, we love god and he is the same god'."  There is a reason why I did not capitalize those "g"s.  Simply put, what the Muslims worship is a false idol; it is not the One, True, Triune God.  Even the true Muslims, for all their many faults, understand that "allah" is not equivalent to the One True God (although their perspective is different).  He then lauded them for "not losing their faith".  Faith in a false idol?  Your Eminence, you are more at fault than they for you spouted the heresy of indifferentism at them as opposed to the truth of the Gospel.

He is not the first Prince of the Church to try to curry favor with Muslims by behaving as though heresy was equivalent to the One True Faith.  Our own Cardinal McCarrick set less-than-sterling examples of that many times in the past - chronicled by Yours Truly.

Pray for our shepherds. And by all means, speak out!

Muslim Students Whine At Catholic University Of America

And just what is it that is causing them to wax indignant?  Well, it seems that when they gather for their prayers in empty classrooms the Crucifixes on the wall make them feel (gasp!) uncomfortable!

Imagine that!  Crucifixes on the walls of a Catholic classroom!  Who'da thunk it??!!??  Oh, the politically-incorrect indignity of it all!!  But really!  Can you just imagine if the reverse situation had taken place?  That is, what might have happened if Catholic students at a Muslim institution had complained about the cresants and prayer rugs everywhere?  The beheadings would have commenced immediately!  Oh, wait!  My bad!  No Catholic would have ever been allowed admittance in the first place, so why bother considering that hypothetical situation?

It seems that things at Catholic University have improved immensely, at least from six years ago, when Cardinal McCarrick besmirched the University (and his own sacerdotal orders) by praying to "allah" as a kiss-up to the king of Jordan (if anyone forgot about that debacle, here it is).  I take this opportunity to commend again the CU administration for doing away with the co-ed dorms and pray that they hold fast to their Catholic convictions.

As for these muslim crybabies, may I suggest that they just high-tail it to Georgetown University?   Georgetown has already jettisoned its Catholic identity, and I suspect that damage is irreparable.  Hey - they've already demonstrated their propensity to take down or cover up their crucifixes, so these muslims should feel right at home!

Catholic Standard - Gross Naivete About Ground Zero Mosque

That is what Father Peter J. Daly, pastor of St John Vianney Parish in Prince Frederick MD, displayed in his article in the September 2nd issue of the Catholic Standard.  Unfortunately (maybe deliberately??) that article is not on the Standard's website.  It's on page 12 is entitled "The Mosque Controversy".  The gist of the article is that Catholics who oppose this mosque should know better, since we were victims of persecution earlier in this country's history.

Msgr Pope's Piece On Catholics Who Raise Their Voices

Msgr Charles Pope of Washington DC recently wrote on his blog (hosted by the Archdiocese of Washington) a piece called "Is Being A Bishop Like Herding Cats?  It Shouldn't Be".  I urge all to read it, along with the comments.  In that piece, he laments what he calls a "dismissive attitude" towards the bishops, something that he calls "a common attitude among many theological and ecclesial conservatives as well."  Unfortunately, Msgr speaks too much in generalities; without specific examples, it's difficult to discern the impetus behind his comments.

Note: this piece is a long read, so..
