Recall how Georgetown Visitation, thanks to Sister Mary Berchams Hannan, soiled itself by its open embrace of lesbian perversion. A nearby pastor knew he could not remain silent. Msgr Filari, pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes in Bethesda MD, issued an open letter to Sister. It appeared in the bulletin. (By the way, should this bulletin "mysteriously" disappear, please be advised that many of us have downloaded it and we can make it reappear!) Msgr tells the truth regarding the support of perversion.that it will endanger souls. The screed issued by the Post is both typical and expected.
The real question is whether or not newly-minted Archbishop Wilton Gregory will himself uphold Catholic moral teaching. Will he? Will he act as a real shepherd of souls? Or will he follow the despicable precedent set by his now-disgraced predecessor in office, Cardinal Wuerl, when the latter threw Father Marcel Guarnizo under the bus for withholding Holy Communion from a flaming lesbian? All eyes will be upon him - including ours.

What's Happening With McCarrick?
With all the events surrounding the joke of a bishops' meeting in Baltimore, and now the prospect of yet another synodical farce this coming February, the fate of Theodore McCarrick seems to have fallen from the radar screens. Or so some prelates might have hoped.
The Washington Post seems to have noticed that, and has remarked about that. Normally I'm not a fan of the Post but in this case I respect their determination not to let this matter fall by the wayside. They ask questions that deserve answers.
Well, maybe there are answers. This LifeSiteNews article details how McCarrick was quite the effficient errand boy for Pope Francis in his various progressive endeavors. I need not rehash all the mess here. Suffice it to say that there is plenty of reason why Pope Francis would like to keep the spotlight off McCarrick. Perhaps he would one day like to spirit McCarrick off to some posh resort in Europe - for prayer and penance, of course! Or perhaps they are waiting for nature to run its course; McCarrick is getting on in years and the day of his eventual passing from this life is drawing near.
Speaking of that inevitable event, please keep him in prayer, that he would come to real repentance and make a good confession before he dies. Else, his eternal prospects look rather dim.

WaPo - Trump Has Power Over Hurricanes
In June of 2017, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops had a hissy-snit because President Trump rescued the United States from that fraud known as the Paris climate agreement. They betrayed their ignorance of the US Constitution by claiming that the US ratified it. That did not happened. While the Messiah Most Miserable signed it, that was not sufficient to ratify it. According to the Constitution, any international agreement must be approved by the United States Senate before it can be considered binding on the US. That simply didn't happen.
Pope Francis has glommed onto this climate-change junk science, championing the Paris climate covenant. Long-time readers of this blog will recall that for years I have decried the pope's servitude to environmentalism. He has gone so far as to parade all sorts of anti-life people through the Vatican in the name of this environmental idolatry.
Not all are taken in by the hype. Investor Business Daily reports on the sheepish admission by the UN that this Paris accord is a joke. Of course sane people, including President Trump, knew that all along.
Sane people are a rarity in mainstream media. The Washington Compost outdid itself today in its op-ed by claiming that because Trump pulled us out of that agreement, he is to blame for Hurricane Florence. I wish I could say it was satire, but they are serious. They said, and I quote, "when it comes to extreme weather, Trump is complicit". What? Do they think Trump did some American Indian rain dance to conjure up a hurricane? Do they ascribe divine attributes to him? Do they have one iota of common sense? When you read the article, look at the comments. Most are mocking the editorial, as well they should.
Now I wonder how the denizens of that USCCB building off Michigan Avenue are reacting to the editorial. They are probably nodding in assent. It's time to abolish the USCCB.

Media Lapdogs Take Swipes At Cardinal Burke
If ever we wanted prima facie evidence that the leftwing media is in cahoots with the pope and others who want to dismantle Sacred Tradition, we need look no further than two recent hit pieces aimed at Cardinal Burke.
A few days ago, the Washington Compost, through its "correspondent" Emma-Kate Symons, put forth a piece of editorial excrement. Symons condescended to offer some precious pearls of wisdom to tell "How Pope Francis Can Cleanse The Far-Right Rot From The Catholic Church". I'm suspecting that Symons herself isn't Catholic so I fail to see how she has a dog in this fight - except to quell a possible nagging conscience by attempting to silence the voice of God as it sounds forth from the Church's timeless teachings. She refers to Burke as "renegade cleric", "rebel prince", "unrepentant and defiant", etc. Dare I speculate that Symons doesn't know diddly-squat about real repentance? But I digress. We get hints of her biases and mindsets as we see telltale catch phrases such as "Francis' reformist compassionate papacy", "conservative wing that wants to reassert white Christian dominence", etc.
Symons is great at contradicting herself. She suggests that the pope rebuke Burke for "his unacceptable political interventions" while in the next paragraph she defends the pope for "daring to suggest that building a wall on the United States’ southern border was un-Christian." Boys and girls, can we say "double standard"? Or is acceptability of "political interventions" dependent on their leftward tilt?
Symons' suggestions to the pope only serve to illustrate her complete ignorance of what constitutes Church teaching by saying, "Francis could seize the agenda. In time-honored papal tradition, he could write an encyclical on the burning questions of populism and nationalism, with specific reference to migrants, Muslims and Jews, so priests including Burke know they are in breach of church teaching when they try to act as power brokers for the international extreme right." Reminder - the Church can only teach authoritatively on Faith and Morals in keeping with Tradition. Anything else, including this "encyclical" that Symons suggests would simply be outside the proper competence of the Magisterium. Oh, they might try such a stunt but such pronouncements would not bind on pain of sin.
Now that we see why subscription numbers at the Compost are plummeting, let's take a look at the Guardian from "across the pond". They seem to have received the same progressive Vatican talking points. They tell us that "US Cardinal Raymond Burke Stokes Papal Tensions By Meeting Nationalist In Rome". This drivel was spewed forth by Stephanie Kirchgaessner. What seems to have her undies bunched is that the Cardinal met with Matteo Salvini, a supporter of President Trump. We gather that Kirchgaessner herself has a visceral animosity towards Trump, as do many of the pope's lackeys in the Vatican. As Kirchgaessner states, Cardinal Joseph Tobin opined that Trump's travel ban was "opposite of what it means to be an American". I might point out that Tobin's indifference to lesbians using a KofC hall in his diocese to celebrate their perversion was "opposite of what it means to be a bishop".
Did Kirchgaessner issue rebukes to the Vatican for inviting anti-life and anti-God persons to speak to them? If so, I'd be grateful if links to those articles would be directed to me. I speak of:

Montgomery County KofC Council Under Possible Gay Attack
The blogger learned of this event from an article in today's Washington Post. Ironically the article itself was occasioned by the refusal of a disk jockey company to serve the party owing to the presense of gays. On one hand, one could argue that a birthday party per se is not inherently a celebration of sodomy. However, consider that the dj would be playng music to which gays would be dancing with each other, presumably in "romantic" fashions. So yes - indirectly this event will be a celebration of the gay lifestyle.
The article mentions that this party is scheduled to be held in a Knights of Columbus hall in August, located in Silver Spirng, MD. Like my fellow blogger, I know of only one council in Silver Spring: the Rosensteel council. Knowing how this council has supported pro-life efforts in the past (just last month I attended the Gabriel Network gala hosted at Rosensteel), I cannot believe that they realized the true nature of this event. Now we must pray that they stand by Catholic principles as opposed to political correctness "Montgomery County style". Pray and support this council in this.
We must also pray and vocally support Ultrasound DeeJays. I commend them highly for holding true to their Christian principles.
As I learn further details I will relate. If my readers learn anything new, please advise me via the comments section.

Virginia's Common-Sense Laws A Factor In Closing Abortuary
The Washington Post, mouthpiece for the baby-killers that it is, let loose with its screed entitled "Virginia's Assault on Abortion Claims a Victim". The hysterical wording implied that a human being died as a result of the law. Au contraire! The lives of human beings will most likely be saved!
The editorial starts off with this rather telling denial of fact claiming that "at abortion clinics.. the width of doorways..(has) little to do with the health of patients". Note - to see prima facae evidence of the lunacy underlying that lie, take a gander at the photo to the right, of a woman being carried out of a.the width of now-closed Birmingham abortuary - because they couldn't get a gurney through the doorways! They had to carry her down a dilapidated staircase and through a trash-filled ally!
The "victim" in this sorry excuse of an editorial is - was - Hillcrest Clinic of Norfolk VA. The only reason it closed, apparently, is because the owners were too cheap to bring their chop shop to minimum standards for safety. They did perform surgery, did they not? Were they not interested in making abortion (surgical procedure) as safe for the women as possible? Why were these so-called "champions of women" not willing to meet these standards but to even go beyond them? But no, they balked and shut their doors. And we are not complaining one bit. Good bye, Hillcrest, and good riddance! May many more hell holes suffer your fate!

Curbing Violence - It's The Morality, Stupid USCCB!
Sister Mary Ann Walsh, Media Relations Director for the USCCB, has an opinion piece that has been published by today's Washington Post. Right there you can guess that Sister spouts left-wing talking points that have been given to her for that is the only way her byline would appear in the Washington Post. Were she speaking of actual Church teaching the Post would never publish that piece. So what is the topic of the USCCB bloviation of the day? If you read my post about Cardinal McCarrick's latest cause-celebre, you know what it is - "gun control", that is, the confiscation of self-defense tools from decent people.
A careful read of the first paragraph illustrates the smoke and mirrors with which the progressives endeavor to blind and confuse us. They want to instill in our minds that inanimate objects are the cause of so much violence and misery in society. She uses forceps, needles and guns in her flawed analogy. Of course they can be used for great evil. They can also be used for great good. It all depends on the individual doing the "using". Isn't that the same for any tool? She (and all progressives) attempt to relieve criminals of any responsibility for their actions.
Further down in the article she writes, "it is clear that assault weapons stand out dramatically as a threat to innocent life". What is clear is that Sister is simply following the progressive script that I suspect has been given to her by her USCCB handlers, for that statement is sheer, utter nonsense. Weapons, being inanimate objects, pose a threat to nobody. They can be used by criminal elements or by those who defend themselves and others against those same aggressors.
If the USCCB is truly serious about ending violence, they'll do well to examine how our culture came to be so violent. Fifty years ago, such wasn't the case - and at that time there was not nearly the plethora of "gun-control" laws on the books as there is today. So what's the cause? Well, to borrow a phrase from Bill Clinton's first presidential campaign, "it's the morality, stupid"! And before all the little scolds and nay-sayers harp on my use of the word "stupid", I'll make plain that I value accuracy over diplomacy. Indeed, the stupidity is deliberate and I can even say that there are more accurate terms and "stupid" may be the more "diplomatic".
Again, if the USCCB wants to end violence, they'll address the root causes of disobedience to God's laws with regard to sexual morality and family life. They will insist that the clergy preach on the evils of contraception, abortion, euthanasia and the gay lifestyle forcefully and often. They will direct the clergy to implement Canon 915 with regards to flagrant pro-abortion Catholics who dare to profane the Body and Blood of Christ - meaning that Cardinals Dolan and Wuerl need to clean up their acts. Cardinal Dolan's Palm Sunday actions were an unmitigated disastrous scandal, serving only to embolden those who foment the evils that directly contribute to societal violence. And of course the USCCB must give both the CCHD and CRS an immediate and unceremonious heave-ho and stop diverting Catholic dollars to anti-life and anti-God organizations.
Barring miracles, does anyone think any of what I just said will happen? Neither do I. The USCCB, with this Post article, has once again demonstrated why it cannot be taken seriously and why it really should be abolished in its entirety.

Washington Post: Dolan For Pope
The Washington Post, with a column by R. Scott Appleby, has graced us all with yet another token of their concern. They are advising the Catholic Church how to select the next Pope! Awww! Isn't that just, well, special??? Kinda makes one wonder how the Roman Catholic Church managed to survive these two thousand years without the wisdom of the Washington Post to guide her paths!
He thinks it's time for an American pope. Appleby asserts that an American pope would not have been advisable at the last election eight years ago. Why? Because the rest of the world was "too resentful of America’s global footprint: its ostentatious wealth, its ubiquitous military presence and its saber-rattling, diplomacy-scorning president bent on prosecuting two unpopular wars. Big Brother hardly needed a partner in the Vatican."
Ah, but now that's changed. Barack HUSSEIN Obama, the Messiah Most Miserable, is now president. He has "softened America’s international image". (I might argue that "softened" is a bit of an understatement, but I would digress!). And who, oh who, is Appleby's choice? Cardinal Dolan!
You see, he "projects vigor and regular-guy charisma, making his unwavering support of Vatican orthodoxy on sexual ethics and other doctrinal matters more palatable to the broad Catholic middle." I suppose "regular-guy charisma" included that Al Smith Dinner, where Dolan allowed Obama his coveted photo-op right before the election and that groveling letter he wrote to Andrew Cuomo.
Appleby opines that "the church desperately needs an infusion of modernity" and "one who can get the creaky gears of the Vatican moving again, perhaps with the assistance of money and expertise from affluent and well-placed donors". In reality, the Church needs to have modernism purged from its institutions and its clergy. As for the "assistance of money", the apostles did quite nicely without buckets of money from Rome as they were commissioned and empowered by Jesus Christ Himself. These are not valid qualification for the selection of a pontiff.

Carhart Situation - The Washington Post Is Concerned
Yes, indeed! The Washington Post is concerned (VERY concerned, I tell you!) about the news relating to the botched abortion committed by Leroy Carhart in Germantown MD last week. However, lest you think that the Washington Post, bastion of all pro-abortion proponents, is finally regaining a conscience, think again lest you be disappointed. They're concerned, all right - but they're concerned that Carhart's despicable behavior is seeing the light of day and not being swept under the rug.
The columnist is Petula Dvorak. Her perspective is clear. You'll note how she refers to Madison as a "wanted baby". As she progresses with the story and relates the discovery of Madison's problems, we see that "baby" becomes "pregnancy", as in "terminate the pregnancy". We see how trusting she is of the various Maryland authorities: you know, the authorities that 1) licensed the Germantown facility without even conducting an inspection and 2) awarded Carhart his Maryland medical license even though they also acknowledged the gross inaccuracies in the license application. I am not so trusting.
The Washington Post is very concerned about HIPAA. I'd like to see similar outrage expressed towards the Carhart clinic personnel who dumped confidential clinic information (along with biohazards) in an ordinary dumpster. Now there's a HIPAA violation if ever there was one! Let Dvorak wax indignant about that one, if she's so concerned about "privacy". But I suspect we'll hear crickets, for the goal is about shutting us up and nothing else.

We see how trusting she is of the various Maryland authorities: you know, the authorities that 1) licensed the Germantown facility without even conducting an inspection and 2) awarded Carhart his Maryland medical license even though they also acknowledged the gross inaccuracies in the license application. I am not so trusting.
The Washington Post is very concerned about HIPAA. I'd like to see similar outrage expressed towards the Carhart clinic personnel who dumped confidential clinic information (along with biohazards) in an ordinary dumpster. Now there's a HIPAA violation if ever there was one! Let Dvorak wax indignant about that one, if she's so concerned about "privacy". But I suspect we'll hear crickets, for the goal is about shutting us up and nothing else.

Archdiocese Restates Its Cowardice In Father Guarnizo Matter
On February 25th, at a funeral Mass at St John Neumann Church in Gaithersburg, Father Marcel Guarnizo (then assigned to that parish) quietly withheld Holy Communion from the daughter of the deceased. The daughter was at the time (most likely still is) actively engaged in a homosexual relationship.
From that day onward, through March and beyond, I posted very extensively on this matter. There's no need to rehash the particulars here; anyone unfamiliar with this matter can go back and examine the posts and related links.
Today the Archdiocese of Washington confirmed that Father Guarnizo will no more serve in the Archdiocese of Washington. You can read the accounts of MSNBC and the Washington Post. The loss is that of the Archdiocese of Washington. The shame is that of the chancery - right up to Cardinal Wuerl himself.

A Belch At The "Catholic Vote" Blog
That's the only thing I can call Mark Stricherz's post on the Catholic Vote (formerly American Papist) blog entitled "Pro-Life Activists and the Politics of Resentment". He refers to the demonstrations staged against Todd Stave, one of the two owners (the the other being his sister) of the Germantown Reproductive Health Services baby-killing gulag in Germantown Maryland. From the text of this post, I take it that his sole source of information is the Washington Post. No one in their right minds holds that to be anything other than left-wing biased. I'd go so far as to say that the Post, more and more, is dropping all pretenses of impartiality.
I submitted a comment to that post yesterday afternoon. It doesn't appear. Funny - no comment of mine on that blog has been published. It's their blog so they can do whatever they wish but such suppression of my comment that does comply with their stated rules diminishes the respect that I might otherwise have for them. However, this is why this blog exists - so that the petulance of the Catholic Vote, Catholic Standard and others will not stifle voices of faithful Catholics who don't tow their lines. Below (in italics) is the comment that I submitted.
Need I remind you that the Post can hardly be called "reliable" and certainly should not be one's sole source of information? I must also take exception with your usage of the pejorative phrase "politics of resentment" when describing the pro-lifers.
If you think they “resent” something, just what do you think that is? It's not the landlord per se that they "resent" (your term, not mine). They are correctly upset that close to 1000 babies (to date, and counting) have been slaughtered at the Stave's place in Germantown. They might also be a tad miffed that while they are taking a stand (with incumbent risks) and showing the truth of Stave's activities (and Stave's assault of one of them was picked up on camcorder), "armchair-generals" wag their ever-so-superior fingers at them from the comfort and safety of their computer stands.
When I wrote that, I forgot to take Stricherz to task for describing what pro-lifers did as "threats". If his sole basis for that term is the Washington Post, I submit that he engaged in slander. Moreover, Stave's site, Voice For Choice, links to an interview he did with Rachel Maddow. I suggest that you watch it. Notice at the 1:55 mark that Stave had acknowledged that the calls received were "not threatening". That begs the question even more - where does Stricherz get the bright idea that the pro-life folks were "threatening" anybody? I never thought I'd see the day when I'd have to give Rachel Maddow kudos instead of a Catholic blogger. Yes, yes, I know her pro-baby-killing rants are an insult to the intelligence of the normal human being, but I do give the poor deluded dear credit where it's due.
Ostensibly Voice for Choice was started as a result of a demonstration during a parents' event at a school attended by Stave's daughter. I wrote about that before here. In that post I mentioned the assault on the pro-lifer allegedly committed by Stave himself. How peculiar that Stricherz doesn't see fit to mention it - but of course he wouldn't if he relied solely on the Washington Post. So much for "due diligence" research!
By the way - Defend Life's latest newsletter features an article about the pro-life efforts at the Germantown abortuary on pages 17-18. On page 18 you'll see a photo of some "Voice for Choice" groupies holding a picture of Jack Ames - with Ames himself having a chuckle over it!

Pravda On The Potomac
That is the nickname many of us gave to the Washington Post many years ago, owing to its leftward tilt in both its editorials and reporting. Only a few days ago did I learn just how correct we were.
This report from LifeSite News details how the Washington Post has been allowing itself to be an outlet for propaganda arms of both China and Russia. I commend the LifeSite News to your reading - no need to rehash it here.
I will emphasize one thing. Accuracy in Media hypothesizes that the Post is prostituting itself because it (Post) has been losing money. Well why do you suppose that is? Is it because many people (such as me) who once subscribed got sick of throwing their hard-earned money at shills for progressives? Ya think? I wonder just how much this little fiasco will cost them?

Two Newspapers Earn Booby-Prizes For Lousy Reporting On Father Guarnizo's Situation
First booby-prize - the Washington Post (again!)
I suppose we can all be thankful that there are no looming disasters in the world that are of note. How else could a rehash of the February 25 incident with Father Guarnizo have made it onto the front page of the Washington Post's Sunday edition?
Michael Rosenwald and Michelle Boorstein try to compare Father Guarnizo and Barbara Johnson, claiming that they are simply just two very different Catholics. While that itself is laughable on its face, there are more things in this article to tickle the funnybone. So let's proceed to unpack this sloppy excuse for journalism.
First, when the Post writes that Father "has essentially accused church officials of lying", they are referring to the statement that Father released this past Thursday. I reproduced that in my post that day. He simply relayed the facts as he saw them. Had he remained silent, he himself would have lied in doing so.
A few paragraphs down, we read that Father "was known as a particularly intimidating protester in weekly demonstrations outside a Germantown abortion clinic." That clinic would be the late-term facility operated by Leroy Carhart, who murders late-term babies. Father has been instrumental in convincing some mothers not to have this done to their babies. I suppose from the abortionists' perspective, anyone or anything that cuts into their profit margin is "intimidating". Otherwise, the notion of Father being intimidating is silly when one considers that Father stands about 5'6" and is 130 pounds tops.
Moving on, we see mention of "much-debated canon law". Canon 915 is actually quite clear in and of itself. Yes, this is a canon that ministers of Holy Communion are bound (not "requested" but bound) to obey. It is quite scandalous that the Archbishop of Washington DC holds this Canon in disdain. Father upheld it.
Then we read of Mother of God Community, a charismatic community located across the street from the St John Neumann Church. Father Guarnizo is a priest of the Archdiocese of Moscow. The two religion writers of the Washington Post write this incredible statement: "The Catholic archdiocese in Moscow appears to be part of that community." Do you think these "religion writers" should have done just a little research on these two entities? For the Mother of God Community, all they had to do was search the Post's own archives for articles written in 1997. Actually the history of Mother of God Community (at least a good-enough synopsis) is on the Post's own website! Now here's an article from Wikipedia on Roman Catholicism in Russia. Do these writers really believe that an entire archdiocese is an arm of a group of charismatic Catholics that runs out of a relatively small office complex on Goshen Road? Do they have common sense?
Then the Post writers quote this less-than-authoritative comment from Fr Thomas Reese, SJ.: "If I was Cardinal [Donald W.] Wuerl, I’d buy him a one-way ticket to Moscow. These days, arch-conservative priests feel much more comfortable attacking their bishops than do liberals because they feel they’ll get support from conservative Catholic blogs and maybe some in the Vatican." The article states that Reese is the former editor of the liberal Catholic magazine "America". They fail to mention why he's the former editor - in a nutshell, Pope Benedict XVI gave Reese the "heave-ho" as one of the first acts of his pontificate. I mention that only to give an idea of Reese's credibility - or lack thereof.

What did they have to say? Nothing! Nada! Zippo! The page for St John Neumann is filled with the usual happy-clappy stuff - but not one peep about the funeral incident. Please don't tell me that the paper went to print before it happened for I saw reports of other events that occurred as late as March 3, a week after the incident hit the Post and other media outlets. The silence is deafening and disingenuous. I might have expected that from the Catholic Standard, the Archdiocesan mouthpiece that would be itching to cover up the chancery's malfeasance. But I thought that Our Parish Times was independent of the chancery's control. That paper has gone downhill since Bob McCarthy's column disappeared.

Protect Montgomery County Pregnancy Centers! Act Now!
Our efforts to save the pregnancy centers of Montgomery County MD from a draconian attack by pro-abortion members of the County Council are underway. We will need the fullest participation and cooperation possible from every pro-life person in order to succeed.
The text of the bill has been updated slightly, so please read this; of course we would expect amendments throughout the process. The Maryland Citizens for Responsible Government, who led last year's fight against granting special rights to "transgendered" individuals, has developed an excellent, two-sided flyer that you can use to educate your friends about this imporant matter. Download it, print it, email it to your contact list, distribute it - just get the word out.
Let's not put our heads in the sand when it comes to stating quite plainly that the Montgomery County Council is composed of rabid pro-abortion afficiandos. Maryland NARAL conducts its annual fundraiser in October in Rockville. In its 2009 List of Sponsors, five of the nine councilmembers are listed; see for yourselves (by the way - Ike Leggett is there, too). Duchy Trachtenberg, who introduced the bill, is up to her eyeballs in her entanglements with the National Organization of Women (NOW). This past June, Terry O'Neill, Tractenberg's Chief of Staff, was elected national president of NOW Upon her election, O'Neill did resign her position with Trachtenberg. By the way - while O'Neill apparently saw a contradiction in occupying both positions, such compunctions didn't seem to bother Trachtenberg - at least if I read this NOW webpage correctly. It states that in January 2007, Trachtenberg was both the at-large Councilperson AND president of Maryland NOW! We now examine this article, written by Dana Beyer, a current staff member of Trachtenberg's; in it, Dr Beyer denigrates good people (us) who dared to exercise our rights as citizens to combat the transgender-rights bill. It looks like I learned something new. Whereas I was quite aware of Beyer's affiliation with Equality Maryland, I was unaware, until a few minutes ago, that the good doctor was "Maryland NOW Action Vice President." Like I said, the entanglements are many and dense.
I could go on and on, but I think we can see that most of the council has vested interests in seeing this bill passed. Their duplicity is plain. Even the Washington Post, a newspaper that can usually be counted upon to jump on the pro-abortion bandwagon, took issue with this bill and made plain its opinion that it should be defeated. The Post takes issue with the inherent duplicity of the bill when it writes, "the proposed disclosure is too cryptic to be an effective alarm bell for many women and yet is suspect because it singles out pregnancy centers while absolving abortion clinics of any disclosure requirements regarding adoption or parenting options." They've got that right!
Again, please distribute that flyer. Contact the council (we'd suggest doing so by addressing Phil Andrews, the Council president; all communications to him will be diseminated to the other councilmembers). Attend the hearings on December 1st; and consider testifying. Write letters to the editors of newspapers. And above all, please pray! We'll keep you posted.
