Will #Nevertrumpers Finally Listen To Reason?

Some good Christians have the erroneous idea that if one votes for a given candidate, then they support and approve of everything about that candidate.  That is so overly simplistic as to be intellectually and morally dishonest.  I've even heard it said that some won't vote for Trump because he doesn't meet their "standards".  So does that mean our personal "standards" should be held above the good of millions of people?  What kind of "standards" allow for that?  Upon what are these "standards" based?

I post now two articles, excellent in their moral treatment of this question: the first is from Town Hall, and the second addresses Catholic questions.  Below now is a Stoplight video on the matter.  Please get out and vote for Trump.

Another Jesuit Tries To Justify Disobedience To God's Immutable Laws

Somethimes half-truths are worse than complete falsehoods.  With the latter, there is no mistaking its nature for there is no disguise.  With the former, there is the use of things truthful in and of themselves to lend credibility to the falsehood contained therein.

Father James Martin engages in half-truth double-speak.  While it's completely true that Jesus reached out to the marginalized and met them where they were, He never permitted them to remain in sinful states.  He always made clear the need for repentance.  Father Martin makes no mention of the need of gays to repent of their dangerous and sinful lifestyles.  In so doing, he seduces them to remain in their squalor, whether or not that is his intention. 

The first video (after the jump break) is Father Martin's nonsense.  The second is a Stoplight episode featuring Stuart Shephard.  In it, he uses a humorous analogy to explain why the gay lifestyle (among other things) will never be normative, no matter how some (such as Father Martin?) may pretend it to be.

Cap And Trade - Something To Keep In Mind

Now that they're lame ducks, the Dems will want to shove down our throats during these two months all the crap that they can.  (After all, Nancy will want to bang that gavel as much as she can!) Surely the "cap and trade" schtick will be at the top of the list.  In the little search box at the top, put in "global warming" and "climate change" and read material that I've already compiled.

It's Christmas That's Coming - Not "The Holidays"!

When July 4th comes around, or Memorial Day, the stores are quite happy to remind us of the specifics of each special day. They actually name the holidays! Well, why not the birth of Our Lord? Here's a video from Stuart Shepherd that I saw last year. It's still very appropriate!



Now as a rule, I'm not a fan of "contemporary" Christian music. However, I've got to hand it to this group of young men called "Go Fish". In this next video, one of them hits the nail on the head when he opines that a reason for purging the word "Christmas" from cultural lexicons is that people are still intimidated by Christ. Well, maybe they aren't so much as intimidated by Him as much as they resent the demands He makes on their wayward, corrupt consciences. Here it is!
