We're getting down to the wire in trying to preserve marriage and family life in Maryland. Your calls and emails are desperately needed. I have it on good source that your calls and emails are having an impact, but we cannot let up now. The progressive, anti-Christian forces are rallying assistance from outside the state; we must continue to let our representatives know that for the sake of our society, we won't stand for the notion of marriage being bastardized.
The focus is on the House of Delegates in Annapolis. The Senate passed their version a few days ago. We must stop it in the House. Else, if it passes the House, Governor O'Malley has indicated that he will sign it into law.

40 Days For Life In Montgomery County MD - Important Announcements
There are two locations this year for the 40 Days for Life effort in front of abortion mills. Each has their own Kick-Off Prayer Rally (on different days).
1) In Germantown, MD, this effort will be held on Wisteria Drive, at the center where Leroy Carhart is committing late term abortions. The rally will be held Sunday, March 6 at 7pm, at the parish hall of Mother Seton Church. More info can be found at http://www.40daysforlife.com/germantown/
2) In Silver Spring, MD, this effort will be held at 1400 Spring Street, which houses a branch facility of Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan DC. The rally will be held Tuesday, March 8, 7pm at St Bernadette School. David Bereit, the National Director of 40 Days for Life, will be the main speaker. Open Letter To Speaker Of The House John Boehner
Mr. Speaker, several weeks ago the House of Representatives voted to strip Planned Parenthood of all taxpayer dollars. Truth be told, that vote would have been difficult to lose, since the November 2010 elections put into the House true conservatives, largely due to the efforts of pro-life and tea-party activists.
Now the rubber hits the road, as the funding must be worked out in conference between the House and the Democrat-controlled Senate. This will be a true test of mettle, as there does exist the possibility of the US government running out of funds for the day-to-day operations.
Remarks made by you to David Brody of CBN News give many concern that you are getting ready to waver in the face of Democrat opposition. You said, “In the short term CR though, our focus is on cutting spending and making sure that we keep the government open. In order to get this through the House and through the Senate and signed by the president by March 4th, we’re not going to take any big chances on the fact that they’re looking for an excuse to shut down the government. Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer they’ve been rooting for a government shutdown. We do not want to give them an excuse to do that.”
Mr. Speaker, of what are you afraid? If the government shuts down, it will be the Democrats who do that, not you. Oh, yes, the mainstream media will try to pin the blame on the Republicans, but bear in mind that those who ushered in the biggest Republican take-over of the House in history do not take seriously the rantings of the Washington Post, New York Times et al. Why would you? Mr. Speaker, we of the pro-life contingent and the Tea Party contingent are sick and tired of vascillation, connivance and compromise with those who do not have at their hearts the best interests of this country, and who care even less about traditional morality and values.
You stated that "what we want to do here is win the war not just win a battle and there will be an opportunity sometime in order to win the big war and we’re looking for that opportunity." Mr. Speaker, that's nonsense. One does not win wars without winning battles, and to forfeit a battle will only weaken our position in the future. Moreover, I'm mystified by your claim that "we're looking for that opportunity." Mr. Speaker, that opportunity has been handed to you on a silver platter. The recent exposes of Planned Parenthood offices throughout the country (some of them within 10 miles of the Capitol) have revealed Planned Parenthood to be an organization hell-bent on harboring child-rapists, sex-slave handlers and pimps - all done with over $363 million of our tax dollars! America is finally waking up to the truth about Planned Parenthood, and the horrible monstrosity that it is! Are you really going to squander that golden opportunity to "keep the government running"?
As I said before, we are tired of playing waiting games. For too long, pro-life activists and other conservatives have been played for chumps - but those days are now long gone. Help The Vitae Foundation Save Babies

As many of you know, I have been busy, along with many others, since the arrival of the late-term abortionist, Leroy Carhart, in Germantown, MD. We have had a prayerful presence at the abortion clinic to protect babies' lives and their mothers'. Miraculously, one mother left Carhart's clinic, just minutes before killing her child, and came out to us on the sidewalk. She had a change of heart and went for counseling at the local pregnancy center. It was miraculous because it is very difficult to reach the abortion-minded woman at this point in her decision!
--I would like to introduce you to an organization called Vitae Foundation, which I am blessed to be a part of, which has found a way to successfully reach abortion-minded women (like the woman mentioned above) through advertisement. The Vitae Foundation (www.vitaefoundation.org) places ads in the buses in Washington, DC which direct abortion-minded women to seek help at the local pregnancy centers --Vitae's ads are essential for the pregnancy centers to have contact with these women!
--The ads say, "Free Abortion Alternatives," with the numbers of the local pregnancy centers listed
--Vitae's ads are seen by the women BEFORE they make a call or visit the local abortion clinic!
--Vitae ran a Spring 2009 Washington, DC Bus Campaign --The ad directly generated 2,300 phone calls and saved 150 lives! The babies saved were counted when mothers followed through with repeated counseling at the pregnancy center. Additional, countless lives were most likely saved through phone counseling.
--Vitae's Fall 2010 DC Bus Campaign generated over 1000 calls and has saved over 100 lives! The calls are still coming in!
Vitae is launching another Spring 2011 DC Bus Campaign. 5,500 posters will be placed in 200 DC Metro buses to serve the city and parts of Montgomery County. (26 posters line the inside of each bus.)
--I am asking you to please consider sponsoring a bus to save a baby's life and save a mother from the horrors of abortion! The cost to sponsor a bus is only $150. (All proceeds go directly to the cost of the ads.)

Lenten Carbon Fast - It's BAAAACK!
A perverse form of "lenten mortification" has returned to insult the intelligence of reasonable people. Yes, "Earthministry.org" has snookered at least one Catholic parish in the Archdiocese of Washington into glommng onto the nonsensical farce called the "Lenten Carbon Fast" - Blessed Sacrament in the Chevy Chase area, to be precise.
Here's this year's "calendar" for your reading (dis)pleasure. We start off Ash Wednesday by unscrewing our light bulbs (why don't they just suggest we not turn the lights on?). Oh, things get even more profounds as we continue. On March 20th, we are instructed to "Go for a walk. Get wet. Dig the earth." Wow! Can ya (wait for this!) dig this? Cool! Groovy, man! We can tell this mess was compiled by now-aged 1960-style hippies who never quite grew up!
On April 3rd, we are served the obligatory "environmental guilt trip". That is, we're supposed to "think prayerully" how we, the "richest nation", are consuming 80% of the world's resources. Not mentioned, of course, is that the US is actually developing the bulk of the resources. On April 6th, we're urged to watch some environmentalist propaganda; we're given a list of movies from which to select. Of course, Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth is included. Hey - if we're going to "think prayerfully" on something, how about the "inconvenient truth" that 3500 babies are being murdered every day in this country? Now that is something for which the US should be ashamed - including Al Gore, a big proponent of baby-murder.
On March 26th, they're going to celebrate Earth Hour! What is that? Why, they're "taking action on climate change" by (now wait for this lovely suggestion!) turning off your lights for one hour at 8:30pm local time. Well, guess what? I'll have every light in my home blazing during that hour! We can call this "Light Up The Night!"
By the way - did you notice all the crass, profit-centered commercials, masquerading as "climate-friendly suggestions" (shal we say)? In addition to their own "shameless self-plug" on April 15th, we see on April 13th a number of seed and gardening suppliers suggested to us. On March 23rd, we're urged to "reward ourselves for all our efforts so far - with chocolate!" Then they plug "theochocolate". Hey - I love chocolate as much as anyone else does - but can't they be honest about these promotions? Sheesh!
Enough of this envirowhacko profanation and exploitation of Lent! Here are some time-honored suggestions.

- Make a good confession (mandatory if you're in mortal sin)
- Attend Stations of the Cross

- Contribute money to a pro-lfe charity that actually will save babies. Some suggestions are on the right side-bar

For all the PETA types! No bunnies were harmed in the production of this ad (did you notice there were no blades in the bottom of the mixer bowl?)! However, today alone, almost 3500 babies were so butchered in their mothers' wombs today. If that doesn't bother you at least as much as the thought of "bunny puree", your priorities are screwed on ass-backwards!
