USCCB & State Catholic Conferences - Dupes of the Cloward-Piven Strategy
They were revolutionaries who contrived to recruit poor people by pretending to help them materially. Their objective was to overwhelm the welfare system and other social service structures so as to cause massive unrest and social upheaval. Again, I urge you to read this for yourselves.
The sane person will realize that the Obama Hell Bill might very well be intended to be one of those Trojan Horse programs detailed in the article. It is being ballyhooed as the healthcare salvation of the lower classes. Of course, this Hell Bill will lead to the ultimate destruction of the American health care system. No doubt that will cause significant unrest, perhaps leading to violence. Is that the ultimate aim? Remember who sits in the White House, with his radical ties, who sat in the church of Jeremiah Wright as the latter screamed, "God damn America!"
So who are some of the dupes helping to wheel that Trojan Horse into our society? I have described in earlier posts that the USCCB is one of them. Now I must point out that the Maryland Catholic Conference has swigged down that stupifying koolaid. I received today an email from their Catholic Advocacy Network, entitled "Tell Senate not to move health care bill forward until it is morally acceptable" The action it urges at the bottom is "Please click the "take action" link in the top right corner of the page to urge our U.S. senators not to move the health care reform bill forward until its fundamental flaws are corrected and urge them that if those changes are not made, the bill should be opposed." (italics mine)
In other words, up until now, they haven't been opposing it, but merely have been trying to put the proverbial lipstick on the rattlesnake. The fact is that many in these "Catholic Conferences" are infatuated with socialism, in disobedience to Pope Pius XI. I had occasion, two years ago, to write "Marxist Influence in Writings of Maryland Catholic Conference". In it, I link to a very strange statement that appears on the MCC website. Note the timing of that statement in relation to one of the biggest tax hikes in Maryland's history.
I know there are some who might suggest that I'm being uncharitable in calling the USCCB and the MCC "dupes" for supporting the Obama Hell Bill. In truth though, the use of the term "dupes" is the charitable path. The fact is, if the USCCB and MCC aren't being blinded by gross stupidity, then in all likelihood they are being motivated by something quite sinister.

Pelosi And USCCB Make Buffoons Of Themselves Over The Illegal Alien Situation
She has taken the occasion to wax lyrical about the "eloquence of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops" in their discussions about the influx. Pssst! Hey Nancy! A couple of points!
- They ceased calling themselves the "National Conference of Catholic Bishops" several decades ago! They are now the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops! Got that?
- You certainly had no fond words to say when they were actually acting like Catholic bishops in decrying abortion and the contraception mandate! Your fondness for their eloquence seems to be attuned to whether they are going lockstep with the Cloward-Piven strategy versus the Magisterium!

Pope Preaches Progressivism Rather Than Gospel
Regrettably the pope's two addresses today confirmed Gosar's misgivings. First, I'll link to the remarks that the pope gave as he addressed those with him in the White House. He went on and on about "climate change". Given what we know about Laudato Si and the progressives that helped craft that screed, we know the pope is abusing his high position to lend credence to the junk science and socialism embedded in the "climate change" ideology. My colleague at Les Femmes pointed out that the Messiah Most Miserable applauded throughout the entire sorry spectacle. He was applauding not only because the pope was shilling for one of his pet projects but because the pope made not one mention of the babies being murdered via abortion. Statistically speaking, at least several dozen children were murdered during the time it took for the pope to utter his remarks. Why did he not at least mention the children once? Did he fear Obama, who has been unabashed about his support of baby butchery and now it seems, the selling of their tiny bodies for ghoulish "research"? Or.....OR..maybe this heinous sin isn't that high on his priority list?
Having knocked envirowhackoism off the agenda for the day, the pope moved onto the coddling of illegal immigration at the meeting with the US bishops at St. Matthew's Cathedral. The topic of abortion fared a little bit better; in this address it rated a 5-word sentence. But that's it! And even at that, it was merely the first of several issues, in true "seamless garment" "laundry-list" fashion. The main thrust of his address was encouragement to be conducive to the de facto demolition of our national borders. I would say that he's blissfully (if willfully) ignorant of the strain put upon our national resources, but I wonder if he's truly ignorant? Does the phrase "Cloward-Piven" ring a bell? Again, this is a cause near and dear to the heart of the Messiah Most Miserable for the reasons embodied in the Cloward-Piven theory, not to mention that all these immigrants are seen as a source of Democrat voters.
It would be wonderful if the pope did devote his Congressional address to the plight of the children murdered in the womb at the rate of over 3000 daily. Clearly the Senate would benefit, seeing how they killed the measure to defund Planned Parenthood. I hope and pray for that miracle.

Current CCHD Grantees Participate In "Economic Terrorism"?
Look at the board of directors of the Left Forum. Take note of the name Frances Fox Piven. That's right! She is one half of the brains behind the Cloward-Piven Strategy. I've written on this previously. Heavily influenced by Alinskyan thought, the basic idea is to overwhelm the government and other authorities with unreasonable demands and pressures so that it collapses, or comes close to it. Bear that in mind as you watch the clip later on.

Community Organizing - Jesuit Style
In that first link (to Breitbart) the pope is said to have made immigration a "priority of his pontificate". Odd! The primary duty of the pontiff has always been to safeguard and promulgate the Faith for the eternal salvation of souls. Since when do temporal political opinions trump matters of salvation, especially for one so charged? But I do believe the pope when he says in essence that his priorities are skewed.
Another skewed priority appears to be the toppling of Catholic teaching. Amoralis Lamentia appears to have been crafted with that aim in mind. Austrian philosopher Josef Seifert was a friend of Pope St John Paul II and is a staunch defender of Church teachings. No doubt this was a factor in him being purged from the Pontifical Academy for Life during the draconian purge of several months ago. He analyzed AL, particularly paragraph 302, and concludes that as it stands, Amoralis Lamentia will destroy the Church's moral doctrine if it is allowed to stand.
Pope Francis is a Jesuit. Among other things, he evinces all the traits of a modernist. I'd like now to link to a biographical sketch of another Jesuit who was instrumental in spreading the poison of modernism in that order - Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. I learned something new and not altogether surprising - that de Chardin is directly descended from Voltaire. I'm not going to go through the whole thing. Rather, I'll focus on one quote: "According to my own principles, I cannot fight against Christianity; I can only work inside it by trying to transform and convert it. A revolutionary attitude would be much easier, and much more pleasant, but it would be suicidal. So I must go step by step, tenaciously."(Letter, Mar. 21, 1941)
Sound familiar? Similar sentiments were voiced by de Chardin's contemporary, Saul Alinsky: "True revolutionaries do not flaunt their radicalism. They cut their hair, put on suits and infiltrate the system from within." I don't know if the two men knew each other but they both espoused the same evil ends: the deconstruction of Christianity and western civilization.
It seems that both de Chardin and the pope have "infiltrated the system" and are "converting it" (the pope's part still in progress). Both the massive influx of potentially violent muslim immigrants and the fundamental compromise of the Church's teachings will have destabilizing impacts on civilization and the eternal salvation of millions of souls. Let me now remind you of another fundamental concept - that of the Cloward-Piven Strategy. My blogging colleague at Les Femmes pointed out as she was mentioning how the Charlottesville situation was so obviously contrived by progressive Democrats in high places of authority in Virginia government, that the whole thing was an implementation of that strategy. I've written about it in the past. Here is a more comprehensive treatment of that strategy.
It sounds like we have "community organizing" going on at the Vatican. The "communities" being organized are muslim terrorists and dissidents of every stripe in order to bring western civilization to its knees. We need to keep our eyes open and help others to do the same.

EmpowerDC - Recipient of DC's CCHD Funds
Daniel Del Pielago, their "quality education organizer", has given workshops sponsored by DC Jobs for Justice and Washington Peace Center. As you look to the left of the WPC webpage, you'll see some planned events - including Bank of America's Week to Pay. We all know from the riot that "community organizers" (really labor-union types) staged on the front lawn of a Bank of America official in Chevy Chase what "payment" can entail. I have to admit that I am somewhat intrigued about the idea of a "Sleepful Protest". Does that means the protest is boring? A perusal of the coalitions of DC Jobs for Justice lists not only EmpowerDC but other sordid little cabals such as: DC Democratic Socialists of America, DC Trans Coaltion, Feminism Without Borders and sundry big-labor unions.
On Empower's "grassrootsmedia" page, we see a link to DC's Independent Media Center. Click on that. On the left side we see "calendars and feeds". Scroll down to "Machination.org's clippings" to see a most ominous title: Why We Must Ration Healthcare. It is a New York Times op-ed piece, written in 2009 by Peter Singer, the notorious anti-life Princeton professor. This is indicative of how EmpowerDC values (or doesn't value) the lives of the ill and elderly, allowing for imperious bureaucrats to determine who receives medical care. So much for championing the disenfranchised.
EmpowerDC has another connection to another entity - one that I hope not too many of these Alinskyan organizations have. It's so unique that I was taken aback. If you look at Empower's Facebook page, you'll see that its street address is 1419 V Street, NW in DC. That address is identical to that of St Augustine Catholic Church in DC.
My, my! Doesn't this just raise a bunch of questions?
- Neither St. Augustine nor EmpowerDC are up front about their shared address on their respective websites. Why?
- The DC real estate data base makes clear that the usage code is "religious". How is that justified with EmpowerDC's presence?
- Do any St Augustine staff members hold positions with EmpowerDC (and vice versa, too)?
- Under St Augustine's "social committee" webpage, we see WIN, that is, Washington Interfaith Network, listed.
- Why is that the only activity listed without its own contact person?
- What is the nature of the relationship between this parish's WIN and EmpowerDC?
- For the information of this blog's readers, WIN is an affiliate of the Industrial Areas Foundation, founded by Saul Alinsky himself.

The Bishops and Bogus "Immigration Reform"
Another avenue into which the USCCB seeks to drive us, as sheep to the slaughter, is through "immigration reform". I now link to an article written by my colleague, Stephanie Block. She lives in New Mexico (a border state) and has done extensive research on various Alinskyite groups and those within the Church that seek to corrode the mission that Jesus gave to the Church.. I urge its study.
Now just what harm would be done by removing our national border controls, as suggested by these groups? Well, remember the Cloward-Piven strategy. In a nutshell, the aim is to bring down a society by overwhelming it with impossible demands. Open the floodgates to unregulated immigration and demands galore will suddenly assail us: social services, etc. It is unreasonable to expect any system or society to meet that kind of demand, all good intentions notwithstanding. We have only to look to California to see how that state has become bankrupt due to overwhelming demand. The capacity of any society is limited; it is not reasonable to expect any society to be a boundless cash cow. Despite their self-righteous attempts to "guilt-trip" us to try to meet these demands, the progressives know we can't! That's their idea!
There's yet another angle. Do you remember that clip from the previous post, where it talks about the demise of democracy, where it says democracy will end when folks decide they can "vote themselves" extra goodies? The progressives want those types of voters; that's why they have engaged in their various "community organizing" stunts for much of the 20th century. They believe that these immigrants will vote their way.
Sadly, I believe the USCCB realizes all this, too. They are acting as willing accomplices to the destruction of the USA.

Obama, Bishops And Child-Trafficking
- Michael Voris pointed out that the Texas political landscape could be drastically altered
- This is a perfect implementation of the Cloward-Piven Strategy.
- The bishops think they might increase their numbers in the churches, although these immigrants have historically become secularized in the US.
The bodies of small children have been found on the shores of the Rio Grande after drowing therein. We also hear that parents of girls about to be shipped here give their daughters contraceptives - in case they're raped on their way to the US. What kind of parents, or government would expose their children to that risk of violence? What kind of bishop is complicit and silent in the face of the kind of travesty to which Mexico and the Central American countries are inflicting upon their own children? A bribed bishop? Readers, if any of you think that's impossible, please explain your reasoning.
Another blogging colleague at Connecticut Catholic Corner has this to say about the Pope's remarks on illegal immigration. Spot on.

USCCB Immigration Pandering - Ulterior Motives Exposed
Dexter Duggan of the Wanderer took what Miner wrote and placed it in context with the immigration battle as it looms in Congress today. His article is reproduced in Angelqueen.org. Let me sum that up. The US Senate has already come up with its excuse of an "immigration reform" bill. Led by Harry Reid and enabled by the "Gang of Eight (now including Marco Rubio)", this bill does nothing in terms of securing the southern border and dealing with the illegal aliens who are already here. They understand that a similar bill does not have a snowball's chance in hell of ever getting passed. Thus the progressives, from Obama on down, are trying a different strategy. They just want the House to pass some sort of immigration bill. Once this bill is passed, it will go to joint conference along with the Senate version. It is in this conference that the progressives plan to strip all border control provisions from the House bill and then ram this joint bill through both Houses again. Defenders of sovereignty understand that the best alternative would be to keep the House from bringing any "immigration bill" to the floor.
Now, in the minds and dreams of the progressives, enters the USCCB with its push to lobby the House of Representatives to pass "immigration reform". Recall that right now the progressives aren't too particular on the particulars, as it were. Their sights are set on the joint-conference version of the bill, but the House must pass a bill as a precursory step. Notice that all the pressure is being put on the House of Representatives.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why the Messiah Most Miserable and his Minions Most Mindless (particularly those in the USCCB, and I do mean you, Kevin Appleby!) are going "full press" on this matter. Let me now refer you to Father Z's blog; pay attention to his quote from Apostolos Suos, that reminds us that the USCCB does not speak with Magisterial authority, pretensions to the contrary.
I suppose both the USCCB and the Obama regime consider this arrangement a "win-win" proposition. From the USCCB perspective:
- They ingratiate themselves with the regime, gaining access to money and some political leverage
- They think they gain new Catholics in the pews - except that many of them join protestant sects upon arrival
- This, coupled with opposition to voter id requirements, gains them a whole new voting block - and just in time for the 2014 elections! How convenient!
- More demand will be put on American society for social services, etc, granting the regime prime opportunities to implement Cloward-Piven and an whole host of other Alinskyian tactics to bring about their socialist utopia.
- Pro-abort and pro-sodomy pols get to appear in a positive light by championing "compassion" and even win some photo-ops (Think of Obama at the Al Smith Dinner just before the election.)

Vatican Social Justice Apparatus Controlled By Progressives
Both this video and the report conclude by asking that all petition the Caritas director, Cardinal Maradiaga, to end all contact with the World Social Forum. I believe this suggested action would be akin to asking the fox to guard the hen house. I have written before about Cardinal Maradiaga, and his recent actions that suggest his embrace of the Cloward-Piven Strategy. Most notably I pointed out the key role he played in precipitating our recent crisis with thousands of Central Americans pouring across our borders. I think that along with prayer, the best we can do is to keep shining the light on these outfits and watch for any actions they may undertake in your locality so that you can best determine how to combat these.

Importance Of Latin Mass And Why Satan's Minions In The Catholic Hierarchy Hate It
Last week, Raymond Arroyo interviewed Cardinal Raymond Burke on the importance of the Traditional Latin Mass and why attempts to suppress it are gravely misguided and most likely engineered by demons themselves. LifeSiteNews summarized some highlights of that conversation. The entire exchange can be viewed in the clip below.
He commented, too, on the number of young people who are coming to the Traditional Latin Mass in great numbers. They are coming because they see the emphasis on Jesus Christ, and Him alone. They see it in the solemnity and the transcendence embodied in the liturgical form and language used. By the way, that draws many of us older types, too.
Later on, as you'll read in the article, His Eminence stated that the contact with God in the most sacred liturgy gives us the strength to overcome evil and do good in our lives. When I read those words, I thought of the Latin maxim "lex orandi, lex credendi, lex vivendi".
Now I will go out on a limb here and state some personal theories. Despite the best efforts of progressive bishops and even popes who seem hell-bent on deconstructing authentic Catholic faith, the Latin Mass continues to grow and attract Catholics. Might it be the ever-increasing grace, brought down by authentic worship, that has enabled people, particularly in those areas that have relative freedoms of speech, assembly and worship, to score victories against de facto tyrants in their civil leadership? Witness the election of Donald Trump in 2024. Witness those areas of the world that are standing up to the plague of illegal immigrants crashing through their borders. Was this mass border-crashing, largely by young Muslim men, a planned invasion designed to implement the Cloward-Piven strategy?
Why else would the progressive bishops, in the pockets of their liberal sugar-daddies, be waxing tyranical against the Tradtional Latin Mass? They understand its spiritual significance.
So if the liberal de facto apostates understand its significance, why do so many otherwise decent Catholics refuse to acknowledge the truth? I suppose some could be unaware of the Latin Mass, but these days, with information available at a few clicks of a mouse, I find that increasingly difficult to accept. Perhaps if they do, then they might realize that they can no longer sit on the fence and remain noncommittal about these matters.
I will now link to a piece written a while ago, just when Traditionis Custodes and all its spiritual poison was foisted on the Catholics in the pew. The author is quite correct when he states that not only are we permitted to resist the attempts to destroy the Mass of the Ages, but we have a solemn duty to do so. Not being a moral theologian, I cannot say whether or not such duty binds on pain of sin, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised to learn that it does.
Follow also the plight of faithful Catholics in the Diocese of Charlotte. Not only is the local bishop attacking the Latin Mass like a ravenous wolf, but he is also attacking piety during the Novus Ordo Masses. Altar rails and kneelers are being removed. In Catholic high schools, students will be compelled to "share" during Mass. I sure hope home-schooling increases there. These bishops hate the faith and any semblance of adherence to it. Are we awake yet?

Wake Up, America!
http://apathetic-usa.com/
I have blogged on a number of influences in the past
- Cloward-Piven strategy
- ACORN
- Saul Alinsky
Unfortunately, the USCCB is also a participant. Many of the state Catholic conferences follow suit. Why do you think that their first answer to any social problem is to petition for some governmental funding (with the money ultimately coming from taxes)? Think of that the next time "Junk Faith" peddles its nefarious teachings (often in contradiction to the Magiserium on personal morality and life issues). Think of that the next time some "environmental committee" snorts about "carbon footprints" and global-warming junk science. It's all a ploy to justify more governmental intrusion into our lives.
I'd like to say that they are simply dupes of the left-wing, but the people who occupy high positions in the USCCB have too many nefarious ties to other left-wing outfits for me to given them any benefit of doubt. In fact, no doubt exists in my opinion is that the leadership of the USCCB (certainly the lay leadership if not some bishops) are in complete cahoots with the progressives and are fully culpable for any harm that comes to this country and its citizens.
Remember all of this in November. Your vote counts!

Amnesty-Hawking Bishops Exploit Holy Mass
I almost forgot! Tomorrow we'll see the onslaught of amnesty rallies nationwide to protest deportation. They don't want one more lawbreaker deported! Got that? And of course the timing of these rallies, mere days after the Mass is just a coincidence! No puppet-string pullers here! Nope! (of course I'm being just a tad sarcastic).
We need to stand up to these progressives - and not be afraid to take these pandering bishops to task for selling the citizens of this country down the river.

MD Elections - Ballot Question 4
As you know (even if you may not accept it), there are a number of matters in this election that deal with intrinsic morality (abortion, homosexual relations, etc). A Catholic who takes his/her faith seriously, indeed the salvation of his/her soul, will never deviate from the Church's teachings on these matters. There are other issues that are within the realm of prudential judgment. Economic issues are an example. While we adhere to Christ's teaching to care for the poor, good people can and often do disagree on the proper means to do so. It is even permissible to have such disagreements with Church structures on these matters.
Question 4 is one such matter where intrinsic morality is not in question. Many good Catholics believe that the DREAM Act is seriously, even fatally flawed. I myself hold that opinion. Indeed, I believe this is one example of how the progressive elements in Church bureaucracies can ensnare themselves in imprudent alliances and actions.
Because this is a lengthy and thorough analysis,...
