Woe To You That Call Evil Good, And Good Evil

That passage from Isaiah 5:20 is a strong admonition to left-leaning Catholics who have joined the progressive clarion call to fight all kinds of what they consider to be "social injustices" that may not be unjust at all.  The measure of what is good or evil, just or unjust is to be found in the Church's teaching traditions of the past two centuries, as opposed to popular fads that are spewing forth from dissident Catholic quarters.

Let's look at immigration, since these left-wing quarters, from the top down (that means you, USCCB) are having hissy fits about President Trump's ongoing efforts to expel foreign invaders.  The left-wing, clergy included, refuse to acknowledge that our concerns lie not with those who immigrate in conformity with our applicable laws, but with those who flout our laws and sneak inside the US.  They are, by definition, criminals.  They are breaking US law that does comply with Catholic moral theology.  In obfuscating that important distinction, they commit serious sins against the Eighth Commandment.  I've written a bit on this topic over the years; here's a collection of it.  So in this case, what's being called "evil" is the responsible regulating of immigration and what's being called "good" is the direct disobedience of immigration laws and being accessories to these crimes.

Let's move to another darling cause of the progressives - gun control.  The left is all gung-ho on this bugaboo, not addressing the fact that criminals, by definition, disobey laws.   The only ones impacted would be law-abiding citizens who desire to own firearms for the protection of themselves and their families.  Whenever a shooting happens, immediately the left starts kveling about the need for firearm restriction - never the apprehension of criminals.  Would that impinge too greatly on the Democratic voting base?  Look at England.  They've essentially outlawed guns, so what happens? Knife attacks arise - surprise!  The "geniuses" governing England are now into (wait for it!) knife-control!  Same thing in Red China!

Again, I've written a bit about that.  See here.  Please note that the top post explains why I believe that the USCCB's stance on gun control runs counter to Catholic moral theology.  Once upon a time I believed that this was an area in which good people could disagree.  I no longer hold onto that delusion.  The right to adequate self defense is a moral good that no one may call evil, on pain of sin.  A former pro-life leader, Rob Schenck, has glommed onto the erroneous push for arms banning, and in the process has allowed his thinking on basic pro-life issues to become corrupted.  I'll have more to say on that later.

Let's move on to the death penalty or capital punishment.  If gun control is an attack on the good of self-defense, the push to eliminate the death penalty is an attack on the good of civil government protecting its citizens from violent criminals.  Again, the USCCB and their dutiful puppets are lock-step with their Soros-esque sugar-daddies in their shielding of criminals from the death penalty.  Again, I've written much on that and won't rehash everything, but will elaborate on one major point.  In the past, all the popes have upheld the legitimacy and the good of capital punishment.  The most recent catechism from Pope John Paul II does the same.  However, last year Pope Francis annnounced his intention to rewrite the catechism to say that the death penalty is inadmissable.  I said it then, I'll say it now; THIS IS HERESY.   Of course the USCCB intends to happily comply in promulgating this heresy.  So now the good of capital punishment has been called evil, and this error has reached the proportions of full-blown heresy.

The USCCB, their obedient state-wide counterparts and the rest of their lapdogs are fully engaged in calling good "evil", and evil "good".  They have jettisoned all authentic moral bearing for the favors of money, power, and worldly prestige.  In so doing they have allowed their own thinking to become clouded, as have those who unthinkingly swallow the progressive bile simply because it comes from men wearing miters.

However, there have been pro-life leaders who, themselves succumbing to the siren calls of emotion-based leftwing sentiments, have allowed their pro-life beliefs to become weak and uncertain.  In other words, by assuming progressive positions on immigration, gun control, etc, they have assumed progressive positions in pro-life matters as well.  I have already mentioned Rob Schenck a few paragraphs back.  He now supports the legalized murder of children.  Another former pro-life leader, John Cavanaugh-O'Keefe, became so enamored of progressivism that he cast his vote for the rabidly pro-abortion Hillary Clinton in 2016.  Both of these men clearly called evil "good".

Ladies and gentlemen, liberalism is harmful to the soul and can impede eternal salvation.

Modern Liberalism Is A Social Sin

For the first eight years of my school life, I attended parochial schools, then a private girls' high school - all Catholic.  The first five years of my religious education were unscathed by the so-called "spirit of Vatican II".  That all changed when I reached the sixth grade in fall of 1967.  I sensed the seismic shift as solid doctrine was exchanged for, well, I'm not sure what.  One of my more memorable "lessons" was when we were "learning" (?) about "freedom"; it started by us listening to a recording of Andy Williams singing "Born Free".  In lessons teaching about being "salt of the earth" we were "taught" that "Martin Luther King is salt of the earth".  At the time, Dr King was alive yet he was being de facto "canonized" by my classroom teachers.

We were also introduced to a term called "social sin".  Hitherto, we never heard of it, but we were hearing of it non-stop, to the exclusion of the doctrines of the Faith.  "Social sins" included the usual progressive bugaboos: racism, poverty and war.  The latter was quite politically charged, as the Vietnamese conflict was in full swing.  At any rate, "social sin" was the topic du jour, and being a faithful Catholic was equated to "working for social justice".

However, as anyone with working eyes and ears knows, "social justice" had really nothing to do with the individual Catholic donating any of his time or resources to combat problems.  No!  The main thrust of "Catholic social justice" was meant to lobby government to redistribute wealth to people deemed disadvantaged.  We were in fact demanding that the government act as our surrogates in terms of administering charity.  What we failed - or refused - to acknowledge is that in doing so, our charity ceased to be true charity, as the government taxed its citizenry to fund these efforts while mutating into an onerous behemoth

Pope St John Paul II, in his encyclical Solicitudo Rei Socialis, said that "social sin" proceeds from the accumulation of personal sins.  In other words, our violations of the Ten Commandments, Precepts of the Church, etc are at the root of social ills of the world.

Ironically, in its reckless haste to take up the "social justice" mantra while neglecting its true God-given mission to save souls, the Church hierarchy in this country unleashed a number of serious problems that themselves would accurately be termed "social sin", for they institutionalize a number of violations of God's commands and even elevate them to the level of "civic virtue".
  • In its call for government to take on roles for which it never was designed, these early progressives paved the way for the principle of subsidiarity to be disdained.  Local charities waned in importance while both church and the poor looked to governments to solve their problems.
  • In tasking government with charitable duties, the church gave its nod of approval to ever-increasing taxation to fund these undertakings.  Calling it "wealth redistribution" or "distributive justice", the church hierarchy gave tacit approval to rank violations of the Seventh Commandment.
  • The Church continues to look the other way as welfare is now a way of life for too many.  One of the early requirements for being a welfare recipient was the absence of a bread-winner in the family.  Thus black fathers left their homes, having devastating consequences:
    • Large number of children out of wedlock
    • Absence of fathers in the homes having devastating effects effects on children, leading to drug abuse, sexual promiscuity, criminalization (especially boys)
Now, in these days following the inauguration of President Trump's administration, the altruistic facade of liberalism is crumbling.  Its adherents, perhaps idealistic if naive in their early allegiance to liberalism, have been corrupted over the years by the de facto idolatry that has ascribed to government the status and honor due to God alone.  Some examples include:
  • The riots following Trump's victory in various cities.  While carrying placards declaring that Trump is "not my president", liberal hellions have set fire to cars, smashed shop windows and attacked others who dared so much as to wear pro-Trump clothing.
  • The "march for women" that featured Madonna threatening to blow up the White House, Ashly Judd ranting about her "nastiness" and hundreds of attendees dressed in "vagina" costumes
  • Highly-placed Democrats (such as Tim Kaine) issuing calls for continued street violence
  • Environmentalists openly calling for abortion to "protect the environment".
  • The "spontaneous" anti-Trump airport protests engineered by George Soros
  • The planned protest in Chicago to get Trump to release tax records - by mooning Trump Towers (How they think that will work is anyone's guess)
  • Global-warming alarmists admitting that their real goal is the destruction of capitalism
  • Increasing violence aimed at pro-lifers at baby-killing centers
  • The violent riots at Berkeley (again!)
These are recent occurrences.  There remains, on the part of the progressive bishops embroiled in the social sin of modern liberalism, the deafening silence regarding baby-murder and sins of the flesh, the non-stop kiss-ups to prominent pro-abortion personalities, the elevation of "global warming" to the de facto status of dogma, etc.

One tiny silver lining in the dark clouds of all the violence and mayhem committed by liberals is that their oh-so-sanctimonious veneer is crumbling from their collective face so that all who have eyes can see the vile evil underneath.  Of course the mainstream media (including "official" Catholic outlets) will, like the good little lap dogs that they are, do their damndest to sweep it under the rug.  If you're reading this, you've already discovered how to bypass the leftist media to get to some real information.  Please pass this along to your friends who may not be aware.

Corrupt, Weak-Minded And Weak-Willed Lechers Occupy High Offices In Maryland

So many pro-lifers in Maryland are at a loss to understand how sloppy and murderous abortionists like Leroy Carhart are given a free pass to ply their grisly affairs.  The answer to these dilemmas is both disgusting and simple.  Watch how Maryland Deputy AG Thiruvendran Vignarajah tries to seduce an undercover reporter.  In the process, he discloses how he'd like to strip law-abiding citizens of their Second Amendment rights and give the Messiah Most Miserable assistance in growing an ever-encroaching governmental behemoth.  He repeatedly states how these are top-secret affairs.  Well bust my britches!  Isn't the AG's office supposed to be about public business?  If so, by what logical contortion do these demagogues justify shielding their doings from public scrutiny?  And guess what?  The AG is married, so he's obviously of a mind to commit adultery.

If this isn't a clear indication of the correlation between "big-government progressivsm" and "sexual immorality", I don't know what is.  It is an indication of why the Church establishment (that means you, Maryland Catholic Conference!), should stop cozying up to these depraved individuals, for "if you sleep with dogs, you will get fleas".

At any rate, please share and make this go viral.  Hopefully Maryland citizens will recall this the next time Annapolis comes up for a vote.  Meanwhile, Maryland Conservative Action Network suggests that we call the AG office (Brian Frosh) and demand that he discipline his deputy: (410) 576-6300 or 1 (888) 743-0023.  Kudos to Project Veritas for their important work.

Left-Wing Campaign Strategies?

Yes, the Code Pink faction of the Minions Most Mindless is coming to the rescue of their adored Messiah Most Miserable!  They hope that their presidential campaign strategy will save the day for Barack HUSSEIN Obama!  And just what, pray tell, is this innovative, cutting-edge strategy?  (drum roll and trumpets, please!)

(Code Pink's words, not mine!)  "Send Your V to the RNC!"

You can read about it on the redredhead blog, along with "artistic representations".  On the most basic scientific level, these dumb broads don't know the difference between "vulva" and "vagina".  More to the point, they themselves are meting out to women the treatment of which they accused the "male chauvanistic pigs" around 40 years ago.  They're objectifying women (meaning themselves), representing themselves as mere body parts.  My friend at Les Femmes has a very telling photo of some of those pathetic dames.  Is this the end-product of feminism?

With these hare-brained antics, the progressives are letting the world know that liberalism is brain-rot.  If they really think this will help Obama come November, let them carry on in their delusions.  But pray for their repentance, as they are toying with their eternal fates.

Why Liberalism Is Inherently Immoral

First let me state plainly that there are decent people and yes, sincere Catholics who do favor liberalism in terms of government intervention in matters of charity.  We saw many of these people befuddled last year about the Obama Hell Bill.  They honestly believe that the Hell bill would be wonderful if only abortion were expunged from it.  They do not understand that even if it forbade abortion, it would still be inherently immoral.  However, sincere those these Catholics are, they are simply wrong about this brand of liberalism and their sincerety will not mitigate the harmful effects of their errors.

A few years ago, I had occasion to write about the Maryland Catholic Conference's dalliance with such errors.  Read the piece here, and please make sure you read the offending article on the MCC web page to which my piece links.

I will be writing more on these matters in the future.  For now, I will leave you with this Vortex.  Click here if you cannot see embedded video.

Mainstream Media In The Back Pocket Of George Soros

Two weeks ago, I brought to your attention a Fox News report on the tenacles of George Soros in the mainstream-lamebrain media.  CNS News gives us more information on the millions that Soros has poured into mainstream-lamebrain media.  That link goes to the third part of a four-part series.  A link to the author will in turn link to the others (at this writing, the fourth part is not yet released).

Many people still do not question the media, although more and more of them are waking up.  Read these reports to get an idea of the brains and motivation behind what is being spoon-fed to so many people today.

Minions Of The Nanny-State! Beware!

To the aforementioned group, I issue this advisory.  The truth about your proclivities WILL be spoken here.  You are being exposed, and the truth will hurt.  So proceed at your own risk!!

Still with us?  Alrighty, then!  You've been duly warned!

Have you ever wondered how it is that the same pro-abortion crowd who loudly proclaim "keep your laws off my body!" as they murder helpless children have absolutely no compunction whatsoever about barging into our kitchens, living rooms and cars to dictate what we'll eat and how we'll drive?  One big answer is relatively simple.  They think by waxing self-righteous on relatively trivial matters, that they can somehow assuage their consciences that have been seared by their sexual immorality and advocacy of legalized murder of helpless children.

Boys and girls, can we all say the word "pharisee"?  Phariseeim is NOT the following of the law to the letter, as so many liberals would have us believe.  It is the attempt to substitute man-made traditions for  God's law.  Want proof?  Read  Mark 7:1-9.

We even see that in many of the Church's "social justice" crusades who both crusade for the poor (a good in and of itself) while at the same time advocating dissent from the Magisterium's key teachings and/or celebrating those who do dissent.  A great "case-in-point" is the Catholic Charities Centenial Celebration that ends tonight; I've posted details in a previous post.  Another dismal sign of that is the so-called Just Faith program that has infested way too many parishes in the Archdiocese of Washington.  Jack Jesreel, its founder, openly brags how his so-called "ministry" has influenced Catholics to "crusade" for women's ordination and gay rights.

Watch Michael Voris' take on this pattern.  (Click here if you can't see embedded video).

Wake Up, America!

Please click on the link that follows, then watch the video in its entirety.  It gives an excellent synopsis of the motoves and machinations of Obama and the progressive cartel in power currently, and who are in fact knowingly facilitating the deconstruction and rot of our country.

http://apathetic-usa.com/

I have blogged on a number of influences in the past
  1. Cloward-Piven strategy
  2. ACORN
  3. Saul Alinsky
Just put anyone of them in the little search box and click on the magnifying glass.

Unfortunately, the USCCB is also a participant.  Many of the state Catholic conferences follow suit.  Why do you think that their first answer to any social problem is to petition for some governmental funding (with the money ultimately coming from taxes)?  Think of that the next time "Junk Faith" peddles its nefarious teachings (often in contradiction to the Magiserium on personal morality and life issues).  Think of that the next time some "environmental committee" snorts about "carbon footprints" and global-warming junk science.  It's all a ploy to justify more governmental intrusion into our lives.

I'd like to say that they are simply dupes of the left-wing, but the people who occupy high positions in the USCCB have too many nefarious ties to other left-wing outfits for me to given them any benefit of doubt.  In fact, no doubt exists in my opinion is that the leadership of the USCCB (certainly the lay leadership if not some bishops) are in complete cahoots with the progressives and are fully culpable for any harm that comes to this country and its citizens.

Remember all of this in November.  Your vote counts!

We Have No King But.......

This clip from Real Catholic TV gives a brief definition of the role of civil government.  Michael Voris rightly decries those who look to government to solve their problems, and he also states that it's mostly left-wingers who do so.  I'll take that a step further by illustrating why I believe that liberalism and atheism feed each other.  The atheist claims there is no God.  However, such a claim violates his very nature, as we all recognize a need for God, be that need conscious or unconscious.  Nature abhors a vacuum.  So what, then, becomes the god of the atheist?  Well, there are the usual suspects: money, pleasure, comfort, convenience - but there's another choice of false deity - government!   I truly believe that is why so many atheists are lovers of Big Government and haters of the One True God.

"Too many Catholics look to the State to solve problems that the Church should be solving."  That does describe the modus operandi of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.  Let us learn the principle of subsidiarity.  Let us learn why Pope Pius XI condemned socialism.  Let such knowledge govern our votes this coming November.

A note to left-wing lawyers regarding my previous sentence.  We are NOT a "501(c)" anything!  Among other things, there are no muzzles upon what we can say, be it political, partisan or whatever.  So stop salivating, now!  There is no lawsuit fodder here!

Wise Words of Warning From Pope Saint Pius X

This clip from Real Catholic TV focuses on the dangers of modernism, as foretold by Pope Saint Pius X.  Saint Pius wrote an encyclical called Pascendi Dominici Gregis.  I link to it because I highy recommend its reading.  As you read it, you might well think that this was something written two years ago, as so many dangers and perils, abuses and neglects, will seem so well-portrayed in this letter.  It was written over one hundred years ago.  Note that Pius was writing primarily on modernism as it was eating away at the Church from the inside, not so much the outside.

The secularists and humanists are certainly a patient lot.  However, in many ways, we have been complacent and lacking in vigilance.  In Voris's words, "the history of mankind is shaped by one thing, and one thing only: whether man is moving towards God or away from God."  Notice that there's no middle ground.  We have been duped into thinking that there is a "plateau".  Rather, we've allowed ourselves to be duped.  In reality, the "plateau" is a very subtle descent.

Help! I live in Montgomery County Liberal Loony-Bin!

I live in a county that teaches children how to put condoms on vegetables, but not what an unborn child looks like. We're taxed to oblivion while at the same time building $65k restrooms for the county executive. Yet we keep electing into office such charlatans, and I wonder at times how we can do so. I wonder at times how that can be.

Sadly, I am reminded how that can be. We elect such incompetents because many of the voters are clearly out of touch with reality. I beheld evidence of such spacy-brained mentality when I viewed some bumper strips on a car that I'll now share below.
According to this first lovely gem, I can blow my nose into a tissue, but I'd better be careful about tossing that tissue into a trash can, because that tissue might be a long-lost family menber. After all, it does say that "with all things we shall be as relatives," does it not? For that matter, does blowing my nose into that tissue constitute "tissue-abuse"? I'd better be careful what I say, because some sort of person (such as the owner of the vehicle) might take me seriously!
Moving along the bumper of that vehicle, we see the one below.
Most likely, you are reading this on a a computer that belongs to you. The computer is yours because you paid for it (or it was given to you by someone who in turn paid for it). Soooo... how much did the earth pay for you? Nada-zippo. To whom does the earth belong? It, and every human being, belongs to God. That's why it is a sin of the most grievous magnitude to murder another person - such as in the abortion of tiny babies. I could be wrong, but I suspect this car owner, and far too many folks, don't believe in God. They have no foundation in any truth whatsoever. There is a saying. "They who believe in nothing will fall for anything." Don't we see so much evidence of that? We see two pieces of that evidence on this blog right now.
