Obama And Keehan Gloat Together

The meeting about which I posted Sunday did indeed occur this past Tuesday.  Obama did crow before the Catholic Health Association.  During that speech he told the CHA and in particularly Sister Carol Keehan.  Some snippets:
  • "We could not have gotten the ACA done without Sister Carol.."
  • "Without your (im)moral force we could not have succeeded.." (italicized letters my editorial contribution)
These statements of the Messiah Most Miserable are factually correct.  They underscore the utter betrayal wrought by Sister Carol Keehan and her poorly-named Catholic Healthcare Association.  I won't go into all the other evils of Obamacare; suffice it to say that its facilitation of abortion and contraception, even to the point of forcing Catholics to pay for it, is a complete, utter travesty.  During the meeting, Obama quipped, "I just love nuns generally."  Somehow I don't think the Little Sisters of the Poor are "feeling the luuuv!" from the Messiah Most Miserable.

Catholic Health Association To Prostitute Itself (Again!) To Obama

The Catholic Health Association, with Sister Carol Keehan still at the helm, just commenced a three-day meeting at the Marriott Wardham Park in northwest Washington DC.  They will be discussing Obamacare (crammed down our throats with the help of Keehan) and the "future" of health care.

To add insult to the injury, the three-day gab-fest will conclude this Tuesday June 9 with an address from the Messiah Most Miserable himself.  Gushes Keehan (with my comments in red), "As long-time supporters of a health care system that works for everyone not the unborn babies and those facing death panels and pays special attention to those who are poor and vulnerable, we are grateful for the President’s leadership on the ACA you know, the 2000+ page monstrosity that Pelosi said we'd have to pass to learn what's in it."

Work demands will keep me from protesting; otherwise I'd be there raising my voice.  The Catholic Health Association does not deserve to be called Catholic, given the way it threw not only the Catholic Church, but the entire country under the bus, all so they could curry the favor of the obamanista regime; and now they're gloating over it.  I am grateful that this affair isn't occurring on Catholic property and pray that no prelates will be in attendance (that means you, Cardinal McCarrick!).

CHA Supports Final HHS Mandate - Surprise! Not!

Contradicting the nation's bishops prior opposition, the Catholic Health Association (led by Sr Carol Keehan of the Pen of Perfidy) has announced its support of the Obamacare rule forcing all to purchase abortion coverage.  Let's hope and pray that Sister is not invited to Cardinal McCarrick's next birthday party.

I won't reinvent the wheel in unpacking what just transpired.  Read Matt Bowman's analysis on the Catholic Vote page.  Now notice that I emphasized the word "prior" in my first sentence.  That's because the USCCB has yet to issue its statement.  They're still "studying" it, you see?  What is there to "study"?  The answer is that the damned thing is unacceptable in light of Christ's teachings on human life.  If they're looking for "wiggle room", they should man up and admit that they can't "yok it up" with Obama on this one and be the bishops they were called to be.  After doing that, they can excommunicate Sister Carol and the rest of the "pantsuit brigade".

Catholic Commentary On SCOTUS Ruling - The Good And Not-So-Good

First let's look at the Vortex's take on the matter.  Click here if you can't see embedded video.

He focuses on one statement of Roberts: "It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices."  Be Roberts' other statements ever so erroneous, this one isn't!  We need to look no further than the Catholic vote, and inane prattlings from "katholyc" persons and entities for prime examples of sheer stupidity.

Let's take a look at the statement that the USCCB issued on June 28th as a commentary to the Supreme Court ruling; it's posted on their website.  As you read it, take note of the fact that they don't oppose the individual mandate in principle.  In the second paragraph we read that "USCCB..took no position on the specific questions posed to the court".  They do oppose the coercion of religious employers to fund sterilization, contraceptives and abortifacients.  The "million dollar question" I have for the USCCB is this:  How on earth can you claim mandate exemptions for religious organizations (including yourselves) yet look with approval upon the forcing of other people to purchase any commodity which they may not desire to have (for whatever reason)?  Dear USCCB, your stance reeks of sheer hypocrisy!!

Sister Simone Campbell, who is leading the Nuts Nuns On The Luxury Bus schmooze tour, issued an opinion that was published on a Washington Post blog.  After all the contortions that she puts forth, she opines of Obamacare that "this law is pro-life".  Amazing, but you read it yourself!  Of course she'll never meet the babies that will be killed by the abortifacients that Obamacare will coerce the public to fund.  As those children are nothing to the Obama cartel, so they are to Campbell and her NETWORK bus bunch.

In other related news, we read that Sister Carol Keehan and her so-called "Catholic" Health Association are "pleased" by the Obamacare ruling.  Moreover, she states that the CHA signed amicus briefs urging the SCOTUS to rule in favor of Obamacare.  Well, golly-gee-whiz!!  After we all thought she was beginning to wake up and smell some coffee!   Some progressive operative must have taken her to the woodshed - or perhaps promised her another Pen of Perfidy.  Yawn!  This is no earth-shattering shock.

So as not to end this post on such a dour note, I link now to an interview with Archbishop Joseph Naumann of the Archdiocese of Kansas in Kansas conducted by the Catholic World Report.  He has good things to say regarding the principle of subsidiarity (a principle obviously disregarded and even disobeyed by the USCCB as illustrated above), why the social justice arm of the USCCB was wrong to demonize Paul Ryan's budget proposal and more.  Please read it.  In a subsequent post I will put forth my opinion on what we must do if we wish to fend off the Obamacare monster.

Sister Carol Keehan! Help Baby Joseph!

I echo the call of my fellow blogger for Sister Carol Keehan and her Catholic Health Association to step up to the plate and put her money where her mouth is!  Lord knows with that salary, she has ample resources for the same.

C'mon!  Father Frank Pavone has a plane waiting to help the boy!  Where are you?  Take out that Pen of Perfidy and put it to good use for a change!

Yoo-Hoo!  Are you there???

A CCHD / Catholic Health Association Link??

On November 17, I posted about a panel of Catholic women, at which both John Carr and Sister Carol Keehan spoke.  Both of them were whining about "polarization", which is to say they were whining about their double-talk being exposed.  That post of mine had other links containing information about John Carr.  In a nutshell, he is the Executive Director of the USCCB's Department of Justice, Peace and Human Development; this is the office that oversees the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.  Sister Carol Keehan is, of course, the "religious" (?) who violated her vows and sold countless babies and other helpless people down the river when she aided and abetted the passage of the Obama Hell Bill.

Recall a few weeks ago, when there were calls for the USCCB to sever its ties with the Catholic Health Association (of which Keehan is president) because of the latter's influence in the passage of the Hell Bill.  The USCCB demurs - of course.  You may also recall that this blog and other good sources have noticed, amongst the progressives who call themseles Catholic, that there are numerous "sharings" of directors and board members, etc.  Well, one such sordid little tie came to my attention this week, between the Catholic Health Association and the USCCB.  That "connection" has a name - John Carr!  One can see it on Carr's biography on the USCCB's websiteJohn Carr sits on the board of directors of the Catholic Health Association. (A word to the USCCB trolls.  Don't bother to "edit" this incriminating little tidbit.  I cached the page already!)

This may shed some light as to why calls to sever any USCCB/CHA relationship were brushed off by the USCCB.  Remember - John Carr has oversight of the CCHD.  Also recall that we have yet to see the CCHD's 2011 Grantee List.

ALL Urges Bishops To End Relationship With Catholic Health Association

Today the Ameican Life League issued a press release urging the USCCB to end its relationship with the Catholic Health Association.  The press release lists a number of outrages committed by the CHA, some of which were mentioned here previously.  I urge you to read the release, and review the materials linked therein.

I would actually take this a step further, as I believe that both organizations do a gross disservice to the Church.  You might recall that USCCB president, Archbishop Timothy Dolan, stated a few days ago, regarding USCCB and CHA, "philosophically, we're on the same page."  I fear he is correct, but not in the way he'd like us to think.  Both organizations need to be abolished.

Another Dissident Nun Rewarded By Obama

Remember a few days ago, when I reported the breathtaking naivte of Archbishop Dolan when he said of the Catholic Health Association and the USCCB "philosophically we're on the same page"?  Your Excellency, we all hope and pray that you're incorrect, because the leopard known as the Catholic Health Association is not changing its stripes - and makes no bones about it!

Last week Sister Carol Keehan reiterated her support for the Phoenix hospital that authorized the murder of a baby.  Sure, she paid some perfunctory lip service to Bishop Olmsted's authority, but golly gee, she had no idea those statements would be made public.  My!  Isn't it so, so difficult to remain two-faced when your statements are broadcast?  Well, push comes to shove and she comes down squarely on the side of baby-murder.

It now appears that another dissident nun now enjoys the good will of the Messiah Most Miserable for her assistance in passing the Obama Hell Scare bill.  This would be Sister Marlene Weisenbeck, who is the chair of the CHA's Sponsorship/Canon Law Committee (probably a lot more expert on the "sponsorship" than the "canon law" part - I digress again!).  She is also a former president of the Leadership Council of Women Religious.  The Messiah Most Miserable appointed her to his Council for Faith-Based Partnerships.  Why?  Because while she was president of the LCWR, she led them in their support of the Hell Bill.  So now in this plum appointment Weisenbeck has received her "30 pieces of silver".

USCCB Kisses Up To Catholic Health Association

Remember when USCCB President Bishop Timothy Dolan referred to God, during a televised interview, as "him, her, whatever you want"?  Well, once again he has managed to cram both episcopal feet into his episcopal mouth (thanks to ALL for the alert, by the way".  In an interview last month with National Catholic Reporter, the bishop had this to say about relations with the Catholic Health Association: “It’s not that the CHA is working on the side of the hospitals, while the bishops are trying to preserve a pure morality because it’s being chipped away.  Philosophically, we’re on the same page.”

As Judie Brown said, a history lesson is in order for the USCCB president.  Not only did the CHA give the Obama Hell Scare Bill the final push it needed to pass the House, but Sister Carol Keehan placed herself on the side of St Joseph's hospital in Phoenix, when the latter was stripped of its Catholic status for authorizing an abortion to be committed on its premises.

In light of these events, how on earth can the USCCB state of the CHA "philosophically, we're on the same page"?  Could it be that the USCCB knows that Sister has Obama's favor and gratitude for her treachery towards the Church and the babies in helping cram through the Hell Bill?  Why is there this incessant practice on the part of the USCCB to lick the boots of those who wield clout in the kingdom of this world?

Some call for the reform of the USCCB.  I call for its complete abolishment, thankful that this cabal wields no inherent majesterial authority.  Then I'd suggest study of Pope Leo XIII encyclical, as mentioned in yesterday's post.

CHA = Catholic Health Asininity

Today's Pewsitter was quite informativie about more lunacy emanating from the so-called "Catholic" Health Association.  Recall that a few days ago, the Obama Hell Bill was ruled unconstitutional.  The main focus was the individual mandate provision, but because the bill lacks a severability clause, the whole thing was thrown out - as it should have been!  However, six medical groups filed an amicus curie brief to preserve the Obama Hell bill.  Amongst these was - you guessed it! - the Catholic Health Association.  Sister Carol Keehan must be worried that if the Obama Hell Bill goes in the trash, her Pen of Perfidy will run out of ink!  Pewsitter asks a good question, though.  Since the USCCB did not support the House's vote to repeal the mess, what might have been their collective opinion of CHA's stance on the suit?

In related news, many learned last week that Catholic Healthcare West, a subsidiary of the CHA, is funding a network that includes Planned Parenthood.  We all will recall that a few months ago, Bishop Olmsted of Phoenix rapped the knuckles of CHW by stripping one of their hospitals of its status as "Catholic" for authorizing an abortion within its premises.  Sadly, I'm not surprised.

Sr Carol Keehan Talks Out Of Both Sides Of Mouth

Sr Carol must be smarting from well-deserved rebukes that faithful Catholics have been giving her, since she sold unborn babies and elderly/infirm people down the river with her despicable support of the Obama Hell Bill.  She is supporting (well, kinda!) the Protect Life Act, H.R. 358.  She wrote to Joe Pitts, and I quote (from Lifenews, and I'll highlight interesting portions) the following.

I am writing to applaud your efforts to ensure the protection of the unborn and of providers’ conscience rightsWe want to offer our support for your legislation, H.R. 358, the Protect Life Act.  While we continue to believe the current provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) prevent federal funding of abortion (Sister, whom do you think you're fooling?), your legislation will provide further protection by codifying the Hyde amendment relative to the new health care reform law. We also appreciate the bill’s additions to the conscience protections which hospitals and health care providers already have under the Weldon Amendment. We look forward to working with you to ensure access to life-affirming health care coverage for all.”

Sister, thank you for voicing support of H.R. 358.  I hope it lasts and isn't (ahem!) "reconsidered".  What will really affirm life and protection for all vulnerable people is if you and CHA lobby for passage of H.R. 2 in the U.S. Senate.  Of course it would be nice if the USCCB got on board with that, too.

Sister Carol Keehan Sides With Hospital, Not Bishop

Truth be told, I was very much expecting to see this.  The Catholic Health Association released this statement by Sister Carol Keehan.  Of course in this statement, she directly contradicts the bishop and takes issue with Bishop Olmsted's proper use of his episcopal authority.

Of course all will remember her for the pivotal role she played in the passage of the Obama Hell bill - which in itself will facilitate the abortions of untold numbers of tiny children.  She offered this support in direct opposition to the USCCB.  Thus it is no wonder that she feels a "bond of disobedience", as it were, with St. Joseph's Hospital.

Guess Who's Endorsing the New Health-Rationing Czar???

The Messiah Most Miserable did a "recess appointment" yesterday, nominating Dr Donald Berwick as administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.  He has made numerous statements at odds with decent medicine regarding health rationing and end-of-life issues.

Well, guess who issued this statement, "We agree that the administration needs Dr. Berwick in place now as CMS chief in order to work on the mandates created under the health care overhaul, especially since CMS has not had a permanent administrator since 2006..Dr. Berwick is a visionary with great insight and knowledge of the health care delivery system based on his perspectives as a physician and teacher, as well as being a decades' long champion for safe, effective high-quality care."

Can't guess?  Here are some hints:
  1. Cardinal McCarrick has gone out of his way to honor her.
  2. A goodly number of us picketed her appearance at Gonzaga's commencement.
  3. The USCCB issued public statements deploring her stances.
Yep!  It's Sister Carol Keehan!  How many times can she put her foot in her mouth?  Perhaps as many times as it requires to ensure that the Catholic Health Association gets a "piece of the pie"?  Of course that's just speculation, but an arguably reasonable one - wouldn't you say?

Cardinal George, What Did You Say?

A few days ago, it was reported that Cardinal George, president of the USCCB, criticized the Catholic Health Association for lending support to the Obama Hell Bill.  Frankly, I was rather pleased to hear that.  Yes, it was "too little too late", but at least some protest was uttered - or so I thought!

Today we hear that Helen Osman, secretary for communications for the USCCB, charged the Catholic News Agency with dishonesty in its coverage of Cardinal George's remarks on the Hell Bill.  She claims that the Cardinal never made such remarks.

Alejandro Bermudez, director of the CNA, challenged Osman to release the recording of Cardinal George's talk.  She refuses to do so because it's "confidential".  I echo my friend at Les Femmes as she asks, "what's the big secret?"

An Excellent Email to Gonzaga - And Silly Response from Gonzaga!

A reader of this blog sent the following email to the Gonzaga administration this past Friday. I commend her for the research that she did and do commend the links to your reading. The linked information sheds additional light on the nefarious deeds of Sister Carol Keehan and like-minded cronies, and the harm that they are doing to the Faith and to human life in general. And now, the email…

Archbishop Naumann Calls "Catholyc Hell Association" on the Carpet

From Lifesite News.  Thank you, Archbishop Naumann of Kansas City!

"Catholyc" Health Association Kisses Up to Obama Hell Bill

(bloggers' note:  because of what will follow, I'll rename this bunch "catholyc hell association")

We read from Lifenews that the catholyc hell association, under the less-than-stellar leadership of Sister Carol Keehan is endorsing the Obama Hell bill - in its current form.  "The time is now for health reform," she stated.

In what could win a prize as "The Understatement of the Year", she admitted that the Hell Bill is "far from perfect."  BUT - then she said it "is an historic opportunity to make great improvements in the lives of so many Americans."  Conveniently she omits that it forebodes historic threats to the lives of many more Americans.

Contact information is in the article, towards the bottom, where you may go to express disgust.
