Rosa DeLauro Wastes Catholic Newsprint

Catholic News Service, the propaganda arm media outlet of the USCCB, conducted an interview of Rosa DeLauro, Democratic Congresswoman from Connecticut.  Because her name has a familiar sound to me, I looked her up on my blog.  Sure enough, I posted about her in the past.  She and a gang of other CINO pro-abortion politicians wrote an open letter to Cardinal McCarrick demanding that he not deny them Holy Communion simply because they support the murder of babies (minor matter, that!).  As I said before, they need not have bothered, but I digress!

She's taking the opportunity to rip into the budget proposed by Congressman Paul Ryan.  It seems that his budget cuts too much into the socialistic "social justice" pet projects of both the progressives in Congress and the progressives in the USCCB.  She also tears into Archbishop Dolan for his leadership in opposing the encroachment of the religious freedoms of real Catholics by the Messiah Most Miserable and his Minions Most Mindless (one of whom was being interviewed by CNS).  Perhaps some elements of the USCCB are embarrassed by the Archbishop and feel they must make nice-nice to the CINO cabal in Congress.

If the Catholic Church in the US wants to slash its expenditures and redirect them to charity, they'd do well to abolish the USCCB.  What a waste of Catholic dollars!

Surprise! Obamacare Will Extort Money From Catholics To Pay For Contraceptives!

Actually, the real surprise is that anyone is surprised about this!  Yes, the Messiah Most Miserable has made plain that all insurance plans must pay for contraceptives, sterilization and abortifacients.  That includes Catholic employers.  Here's the HHS statement.  And yes, pro-abortion "katholyc" Kathleen Sebelius is a chief messianic battle-ax with regards to this draconian pronouncement.  But don't worry!  Some churches etc will have an entire year to "figure out how to violate our consciences", as Cardinal-designate Timothy Dolan so aptly stated.  He issued a video response to the mandate that is posted on the USCCB site.  This dismal state of affairs may well be on the mind of the Holy Father; read his "ad limina" address to the bishops as he comments on the deteriorating state of affairs between the Church and the White House.

Of course the NARAL and Planned Parenthood types are just as giddy as they can be about this ruling, as it gives them greater leeway to pick our pockets while they engage in the slaughter of babies.  I suppose they can now justify the campaign donations that the Messiah Most Miserable will be asking of them.  It's so convenient that this ruling is coming so close to a presidential election - but maybe it's just a coincidence!

I understand that even Sister Carol Keehan, who was so instrumental in foisting this monstrosity upon us two years ago, takes a dim view of this HHS development.  She said that they are "a missed opportunity to be clear on appropriate conscience protection.  The challenge that these regulations posed for many groups remains unresolved.  This indicates the need for an effective national conversation on the appropriate conscience protections in our pluralistic country, which has always respected the role of religions."  Sister, with all due respect, there are some things you and your buddies need to hear, and I'll start with four little words: WE TOLD YOU SO

A little aside - when Sister Carol Keehan gave the address to the Gonzaga graduating class in June 2010, we protested that because she sold us all down the river with her support of the Obama Hell Bill.  We knew precisely what she wrought on our country and church and we voiced these problems mightily.  Some obviously took issue with us.  Well now the chickens are coming home to roost!  I regret the necessity of pointing out to you that our outrage against Sister's appearance at Gonzaga is now justified in spades!  I will also say, though, that it's nice to see some signs of her waking up and smellng the proverbial coffee.  Hopefully that's not "too little too late".  Sister, if you haven't done so, I'd suggest you return the Pen of Perfidy to the Messiah Most Miserable!

I now have some questions to ask of the bishops:
  1. Will you now hold each others' feet to the fire regarding your solemn obligation to obey Canon 915?  Those among you who demure in obedience to this mandate (including our local bishop!) only give aid and comfort to those "katholyc" politicians who visit this mischief upon the Church.  In a word, will you finally deny the Eucharist to Kathleen Sebelius until she publicly repents?  This woman has much blood on her hands.
  2. As the election season draws near, will you (at last) teach the Catholic voters that issues of life and intrinsic morality are of primary importance when selecting candidates for whom to vote?   Will you proclaim that anyone who supports abortion, euthanasia, gay agendas, abuse of embryonic children are utterly unworthy of the Catholic's vote -despite any favorable stances on lesser issues?
  3. Will you dismantle or at least expel from the USCCB the "Catholic Campaign for Human Development"?  It has been shown, over and over again, that this organization, at its core and inception, is a cash-cow for individuals and organizations that work to foist the anti-life and anti-God agenda on this country.  Stop harboring this cobras' den.

Maureen Dowd Gets It Right??

Well, stranger things have happened!  To put it in context, she was arguing against the Church's opposition to gay "marriage", but she did make clear that the hierarchy's harboring of gay priests compromised their moral authority.  On that last point, I must agree.  So does the Vortex.  Click here if you can't see embedded video.

Governor Cuomo Not Meeting With Catholic Leaders

New York's bishops and other leaders are preparing for a state Catholic conference.  According to this CBS article, it is apparently a tradition for the governor to participate in these conferences.  However, he informed Archbishop Dolan that he could not make it this year.

Some view it as a snub, owing to Edward Peter's remarks that Cuomo should be denied Communion, on account of his very public shack-up and dissident views.  My opinion?  Big deal!  If anything, the governor is sparing the New York bishops the duty of telling him that he has absolutely no business attending that Catholic conference.  There is nothing worthwhile he could bring to the conference table, seeing that he is playing the dissident both in his public policies and not-so-private life.

Let's be even more realistic.  I doubt the bishops would have the requisite calcium in their spines to turn him away from the conference if he did attend.  Cuomo is (perhaps unwittingly) preventing their further disgrace and humiliation.

USCCB Kisses Up To Catholic Health Association

Remember when USCCB President Bishop Timothy Dolan referred to God, during a televised interview, as "him, her, whatever you want"?  Well, once again he has managed to cram both episcopal feet into his episcopal mouth (thanks to ALL for the alert, by the way".  In an interview last month with National Catholic Reporter, the bishop had this to say about relations with the Catholic Health Association: “It’s not that the CHA is working on the side of the hospitals, while the bishops are trying to preserve a pure morality because it’s being chipped away.  Philosophically, we’re on the same page.”

As Judie Brown said, a history lesson is in order for the USCCB president.  Not only did the CHA give the Obama Hell Scare Bill the final push it needed to pass the House, but Sister Carol Keehan placed herself on the side of St Joseph's hospital in Phoenix, when the latter was stripped of its Catholic status for authorizing an abortion to be committed on its premises.

In light of these events, how on earth can the USCCB state of the CHA "philosophically, we're on the same page"?  Could it be that the USCCB knows that Sister has Obama's favor and gratitude for her treachery towards the Church and the babies in helping cram through the Hell Bill?  Why is there this incessant practice on the part of the USCCB to lick the boots of those who wield clout in the kingdom of this world?

Some call for the reform of the USCCB.  I call for its complete abolishment, thankful that this cabal wields no inherent majesterial authority.  Then I'd suggest study of Pope Leo XIII encyclical, as mentioned in yesterday's post.

The Entire Dolan Interview On Fox News

To answer a commenter's question about the context of Archbishop Dolan's "whatever" remarks about God, here is the entire interview from Fox News.  http://video.foxnews.com/v/4433547/is-superman-catholic.  I think it's clear that the Vortex did not take anything out of context.  That segment seems short because it was short.  I will say this though, as the Archbishop spoke about parochial schools, he made some very pertinent points about them being under local control and being subject to parental accountability - of course they're now closing right and left around the DC area.  He made a point of stating that the statistics show the superior results of parochial schools not only to public schools, but these so-called "charter schools".  In the DC area, many parish schools have been turned over to DC and are now charter schools.  In other words, education in DC is going downhill very quickly.

I wouldn't classify Fox News with the rest of mainstream media.  By the latter I mean ABC, NBC, CBS who seem to tow the progressive party line.  Fox News does not, to the undisguised chagrin of the Messiah Most Miserable.

Archbishop Dolan: God Is "Him, Her, Whatever You Want"?????

Well this didn't take long!  Just a week or two after he was elected president of the USCCB, Archbishop Timothy Dolan is expressing some real confusion about the personhood of God Almighty.  God is "whatever"?  Gee - why not just resurrect a golden calf?  No, we worship the Blessed Trinity - God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.  Note that Father and Son are masculine.  It's the truth, like it or lump it.

This does not bode well for the USCCB.  I reiterate my strong suggestion to dismantle that entire mess.

Now here's an interesting question.  Do you think this heretical statement will garner 1% of the attention that the misquote of the Holy Father drew?  Again, my fellow bloggers - we need to step up to this plate now!

Congrats To Archbishop Dolan - BUT..

It's time for a reality check.  As Michael Voris states, that election was no harbinger of improvement at the USCCB.  Click here to watch if you can't see embedded video.

I would say that perhaps the USCCB has outlived its usefulness.  Truth be told, though, I don't believe it ever had any usefulness.  It's time to consign it to the dung heap of history and put the money used to run it to truly beneficial uses.

Fellow Bloggers! We ARE Making A Difference!

Thanks to my friend at Throw the Bums Out for picking up on this.

Here's the acknowledgement right here.  It does appear that the author doesn't particularly appreciate it, but at least he does acknowledge our role, something that the head-in-dirt bishops refuse to voice.

So to my fellow "Taliban Catholics": keep up the good work!

Kicanas' Defeat Causes Liberal Spastic Reaction

If today's post by Kathy Reeves on RH Reality Check is typical fare for them, may I suggest that the term "Reality Check" is a misnomer?  She states that she is "disgusted by the conservative smear campaign that labeled Kicanas a homosexualist, and I’m disappointed in the USCCB for taking such claims seriously."

The "conservative smear campaign" that Reeves decries is simply the telling of truth.  The fact that the truth may not suit her proclivities does not render the telling of that truth a "smear campaign".  Case in point is Kicanas' handlng of the McCormack matter.  Kicanas never disputed that he knew of McCormack's pederast tendencies; he simply (and unconscionably) defended his handling of the mess - which facilitated McCormack's horrific abuse of numerous children, including his own relatives

Rainbow Sash Has A Hissy-Fit Over Dolan's Election

Here's the whine-fest.  http://www.rainbowsashmovement.com/files/New_Strategy.pdf

According to the sashers, we should be thanking them for Kicanas's defeat.  Well, it's true that God works in mysterious ways sometimes, but I'll direct my thanks to God, all the same.

It's rather ironic to hear the sashers complain about the bishops "breaking with tradition" to defeat Kicanas.  Of all people, why are they concerned with anything traditional, since they're so wont to throw into the trash all the authentic traditions of the Church?  They're also kvetching about the election of Archbishop Joseph Kurtz as vice president; he has spoken out against same-sex marriage.

As the sashers sob tears of sorrow into their rainbow-colored hankies, we pray that their tears don't cause all the pretty colors in the hankies to run.  We also pray that they, and other dissidents, may repent of their ways, as they are flirting with eternal damnation.

Kicanas Defeated! Deo Gratias!

It has been a long-held albeit informal tradition at the USCCB that the sitting vice president would be elected president at the annual USCCB meeting.  Thus all expected that Bishop Gerald Kicanas of Tuscon would be elected president of the USCCB.  Many faithful Catholics have voiced concern over that probable election.  Not only has Kicanas cozied up to progressive elements and towed the Bernardin "seamless garment" party line, but his enabling of a pederast seminarian under his watch rendered him unfit to assume any more authority in the Church.  Many of us were praying and lobbying so that such an election would be thwarted.

Well, thanks be to God, it was.  New York Archbishop Timothy Dolan was elected president.  While I am not overjoyed at his election for reasons well-voiced by my colleague at Les Femmes, I am heartened that the progressive wing amongst the bishops was dealt a long-needed rebuke.

Here's an artcle from the Catholic World Report.  I love the title: "Cardinal O'Connor's Revenge: The Seamless Garment Unravels".

And another "Deo Gratias!" moment.  On November 15th, Catholic Culture published some words spoken by Pope Benedict XVI to some bishops in Brazil.  He reminded them that the conference “must avoid becoming a parallel reality or substituting for the ministry of each individual bishop. The counselors and structures of the episcopal conference exist to serve the bishops, not to replace them.”   Ladies and gentlemen, it is no accident that the Holy Father uttered these words just as the American bishops were gathering in Baltimore in preparation for the meeting now occurring.  Dare I opine that His Holiness was seeking to put pompous progressive bureaucrats in their place?  God is good!

Follow-Up To Situation At St Francis Xavier Church In Manhattan

On July 13, a Vortex video was released that documented the goings-on at St Francis Xavier Church in the Manhattan area of New York, a parish known for its promotion of homosexual behavior.  I relayed their findings in the July 13th posting.  At that time, Real Catholic TV was awaiting feedback from the Archdiocese of New York.  Many of us made our own inquiries of the archdiocese.  We must have been impossible to blow off indefinitely; the archdiocese did respond.  Real Catholic TV believes that the response was somewhat disingenuous.  Please watch the following to learn why.  (Click here if you cannot see embedded video).

Scandal at Manhattan Parish in Archdiocese of New York

This involves a Jesuit-run parish, St Francis Xavier.  It's no surprise to me that it's Jesuit-run, for reasons that Voris mentions.  I need not "reinvent the wheel" here.  Rather, I urge you to watch the Vortex video and the others pertinent to the situation.  (Click here if you can't see embedded videos)

The supporting videos and documentations can be seen here.  Contact information for the archdiocese is given.  This is a most serious matter, as Archbishop Dolan himself appears to be embroiled in the facilitation of the gay lifestyle in the Archdiocese of New York.
