Bread And Circus As The Third Commandment Is Broken

Some know that I've been attending Traditional Latin Mass at St. Alphonsus Ligouri Shrine in downtown Baltimore.  To do so from Montgomery County, I need to take I-95 into the city.  Today and last week, the minute I got onto 95, the traffic thickened up and worsened as I approached I-395 towards Howard St.  From there I could see the M&T Stadium and noticed the activity therein, not to mention the hoards of pedestrians, many clad in purple (the Ravens' color), swarming all over the streets heading towards the stadium.

Now consider that it's Sunday morning, when most Christian churches are holding various services, including Mass.  It's painfully obvious that those hundreds of people that I saw didn't give a hoot about keeping holy the Lord's Day, else they'd be at church instead of hoofing it to a stadium for a football game.  The three words going through my mind as I parked my car were "bread and circus".

If we wanted to know any reason why we are under God's judgment as a civilization right now, that is a clear reason.  No doubt this scenario was repeated many times today across the country.  I'm not saying anything is wrong with sports per se, but when they are put before one's duties to God, sports is made into a de facto idol.

As I was leaving Mass, I chatted with another Mass-goer about this matter.  We both agreed that the world would be in much better shape if these people could evince the same dedication to God as they obviously do to football.

From The Frying Pan To The Fire

On Wednesday, May 13, Governor Hogan announced the rescinding of some of his unconstitutional dictates.  Under limited conditions will some of Maryland businesses remain free of jack-booted behavior from local police.  These dictates should never have been laid upon us in the first place; I will not call them law for they themselves are unlawful in that they fly in the face of the United States Constitution, the highest civil law in this country.

Church services are free to resume at 50% capacity.  For many churches, that means they can resume as they had been, owing to the previous drop-off of attendance.  Of area Catholic dioceses, I am only aware of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston that will offer public Masses commencing the weekend of May 23-24.   The Archdiocese of Baltimore will start offering public Masses the weekend of May 30-31.  They will now cease their denial of the Sacraments of Penance and Extreme Unction.  Below is a video by Archbishop Lori as he announces the "protocols".  He will not hinder Comunion on the tongue.  More commentary under the video.




The Archdiocese of Washington remains without a public Mass.  Much of the Maryland portion of the diocese is within Montgomery and Prince George's counties.  Both those county executives are now playing the dictators and keeping civic life under the jack-boot.  I don't know what Archbishop Gregory is doing about Charles and Calvert counties, nor do I know the mndsets of those local governments.

Meanwhile, from the Vatican came a call to engage in world-wide idolatry.  They called upon people "of all religious affiliations" to pray and fast for an end to the covid pandemic.  People were encouraged to pray "according to the teachings of their religion, faith or sect".  Folks, not only would this be rank idolatry on our part, but the Vatican - and the Pope - are telling pagans that they should worship their demon-idols.  I wonder what the Vatican would say if those "teachings" mandated human sacrifice?

I believe we are undergoing this pandemic because of various idolatries and sins against the One True God.  So the pope shuts the churches, forbids priests to administer the sacraments and now goes so far as to advocate all-out idolatry?  Do they have any common sense?  Do they have a scintilla of belief in Our Lord Jesus Christ?

We'd better pray and speak out the truth, lest the next chastisement from God makes this current one look like a cake walk.

Nature Throws Temper Tantrums

A temper tantrum.  Yes, Pope Francis chalked up the covid-19 outbreak to a "temper tantrum" - his words - that nature is throwing so that we "will take care of her".  How in hades does he make up this crap?  Understand that in this gibberish, he is personifying nature by ascribing to it irascibility.

Let's remember what the Amazon Synod, and in fact most synods and all those meetings with Jeffrey Sachs et al were all about.  They were about establishing the de facto religion of earth-worship.  That was a big impetus in defiling Churches in Rome along with the open worship of the pachamama idols in the  Vatican gardens, with the pope in attendance. I and many others believe that this covid-19 pandemic is nothing less than a Divine chastisement for our many sins against Him - idolatreis, blasphemies, baby-slaughter, the elevation of homosexual perversions, etc.  Let's recall that the pachamama disaster happened in Italy, and the greatest number of casualties are in Italy.

However, instead of repenance, the world and the Church are doubling down on sinful conduct.  At a time when they should be multiplying Masses and allowing for greater access to the Sacraments, our bishops are restricting access to the sacraments and even eliminating them, going so far as to shutter the Churches.  In their claim to be acting out of concern for public safety, they cut off the prime source of God's grace, heaping more disrespect upon God.  I salute those dedicated priests who are having to work around various strictures laid upon them by their errant bishops (drive-through confessions, drive-up exposition of Blessed Sacrament, etc).  At any rate, pachamama isn't the only occasion for idolatry.  We now have "public safety", "compliance with authority" (even when that authority goes outside its own constitutional bounds), etc.  Yes, for too many - even for otherwise faithful Catholics - public safety, good in and of itself, has been made into an idol.

Listen now to the words of Archbishop Lenga of Poland.  Growing up in Poland, this prelate knows a thing or two about living under a tyranny and the perils of subjugating the One True Faith to the dictates of secular powers-that-be.

Catholic Standard Commits Ecumenicide

Again from the current issue of the Catholic (sub)Standard we see an account of the 40th annual concert of the Interfaith Council of  Metropolitan Washington.  Browse through the article and notice that not only were there performances by Catholics and some Protestant groups, but also of Muslims and Hindus.

Beholding ICMW idolary

This performance was held at the Washington Hebrew Congregation.  Several years ago this ho-down happened in the main nave of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.  That's right!  Idolatry occurred inside the National Shrine as Muslims and Hindus sang prayers to their false deities/demons.  I got wind of this just a few days before it was to occur (so no time to organize a protest) and I went to see how bad it could get.  It got pretty bad.  In fact, the Hindu dancing girls were even more scantily clad then than what you see in the Standard's photo.  I left in the middle of it as I could stomach no more.  Pachamama had nothing on the National Shrine..

Besides the flagrant idolatry, we see that the Interfaith Council of Washington is controlled by Democrats.  Case in point:  Rabbi Gerry Serotta, its current executive director, has contributed to something called Actblue, an online donor portal for Democrat candidates.  Looking at the Catholics on its Board of Directors, we see one Anthony Quainton, who contributed to Chris Van Hollen as he ran against the prolife Kathy Szeliga.

To sum up - in one issue the Standard trumpeted two very questionable organizations - The Interfaith Council of Washington and Sisters of Mercy of the Americas.  With just a little internet research I was able to learn just how inimical to the Faith they really are - and I'm not a professional journalist.  Does the Catholic Standard employ any real journalists, or are they just parrots for the DC chancery swamp?  Of course this question is purely rhetorical.

Coming To A Parish Near You, Maybe Your Own

Bishop Erwin Krautler claimed that the pachamama idols can "be integrated into our liturgy".  GloriaTV then caught him in flagrant double-speak.  Recall that Krautler is the bishop who states that he never baptized a single Amazon native and doesn't plan ever to do so - in direct disobedience to Jesus Christ.

I believe Krautler when he said he never baptized anyone.  I also understand that he will try to insinuate all sorts of blasphemies into Holy Mass.  Consider my post from Monday the 28th and the video of the Mass.  At the 53:04 mark you can see the plant being carried in.  One might ask why was the video camera focused so much on it; was the operator of the recorder privy to the plot to besmirch the altar, and this focus was a bit of a gloat?

I'm bringing all this up for I believe there will be attempts to sneak some idolatry into our Masses.  It probably isn't imminent, but they will wait some time so that the memories of the pachamama statues will fade.  Then we might not tend to be alert to these dangers.  Will we prove them right?

Back to the video, as you watch the procession, you'll notice that the plant is the last "gift" to ascend to the altar - as though the bread and wine were mere "opening acts", so to speak (around the 55:00 mark).  At the 55:41 mark, the pope accepts the plant from the woman.  As far as I can tell, the plant was the only gift that the pope himself handled.  He handed it to an acolyte who them placed it on the altar.  At the 56:19 mark, the focus is on the plant - not the bread, not the wine, but the plant!  Don't tell me that this whole Mass, complete with recording, was not an orchestrated attempt to do covert homage to the pachamama demon!  The presence of any plant on an altar is a violation of GIRM, but this is rank idolatry to boot.  This is an abomination brought into God's holy church.

Ladies and gentlemen, we must be alert in the following months - particularly if you are in a locale that tends towards the progressive mindset.  We are going to have to consider our response if we see similar debacles unfold before our very eyes.  It is best that we plan now so as to be prepared, rather than be caught unawares.

Alleged Recovery Of The Sacrilegious Objects

First, let me preface this with a word about the men who served God by jettisoning the things from the Church.

From faithful Catholics who should know better, I am hearing a lot of nitpicking about what they did. They are being criticized for not burning or smashing the idols first. To you who are mouthing such nonsense, please think. They didn't have the time for all that. They had to be quick about what they did lest they be apprehended.

You may be hearing nonsense that the filth was recovered. Nonsense. The idolaters most likely had other things they they are daring to place in St Peter's Basilica.Instead of carping on those young men, let's pray for their safety and that we may all display similar courage and piety.

LifeSiteNews has the full text of the pope's announcement regarding their alleged recovery.  Please note some things:

• The pope is calling the things "pachamama statues".  He's got that one thing right.  This is important because some who insist on defending the idolatry are trying to spin the situation by claiming that the things are somehow a representation of the Blessed Mother.  I hope the pope's admission puts to rest that fairy tale.
• He asked pardon of the people "offended by the act (of removal)".  Will he ask pardon of us who are offended by their presence?  More importantly, will he ask pardon of God?
• He mentioned "the display of the statues at the closing Mass of the synod" followed with a coy "we'll see".  So does that mean pachamama idols will be placed in the Bascilica of St Peter?  Will we see idolatry even there?

Think of this, fellow Catholics!  The pope, the Vicar of Christ, will be facilitating idolatry in St Peter's Bascilia!  This is a supreme outrage, and this outrage will no doubt be repeated in Churches throughout the world, in some fashion or another.

In the very likely event that we see similar acts of idolatry in our own local churches, what are we prepared to do?

Trekking Through The Amazon Instrumentum

We continue our agonizing and penitential slog through the Instrumentum Laboris of the upcoming debacle known as the Amazon Sin-nod.  Last week I finished paragraph 13.  Paragraph 14 lays out a bunch of hypothetical threats to the peoples of the Amazon.  Read it and notice what is missing.  Where are the threats to the eternal salvation of those people (and the rest of humanity for that matter)?  The Church's primary mission is the eternal salvation of souls.  So where is the concern about faulty catechesis?  Where is the concern about false religions and idolatry?  Oh, wait!  According to paragraph 13, they are supposed to be "in relation to various spiritual forces"!  So this papal plop promotes sins against the First Commandment?  Moving along to paragraph 15, we see that it is considered a "threat" that the people might abandon ancient idolatries.  My goodness!  Was that the attitude of St Patrick when, at his preaching, the Irish ceased their druidic human sacrifices?

Please take a gander at this precious gem from paragraph 17:

"We are" what??!!?  No, we are created in the image and likeness of God, with intellect and will.  We are not just some hobgob of stuff from the material order.  As far as this "cut the veins of our Mother Earth, that's a new one.  The earth is not "our mother".  It is, at best, silly to personify a planet.  For the next several paragraphs one will read ad nauseum the most poetic bewailing of the supposed evils wrought by mankind against the environment.  In other words, it's the quintessential envirowhacko screed.

The themes change a bit at paragraph 28.  The Amazon is now in a "period of grace", you see!  It's because of this "Synod of the Amazon"!  There's going to be "a mutual dialog among all the people of God"!  Let us thank that same God that they didn't see fit to include "the various spiritual forces" in the dialog!

According to paragraph 30, this dialog "aligns with a journey that began with the (surprise!) the Second Vatican Council"!  Taa-daa!  As all progressives know, Church history just didn't exist before the Second Vatican Council!  Prior to that, it was all triumphalist rubbish!  All the saints, doctors of the Church, worldwide preaching of the Gospel, Our Lord's mission for the Church - fudget about it already!  Yes, I am being sarcastic, but I fear my interpretation of paragraph 30 is a tad too accurate for comfort.

I understand that last evening's Democrat candidates' debate was quite a farce.  So tell me - which is the most banal of the two?  This document or the debates?  Please opine in the com-boxes!

Witchcraft, Islam And Humanism - De Facto Creeds Of The New Age

This post regarding these three popular manifestations of idolatry appeared a few days ago and it provides much food for thought.  I'd go a bit further than the author does.  He merely says that these idols are merely filling in a vacuum being left by a dying and shriveling church.  I, however, believe that the church isn't merely making way for these, but actively ushering them to places of prominence.  Witness the "poop video" in the post previous to this one.

Another very recent manifestation seems to come from a most surprising source - the canonization of Mother Teresa.  There is no doubt that she and her sisters spent their lives in heroic service to many destitute people and not too many of us can forget the truth she spoke to power at the 1994 prayer breakfast.  But there were troubling signs of indifferentism throughout her writings, at least in the early days.  There is this quote from A Simple Path: "I’ve always said that we should help a Hindu become a better Hindu, a Muslim become a better Muslim, a Catholic become a better Catholic."  We know that the only way a Hindu, Muslim or anyone else can become "better" is to embrace the One True Faith, not to become further entrenched in their false religions.  The Bellarmine Forum carries an article about the relationship between Mother Teresa and Father John Hardon.  While it rightly praises Mother's many virtues, we see starting in the second paragraph testament to her unwillingness to teach the creeds of the Faith, saying "her sisters were there to help the poor".  So the imparting of the Faith would not have assisted the poor?  But Father was there, at the behest of Pope John Paul II, to equip the sisters to engage in that aspect of charity and I believe that they did.  But did Mother ever walk back that statement as quoted from A Simple Path?

It does seem that at least in the first stage of the ministry of the Missionaries of Mercy, Mother Teresa was content to focus on the Corporal Works of Mercy to the exclusion of the Spiritual Works of Mercy.  I'll now link to an article by Msgr Charles Pope, written over a year ago, entitled "What Ever Happened To The Spiritual Works Of Mercy?"  It is worth careful study, as are the comments below.  I truly am glad that Pope John Paul II, through Father Hardon, corrected that short-coming in the Missionaries of Mercy.

Let's move onto Islam.  I'll now post an account of an interview granted by Cardinal Burke.  In that interview, His Eminence states that the belief that Christians and muslims worship the same god stems from relativism.  It might be indifferentism, too, such as the one seen Mother Teresa's quote in A Simple Path.  It is quite blasphemous to state that those who behead babies, stone rape victims, engage in terrorist bombings by using their own children, etc, etc, in the name of their god, somehow worship the One, True God.  Yet that is what progressive church leaders thrust down our throats, as our post-Christian culture makes ever-increasing concessions to muslims while treating Christians - particularly faithful Catholics - as de facto "niggers of the new age".

Again we see the Church hierarchy welcoming in this heresy, not only in the misguided indifferentism rightly condemned by Cardinal Burke, but also in troubling actions by Pope Francis.  Recall his allowance of muslim prayers to the false "allah" idol within the Vatican gardens and his washing of the feet of muslims during Holy Thursday services.

These embraces of both humanism and indifferentism by progressives in the Church not only facilitate cultural suicide, but also facilitate the damnation of immortal souls by holding up to them lies as though they were truths.

Cleaning Out The Trash From St Cecilia Cathedral - Would We Do The Same?

A Mary Poppins mannequin hanging from the ceiling of a Catholic cathedral.  A Buddha statue in one of the side chapels.  These abominations really occurred in St. Cecilia Cathedral in the Archdiocese of Omaha last January.  What I just described isn't mere sacrilege; the Buddha statue raised the ante to idolatry.  At least one faithful Catholic had enough - and did something about it!

First let's set forth some details.  In late January, the cathedral hosted its 31st "Flower Festival" and this year's "theme" (?) was "A Night At The Movies".  Mark Kenney, a custodian of the cathedral - in the true sense of the word - recognized the insult to the Faith and Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.  He cut down the Mary Poppins thing from the ceiling and tossed out the Buddha idol and a few other  monstrosities as well.  The pastor confronted him. Kenney admitted to his deeds, saying, "Father, this is bullshit! We can’t have this in the church. This isn’t culture, it’s Disney crap!"  Later Kenney correctly stated that what happened was sacrilege for the most part, idolatry with respect to the Buddha junk.  He did not resist arrest when the police came for him.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on March 24, Holy Thursday.  I think it's rather appropriate since it was on the evening of Holy Thursday that Jesus was arrested in preparation for His Crucifixion.

Let's look at some facets of this matter, shall we?  Firstly this pastor, allegedly a canon lawyer, stated, "Cathedrals are kind of the epicenter for culture presentation and development."  No they aren't!  They are sacred places dedicated to the worship of the One True God!  They should NOT be used to "present culture" that is idolatrous and at enmity with the teachings of Jesus Christ.  As I read further down the article, I saw that one of the exhibits was one devoted to Queen Elizabeth I of England - you know, the English protestant monarch who was responsible for the large-scale persecution and murders of hundreds of English Catholics.  So "cultural development" means heaping honor on an unrepentant persecutor of Catholics?

Our Lord Damaging Personal Property

The article states that Kenney was fired and that his "safe environment" certificate was revoked, prohibiting him from volunteering or working when children are present.  In a sane world, such revocation would also have occurred with regard to the pastor and the other masterminds behind the obscenity.  Clearly they pose a serious threat to the immortal souls of all parishioners, owing to their allowance of idolatry in the Cathedral.

The writer of the article, towards the end, engages in a bit of "editorializing".  He opines that the damage to personal property was not appropriate.  Normally I might agree, except that this "personal property" was used to commit multiple sins against the First Commandment.  Think of it this way; had swastikas been affixed to the walls of the cathedral, would anyone in their right mind have had any bones about ripping them from the walls?  Of course not (cowardice issues notwithstanding)!  Once again I think the Principle of Double Effect applies.  The good effect is the cessation of the idolatry by its removal; any damage is corollary.

Kenney hopes that the incident will spark some conversation in the Church about what is permissible in a Catholic Church wherein the Blessed Sacrament is reserved.  I do too.  I also hope that it causes us all to consider what we might do if we should ever find ourselves confronted with blatant affronts to Our Lord in His church.  Will we have the courage and resolve to correct the situation?

This debacle occurred in the Archdiocese of Omaha.  Let's have some "conversation" with them, particularly in relation to the sentencing on Holy Thursday.  These charges should be dropped in the name of decency.  Here is the contact information.

UPDATE - On Father Z's blog, a commenter left this link to the rest of the abomination that was part of this debacle.  It includes "displays" from "The King and I", "Dr Zhivago (to celebrate adultery)", "ET", "Grease" and others.  It's a shame that Kenney couldn't eject the entire mess.

Real Idolatry Is Worship Of God Of Surprises

In his homily yesterday, the pope lobbed another insult at faithful Catholics who adhere to Sacred Tradition.  As we all (should) know, Sacred Tradition is not just "the way things were done"; rather, it is God's revealed teaching to the Church.  It is His Word.  Sacred Tradition does not change because God, its Author, is immutable.  Here is the English translation of the homily from the Vatican's website.

He cites the example of Saul, first king of Israel.  Israel was at war.  Samuel the prophet communicated to Saul the will of God that everything pertaining to their enemy was to be destroyed - including their animals.  Saul had another idea: to keep some animals to offer burnt offerings to God.  Of course he was doing so in disobedience to God.

Somehow the pope tries to liken us to the disobedient Saul, when in fact it is those who take God's Sacred Traditions lightly who are acting along the lines of Saul.  One could say, in looking at Saul's actions, that he was merely trying to accommodate a "god of surprises" instead of acting in humble obedience to His revealed will.  Again, if it seems that God's will is akin to "what has always been done" and is not changing, it's because God Himself does not change.

Even more incredibly is that the pope calls us "idolators".  Why?  Because we're not open to this "god of surprises".  Note that he says the Holy Spirit continuously "surprises us".  Well, one can only be surprised by someone or something of which he/she has no knowledge.  But the Church teaches us through Sacred Tradition.  What she taught Catholics 500 years ago is no different than what she teaches today, for God Himself is no different today than He was 500 years ago.  Is this so complicated?

If this papal theme of "don't adhere to tradition but be surprised" theme sounds familiar, it should.  It really is a rehashed attempt at brainwashing.  See here and here and here.  Regrettably, what we have here is yet another attempt to cause us to distrust the little solid foundation that we do have in our faith, so that we will fall for progressive novelties disguised as "surprises from God".

If there's any idol here, it's this "god of surprises".

On Saturday I posted about the "light show" at the Vatican which has since happened.  I and many others voiced apprehension at the thought of desecration.  Sadly we were correct.  What happened on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception was an unmitigated abomination.  On a day that the Church is to honor the Mother of God, the Vatican did homage to the false idol "mother earth" and worshiped many other idols at the same time.

 LifeSiteNews has some commentary that is worth reading, as does ChurchMilitant.TV.  The latter had the full you-tube of the debacle, and I repost it below.  Note: You may want to skip to the 9:30 mark to get past the useless footage of the set-up and people milling about.

When it does start, you'll notice immediately the new-age influence of the music (that is, when you don't hear animals roaring or birds chirping).  The candle sequence at 14:15 strikes me as quite luciferian and I can swear that it sounds like Darth Vader breathing in the background.  It goes on like this with a "city zoo" cacophony of animal noises, etc.  At the 37:00 mark we hear some ominous music and we watch (wait for it!) icebergs melting!  What new-age envirowhacko agitprop would be complete without one of those scenes?  We're then treated to so-called evidence of the havoc that we awful humans have wreaked upon mother-gaia-earth.  At the 58:00 mark, we see bees coming at us, no doubt to exact vengeance upon us dastardly humans.

Obviously this thing was put together to lay upon us a major guilt trip for our "carbon foot prints" and how they're destroying the "poor animals".  But consider the "carbon footprint" that was generated in the production of this agit-prop.  Boys and girls, can we all say "hypocrisy"?

By the way - did you see one, just one, picture of Christ or the Blessed Mother or other saints?  Neither did I.  Not one, even though this was held in the Vatican.  This thing was unmitigated evil.  The basilica is where the bones of Peter are.  In allowing this evil to be cast upon the basilica, the Vatican allowed idolaters to dance upon the grave of the first Vicar of Christ.

Vatican Officials To Profane St. Peter's Basilica With Light Show Abomination

Will next week's planned light-show farce be the abomination about which Our Lord prophesied?  While we hope not, that is a possibility that I wouldn't be quick to dismiss.  What cannot be disputed that it will be a true abomination, a deliberate foisting of profanation and idolatry upon St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.

I first saw the news in LifeSiteNews.  This farce, spearheaded by the Pontifical Council for the New Evangelization and its head, Archbishop Fisichella, is scheduled to happen on December 8th, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception and is meant to usher in the "year of mercy".  The main theme of the garish spectacle will be environmentalism.  In the words of Fisichella, "these illuminations will present images inspired of mercy, of humanity, of the natural world and of climate changes".

LifeSiteNews uncovered the plethora of progressive and pro-abortion organizations that have their hands in the production of the idolatry.  Several of them are named after Roman and Greek idols; I refer you to the LifeSiteNews link for further details on these.  I'd also suggest you take a look at this anthology of posts I've done over the years concerning environmentalism.  Included in these posts is an expose done by Michael Voris a few years ago detailing the anti-life and idolatrous underpinnings of environmentalism.  What will happen in a few days ago is nothing short of a celebration of idolatry, and it literally will be thrust upon the facade of St. Peter's Basilica.

If this is what Fisichella considers to be part and parcel of "new evangelism", perhaps the "new evangelism" needs to be pitched in the trash.  The "old evangelism" worked quite well until progressives infested the clergy with the sort of modernist trash that will sully the image of the Vatican next week.  When that is expunged from the Church, the truth can be proclaimed with clarity and no gimmicks.  Then we'll see conversions.

The fact that the debacle is occurring on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception is also a supreme insult to Our Lady.  But there could be a silver lining on that cloud.  That day is a Holy Day of Obligation.  Let's offer up our Mass that day in reparation for the profanation and idolatry that will have occurred.  We can also storm heaven now for a miracle that will prevent this scandal.

How Francis-Mercy Is Harming The Church

In a talk given to a meeting of Italian Catholics a few days ago, Pope Francis flat out said that the Church must submit itself to all sorts of "change".  All sorts?  Yes.  He opined that "our times require a deeply merciful Church that is unafraid of change".  What are the assumptions implicit in that statement?  They are:

• "Our times" are somehow different than all the other epochs in the thousands of years that human beings have walked the earth, despite the fact that our human natures remain the same.
• Implicit (maybe explicit) in this statement is an assumption that until now, the Church hasn't been "deeply merciful".  In fact, the Church has always been merciful, proclaiming the truths of God and being about the mission of "saving souls" via the Sacraments and teachings.  If the pope is truly concerned about getting back to mercy, perhaps he can recall the primary mission of the Church is to save souls from hell, not to be a front for "social justice", community organizing and environmentalism.
• That the Roman Catholic Church, although it is the Mystical Body of Christ and entrusted with the Teachings of Jesus Christ and His Sacraments has been deficient in "mercy" during its two-thousand years of existence.
• "Change" in the Church is somehow a pressing necessity in this era, although it seems the pope just can't bring himself to be specific about the "change" he thinks the Church needs.  Perhaps he just doesn't want to tip his hand.
• All change is good.  That sentiment is clearly indicated by lack of distinction between "good change" and "bad change" in his talk.  Whether or not the pope intended it, the "change" mantra seems reminiscent of the "hope and change" slogan utilized by Obama.

Here's a very telling and ominous statement from the pope:  "Before the problems of the church it is not useful to search for solutions in conservatism or fundamentalism, in the restoration of obsolete conduct and forms that no longer have the capacity of being significant culturally,  Christian doctrine is not a closed system incapable of generating questions, doubts, interrogatives -- but is alive, knows being unsettled, enlivened. It has a face that is not rigid, it has a body that moves and grows, it has a soft flesh: it is called Jesus Christ."

There's so much mess in here so let's take it from the top.  Notice the jabs at "conservatism and fundamentalism"?  Why didn't he also say that "it isn't useful to search for solutions in novelties that occur to progressive minds out of the blue"?  Sometimes what isn't said is just as indicative as what is said.  Couple this statement with the crack about "obsolete conduct and forms that no longer have the capacity of being significant culturally".  Who or what is the pope allowing to be the determinant of obsolescence and significance?  The truths of God, of Jesus Christ, are timeless as He is eternal.  They do NOT change!  If they appear to be at odds with the culture at large, it's because the culture itself requires change to be in conformity with the Word of God as represented by Catholic doctrine and teaching, not vice versa.  As Pope St John Paul II wrote in his book "Sign of Contradiction", the Church, as she obeys God, will often speak and act in ways not in accordance with the world's dictates.  We cannot try to be "significant" to a culture steeped in sin lest we entangle ourselves in that sin.  We are not to assume the "smell of the sheep" but rather to exude the odor of sanctity.

Unfortunately it seems that this false "Francis-mercy" is infecting too many churches.  I blogged a few days ago about Our Savior Parish in Manhattan hosting a hare krishna idolatry session in front of its altar.  We now have more startling details: one being that a Cardinal was in attendance.  In that link you will find a short video of the sacrilege.  And yes, it is sacrilege; some are of the belief that this Church will need to be reconsecrated to purify it of the effects of the idolatry.

Then in the Diocese of Buffalo, NY, the pastor saw fit to put a sign outside the Church of St Columba Brigid that said "Jesus had two dads and He turned out just fine".  No one can doubt what the pastor intended to convey.  Fortunately the bishop of that diocese intervened and ordered its removal.

The hare krishna thing was not the first act of idolatry permitted to occur in a Catholic Church.  I was just made aware of a video in which a muslim carries on in a Catholic Church.  The video did not identify the Church but the video makes plain that this is a Catholic Church.  I hope that since this incident occurred that the church was reconsecrated.  Below the video I'll have more commentary.



The Bellarmine Forum has a post that addresses these atrocities in light of Our Lady's apparitions in both Fatima and Akita.  There is no doubt that she has given us ample warning.  Sadly, it seems that the Church, as a whole, is still not listening.  I realize that what Our Lady is asking of us seem to no longer have the capacity of being significant culturally (where have we heard that before?), but so what?  Again, the world does not call our shots.  Our Lord does.  Despite the fact that the Vatican seems hell-bent on hindering us, we need to pray and proclaim the truth before it's too late.

Abominations Welcomed Into The Church - What Will Be Our Response?

For Biblical context in what you're about to read, visit this site.  What is happening in the Church under this most questionable pontificate is alarming.  These incidents are happening at an ever increasing frequency.

We saw the sin-nod "fathers" (at least those in high places) attempt to render irrelevant the teachings of Jesus Christ regarding marriage by means of false "praxis".  Earlier the pope allowed blasphemy in the Vatican gardens by allowing a muslim to pray to "allah" therein.  Last week the Vatican joined the Lutherans in celebrating "reformation day"; in other words, the Vatican celebrated the sins of apostasy and blasphemy. Given the current trajectory of things, I wonder when the Vatican will get around to celebrating the day Adam and Eve ate the apple.

But since the Vatican has celebrated apostasy, they now seem to be concerned about being "equal opportunity heresy enablers".  This past weekend the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialog (so many sins being committed in the name of "dialog") sent a message to the Hindus to congratulate them as they celebrate Deepavali.  This so-called "pontifical council" hopes they'll "experience happiness and harmony" through their idolatry.  As you read that link, you'll notice not one mention of Jesus Christ or the necessity to be converted to the One True Faith, for only that will lead to "happiness and harmony" due to worshiping the One True God.  Speaking of the necessity for conversion to Jesus Christ, we pray that the members of that Pontifical Council undergo that conversion themselves.

Given that the Vatican just affirmed the Hindus in their idolatry, what you'll see next cannot be too surprising although it should cause outrage.  In the first paragraph you read about abominations being established in the sanctuary.   That is precisely what happened at Our Savior Parish in Manhattan.  The video indicates that this happened in September, when Hare Krishnas (an offshoot of Hinduism) conducted one of their idolatrous rituals (called kirtan) in the sanctuary of the Church.  I cannot tell whether or not the Blessed Sacrament was still present.  Here is the video but below that is more commentary.



What troubles me almost as much as the sacrilege itself is the nonchalance of the parishioners in the pews.  I would hope at the very least some of them would have walked out.  The rest, by their silent audience, gave to the idolaters their tacit approval.

Perhaps we need to think these matters through, lest we be caught unprepared should this (or something similar) happen in our own Churches.  Would we walk out?  Would we attempt to prevent the blasphemy and idolatry, disrupting the satanic rituals if need be?  We may well face these unpleasant choices and we must be prepared to act.

Argentine Cardinal Ravasi Committed Idolatry Last November

Rorate Caeli (ht, by the way!) has the article - along with video - of Cardinal Ravasi doing homage to an animist "goddess".  What a travesty to see a Prince of the Church commit a mortal sin of idolatry, in the name of misguided "ecumenism".  I use the word "idolatry" for that is what it is - a sin against the First Commandment, committed in public by a cardinal no less.

Ravasi is also president of the Pontifical Council for Culture.  If that phrase sounds familiar, it's because that office spewed forth the "bimbo video" and the "bsdm art".  Given the idolater that is at its helm, it's really no wonder that such vomit was spewed forth from that council.  Please note that both those travesties were publicized shortly after Ravasi committed the very public idolatry.

Is all this part and parcel of the "maturation" that the pope wants us to undergo?

Yes, I put the word "popes" in plural, for they - from Paul VI onward - have wafted freely of the false idol of pseudo-ecumenism.  Why is this ecumenism false?  Simply put, it's a sanctimonious disguise for the heresy of religious indifferentism. It operates under the unspoken and erroneous assumption that all religions are equally beneficial.  For this I'll now use the more accurate term "ecumenicide".

As you watch the video below, think of Ezekiel 8, as the prophesies about the abomination in the temple are announced.  Might this video be displaying a manifestation of this prophesy's fulfillment?  I think that to be a reasonable hypothesis since we see:

• Talk of a "new world order" (12:38)
• A statue of Buddha on a Catholic altar (22:30).  In front of the Tabernacle!
• Hindus invoking their plethora of false deities in another Catholic sanctuary (23:00).
• Other sundry idolatries occurring in Catholic venues and being placed on a par with Catholic worship and devotion

The Disgusting March Cardinal Dolan Wanted Catholics To Attend

Two days ago the debacle called the People's Climate March was held in New York City.  Cardinal Dolan just adored the idea - he hoped for a "strong Catholic presence".   I couldn't help but notice not one hint of the need for prayer for the black mass that was scheduled to happen - but I digress.

Speaking of adoration, there seemed to be a good bit of that going on at the climate farce.  Youngcons shows a bunch of farce attendees bowing to an idol.  It's rather grotesque, too.  I'm not sure just what the hell that thing is supposed to represent, but there's no doubt that environmentalism is a cloak for paganism.  Of course that cloak is now a bit more transparent.  Now consider that Cardinal Dolan wanted Catholics there.  It was clear from his own blog that he didn't want Catholics to preach the Gospel; after all "proselytism is solemn nonsense"!  Would he have been ok with them joining in the overt idol worshiping that was happening?  I wish I could answer confidently in the negative.

Many from the leftwing "gang of usual suspects" put in their appearances.  Michelle Fields of PJ Media managed to get an interview from Robert F. Kennedy Jr.  The man makes absolutely no sense.  Marylanders will recognize his cognitive dissonance as being similar to that of our former Lt. Governor, Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, his sister.  When one fills their brain with pro-abortion gobblygook and empties their conscience of any trace of their Catholic faith, their brains will fry.  Behold for yourselves.



Breitbart News has information on other famous attendees.  Former VP Al Gore was there; afterwards he departed in his Chevy Suburban SUV.  Leonardo Di Caprio also was there; he owns five luxury homes and lives quite the jet-setting lifestyle.  By their own professed standards, what do you believe would be the sizes of their "carbon footprints"?  Oh, excuse me!  It's just fine and dandy for them to live high on the hog.  It is we, the great unwashed rabble, who must pare back our own lifestyles to appease that idol that was worshiped at the farce!

When the nonsense finally came to a close (and all the bigwigs made their getaways in their various gas-guzzling vehicles), they made quite a mark on the city.  That is to say, they left piles of trash that the city maintenance workers had to clean up.  Oh, wait!  Maybe they didn't have to clean it up!  Perhaps they fed the garbage to their grotesque idol!  That must be it!

Cardinal Dolan, what do you have to say about this mess now - assuming you care?

Reparation Needed For Idolatry That Will Occur At Vatican Gardens On Pentecost Sunday

Let us speak plainly, shall we?  This supposed "prayer for peace" is an occasion for several serious sins.  "But it's for peace", some might whine?  What difference does that make?  The ends never justify means that are inherently evil.  Moreover, no real peace can occur when false idols (namely "allah") will be worshiped.

So right there we have a sin against the First Commandment.  The fact that it's to occur on Catholic grounds lends the aura of sacrilege to it.  Here's an article from Catholic Encyclopedia; pay attention to the section on "local sacrilege".

Ladies and gentlemen, fellow Catholics, reparation is needed.  Start now.  Today is First Saturday; if there's still time, make your confession and Mass and pray your Rosary, per the requests of Our Lady of Fatima.

Please pray tomorrow for forgiveness for what will happen on Pentecost Sunday.

UPDATE: I just read in Creative Minority Report that this is part of the Islamic screed prayer that will be uttered:   "...O You who know the unknown and the manifest, O Lord of everything and its sovereign, we testify that there is no god but You alone ..."  As the CMR commenter noted, this prayer is an outright contradiction of the truth that Jesus Christ is a Divine Person and the Second Person of the Holy Trinity.  And this is occurring on consecrated Catholic grounds???
