Modern Education - Where No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

In just a few days I've come across two stories of public school students getting into trouble with their respective school authorities.  We're they drinking or doing drugs?  Nope!  We're they skipping classes?  Nope!  Did they "offend" someone with "politically incorrect" speech or clothing?  Not even that!  Well, just what were these high crimes and misdemeanors?
  1. Briar MacLean, a 7th grader at Sir John A McDonald School in Calgary, Alberta broke up a knife fight by pushing the knife-wielding student against the wall.  He most likely prevented a stabbing.
  2. Erin Cox, a senior at North Andover School in Massachusetts, was called by a friend who asked her to take her home; the latter was intoxicated.  The police broke up the party when she arrived.  Even though the police vouched for Erin, she is suffering inappropriate punishment.
Here you have it - two selfless kids being punished by their idiot-school officials for performing actions that can only be called kind and even heroic.  I wish I could say these were just cases of school bureaucrats slavishly adhering to mindless rules, but I think there's more than meets the eye here.  Couple this with the stories a little while ago with children being treated like criminals for playing with imaginary guns and maybe you'll get the picture.

Having studied secondary education while in college, I was told in no uncertain terms that John Dewey is considered the "father of modern education".  That is arguably a true statement. John Dewey was a signer of the first Humanist Manifesto.  Go to the American Humanist website and examine this, and the subsequent versions.  The humanist world view is there for all to see.  It is this world view that the teachers are being trained to impart to their students, regardless of the wishes of their parents.  Now this is not true for all public school teachers for there remain some whom the progressives have not yet expunged.  By and large, the public school system aims to train its students to be useful cogs in the New World Order.  That is best accomplished by brainwashing the kids into becoming passive and hedonistic automatons.

Both Briar and Erin have demonstrated that they won't fit into that cookie-cutter mold.  Both have demonstrated initiative, decisiveness, selflessness and - most threatening to the progressives controlling the schools - a propensity to think outside the box.  The public-school lemmings cannot have such independence among their students.  Heaven forbid they might start thinking independently and start eschewing the largess and directives of the politically-correct statists.   Good heavens!  They might even tear down barry-cades when they get older!  The school-nazis simply can't have that going on now, can they?

Thus we see the completely ludicrous punishments being heaped upon these two kids.  Thankfully their parents are standing by them, as are large percentages of their respective communities.  I understand that at least Erin's mother has retained legal counsel.  Good for her.

On Wednesday Michael Voris will be doing a program focusing on the snake in the grass called Common Core.  I've no doubt its tentacles are manifest in Briar's and Erin's plights.  Here is the link; I plan to watch it.

Things From The Uterus Belong To The State

MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry, in a so-called "public service announcement", engaged in a moment of inadvertent candor when she opined that "children belong to whole communities" as opposed to being the responsibility of their parents. This is presumably after the "things in the uterus turn into humans", to quote her previous statement.  She is clearly an apt spokesperson for public education - and I am not being facetious, but I do digress.

Getting back to her Freudian slip about children belonging to "the collective", many of my colleagues are shocked at this revelation; I am not.  This has been the game plan all along of the denizens of public education.  I minored in secondary education at the University of Maryland so my knowledge of the matter is not trivial.  We were taught in no uncertain terms that John Dewey was the "father of modern education".  Arguably he was, as he left his humanistic paw prints all over the place.  And yes, he was a signer of the Humanist Manifesto.

Paula Bolyard of PJMedia asks the question (a very good question) "Has a century of progressive education turned us into obedient sheep?"  I'd suggest that all read it.  The obvious answer to her question is a resounding "yes".  And that is by intent!

Read closely the Humanist Manifesto - and then read of the various "efforts" of the National Education Association.  The production of passive "sheeple" following the dictates of oligarchies such as the one fronted by the Messiah Most Miserable has been its thinly-disguised goal.  In other words, the public education system is following the playbook written long ago by John Dewey.

Here's the MSNBC video below.

"Environmental Literacy" Required To Graduate From MD High Schools

This past Tuesday, the Maryland Board of Education voted to require that each student be "environmentally literate" before they graduate from high school.   Let me translate - the progressive lemmings who control the Board of Education have dictated that all students be brain-washed into parrotting the junk science known as environmentalism.

Meanwhile, kids are graduating school without decent foundatons in real subject matter.  If I had displayed such poor language skills as do many of today's high school graduates, I would have flunked fourth grade.  Why not teach the kids to read and write a proper sentence?  How about focusing more on math, biology, physics, history (and not the politically-correct variety)?  How about a basic civics course, so that kids actually know how the government works?

By the way - John Dewey, for better or worse (and I think it's worse), is regarded as "the father of modern education".  Well, he certainly did put modern public education in an adversarial role to true education.  Google his name.  I did so and saw this.  Notice how one of the bullet points says "Regarded education in a democracy as a tool to enable the citizen to integrate his or her culture and vocation usefully."  In other words, Dewey saw education as a tool to brainwash pupils into being docile little puppets who would blindly follow the flow of "his or her culture", "culture" of course being the progressive, politically-correct gestapo known as "government" today.  Of course, Maryland is one of the leading liberal la-la lands in the USA today, thanks to the left-leaning progressives who prowl the State House and legislative buildings.  They love environmentalism, as it is a perfect vehicle by which they may encroach into our lives.  This latest move of the Board of Education stems directly from Dewey's vision of education.

I'd now like to direct your attention to an article written by Pat Buchanan, entitled "The Dumbing Down of America".  He focuses on the abysmal lack of knowledge of US history that so many students display today.  I for one think such ignorance is intended, so that students remain unaware of their national heritage; thus, they would be more likely to disregard their national past in favor of progressive machinations.

Such is the People's Republic of Maryland!

CCHD = Cash for Chaos, Hatred and Disorder

We are all aware of the violence that has erupted in the wake of Trump's election as President of the United States.  One thing this illustrates is the results of poor education that has been allowed to go on for these past few decades.  It is poor by design.  John Dewey has rightfully been called the Father of Modern Education.  How many are aware that Dewey was a signer of the original Humanist Manefesto?

However, the violence in many cities (all of the cities being in states that Hillar carried, oddly enough) isn't just the work of spoiled little snowflakes pitching temper tantrums.  There is organization behind it as LifeSiteNews points out.

One of the organizations behind the mayhem is MoveOn.org, controlled by George Soros.  Soros' infiltration of progressive Catholic circles has been documented.  His organization, Faith in Public Life, several years ago attempted to refute an exposition of the CCHD done by Michael Hichborn.  Much has been written on this blog and others regarding the fact that monies collected by the CCHD were diverted to "community organizing" outfits that are anti-life, anti-God; many of these have been known to foment the kind of violence that has swept up the disgruntled Clinton supporters.

If you haven't done so yet, please watch the video "A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing".  It's long, but well worth the investment of time.  It tells the history of the invasion of progressives in the life of the Catholic Church in the US, focusing on the role of Saul Alinsky.  Furthermore, it details how Alinsky and his cronies in the Church created the Campaign for Human Development for the purpose of diverting Catholic donatons to progressive causes.  Later the word "Catholic" was put in front of the rest of the name.  That is to say that the entire purpose of CCHD was evil from its inception, as opposed to being once noble but only recently corrupted.

During the weekend of November 19-20, most dioeses in the United States will be devoting the second collections to the CCHD.  We must boycott this collection as we've done in previous years.  Many of us are tired from the election, but we must resist the temptation to "tune out and take a break".   The CCHD is a factor in the rot inside both the Church and the United States.  We must starve this beast known as CCHD.  With Trump's election, we've been given a reprieve by God, some more time to pray and work to establish the Culture of Life.  Let's not lose momentum but press ahead, starting by saying #no2cchd.

Jennings - SAFE School Czar? NOT!!

The past May, Kevin Jennings was appointed to be Assistant Deputy Secretary of the Department of Education. He's been dubbed the "safe school czar". However, his past history (well-documented) makes very clear that he is a threat to children's safety. He most certainly was for a young boy whom he counseled while at Concord Academy in Massachusetts in the late 1980s. The young boy, a very troubled youth, came to Jennings and told him how he was picked up at a bus station by a gay male predator. Did Jennings report the incident, as we was legally bound to do? No! He just told the boy, "You know, I hope you knew to use a condom."

Jennings himself is gay. He founded the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN). He made very clear that he wants only pro-gay viewpoints taught in schools. He is admittedly hostile to Christianity. The Family Research Council put out an excellent dossier; I urge its study.

Now I urge you to read this from Americans for Truth. At a GLSEN conference in 1997, Jennings gave a speech in which he extolled Harry Hay, founder of the Mattachine Society. Hay publicly supported the North American Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA). As the name indicates, this bunch advocates pederasty. Apparently Jennings refuses to say whether or not he was aware of Hay's affiliation with NAMBLA. Given his response to the boy's plight mentioned earlier in this post, it is entirely conceivable that indeed he knew. This has raised the eyebrows of even some gays who do at least repudiate pederasty. Scott Baker of Breitbart.tv shares this video:

Let's look at Jenning's affiliation with ACT-UP (Aids Coaltion To Unleash Power). He was a member and is a funder/supporter of an pornographic ACT-UP exhibit currently underway at Harvard University. As you look at the link, be advised that there are pictures that are vile and rabidly anti-Catholic. However, you must be informed as to the proclivities and sympathies of this man who will wield way too much influence over American public education.

And guess what? Jennings and his gay partner hosted an Obama fundraiser at their home - with the Messiah Most Miserable himself in attendance! Are we surprised? Does the word "payback" come to mind?

Now the following may be considered by some to be a needless sidetrack from the Jennings issue. In reality, I think it is foundational not only to the matter at hand, but to the whole direction of modern public education. My first college degree was a BS in mathematics, with a minor in education. I was thu required to study education - at the University of Maryland, a school known for fawning all over liberal icons.

It was taught there, and is commonly held today, that the "father of modern public education" was John Dewey. He laid down much of the groundwork for the structures and missions. He was also a humanist who signed the Humanist Manifesto. Here's his signature on the original 1933 version. Another version came out 40 years later, but Dewey had already passed away. I urge you to read both versions and see how the hostility towards religion, particularly towards Christianity, is more blatant, as well as the call for sexual license. We see such proclivities in public education today and most certainly in Jenning's appointment to this high post. Some call for Jenning's appointment to be rescinded. Well, I'll go further and say that the entire Department of Education should be dismantled. There is no Constitutional authority for its existence, anyway.

It's way past time to consider homeschooling.

Ulterior Motives Behind The Sham-azon Sin-Nod

In this clip, Michael Hichborn lays out what he believes the real purpose of this Sham-azon Sin-nod to be - in other words, the ulterior and sinister motives of the Vatican crowd and their progressive accomplices in the secular world.  He lays out a very convincing case, comparing various synodal and preparatory documents with other writings such as:
The above list is a list of hyperlinks.  There are undoubtedly additional links with more information on each topic.  I post these so that you can examine the points that Hichborn makes.  Long-time readers of this blog will recall that I have already commented on the Vatican's flirtations with the "sustainable development goals".

The writings of one group that Hichborn didn't mention deserves some consideration, in my opinioin.  I refer to the Humanist Manifesto.  The link that I just posted is a link to the American Humanist Association.  It's worth noting that this latest version of their manifesto is rather vague.  Follow the links to the two earlier manifestos to see more nitty-gritty about their beliefs.  Also note that the first manifesto was signed by John Dewey, regarded to be the "father of modern education".

Now the Hichborn video, and I'll have more to say below that.

A few days ago John-Henry Westen of LifeSiteNews intereviewed Bernardo Kuster, a Brazilian Catholic commentator who believes that some of the money sources behind the synod, e.g. Rockefeller Foundation, Ford Foundation and others are interested in mineral resources in the Amazon region.  He believes that they are using the Church to get to these minerals.  Now what was that again about not exploiting resources of indiginous peoples??  Sshhh!  We shouldn't ask such pesky questions!

So who's correct?  Hichborn or Kuster?  Well, maybe they are both correct!

The Myth of the "Good Enough" Catholic

There's no doubt that many of us have wondered how the Catholic Church today has been reduced to a pathetic shadow of what she was a mere hundred years ago - or even fifty.  I've spent some time reading about the matter to try to understand the myriad influences, both internal and external, that have contributed to the Church's obvious decline (and western civilization's too, for that matter).  On the website, I've listed some books to read and now repeat those recommendations.  In addition, please examine the Land O'Lakes Statement that has provided the game plan for undermining Catholic higher education and the various versions of the Humanist Manifesto (the first one was signed by John Dewey, reputed "father of American public education").  I also recommend the book "Behind the Lodge Door" by Paul A. Fisher.  Google the title and many sites (including Amazon) appear, from where you can order the book.  In that book is discussed the many ways that Freemasonry has had detrimental impacts on American culture.  I'd also recommend the dvd movie "Maafa 21" that details the rise of the pro-death movement in America.  Hint: watch the movie and read Fisher's book together; there are common linkages!

So now that I've described some detrimental and even demonic influences upon American and Catholic culture, did all that mean we were doomed sitting ducks?  I think not, but that means more questions must be answered.  Consider the generation that fought in World War II, the so-called "Greatest Generation."  Now let me be clear; they did indeed, at great sacrifice, fend off and defeat some of the worst totalitarians ever to walk the earth.  Because of them, civilization was saved - for the time being.  Yet we must admit that much mischief happened just a few years later, when this Greatest Generation had laid aside its military uniforms and weapons and took their places in political offices.  Under their watch, Lyndon Johnson foisted the so-called "Great Society" with its destructive welfare system on us.  Crime skyrocketed.  To top things off, the Roe v Wade decision came down, courtesy of justices appointed by presidents who were WWII veterans.  We can only conclude that they were indeed asleep at the switch.  It seems that many (not all!) forgot that "the price of liberty is eternal vigilance" - with emphasis on the word "eternal".

While I think that much can be explained by Carlin's book (again, check the website book list), something more fundamental went awry.  In the December issue of Homiletic and Pastoral Review is an article written by John Young entitled "From Order to Chaos in Ten Years".  (It's not online yet, but when it is, I'll post the link.)  He points out that the current problems in the Church didn't just magically appear during the turbulent 1960s.  He mentions that Pope St Pius X understood the problem of modernism and issued Pascendi Dominici Gregis.  His encyclical was followed by Pope Pius XII's encyclical Hamani Generis. (Go to the side bar to see encyclicals from Leo XIII onward).

He then talks of his experience of Catholicism in his life and his fellow Catholics.  I was a child during that time, but a fairly observant one.  I can corroborate what Young says based on my own observations.  He points out that while the "rank and file" Catholic during the 1950s generally didn't question what they were taught, they really didn't have a deep grasp of the truths of their faith.  They (like I) could recite the Baltimore Catechism, but couldn't give answers that represented intellectual depth and integration of the truths into their personal lives. They didn't take it seriously.  They did not strive for the highest level of sanctity that they could achieve.  In a word, they didn't make the Faith to heart and make it their own.  In fact, while they may have accepted the directives of the Magisterium in matters of faith and morals, many of them chafed under what they thought were joy-robbing restrictions.  This was particularly true in matters pertaining to sexuality.

At that time, the 1930 Lambeth Conference had already occurred - that conference in which the Anglicans shamed themselves by admitting the usage of contraception.  After the Vatican II conference (and the various misinterpretations regarding it), many matters of discipline were relaxed (fasting before Communion, etc).  There was talk of the Church admitting the usage of contraception.  Of course, that didn't happen - Humanae Vitae happened instead.

I write all this to explain what I believe are the reasons for the faith of Catholics melting like snow in hell during the 1960s: how fairly loyal Catholics could just fall like dominoes into rebellion against the True Church and ultimately against Our Lord Himself.  They did not make heaven their ultimate aim in life.  They did not make holiness a prime personal goal.  I think Mr. Young's lessons are worth the read.

Advent started today, as did a new liturgical year.  This would be an excellent time to take stock, to make the Kingdom of God our ultimate aim.  There is no such thing as a "good enough" Catholic.  The minute anyone thinks he or she is "good enough", that may well be a warning sign of complacency or worse.

Sheeple Sign Petition To Ban Pressure Cookers

The word "sheeple" is the only word I can concoct that fits folks who would beg the government to abridge their rights as adults.  They seem to want a nanny-state!  Well, all I can say is that the John Dewey-inspired progressive school system has done its job too well and Church leaders have done theirs abysmally.

ClashDaily.com's "liberal chick" got dozens of these signatures!  Just watch!

Education in the Messianic Crosshairs

Anyone with their eyes half open knows that one of the worst things to happen to education in this country is the Department of Education.  It might just be as well known as the Department of Stupifying and Brainwashing.  Having a minor in secondary education from the University of Maryland, I know that John Dewey is held to be the undisputed "father of modern education".  He most likely is.  He also was a signer of the first Humanist Manifesto.  Go to this link and read the principles enumerated in the various versions.  You'll see that many of them are very much implemented and taught in public education today.

But the process of education take-over must have been deemed by the Messiah to be incomplete - and he is working (behind Congress' back) to "rectify" that situation by dictating new standards.  Again, this is White House fiat, a flat-out exercise in dictatorship.

We also see a state-by-state initiative to corrupt our youngsters.  Watch the clip below from American Life League (If you cannot see embedded videos, click here).

Education - Obama Style

Actually John Dewey would have approved of this also. This is how educators would grind children down to be just little cogs in the progressive planned socialism "utopia".

Why Government-Controlled Education Must Be Abolished

The initials "NEA" more aptly stand for "Nationalist Educators' Arrogance" than they do the more conventional organization name.  Listen to one of their minions in their Michigan affiliate.  She doesn't bother to couch her disdain for parents in any nuanced language.  Click here if you cannot see embedded video.

One of my degrees from the University of Maryland featured a minor in secondary education.  Thus I know first-hand how educators are taught to view themselves.  I also know that John Dewey, signer of the original Humanaist Manifesto, is revered as the "father of modern education".  I agree that is a most appropriate title for him, although I don't think "reverence" is a proper response to his work in setting up a structure in which children can be molded into passive little puppets for progressivism.

I salute my home-schooling friends for taking their parental responsibilities seriously and for giving their children education worth its name.

Planned Parenthood - Wrecking Spiritual And Physical Havoc

Our Lady of Fatima told the three children that more people go to hell for sins of the flesh than for any other reason.  As you watch the video below, you will see how Planned Parenthood is working to catapult our children into eternal damnation, using our tax dollars to do so.  Planned Parenthood is in cahoots with public/progressive education.  Again consider the school official's open disdain for parents as she somehow thinks that she knows better than the parents.  I had pointed out that John Dewey signed the original Humanist Manifesto.  He had died before the first revision was published, but Alan Guttamacher signed that one.  They share the same godless, hedonistic philosophy that is contained in both the manifestos.

Now watch the ALL video and see how Planned Parenthood works to pollute your children's minds - often within the public schools.  PLEASE DON'T LET YOUR CHILDREN WATCH THIS VIDEO!  You, however, must be informed of the filth for which you are paying.  Click here if you cannot see embedded video.

Coming To A Public School Near You?

It's called Common Core.  Ostensibly a benign effort to "normalize" educational standards, it's nothing more than the Department of Education trying to brainwash the hapless children in public schools.  I'd like to point out that I studied secondary education at the University of Maryland and even then the department was overrun by progressive fans of John Dewey.  I can only imagine it's worse now.

If you think I'm just spouting "right-wing hysteria", you can keep your heads buried in the sand.  Otherwise, you may wish to review this video by concerned parents and citizens from Utah.  Apparently the curriculum for "language arts" is identical to the curriculum for "left-wing community-organizing"; and it starts in first grade.

By the way - if you live in Indiana, please thank Governor Pence for putting the brakes on this mess.  The Federal government has no Constitutional authority to meddle in education; that is the rightful purview of parents.

Social Studies = Socialist Indoctrination?

I think it's a definite possibility, given how most of the "social studies" departments in all levels of education are exclusively populated by leftists.  As you read this article by Michael Beran, bear in mind that John Dewey was a humanist who signed the Humanist Manifesto.  Anyone who studied education in the United States knows that he is rightly considered to be the "father of modern education".  That's NOT a compliment!  By and large, the poor kids in public schools are being taught to be unquestioningly subservient to the progressives in big government.  A good number escape the stupefying influences, owing to decent family life and Christianity being taught in the home, but they face incredible odds at school.

Many of my friends home-school their children.  I salute their commitment to the upbringing of their children.

NEA: Why Public Schools Are Down The Crapper

World Net Daily, in an online article, exposed the adulation that the National Education Association bestowed upon Chairman Mao and the Communist Revolution in China.  It suggested October 1st as a day to celebrate that event.  Since the WND article went online, the NEA attempted to sanitize its own site by removing incriminating evidence.  Alas, WND cached it, so it remains for the world to see!

To briefly summarize what the Communist thugs did to China, I'll give some bullets:
  • Persecution of all religions, from the Catholic Church to Tibetan Buddhism, with imprisonment and brutal treatment of leaders
  • The "one-child" policy, resulting in forced abortions and sterlilzations, and now a great gender imbalance amongst the people
  • Tieneman Square - remember that?
John Dewey, about whom I've written in earlier posts, did much to contrive the mess known as public education.  He is considered the "father of modern education".  While that itself is true, I don't think that is necessarily an honor.  Read the entire WND article to learn how he enthused about communism.   Those of you with school-age children, home-schooling is a viable option, and probably the one that will best enable your children not to lose their souls and their minds.

NEA - Another Reason To Homeschool Your Children

The National Education Association recently had their annual meeting in Chicago.  Of course they made some key decisions.  So what did they decide?  Well, since they are ostensibly about education, one might think they focused on schools and what students are learning.  Maybe they focused on hiring and retaining quality teachers, or seeing how they could improve drop-out rates, etc.  BUT - the big news was nothing of the sort.  The news actually comes in two parts.

First, they announced that they endorse Obama for President.  Having been too familiar with their antics over the years, I realize that this organization is right up John Dewey's ally and know that they are shills for progressives in this country.  Still, one might argue that this is a waste of the dues that teachers pay into this organization - which brings us to the second part.

That second part is the announcement that they are going to double the assessment that individual teachers must pay to this over-vaunted cabal.  That's right - double!  No big deal?  We're talking about teachers and their relatively-poor salaries being levied for the purpose of funding the campaign coffers of the Messiah Most Miserable.

Parents, do your children and your country a favor.  Get them away from the malevolent influences of this culture of death, of which the NEA is a part.
