Archbishop Vigano On The Russia Versus Ukraine Situation

Archbishop Vigano has some wise words regarding the present eastern Europe tensions.  They run counter to leftwing propaganda that portrays "big bad Russia" pouncing on "poor innocent Ukraine".  Of course the Ukrainian citizens are bearing the horrible brunt of this matter, but we need to realize that Schwab, Soros and the rest of the "new-world-order" oligarchs have their paw prints all over it - not to mention the Biden family that has had financial involvements in the Ukraine.

Catholic Standard Watch - Progressive Catholics Diss Trump's Appearance At March For Life

Here is the article in question.  Please note that it is a Catholic News Service piece; thus it is most likely published at the unction of the USCCB.  First, we see quoted one John Gehring, Catholic program director of Faith in Public Life.  One would never know from this puff piece that FPL is funded by George Soros.  John Gehring is not fit to be quoted in any Catholic publication.  His complaints about the President are no doubt guided by his own progressive leanings (not to mention Soros and the USCCB).

Next to whine is Father Dauses, pastor of St Andrew by the Bay in Annapolis.  He is quoted as saying he was "really, really conflicted attending" the March.  Were the babies a high priority for him?  That is a fair question, in light of the "social justice" page from his parish's website.  This group, in working with other nearby "faith communities", identified "6 priorities".  Notice what is not a priority.

These two progressives are simply using the president's presence as a feeble excuse for their own disregard of unborn children.  At least the article quoted Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life, who made plain that the murder of thousands of babies daily trumps all other issues in scope and importance.  As long as our clergy remain on the dole from progressive sugar daddies, they will be morally compromised and will likely have difficulty at their particular judgments.

Tsk! Tsk! George Soros Is Behind On His Payments! For Shame!

And Anitfa is none too happy!  When one employs barbarians, one must make sure there is no discord in the ranks lest they do to you what you directed that they do to others!  By the way - The twitter account to which the video was posted is a satire account.  That doesn't indicate whether or not the video account itself is authentic.  Still, it's good for a laugh.

What isn't satire is that Soros funds not only this bunch of neanderthals, but close to two hundred other progressive cabals.  Here's the list.  Please note that the Campaign for Human Development partners with many of these.  Here's a "rule of thumb" that I follow; I donate to nothing that has any affiliation whatsoever with any of these sordid outfits.

Soros, Pope, UN: Using Environmentalism To Achieve One World Government

The Fatima Center, on its youtube page, has quite a few informative videos.  I post one now, of a talk given by Elizabeth Yore, an attorney whose research uncovered evidence of links between Pope Francis, the United Nations, and George Soros.  She also underscores how the aim of One World Government is being furthered under the cloak of environmentalism.  Michael Voris touched upon the anti-life philosophy behind environmentalism in one of his exposes.  That episode was produced while Pope Benedict XVI was still on the Chair of Peter so the Vatican had not been completely turned over to the Soros cabal.  After Pope Francis ascended, we saw quite an ominous display of the worship of environmentalism; how that display could have been more blatant I don't know.

Yore concludes by stating that we must do our part in waking up Catholics in the pew, many of them oblivious to the warfare for their Church and their very souls.  That means you!  See here an example of that from Cardinal Burke.

Is Pope Francis The Mouthpiece And Face Of World-Wide Progressivism?

From One Peter Five we read that a few days ago, at the World Meeting Of Popular Movements in California, Pope Francis released a letter that:

• publicly praises the Alinskyite organization People Improving Communities through Organizing (PICO for short) 
• advocates open resistance to President Trump's attempts to bring order to immigration in the US
• falsely declared that "muslim terrorism does not exist"

At that same meeting, Bishop Robert McElroy of the Diocese of San Diego snarked, "President Trump was the candidate of disruption.  Well now, we must all become disrupters."  McElroy was appointed by Pope Francis to his current position.  Since then he has stated that adulterers and gays should "utilize the internal forum of conscience" when it comes to receiving Holy Communion; in other words, this errant bishop is lulling these mortal sinners into heaping more mortal sin on their souls, rendering even more distant the prospect of eternal salvation.  I've written on McElroy in the past.

I would urge careful study of the first two links to understand how this California meeting is setting the stage for "community-organizing" rackets funded by George Soros to dominate the affairs and priorities of the Church hierarchy.  Indeed, the 1P5 piece voices the opinion that since Hillary Clinton has been effectively jettisoned from prominence, that the mantle of "front-man for progressivism" has fallen on the all-too-willing shoulders of Pope Francis.  

There is cause for that opinion, it seems.  Recall how wikileaks played a role in the defeat of Hillary Clinton as emails were leaked that detailed all sorts of nefarious deeds of the Democrat cabal.  From Gloria TV we now see another revelation from these emails: that Clinton, Obama and George Soros orchestrated the "resignation" of Pope Benedict XVI, using bribery and blackmail to oust him and usher in Pope Francis.  At the time I suspect that they didn't think that Pope Francis would be the front-person for anti-God progressives as they fully expected Clinton to win the White House.  But since both Clinton and Obama no longer wield official sway, the pope could be seen as someone to fill that void.  I regret that he seems to be performing aptly in that role.

Last month LifeSiteNews published a piece called, "2016: The Year That Pope Francis Finally Showed His Hand".  Several of us saw that earlier than 2016 as warning signs did abound. Even to this day, some Catholics refuse to accept that all may not be well with this papacy despite all evidence to the contrary.

Understanding that in most cases "personnel is policy", let's look at some of the seismic shifts in personnel.  We've noted the ouster of Cardinal Burke from his positions at the Vatican.  Now he's been jettisoned from the Knights of Malta while being slandered in the process.  We see Cardinals Muller, Sarah, Pell being treated as though there were targets drawn on their backs.  Meanwhile we see dissidents like McElroy, Cardinal Joseph Tobin, Cupich being elevated to roles of responsibility.  Today Judie Brown of American Life League lamented the de facto dismantling of the Pontifical Academy for Life - a council in which she was a member for fifteen years.  Most of the prominent members of that council - including Cardinal Caffarra, one of the "dubia cardinals" - took strong exception to Amoris Laetitia and the confusion caused by it.

In the past 2000+ years of Church history, the Church has had to deal with pontiffs who didn't live up to their office and who in fact were quite evil - Alexander VI comes immediately to mind.  While we cannot say for certain that such is the case now, we'd be dishonest to pretend that the same couldn't be the case now.  We need to pray for the Church and its leaders - many of whom have thrown in their lot with anti-God progressives and wreaking havoc on the faith of millions. 

Why Did Catholic Groups Attend The March To Perdition?

Yesterday I commented on the "pussy hat" that many deluded women wore to the Women's March.  It turns out that the hat was somewhat innocuous compared to some of the get-up that many women wore.  To wit:

 As I said yesterday, this is a far cry from what I remember the feminist movement of the 1960s to be.  Can anyone believe that Susan Anthony, Elizabeth Stanton or any of the other earlier pioneers would have approved of this nonsense?

These gals claim that they want to be respected.  Respected for what?  There is a degree to which respect must be earned.  As you can see, many - maybe most of the women in attendance dressed and acted in ways demonstrating that they have no sense of dignity as human beings, let alone women.

These gals claim that they were concerned with a variety of issues.  Climate change, environmentalism, etc-etc, yada-yada was among them.  See how they demonstrated their concern for the environment as they departed from the orgy.  Great example, right?  By the way - I attended a number of Tea Party rallies a few years ago.  I can attest that we know better than these progressives.  Here's what they left behind.

Well, perhaps George Soros can clean up the mess.  It seems that his paw prints are all over this debacle.  According to this New York Times article, he has financial ties with about 50 of the "partners" that produced this orgy.  Recall that he was also one of Hillary's biggest donors.  These progressives like to pretend that the march was a "spontaneous groundswell".  Well, when big bucks influence things a bit, I'm sure it can be seen to be "spontaneous".  Right!

The presence of Soros influence and cash might be a reason why a pro-life women's organization was given the heave-ho.  Initially they were permitted to be a partner, but after some very nasty tweets (and perhaps other financially-based incentives), their status was rescinded.  I will now link to a Church Militant piece on the matter.  Embedded in that article is an interview with the president of that pro-life organization.

Now I will broach another troubling aspect of yesterday's March to Perdition.  These days, it seems that these affairs are never quite complete without some dissident Catholics literally selling their souls by striking hands with demonic forces.  Two Catholic institutions of higher learning (?) sent busloads of their students to the march in Minnesota.  I thought these schools were supposed to be forming the hearts and minds of students so that they would follow Christ and His Church, helping them towards eternal salvation.  Yesterday these schools sacrificed the souls of their students on the idolatrous altar of political correctness.  In Chicago, a bunch of Franciscans joined the perverts and pro-aborts in their revelry.  I embed a tweet from one of their Franciscan buddies.  He denies supporting abortion.  Well, be that as it may, they all gave aid and comfort to pro-aborts.  Even if they were initially unaware of the nature of the event, they were duty-bound to leave as soon as they did become aware.  Since these perverts were so brazen in their conduct, the Franciscans could not have remained oblivious for long.  They simply didn't care.  Now the tweet.

Pope Claims Environmentalism A Work Of Mercy - At Soros' Bidding?

Remember "Father Goodvibes"?  At the end of that post, I expressed my hopes that such a scenario would remain a parody.  Alas, such is not to be, as Pope Francis has swallowed the envirowhacko kool-aid.  Moreover, it seems that he's trying to force-feed Catholics that same poison on pain of sin!

Earlier today, at the "World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation", the pope called "global warming" a "sin against God", and must be "atoned" by recycling, separating trash, using public transportation, etc.  For different accounts of the nonsense, see here, here, here.  He has gone so far as to designate "care of creation" as a de facto "Eighth Corporal Work of Mercy".

Far from being a "work of mercy", the embrace of environmentalism is to embrace knowingly the demonic, anti-life dictates of Satan himself.  I and others have written extensively on:

• The lack of true scientific basis for the "global warming" hysteria.  Many scientists debunk the nonsense - and have paid dearly for it.  Please read this link, and the links embedded therein.  I strongly suggest watching the well-researched videos.
• The anti-life motives of key leaders of this "global warming" schtick.  More and more they are becoming quite brazen about their goals.

The linked post in the last bullet highlighted the possible role that George Soros may be playing in this whole mess.  We see in discoverthenetworks.org that Soros funds EarthJustice and Defenders of Wildlife.  Human Events reveals some of his envirowhacko dabblings.  Last week we learned that Soros gave $650 billion (not million but billion) to PICO and Faith In Public Life to sway bishops to doing his bidding.  Father Sirico of the Acton Institute elaborated on that, calling these groups "Soros's Catholic Useful Idiots".  Well, maybe these groups aren't the only "useful idiots" in Soros' back pocket.  That may well apply to the pope himself, as he deliberately uses the weight of his high office to attempt to bind the consciences of Catholics into accepting "global warming" junk science.

"What's that you say?" I hear the rose-glasses wearers shrieking.  Well, the only other alternative is to suspect that the pope is a knowing and willing henchman of Soros', if not a partner.

We must of course pray for the pope, that he takes up his task to defend the Teachings of Jesus Christ, not twist them to suit some well-heeled progressive megalomaniac.

George Soros: Puppet Master For Hillary And The Vatican?

When I wrote my post this past Sunday (two days ago) about the anti-life motives of the climate-change crowd, I asked the question "how much Soros money is in this Catholic climate movement thing".  Some news today gives the answer to that question: billions of dollars.

Elizabeth Yore, an attorney affiliated with the Heartland Institute, wrote an article that was occasioned by some proceeds of the wikileaks data dump.  In the information was also details of plans to leverage Pope Francis' influence to sway the presidential election to Hillary Clinton.  Through his Open Society Institute, Soros planned to grant $650 billion to PICO and Faith in Public Life to engage the bishops regarding "income inequality": that is, apologetics for socialism.  Yore's article appears in the Remnant and on LifeSiteNews we see more details.

Yore mentioned that in 2015 both Vatican officials (Cardinal Maradiaga key among them) and Soros personnel collaborated on an Apostolic Exhortation on Climate Change and backing for the Paris Climate Treaty.  I wrote a bit about that at the time, noting the progressives that were wined and dined at the Vatican; see this anthology of posts.  In that first post I wrote, "I would like to think that the Vatican is just being naive and easily led when it comes to climate change.  However, I now believe there are powerful forces within the Vatican - the same ones controlling the USCCB - that are pulling puppet strings and doing their utmost to promote progressive agendas upon the whole world."  Now we know, and it makes perfect sense.  In USANews, we find remarks that Soros made about himself, remarks that seem to be quite candid to say the least.  He apparently holds himself to be some sort of "god" who controls Hillary and most likely the Vatican.  Obviously he's got the "god" part wrong, but he does wield massive influence over the leftwing in this country and in the Vatican.

The realization of Soros' influence at the Vatican seems to put many things in a new light:

• The bizarre resignation of Pope Benedict XVI
• The personnel shake-ups at the Vatican: Burke out, the formation of this "gang of nine", with Soros ally Maradiaga at the helm
• The none-too-disguised manipulation of the two family sin-nods

Of course they may all just be coincidences.  But there's so many of them - like so many dots out there just begging to be connected.

We must pray for our Church, and we must understand just what is happening to her in order to do so.

Cardinal Wuerl Swills Down Climate-Change Kool-Aid

The Catholic News Agency reports that a forum on economic growth and "environmental sustainability" took place in Rome two days ago, and Cardinal Wuerl was in attendance.  Isn't it interesting how this forum occurred just weeks after the Sachs/Moon debacle?  But I digress.

This gab-fest was sponsored by the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace.  If that name has a familiar ring to it, it's because that's the council to which Pope Francis named the flaming dissident Fr. Timothy Radcliffe as consulter.

While there seemed to be no overt mention of "population control" at this meeting as there was three weeks ago, the Cardinal did refer to "sustainable development" as a "sign of the times".  We do know that the concept of  "sustainable development" does segue into population control and governmental growth.

While the Cardinal did acknowledge the role of "business interests", we see other sorts of "business" coming onto the scene.  Also at that meeting were representatives of World Resources Institute and New Climate Economy.  Take a look at the page listing all of WRI's "experts and staff".  It goes on and on and on!  What kind of operating budget does this outfit have?  Can we see that whole industries are growing out of the "climate change" schtick?  It doesn't seem to be limited to Al Gore's "carbon offset" swindles.

I took a look at the list of donors for WRI, having a suspicion regarding the identity of one of them.  Sure enough!  There it is!  The Open Society Foundations - in other words, George Soros.  I knew his paw prints had to be all over this.  Joining him we also see the Rockefeller Brothers Fund - all enemies of Jesus Christ and His Church and shills for one-world government.

In light of all this dangerous tomfoolery in which our bishops and even the pope seem to be engaging, I'd suggest careful study of this post from One Peter Five.  Above all, pray and receive the Sacrament frequently.

Obama-Appointed Former Vatican Ambassador Implicated In Sexual Harrassment

Miguel Diaz, theology professor at University of Dayton, will be transferring to Loyola University of Chicago.  This move comes on the heels of an investigation that he sexually harassed a married couple who also work at the University of Dayton.  No, that is not a typo.  He allegedly harassed the couple - both husband and wife.  If there's such a thing as an "equal opportunity harasser", Diaz might be the prototype.

The investigation results are that it is "likely" that the harassment occurred.  But should this be any surprise?  Let's look a bit more into Diaz's history.  This Catholic News Agency article sums it up.  He has been a member of the Soros-funded "Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good".  He has contributed to Obama's election (and rewarded with the Vatican appointment).  While claiming to be "pro-life", he signed a statement supporting the nomination of Kathleen Sebelius as HHS Secretary.

So what's the connection between his dubious associations and this current allegation of misconduct?  How about "lex orandi, lex credendi, lex vivendi"?  If one is going to associate with progressives and in fact be a progressive himself, it's far more likely that he/she will adopt liberal and libertine morals.  Deviate from the Magisterium in one or few respects, and if you don't repent, the moral contagion will corrode the rest of your life.  Miguel Diaz may be just the latest piece of evidence for that truism.

Bishop Lynch Defends Soros-Funded Catholic Relief Services

In the past few weeks Catholic Relief Services has shown its true colors (that is, anti-God and anti-life colors) by allowing, if not outright directing its personnel to distribute abortifacients in Madagascar.  Of course it earned well-deserved rebukes.  The progressive cartel within the bowels of ecclesiastic bureaucracy seemed to have received their marching orders and speaking points for now they are leaping to the defense of those USCCB organs that are funneling money towards the culture of death.

The latest to attempt "damage-control" is none other than Bishop Robert Lynch of the Diocese of St Petersburg FL.  I now link to an article that he posted on his blog this past Wednesday.   I won't pick apart the whole thing, lest I be here all night.  But I will point out one or two things, in light of his own chequered past.

He snidely refers to the Population Research Institute (a branch of Human Life International) as "an allegedly pro-life group" and many others (probably Yours Truly) as "notoriously and consistently wrong entities who thrive on attacking the Church or its entities".  If he's looking for examples of malfeasance by "allegedly pro-life entities", perhaps he need look no further than his own doings eight years ago.

It was a little over eight years ago that Terri Schindler Schiavo was murdered - "legally", of course - within his own diocese.  Not only did he do nothing to prevent it, but he went so far as to suggest that the final word regarding Terri's fate "rightly" lay in the hands of her murderous husband who was already living with his then-concubine.  One year later, American Life League interviewed Terri's family and posted it online.  It details further insulted meted to the Schindlers by Bishop Lynch.  And the bishop has the audacity to say that we are the allegedly pro-life ones???

But perhaps there's more to Bishop Lynch's posturings than meets the eye.  As with many things progressive these days, there seems to be a common denominator.  That "common denominator" has a name - George Soros.

My Catholic Media Coalition colleague, herself a Florida resident, posted an article sometime before Terri died that examines some of the key villains in that situation and some of the money trail.  Yes, Bishop Lynch is one of the villains.  To supplement this article, I'd suggest reading this blog piece entitled Soros and Schiavo.  This delves more into the history of George Soros' involvement in the pro-euthanasia movement in the US.

But anti-life groups aren't the only recipients of Soros' largess!  Why, he's been known to give to Catholic groups, too.  Well, some "katholyc" groups - those that serve as fronts for the Culture of Death!  Five years ago, Discoverthenetworks detailed how Soros money had infested the Church.  Chris Korzen of Catholics United tried to deflect some criticism of Bill Donohue by whining that Soros "contributes to Catholic Charities, Catholic Relief Services and Catholic Legal Immigration Services".  Donohue erred a bit by implying that those three weren't apologists for abortion.  Perhaps Donohue had not heard that Catholic Charities of Richmond VA was under federal investigation for paying for a minor's abortion (with full knowledge of Richmond Bishop DiLorenzo).  And of course Donohue's statement was long before the CRS aided and abetted murder in Madagascar.

Now perhaps the reader is wondering why I italicized the words "Catholic Relief Services".  At the time that Terri Schiavo was being murdered in Florida, guess who was the board chair of CRS?  Yes - Bishop Robert Lynch.  Please don't tell me he had no idea whatsoever of the Soros money flowing into CRS coffers - and probably still is.  In situations such as this, another version of the "golden rule" is in force, that is, "he who has the gold, rules".  As long as they accept Soros "gold", they accept Soros "rule"; sadly I think they accept both all too willingly.

How Can One Tell When It's CCHD Collection Time?

One answer to that question is "when the CCHD and their supporters start their preemptive screeds against faithful Catholics concerned about their left-wing leanings".  For example, David Gibson of Religion News Service starts his piece by claiming that "conservative activists are threatening the social mission of the Catholic Church... by attacking the Church's flagship anti-poverty program with 21st-century style Catholic McCarthyism."  

Of course he refers to the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.  Obviously Mr. Gibson is unaware that the CCHD, by policy, gives no money to organizations that directly perform the Corporal Works of Mercy.  Perhaps Mr. Gibson knows that and he doesn't give a hoot.  At any rate, CCHD has traditionally given grants - collected from Catholics during the in-pew collections - to organizations that seek to "change social structures and policies".  That quote is taken from one of their flyers.  More often than not, these organizations are socialist in nature, along the lines of Saul Alinsky.  Indeed, the CCHD was originated by Msgr Jack Egan, an associate (and disciple) of Saul Alinsky for the express purpose of syphoning Catholic resources to fund these community-organizing endeavors (Barack Obama cut his political teeth while working with the Gamaliel Foundation, one such group).  But this blog's previous posts have delved in detail into CCHD's sordid past - no need to rehash that here.

Gibson cites as his main source Faith in Public Life - you know, the progressive outfit funded by George Soros.  Here is the link to the 24-page report that snivels about the "growing threat".  If anything's a "growing threat", it's the tentacles of progressives that infest the bowels of the USCCB offices.  I count it as a high compliment to be among those they perceive as a "threat" to them siphoning Catholic money to their causes, but I digress.  

A perusal of page 2 of their report will give you quite a number of progressives and Obama supporters; many of these individuals and entities can be entered into this blog's search box for more information: Pax Christi,   Thomas Chabolla, Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, Catholics United, LCWR, the disgraced Bishop Gumbleton, Stephen Schenk.  The rest of that report will need to be studied in greater detail.  

Getting back to Gibson's article, I must mention one line that is so silly as to be downright amusing.  He complains about the "well-financed network" that we are, in his third paragraph.  I think I can speak for many of my compatriots when I say that none of that "finance" has greased our palms!  On the other hand, when multi-billionaire George Soros has his paw-prints all over Faith in Public Life and its endeavors, it's not too hard to see where the cold cash really flows.

Lest anyone think that this Gibson piece is just a flash in the pan, I now link to an article in the Chicago Sun-Times by Mark Brown.  Recall that recently, a "gay marriage" bill was defeated in Illinois.  Now Brown is waxing ominous about the Church "playing hardball" with groups that supported perversion of marriage.  He's complaining that the CCHD there might cut off their funding.  Imagine that!  The Catholic Church expects those receiving Catholic money to honor Catholic principles!  Here's hoping they hold firm.  Anyway, we can see how the mainstream media is marching lockstep behind the progressives who are trying to leech money from Catholics to undermine Christian principles.

There will be more on this.  For now, I (and I'm sure my friends) take it as a high compliment that the CCHD apologists feel they have to do this preemptive "damage-control" to restore what at one time was an easy source of cash from unsuspecting Catholics.  We're "unsuspecting" no longer.  The truth is coming out.  Please read the FPL report, and also study the report put out by the Reform CCHD Now Coalition.

Critic Of Progressive Katholyc Groups Targeted By IRS

Doctor Ann Hendershott, a sociology professor and Catholic author, found herself undergoing a grueling

audit by the Internal Revenue Service after penning a number of articles critical of the Messiah Most Miserable.  The full Blaze article can be found here.

Although she made no profit from her writing ventures, the IRS demanded to know who paid her.  Moreover, they called her to their office and insisted that she come alone.

It should be noted that she not only criticized Obama in her articles, but also some notoriously left-wing "katholyc" groups, such as "Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good" and "Catholics United".  Hendershott exposed their financial ties to George Soros just a few months prior to the IRS harassment.

Moral of the story - if you criticize the Messiah Most Miserable or even just the Minions Most Mindless, you might get a rap at your door or a phone call.  We trust that they will be so decent as to do so only during waking hours.

However, in all fairness to the Man-Child of the White House, the IRS has been doing such strong-arming long before he was born (wherever that was).  It appears that FDR got them started on their wicked ways and many Dems - and at least one Republican - made use of their arm-twisting tricks.  A Wall Street Journal piece has a decent summary of the IRS's chequered career.

Catholic Morality And Right To Self Defense

Thanks to Pewsitter today, I found an excellent treatise on the right to self-defense as found in Catholic tradition.  The author refers both to Summa Theologica (click here and go to Article 7) and the Catholic Catechism, summarizing the conditions under which the use of lethal force may be allowed and even mandated.

I suggest that all read it.  One interesting point he makes is why so many abortion proponents seem keen on depriving us of the means of self-defense - and he makes perfect sense.  The progressives who push for abortion and the destruction of the traditional family wish to make the state into a de facto deity.  The right to self defense comes from God - a source outside the state.  Thus they perceive this right as a supreme threat to their state-idol. Their puppets in the USCCB and various chanceries are merely doing their bidding to make people more dependent upon, and subservient to the state-idol.  Why are these preceding sentences italicized?  You'll see below!

A perfect "case-in-point" occurred yesterday in the online edition of the Not-So Catholic Reporter.  The bloviations typical for that rag run rampant throughout the article, calling for disarming the citizen (What?  Do you  think crooks are going to obey gun laws and surrender their arms?)  One source of the whining is John Gehring of Faith in Public Life.  My Catholic Media Coalition colleague, Stephanie Block, exposed Faith in Public Life for the left-wing front organization that it is.  Here's another piece that she did.  Faith in Public Life has taken money from George Soros.  So much for their credibility when it comes to things Catholic.

Another key whiner is none other than the USCCB.  They issued a statement that says in a footnote (tucked away so we nasty right-wing bloggers don't notice!), "However, we believe that in the long run and with few exceptions -- i.e., police officers, military use -- handguns should be eliminated from our society."  Now compare this statement to the italicized sentences two paragraphs prior to this one.  The USCCB is indeed spouting the talking points of their progressive puppet-masters.  They are doing so even to the point of dissenting from Catholic moral teaching in regards to the right to self defense.  To me, that means that the push to disarm that may come from "social justice" arms of chanceries and conferences must be opposed and resisted as the departures from morality that they are.

USCCB Responds To Soros-Funded Critics

On June 7, the USCCB issued an Advisory Memo to Journalists to respond to silly criticisms lobbed against the Fortnight for Freedom effort.  The USCCB reveals some background of the sources of the criticisms - and the funding behind them.  My!  It does seem that George Soros is under compulsion to stick his fingers into all sorts of Church matters!  He's such a busy little atheist.  After outlining all the squalid background of the criticisms, the USCCB correctly points out,  "these do not seem like eminent qualifications for telling bishops how to guide the Church."   That statement might win an "Understatement of the Year" award.

Who Funded "Nuns On The Bus"?

In several posts regarding the "Nuns On The Bus" schlep in the luxury bus, I asked who was funding the whole excursion.  That gas-guzzling luxury bus cost quite a bit of money - more than the normal religious could ever afford.

I had my suspicions as to who/what was the sugar-daddy behind it - suspicions that I'm sure were shared by many.  Father Zuhlsdorf"s blog just confirmed it.  The far-reaching and much-money tentacles of George Soros were behind it.

More On Soros's Stranglehood On Mainstream Media

In May I linked to reports that detail how much of the mainstream-lamebrain media is heavily influenced, if not controlled, by George Soros.  A few days ago, the Media Research Center also published a report to which I now link.  There may well be overlap between the two, but please read both and follow the links therein.  The latter contains names of prominent media personnel who occupy positions in Soros-controlled or Soros-funded entities.  It's quite eye-opening.

The tentacles of the Soros squid can be found everywhere - even within organizations that bear the name "Catholic".  Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good is one such group that comes to mind, having received $200k from the Soros-controlled Open Society Institute.  Another organization, established by the USCCB is Catholic Legal Immigration Network (CLINIC).  Please read this from America's Survival, Inc. as it further emphasizes what has been previously reported on this blog - the ties that Soros has to the USCCB itself.

Mainstream Media In The Back Pocket Of George Soros

Two weeks ago, I brought to your attention a Fox News report on the tenacles of George Soros in the mainstream-lamebrain media.  CNS News gives us more information on the millions that Soros has poured into mainstream-lamebrain media.  That link goes to the third part of a four-part series.  A link to the author will in turn link to the others (at this writing, the fourth part is not yet released).

Many people still do not question the media, although more and more of them are waking up.  Read these reports to get an idea of the brains and motivation behind what is being spoon-fed to so many people today.

Sweeney Gets Dressed Down At CUA Symposium

In late April, I advised you of a "symposium" on Rerum Novarum to be held at Catholic University of America on May 2-3.  I opined that it would be nothing more than a progressive brain-washing session.  It turns out that is precisely what it was, and the speakers didn't bother to conceal their agendas.

Accuracy in Media has a report on what transpired.  (By the way - I forgot to mention in that April post that prior to his taking over the AFL-CIO, Sweeney was CEO of the SEIU).  Sweeney went into a tirade about the governor of Wisconsin reining in the runaway unions there, going so far as to insinuate (incorrectly) that Scott Walker was out of step with Jesus Christ Himself (Of course the "separation of church and state" crowd has uttered not a peep - surprised?  But I digress).  Behaving like the typical arrogant progressive wonk, he then proceeded to badmouth the Catholic University itself, calling them "union-busters".  Watch that video on the AIM site, as well as the others.  For those who can't see embedded video, click here for the Sweeney clip.

But apparently Sweeney got his comeuppance right then and there.  CUA officials read a statement that accused Sweeney of lying, leaving Sweeney stunned into silence.  Oh, to have been a fly on the wall at that meeting!   Now here's some more delicious irony.  That statement was read by Stephen Schenk, chair of the department that sponsored the symposium.  He apparently was ordered to read that, and he must have done so reluctantly.  Bear in mind that Schenk sits on the board of Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good - a group that draws significant funding from George Soros.  Moreover, he was one of the lead writers in the letter to Speaker of the House John Boehner that accused him of being out of step with Church teaching. 

I'm sensing a common theme here.  Various progressive wonks with ties to progressive atheist billionare George Soros accuse conservative officials of "not following Catholic teaching" because they don't throw money at unions and governmental bureaucracies.  Georgy-boy seems to have lots of fingers in lots of pies, doesn't he?

Getting back to the rebuke that Sweeney received, I haven't learned yet of where a full text of that can be reviewed.  I'd love to see it.  My hat's off to the CUA officials who caused that to be read to Sweeney's face.  I only hope that Cardinal Emeritus McCarrick doesn't see fit to assuage Sweeney's ego with some "honor", as he did when twice we picketed Sweeney in past years.

If that doesn't happen, there's hope!  Perhaps Sweeney can pop over to the "church of earthaluia" and do some duets with Bertha Lewis (see preceding post).  That might be a nice career move for him!
