Covid - One Of The Punishments For The Pachamama Idolatry In The Vatican

Below is a Lepanto Institute podcast, wherein Michael Hichborn and Jim Maughan explain how today's calamities are most likely results, punishments if you will, for the pachamama being brought into the Vatican for idolatrous worship.  They point out how spiritual and societal deterioration have accelerated since the pachamama sacrileges, most notably the corona virus, the abject dereliction of duty on the part of Catholic clergy (more on that later) and the Democratic theft of the US presidential election.

During the covid pandemic, with a few exceptions, the Catholic bishops all over the world - and yes, that includes the pope - have been absolutely derelict in their duties to soldier through these conditions to provide the sacraments to the Catholics in their charge.  Instead, they have shuttered the churches and hidden themselves from their flocks.  Early on I thought that cowardice was the sole motivator behind their actions.  While that may have been partially true, I failed to consider the other key motivator behind many of their misdeeds throughout these past few decades - money.  Taylor Marshall, in this video, details how the US hierarchy collected billions of taxpayers' dollars via the PPP loans and stuffed them in their coffers.  Here is the AP article to which Marshall refers.  Among other things, Marshall points out how this can set a precedent for tax dollars to be diverted to churches, along the lines of Germany.

So here we see another facet of the corruption in the Church, and how it has at least been accelerated by idolatry within the walls of the Vatican.  Besides prayer, we must shine the light of truth on it so at least the perpetrators will have to operate under scrutiny.  Perhaps this is one reason why the pope has recently railed yet again against "fundamentalist" Catholics and the media outlets that they run. Archbishop Vigano is correct in pointing out how this pope directs harsh words against faithful, traditional Catholics while ignoring and even rewarding dissidents.  If he is lashing out so harshly against us, it can only mean that the truth is being heard.

Faithful Catholics Decrying The Hierarchy's Complicity In The Global Reset

In addition to Bishop Schneider, other Catholics have sounded the alarm regarding the de facto apostacy that has been made all too evident in light of today's pandemic.  Indeed, much of the hierarchy - including Pope Francis himself - seems to be in league with those who are using and who probably engineered the pandemic to bring about the reset touted by the World Economic Forum.

Archbishop Vigano released a public letter a few days ago that exposes some common underpinnings behind various happenings in the world and the Church.  He also makes no bones that the Vatican hierarchy, as well as many bishops, are in cahoots with the new world order.  He is quite right in calling the current Vatican structure a "den of thieves" with:

  • the pope's current alliance with Netflix to shill for his new book.  This is the same Netflix that produced "Cuties" by exploiting and sexualizing little girls and produced a "comedy" that pictures Jesus as gay and Our Lady as a pothead.
  • their push for the covid vaccines that use body parts from murdered babies
  • running interference for anti-God political leaders
Rorate Caeli published a letter from a sister who must remain anonymous to protect her community from retaliation.  In it, Sister elaborates on the immorality of the compulsory mask mandates and its other harmful effects.  She rightly points out its dehumanizing effects and its basis in the loss of supernatural faith.

In this LifeSiteNews article, we see an interview with Father Chad Ripperger.  The three men are discussing the legitimacy of the current vaccines (or more accurately, the illegitimacy).  This truly is worth a listen as Father delves into traditional Catholic moral theology in his considerations of the topic.  One point that Father makes is that the use of fetal cells constitutes theft of their bodies.

To be honest, one has to be completely dishonest with him/herself if they don't accept that the election fraud and this covid hype isn't part and parcel of the attempt to get us to forget our dignity as God's children and the blessings that were part of the United States, in order to cajole us into swallowing this great reset.

The Newfangled Corona Vaccines - What's In It For The US Hierarchy?

Much of the world is waiting with bated breath for this much-touted "wonderous" vaccine.  They think that once they inject themselves with this miraculous substance, they will once again be freed from their de facto slave masters to live their lives.  They already can live their lives without the permission of the demagogues, if they just grow some backbones, but that's another discussion.

Pfiser and Moderna are the two leading manufacturers of these magic elixirs.  However, the tiny bodies of murdered babies have been used in the development of these things.  They claim that no fetal cells are actually in the vaccines.  True enough, but, BUT, fetal cells have been used in the testing of these potions.  However you slice it, the bodies of murdered children were used in the development of these things.

That doesn't seem to bother the nation's bishops in the least.  Read this latest disgrace to spew forth from the USCCB.  In a nutshell, they are saying, "yeah, we know that there was use of morally compromised cell lines, but the pandemic is so scary and evil that the remote cooperation with baby slaughter is actually an act of charity".  Pity that the aborted children don't seem to register a blip on their radar screens, but I don't think they have for quite some time.

Something, and I think it's lots of money, is inducing these bishops to poo-poo basic Catholic morality.  What they are doing is known as cooperating with sin, and such cooperation, especially when done knowingly and willingly, is a partaking in the guilt of that sin - in this case, the mortal sin of baby-murder.  The Church defines nine ways in which this cooperation can be effected; here is the list.  Take a look at numbers 1 and 7.  The bishops are counseling the faithful to participate in the ill-gotten fruits of the slaughter of babies.

Archbishop Vigano has some pointed words regarding the vaccine and other matters, pointing to their sinister underpinnings. As you read them, you may wish to bear the video from Friday Dec 18th in mind.  Judie Brown of American Life League also has words of wisdom and warning regarding these vaccines.

On many levels, the ingestion of these vaccines would be foolish and sinful.  The testing on these has been rather haphazard and immoral.  Why would one want to accept such a vaccine that has been hastily and immorally produced?  The disease against which it would allegedly protect has a fatality rate of less than 1%, and even those are found mostly in those with other co-morbidities.  Even more insidious is that the usage of them would justify the procurement of slaughtered babies to produce them.

At one time, I might have been inclined to chalk up the bishops' capitulation to these vaccines as simply a lack of moral courage.  While that may be present to some effect, I must conclude, after so many stunts these fellows have pulled, that they are active participants in the promulgation of the vaccine to help facilitate the new world order and perhaps to gain some financial reward.

Addendum:  Here is an enlightening post from my friend and colleague at Les Femmes.  Like her, I too have looked askance at the complete lack of mention of common-sense measures that we can take to increase our natural immunities.  Vitamin supplements, as she noted, are necessary and readily available.  A general proper diet and adequate sleep are also important.  Why, oh why, do we hear - ad infinitum et ad nauseum - about "masks" and "social distance", but nary a peep regarding these measures? Why does hydroxicloroquine remain a taboo topic of discussion?  Could it be precisely because they are cost-effective?

A Covid Silver Lining - Gay Pride Debaucheries Canceled

in previous posts I have written of some small benefits to the corona shutdown; see here, here, here.  Now in this month of June, we are blessedly aware of another.  June has been the month when sexual deviants have flaunted their various perversities in their so-called "gay pride parades".  They chose June because the warm weather would allow them to engage in all manners of undress as they simulated perverse acts on their parade floats.

This year, many cities will be spared that pollution, thanks to the corona virus.  We see on many of the gay sites that they have canceled their public orgies in fear of the corona virus.  That's rather understandable, given that many of the HIV-positive among them will have compromised immune systems.

We pray that one day these people and their sympathizers (especially those in the Catholic hierarchy) will come to fear God  at least as much as they fear the covid virus.

Red Rose Rescue In Washington DC Thursday May 14 2020

In the eyes of civil government, churches are deemed "non-essential" and are closed by unconstitutional dictatorial fiat.  Meanwhile, the baby-slaughter business is considered "essential".  The babies would take exception, and God certainly does.  Atrocities such as this are some of the reasons why God has allowed this corona scourge to afflict us.  The pro-life activists that you see in this clip (and others like them) stand in the breach as did Moses and Aaron to intercede, to stand in the gap, with their intercessions and works of mercy.

Not only do I encourage you to pray for an end to abortion, but to get yourself in front of the killing centers and be a witness for life.  The time is long past (if ever it existed) when we can sit on the sidelines and pretend that this isn't our problem.  We will all stand before God as He judges us at our death.  How will we answer Him?

HR 6666 - Covid Is New World Order Excuse To Control Us Via Tracing

I will preface this with some warnings, the reasons for which will be clear in the presentation.
  • Do NOT submit to "testing" unless obviously sick with symptoms.
  • Do NOT allow any "tracers" into your home.
  • Do NOT download any tracing apps to your phones.
Now I present the video, with important information following.

The bill to which Weston refers is HR 6666.  Here it is, as posted on Congress' web site.  Below is the text of that bill.  My colleague at Les Femmes posted it too, with pertinent points highlighted, so I'll just borrow her text.

Obviously what should be added to the list above is to tell your representative that you oppose this bill and they should also vote to oppose it.  We should all also contact the House Energy and Commerce Committee for that is where its initial hearings are being conducted.

Why Infringement On Our Civil Rights Is More Deadly Than Corona

A few days ago, Kansas City Mayor Quintin Lucas ordered churches to turn over names and addresses of all those who attended their worship services.  Obviously that is an action that one might expect to find in Red China, but not in the United States.  Many good people thought the same thing too, when this news went viral.  Realizing he was not going to escape public scrutiny, the less-than-illustrious mayor backpedaled his order.  Similarly, we all heard the saga of Shelly Luther, the Dallas hair stylist who was sentenced to 7 days in jail for opening her salon.  It seems that she believed that she and her employees needed to work to feed their families.  Read the account of her trial before an Obama-appointed judge who ordered her to apologize.  She refused.  Governor Abbott ordered her released.  We hope some of that common sense prevails in Michigan, where a homeowner faces 93 days in jail for growing a vegetable garden in her yard.  How on earth a vegetable garden could ever spread any disease is beyond me.  I hope the woman sues.

Recently, US Attorney General Barr announced that it's time to roll back the draconian restrictions that have been placed on US citizens by state and local governments.  He stated quite clearly that "the Bill of Rights doesn't go away during a crisis".  In many ways he echoed the words that US Congressman Andy Harris spoke to us this past Saturday in Salisbury.

Some lawsuits against tin-horn governors, including my own, are in progress.  Tabernacle Baptist Church is suing Kentucky Governor Beshear for closing churches while allowing abortuaries to remain open.  A few days ago, Reopen MD, along with three state delegates, filed suit in the US District Courts to end Hogan's dictatorial escapades.  Embedded in this post is the text of the complaint.

We now read the news that Chicago pastors plan to reopen their churches, regardless of the dictates of the mayor.  Sadly, but not at all suprisingly, no Catholic clerics joined these courageous pastors.  I've outlined in previous posts some of the despicable antics of our prelates, no need to rehash that here.

Other prelates are speaking out.  In an interview, Cardinal Gerhardt Muller flat out said that no bishop has the right to ban public Masses.  Apparantly there have been some silly suggestions regarding the distribution of Holy Communion in plastic baggies.  Cardinal Sarah rebuked that nonsense squarely.

These two cardinals, along with other prelates and leading Catholics, have issued a warning to the world in light of the covid pandemic.  They see clearly that this is being used to insinuate a dangerous, one-world government that is all-encompassing and tyranical, and to destroy western civilization.  They state so quite clearly.  All should read it, especially those good pro-lifers who are all too willing to give our politicians a pass on their encroachments on our civil liberties.  This simplistic, passive stance towards the events of the past two weeks is very dangerous.  I've stated before that we've forgotten who we are as Catholics and as US citizens.

The various protests give hopeful signs that some are starting to wake up.  What faithful Catholics need to do is understand that many of our prelates are in cahoots in the attempt to establish this one world government, about which Cardinals Zen, Muller and others warn.  There is much more to world events than meets the eye.  We must pray to have our eyes opened and to have the courage and vision to do what needs to be done.

Dowload These Movies NOW!!

Today Hogan has eased somewhat our de facto house arrests.  Well, that's nice but is by no means satisfactory.  Evidence exists that this corona scare may well have deliberate and sinister origins.  Whether or not Hogan is in on this, or just sees this as a way to advance political ambitions, I've no way of knowing.  At the very least, he and a lot of others are being manipulated.  Please download these before they "disappear".  I've already done so.  We need to stop our unquestioning acceptance of the slop that mainstream media hurls in our direction.  Let's learn to think and to connect some dots here.

UPDATE - the video above is my second attempt to present Dr Judy Mikovits.  Youtube did indeed pull it.  I see some sources that take exception to what she says, but so far I've seen no reasons put forth, except disapproval of her taking on Fauci.  Courtesy of z3news, here it is.

The Ten Corona Commandments

As you read the post below, please note that I'm not discounting the reality of Covid-19.  However, the servile fear in which so many people are living (and demanding that we share their trepidation), needs to be rebuked sternly.  Here goes...

HEAR YE, HEAR YE!  GIVE UNQUESTIONING EAR AND SERVILE OBEISANCE, YE PEASANTS AND GREAT UNWASHED!  THE NEW WORLD ORDER DE FACTO DEITIES HAVE GRACED US WITH THEIR BENEVOLENT COMMANDS!  OBEY OR BE PUNISHED!

Most of our bishops keep these diligently.  The real Ten Commandments and canon law?  Not so much!

It's Time That We Stopped Playing The Wimps In The Face Of The Corona Boondoggle

Yesterday good citizens of the state of Michigan descended upon Detroit to make clear to Governor Whitmer that her draconian constrictions upon them will no longer be tolerated.  They called their protest "operation gridlock".  I for one was delighted to see that and pray that we may all emulate their example if our local tyrants don't wake up and smell the coffee.  Many of these same citizens are now taking her to court and I hope they prevail.  If they do, a precedent will be set that we will use.

Frankly, though, I'm not sure what troubles me more: the power-hungry grabs of the governors, OR, the gutless and passive acceptance of these dictates by so many Americans and even Catholics.  I have had numerous discussions both in person and online with faithful Catholics who have regrettably swallowed the "safety-first" koolaid.  When I mention that the founding fathers who wrote the US Constitution wisely allowed for no exceptions to the First Amendment, they poo-poo it. Their excuses:
  • "They didn't know how pandemics worked".  I doubt it.  They may not have had the full range of knowledge that is available today, but they had a basic understanding of how certain diseases spread.  Still they did not consider that reason to violate civil rights.
  • "They did that during the 1918 Spanish flu epidemic".  That is one that will require more unpacking.
They acknowledge the status of the First Amendment as a guiding principle, to their credit.  They then claim that sometimes that principle needs to take a lesser place for "safety".  Well, here's a problem.  When we break principles to satisfy some real or perceived need, one cannot invoke that same principle when some other threat emerges, one that might have been prevented had the principle remained intact.  Why cannot we not invoke that principle?  Because we have already allowed for the breaking of the principle for safety, so why cannot someone break it for another reason?

In light of that, consider the "Spanish flu" excuse.  It's quite likely that the US government, in 1918, did play fast and loose with the First Amendment.  They violated it.  In using that sad episode to justify the abrogation of our First Amendment rights today, very imprudent people are actually demonstrating the harm done by that violation of the First Amendment 100 years ago.

Truth be told, though, I think many Americans don't understand their own history.  When I've mentioned "First Amendment", some of them scoffed and asked how my freedom of speech was being abridged.  They didn't know that freedom of speech is not the only civil right addressed in the First Amendment.  Under attack now are two other First Amendment rights: freedom of religioin and freedom of assembly.  If they went to public school, their study of American history was devoid of any study of the founding documents and why they were written.  It is up to us to fill in the gaps of knowledge ourselves.

Similar deficiencies exist in the formation of Catholics, and the events of the last few weeks have made that quite clear.  In one facebook discussion, one misguided individual stated that Jesus was just as concerned for the body as He was for the soul.  Well, not quite.  While caring for the the whole man, Jesus clearly placed greater priority on matters of eternal salvation than He did on temporal affairs.  Many though, especially those in the Church hierarchy, have no supernatural faith and truly don't believe in the afterlife.  Therefore it really is no wonder that their sole focus is on maintaining physical safety, or at least an illusion of it.  They don't value the efficacy of Holy Mass or the other Sacraments, so they see it as no tragedy to restrict our access to God's graces.

Then there exists the fairytale about "virtual Masses".  First, a clarifying note.  The parish priests who are producing these virtual Masses are by far simply doing the best they can under the constraints under which they must operate.  I've no doubt that they are hurting that they cannot make the sacraments more available to their parishioners.  However, they are vowed to obey their bishops, and it is the bishops who are the source of these draconian and I daresay sinful restrictions.  In Maryland, Hogan never completely forbade religious services.  It is possible to hold Mass, albeit in much more constricted manners.  Therefore no excuse existed to completely shut the Churches.  And why did Lori stop all confessions, while confessions continue in the south part of MD that is in the DC diocese?

But let's get back to the general populace.  Since when did US citizens become a nation of pantywaists?  Government officials, flouting the constitution, order citizens to abandon their rights and their lives out of craven fear of some virus.  Instead of standing up to these thugs like men, too many cower before them and meekly go along with the tyranny.  Besides ignorance of both our Faith and US history, are there other root causes to the timidity of so many?  Perhaps.

Many of us have been spoiled by living off the fruits of the struggles of our forefathers.  We have become used to lives of relative ease and comfort.  We never had to face dire situations that forced us to develop spiritual fortitude and moral courage.  Therefore, when faced with evil, we fold like a deck of cards, roll over and play dead.  For the past few decades I have seen this play out as I have pleaded with fellow Catholics to join us in front of abortuaries.  They refuse to step out of their comfort zones, believing that they aren't obliged to take any moral stand that might cost them something.  Now faced with corona tyrants who promise them that all will be normal in a few weeks (and now the deadlines are ever-moving), they choose to blind themselves and hunker down for what they think will be temporary degradation - as long as they don't have to display courage and stand up to evil.

But now lives are being ruined as good people are watching their livlihoods needlessly wither away.  How much longer are the willfully blind sheeple going to stand with eyes shut and ears plugged?  We had better snap out of our torpitude before it's too late.  People in Michigan have started to act.  Tomorrow in Maryland there will be a similar protest in Annapolis and I will be there along with (hopefully) thousands others.  People in PA and other places plan protests within the next week or two.

Of course we as Catholics must be in prayer for our nation.  We certainly pray for those who are suffering from covid-19.  But make no mistake - this corona thing is a mere pretext for the undermining of the United States Constitution and of Trump's presidency.  It is time to wake up and to get off our duffs and act.

Welcome To Our New Orwellian World - UPDATED

Benjamin Franklin is quoted as saying, "those who surrender essential liberties to attain a little temporary safety deserve neither and will lose both".  How his words are ringing true as many American citizens are literally clamoring for martial law, believing that will keep them safe from the covid-19 virus.  Those who do so disgrace the generations of Americans who literally died to secure the freedoms that we so dismissively squander today.  Yes, we need to take reasonable measures - wash hands, stay home if we are sick or vulnerable, but to shut down our churches and our country?  For shame!

Quite a few of us see the dangers of undermining our constitution and are raising alarms.  For our efforts we are decried as "selfish" and even "murderers" by the hysterical snowflakes who are begging Big Brother Government to step in.  Unfortunately it is.  To wit:
  • Virginia governor Northam issued an executive order stating that those engaging in public or private gatherings of more than 10 can go to jail for a year.
  • In Greenville, MS, police raided a "drive-in" service at Temple Baptist Church and issued $500 tickets to everyone in attendance.
  • In San Diego, some people went to the beach to watch the sunset.  They were ticketed for $1k each.
  • In Louisville KY, a snowflake doctor got enraged at the sight of girls "not practicing social distancing" and physically attacked them, actually strangling one of them (she only has minor injuries).  Fortunately he was arrested.  All the police had to say is that it wasn't advisable for people to take matters into their own hands; rather they should simply play snitches.  Perhaps while this doctor is in jail, someone should remind him that putting his hands on people's necks is not "proper social distancing".  Josef Mengele would have admired him.
  • In Pennsylvania, a woman was pulled over and fined $200 just for driving her car. Fortunately the local DA threw out the citation.
  • In Colorado, a former state trooper was in a public park with his family in compliance with posted regulations.  A swarm of police officers came up to him, demanded his id.  When he refused, they threatened to "put you in handcuffs in front of your 6-year old daughter".  That they did and put him in a cruiser.  Fortuantely a local city councilperson caught the whole thing on video.  The police department apologized.  The man is considering legal action and I hope he follows through.
  • Not to be outdone is my own home state, the People's Republic of Maryland. 14 arrests, 600+ citations.  Look at that chart.  Private homes?  What are they doing? Bashing in the doors?
  • In Baltimore, where 10 people can congregate, police shut down a church service of 10 people. It took 8 cops to do it.
  • And then there's this little gem that you see to the right, that someone found on their car.  Note that buzz-word "selfish", in keeping with the group-think mentality.
It gets worse.  Now local officials are encouraging and even paying citizens to spy on each other.  The Chi-Coms have nothing on us now.
  • New York City set up a website to facilitate citizen-snitching.
  • The Los Angeles mayor announced that "snitches get rewards".  What's the price?  Thirty pieces of silver?
  • Bellevue, WA has gone high-tech with its snitching, offering an app to do so.
  • By the way, in all these Democrat-run areas where snitching is occurring, guess what the powers-that-be hold sacrosanct?  Abortion!
I won't even address the progressive dupes who are just salivating over the obvious socialistic thrust of all this, but rather, faithful Catholics.  By your short-sighted excusing and even support of encroachment on your First Amendment rights, you have paved the way for the list that I just provided.  Be assured that this list will grow.  Please wake up!

Background Story Of The Pachamama Dunking And Some Bizarre Catholic Reactions

Recall several months ago how the pachamama idols were worshipped in the Vatican, in full sight of the pope.  This happened not once but several times.  It even happened at the closing Mass of the synod, when Pope Francis accepted a pachamama plant and placed it on the altar.

We of course were delighted when the pachamama filth was tossed into the Tiber.  Some time later, one of the two dunkers came forward - Alexander Tschugguel of Austria.  He has since told his story and shared his traditional Catholic faith with many.  Recently he was in the news as one who suffered the covid-19 virus and who came out of it.

A few days ago, in an interview with Taylor Marshall, the two men discussed these events.  In the course of the conversation, they revealed Marshall's role in the pachamama dunking, as one who financed Tschugguel's air fare back and forth between Rome and Vienna.

Perhaps covid-19 has infected some Catholic brains, but I learned of this largely through some Catholics who took umbrage at Marshall's role in the deed, implying that he was merely playing the publicity hound throughout the matter.  They even cast those aspersions on Tschugguel himself, going so far as to say he faked his corona affliction for publicity.

My first reaction to reading the details of the incident was, "so what?"  How did that garner such vituperation?  I have some questions for these detractors:
  • How do they think that Tschugguel flew back and forth between the two cities?  Do they think he and his friend just levitated through the air, or maybe bilocated as some mystics throughout the centuries did?  News flash!  Air fare costs money!  Marshall put up his own funds.  How dare some impugn Marshall's motives for so doing?  If you don't think he deserves some respect for so doing, well, that's on you.  However, by what stretch of logic do you villify him for his actions?
  • I detect just a slight note of shame underlying the wags and naysayers for their own cowardice and lack of initiative.  It's all too easy to say that those who do get off their butts to do something are not acting in good faith, for somehow that makes their own torpidity not look so bad.  To be honest, I've been on the receiving end of such nonsense myself.
I'm not inclined to link to the prattlings of these malcontents right now, for I don't want to increase their hit counts.  I might have to do that in the future, if this problem persists.  I remind such individuals that contumely and calumny are sins.

Meanwhile, I will now post the interview below.  The discussion of the pachamama incident begins at the 1:06:00 mark.  They also remind us of that meeting scheduled for May at the 1:13:40 mark.  I do hope that the corona situation causes that planned debacle to at least be postponed, as it has for so many other filthy events in Baltimore (see here and here).

Too Good To Be True

My post from Tuesday, regarding the closing of Maryland abortuaries, was based on information that has now been shown to be faulty.  Of course we expected more violations than compliance, but I was rejoicing that Maryland might have banned abortions officially.   Such is not to be.  Maryland can shutter churches, close legitimate businesses, but still let the blood of innocent children flow.  It is for sins such as this that our world is undergoing the punishment from God that is now our common experience.

Several other states, though, have banned abortions as "non-essential procedures".  I hope more states are added to that list before this cornona curse is lifted.

Corona - Cover For Deconstruction Of The Faith

Let's be blunt, shall we?  This corona situation is making plain that some prelates hold the Faith and eternal salvation as cheap commodities, if they believe at all.

Let's examine the latest nonsense to come from Cardinal Blaise Cupich of Chicago.  Recently he stated that baptisms must be postponed and that emergency baptisms would require his approval to be done.  Ponder the idiocy of that statement.  The word "emergency" in the context of a baptism would mean that there is imminent danger of death, most likely that of an infant.  In that case, hours and even minutes count.  How much time would be wasted to secure his approval?  By that time, the one to be baptized would be dead, forever locked in orignal sin and thus not to be admitted to the Beatific Vision.

Do you consider my use of the word "idocy" to be harsh?  In reality, that is mild, for it could more accurately be called "cold-hearted indifference" or even "malice".  Of course I don't presume to know his current spiritual state so we'll just stick with the more objective term "idiocy". I might point out this is just the latest episode that demonstrates Cupich's cavalier treatment of the Faith.

Then there's the Sacrament of Confession.  I noted with happiness that some pastors, mindful of their sacerdotal responsibilities, have instituted "drive-through" confessions as a means to administer the sacrament while satifying the draconian secular directives.  But some bishops aren't satisfied.  Thinking more like lawyers and insurance agents, they are putting the kibosh on even that.  I speak of Cardinal Tobin of Newark.  At least he allows it in the case of "extreme emergency".  I've written quite a bit about Tobin in the past.

Now let's look at these two instances.  One involves Baptism, the other Confession.  These two sacraments are known as "sacraments of the dead".  That is, they are the only two sacraments that those not in a state of sanctifying grace may receive.  Reception of these is necessary not only to allow the recipient to receive the other sacraments, and more crucially, allow for entrance into heaven.  Without being in a state of sanctifying grace, in God's ordinary providence that isn't possible, unless an act of perfect contrition can occur.  Do we see how insidious this is?  Do we see how the devil is chuckling with glee over these derelictions?  Of course it's quite likely that the devil himself motivated these prelates to issue their unconscionable pronouncements.

Oh, but there's more.  Bishop James Checchio of the Diocese of Metuchen NJ pities us poor suffering Catholics!  He thinks we are already suffering so much that he is suggesting that Catholics slack off with their Lenten exercises.  He has said that Catholics may now eat meat in Lenten Fridays.  I think it's worth noting that the Diocese of Metuchen is a suffragan diocese of Newark.  In other words, the aforementioned Cardinal Tobin is Checchio's boss.  In times like these, don't we need more prayer, fasting and almsgiving?

So here we have it.  Progressive prelates are doing all they can to choke off God's graces to His Church and thus to the world.  Is it at all possible that this had been their dream all along, and that the covid-19 situation simply provided an excuse for them to plausibly do so?

Maryland Abortuaries Ordered Closed

Well, again the COVID-19 virus brought about some unexpected but welcome blessing.  Today we discovered that when Governor Hogan talked of shuttering "non-essential businesses", that meant abortion mills as well.  See the attached LifeNews article, with jpgs of the official correspondence.  Approximately 97 babies every day in Maryland would agree that baby-slaughter is non-essential.

Now the question is, will the mills comply?  As I browse some of the websites, I see that most don't even mention "corona" or "covid-19".  What?  Don't they care about women's health?  What would they do about "social distancing" in their waiting rooms?  Front-liners, let's be cautiously hopeful.  We need to verify compliance at the very least, and keep track of violations.  We will have more on this matter.  Whether or not there is compliance, this pronouncement is a big "first", for I don't recall ever, in my nearly 30 years of activism, abortion being officially kiboshed in Maryland.  Let us keep praying.

No Bishop Can Abrogate Our Canonical Right To The Sacraments

I continue to be aghast at otherwise faithful Catholics who are falling lock-step behind  the government's unconstitutional ban on large gatherings.  The First Amendment guarantees, among other things, Freedom of Religion and Freedom of Assembly.   I won't rehash last week's piece on this; read it here.

I commend the priests who are "working around" the draconian actions of their bishops, with many of those actions surpassing those of civil authority in jack-booted tyranny and in utter disregard of their sacerdotal mandates.  Several pastors are conducting "drive-through" confessions in their parking lots.  Others are exposing the Blessed Sacrament in the churches so that He can be seen and adored from the outside.  Other non-Roman rites are still conducting Mass, or Divine Liturgy to use their terminology.

But again, the mental contortions that some Catholics use to justify their "go along to get along" attitudes is a sight to behold.  More than a few are claiming that Catholics in a state of grace do not have the right to receive the Sacraments.  To which I will now reply, "AT CANON LAW, THEY CERTAINLY DO HAVE SUCH RIGHTS".  Canon 213 expressly states that truth.

Many times we have cited Canon 915, detailing that Catholics "persevering in manifest, grave sin" are not to be admitted to Communion.  However, examine Canons 912 - 923.  I foresee one attempt at silliness now and will quash it immediately.  Canon 912 states that "any baptized person not prohibited by law can and must be admitted to Holy Communion."  "Law" in this context means church law, not civil; else we would have to conclude that Chinese Catholics cannot receive Holy Communion.

Now are the bishops actually barring us from Mass?  Well, they are actually quite clever about that.  At Canon Law, they cannot do that.  They are closing Churches and exhorting us to remain at home and maybe watch a live-stream of Mass.  In some discussions where I've broached the idea of going outside my diocese for Mass, I am told that I am "being disobedient".  No I am not.  I have the canonical right to go to Mass.  Moreover, the bishops never ordered us outright not to go to Mass.  They cannot, and they know it.  They simply put out some sly suggestions and hope that Catholics will believe that they are forbidden to attend.  Indeed, some naively take the suggestion and run with it, probably not stopping to actually think about the matter.

Let's look at Confession through the prism of Canon Law, beginning with Canon 960.  That canon states that grave sin can only be remitted via the Sacrament of Confession, excepted only by "physical or moral impossibility".  NEWS FLASH!  The equivocating cowardice of bishops, by which they so cavalierly close their confessionals, does NOT constitute those kinds of impossibilities.  God bless the priests mentioned above who have devised ways to work around their prelates' irresponsible directives.  Canon 986 is quite explicit about the duty of priests to make themselves available for confession, particularly when the penitent is in danger of death.

So my fellow Catholics, hold your bishops' feet to the fire.  Go outside your diocese to receive the Sacraments, if you must.  Remember that your first duty before God is your own and your families' salvation.  Physical health, good as it is, takes lesser priority to salvation.

A Church Without Sacraments Is A Worse Nightmare Than Any Virus

Thus says Dr. Paolo Gulisano, renowned Italian epidemiologist, in an interview given to Church Militant TV.   He is quite correct in describing this situation as a "fatal rupture" with the Church's history of standing fast in the face of plagues, wars, earthquakes, etc.  He also made plain that no more can the pope utilize his "church is a field hospital" routine.

I am writing this after having just learned that my parish will not be offering the Sacrament of Confession "until further notice".  This notice was given after one of the priests felt unwell and got tested for the covid-19 virus.  His test results aren't in yet.  Certainly we pray that the results are negative and for Father's health in general.

But what about the spiritual health of Catholics in the area?  Just what might happen of that one Catholic who's been away from the Sacraments for years, and is now just mustering up what little faith and courage he/she has left to get right with God?  Just being away from the Sacraments for years is its own mortal sin, and there are likely others, given that such a soul has had little if any spiritual sustenance.  Now he/she cannot go to Confession at my Church, and at too many others.  Remember - one mortal sin, if unconfessed, will damn a soul to hell for eternity.  If that person makes a Perfect Act of Contrition, he/she might be able to save his/her soul.  However, given the shoddy formation that many Catholics have received of late, that is one tenuous "IF".  If he/she sees that Catholic priests are afraid of their company, will they be so understandably scandalized that they might never return?

In the Old Testament, we read Ezekiel 3:16-21 has plenty to say about those appointed by God to lead to salvation - and their punishment should they refuse to do so.  Consider the disgraceful state of affairs of the US church right now.  All of the US dioceses have canceled public Masses.  In addition to the denial of Confession, many (not all, at least at the time of this writing) are not offering Last Rights nor are they baptizing babies.  Here you have people in their final agonies being deserted by their Church.  Frankly, I cannot see how such dereliction of duty isn't its own mortal sin.  If so, how can a bishop's order to do that be binding under obedience?  Then there are the babies.  Let's get real on that.  Pope John Paul II voiced the hope that there might be a way that unbaptized babies might be admitted to heaven.  However, that is only a hope, not a certitude.  We dare not presume that a child, deprived of baptism, will be admitted to the Beatific Vision.  There is one glimmer of hope, and parents, take note.  In dire straits, any lay person can baptize another.  Must it come to that?

Too many clergy are losing sight of their sacerdotal duties in the face of physical disease.  They value physical health over spiritual health.  I fear that if they persist, they'll literally have hell to pay.  Pray for our church and her priests.

A Silver Lining In The Corona Cloud

Last month I wrote of a retreat for gay priests scheduled for April 14-16 at the Bon Secours Retreat Center in Marriottsville, MD.  It was to be led by Father Peter Daly and was supported by Father James Martin - two perversion promoters if ever they existed.  The days were Tuesday to Thursday. Let's be honest.  We know what kind of, "sessions" would have been occurring on Tues and Wed evenings.

We tried to petition Archbishop Lori to take action against this raunch-fest, but he refused to utter a peep.  However, blessings can come from calamities.  From the website of Bon Secours we see that the CDC shut them down until May 10.  Moreover, if you go to my first post and click on the "scheduled retreat" link, you will notice that New Ways broke the link.  We can conclude that the retreat will not happen in April.

I suspect they will try to reschedule the thing.  We will alert you when we learn something.  Plans may be in the making to ask Archbishop Lori to exercise his authority with the Bon Secours staff and forestall any attempt to reschedule it.

Mother Miriam - Bishops, Bring Back The Mass

She says it well.
