Unabashed Blasphemy From Fr Thomas Reese

The latest screed was found in a November 26th editorial found online at the Not-at-all Reporter.  In his shilling for lay participation for selecting bishops, he plopped this stinker: "even Jesus got it wrong one out of 12 times."  No doubt Reese was referring to Judas Iscariot, but Our Lord knew what would happen.

The very notion that the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity, who is God Incarnate, would "get it wrong" is inherently blasphemous, as God does not fail.  He is omnipotent and perfect.  But such are the standards (or lack thereof) of both the Not-At-All Catholic Reporter and the Jesuit order.  When Pope Benedict XVI first ascend to the papacy, one of his first acts was to remove Reese from his post as editor of America magazine, the Jesuit rag that was just as heretical as the Reporter.  It still is, of course.

Two Acts Of Blasphemy In Baltimore

PROFANITY ALERT

This morning, as I walked into Mass, a note was in the vestibule for general distribution.  It is quite self-explanatory, as you can see.  Father took the necessary remedial steps.  He notified all appropriate authorities and took care, via blessings, to repel any spiritual malevolence that were most likely attached to this act.

As I read the note, I could not help but consider that this vandalism happened immediately after news broke of the FBI and their targeting of Traditional Catholics.  The Fraternity of St Peter offers the Traditional Latin Mass, and the other Sacraments in the Tridentine rite.  I simply am not stupid enough to believe that it's just a coincidence that these two acts of persecution occurred so closely to each other.

I can understand why the good priests would not have wanted to cause scandal to young children by repeating the contents of the graffiti. Moreover, it would have been most unbecoming to utter the profanities before Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.

However, the world at large simply needs to understand the extent of hatred there is for the One True Church.  After Mass, I went around back and captured just what was on the back wall.  I regret the crude profanities, but they are what they are, and we must face it.

Now let me post something that relates to yesterday's post.  It too is blasphemy.

This is workshop number 12 from the Archdiocese of Baltimore gabfest.  Note that there are nine ways in which we can cooperate with the sin of others and thus be culpable of sin ourselves.  In that "workshop" description, we see that attendees will be cajoled into praising and giving consent to sexual perversions.  They will be defending the sin and might even provoke others to the same actions.  In that this is being promoted on an archdiocesan website, ostensibly in the name of the Church and thus God, we have blasphemy.  God can never condone such sin, and these Church representatives blaspheme when they pretend that He will.

I contend that this blasphemy is worse than the graffiti on the wall.  Those who chalked that graffiti did not hold themselves to be Christian.  They seem to be supremely uncatechized and ignorant of the Faith.  Those of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, though, have been (somewhat) taught and possibly ordained.  They must have their feet held to the fire - and we must do it.

Beware The Chosen

When I first heard of the series called "The Chosen" and saw some trailers, some red flags flew.  The character of "Jesus" seemed to be a bit too familiar with the other characters, so I never troubled myself to watch it.  After reviewed the video below, I am grateful to God for sparing me that.

Now I know that there are those who say that the series can't be judged on those few questionable clips.  However, does anyone gainsay the points made in the video below about the problems with "The Chosen"?

Let me illustrate it with an example that I used before.  Say that someone sets before you a tasty, healthy, meal.  That meal has just one little problem.  A malefactor put into it a few drops of cyanide.  However, the rest of the meal is very beneficial and healthy in and of itself.  Would you take one bite of it?  Neither would I.

Satan is sly when he wants to introduce error.  He doesn't present it to us in a garish, ugly manner.  He allows it to come to us along with trappings that may well be holy in and of themselves.  But it's only that one or two drops of poison that render the whole package deadly.

News Flash! Blasphemy Is No Joke!

Social media has its uses and benefits.  The left discovered that back in 2008 as they utilized it to help elect Barack Obama.  Admittedly good Christian people were simply outclassed in the use of electronic resources.  One of the features of this electronic means of communications is the ability to communicate to others while obfuscating one's own identity.  However, such anonymity means reduced accountability, leading some to believe that they can let loose with their less-than-noble impulses.  One might expect leftwing atheists to wallow in that swill, and they do.  Sadly, some who profess to be Christian have also succumbed to such temptations.

There are sites devoted to Christian (?) humor.  While for the most part the jokes and memes are decent enough, there are troubling instances where they cross unacceptable lines.  The comments on these posts are also quite disappointing.  A few of us have attempted to remind others of proper Christian morality and decorum only to be mocked as having no "sense of humor".  I will post some examples, apologizing in advance for the regrettable nature of these, but if we want to see some reasons why we are not proceeding in the fight for Christian culture, we must be prepared to see what some in our midst consider to be acceptable behavior.

This gem to the left is taken from a site called "Casual Christian Comedy 2".  Sometimes with this group more emphasis is placed on the "casual" as opposed to "Christian".

Faithful Catholics will see the problem with this immediately, as this flies in the face of the Dogma of the Immaculate Conception.  Our Lady, from the moment of her conception, was free from original sin and its effects.  However, we see here that she is portrayed as harboring a grudge and being disrespectful to her husband.  Moreover, there are well-founded traditions that Joseph, while not being immaculately conceived, was sanctified in the womb of his mother and remained free of all actual sin during his life.  Is this how the parents of Jesus, whom He Himself honored, should be portrayed?  To their credit, several non-Catholics also took issue with this meme.

Catholics are by no means guiltless when it comes to these memes.  This questionable sampling is taken from a page called "Catholic memes".  Whereas the meme above blasphemed Mary and Joseph, here we have God the Father being blasphemed.  He is being portrayed as pulling a prank on Abraham and is likened to some voyeuristic photographer skulking in bushes.

Anyone who has read that passage in Genesis understands that the episode was to cement in Abraham's mind the priority of God in his life and to prefigure the Father's sacrifice of His Sone for the salvation of humanity.  Some pointed out on the comment section that it posed also an antidote to the notion of human sacrifice prevalent at the time.

Instead, though, the meme blasphemed God the Father by portraying Him as a childish and somewhat sadistic prankster who was simply using Abraham and Isaac for some sick jollies.  The angel being portrayed as using "dude talk" (for lack of better term) is an additional affront to the dignity of the angels.

An aside: I cannot imagine Catholics who attend the Traditional Latin Mass would ever snigger at either of these memes.  Those who don't take seriously God's teachings on life, the Real Presence, marriage, etc would be more likely to fall sway to these blasphemous memes.

Another aside: A constant "talking point" against our objections is that "God has a sense of humor".  He does.  But these memes simply do not conform to a proper sense of humor.  Blasphemy is a sin against God's dignity, against the Second Commandment.  How can we not take Him seriously and yet expect to bring the culture back to Him?

Blasphemous Pictures On Doors Of Our Lady Of Lourdes In Bethesda - With An Important Correction

This past Saturday I attended Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes in Bethesda and saw this picture on several of the entrances.

It is not my purpose in this post to discuss the inherent merits or demerits of masks (for another post).  In fact, I will uphold the private property rights of owners and/or custodians to determine what attire must be worn to gain admittance to the premises.  Indeed, it would be a delightful thing if pastors insisted upon a modicum of decency in attire - for both men and women - as people approach Our Lord.

The issue is this.  Jesus, as a Person, is Divine.  He always has been.  He has two natures, but is Divine.  It is blasphemy to depict Him as one who can get sick and/or spread disease, and that is precisely what this picture is doing.  It is not cute, it is not humorous, it is not harmless.  Fifty years ago, no sane person would dare have been so flippant with His image.  The same thing holds with pictures of Our Lady.  We are seeing her similarly mocked.  Recall that she was conceived without original sin and its effects.  Pictures of her masked fly in the face of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception.

I do not mean to impugn the motives of the parish staff.  I've been told they simply wanted to introduce "lightness" in the face of the pandemic situation.  Be the motives ever so benign, they don't mitigate the damage done by the blasphemy.  What heresy does this communicate to children and to those poorly catechized?

From what I'm hearing, Lourdes is not the only parish so blighted.  These pictures, and pictures of a masked Blessed Mother, are being found in several parishes.  Truth be told, I don't see that much difference between these masked pictures and some of the vandalism that is running rampant.  The motives might be different, but the outcomes are still the same.- defaced and mutilated images of Our Lord and Our Lady.

CORRECTION - There is at least one other crucial difference between the vandalism and this blasphemy.  Many of the vandals profess no religion at all.  I think we can safely assume that none of them are ordained priests.  The blasphemy at Lourdes is being committed by an ordained priest of the Roman Catholic Church.  As such, he is an "alter Christus".  More's the disgrace - and possibly sacrilege against the Sacrament of Holy Orders.

Here is contact information for Our Lady of Lourdes.  Please email Father Walsh, being both respectful and direct.  Tell him that there are other ways to properly communicate the masking policies of the parish without joining Antifa and Black Lives Matter in disrespecting Our Lord.

A Closer Look At The Met Gala Debacle

Two days ago, when I wrote about the Met-Gala sacrilege that relegated Catholics (once again) to the status of "niggers of the new age", I linked to a New York Post article.  It didn't dawn on me at the time but now I cannot help but notice how much Dolan seemed to carry on about feeding his face with hot dogs and peanut butter sandwiches.  It's apparent that he loves to chow down - more so than perhaps his Faith and his office as Prince of the Church.

He also loves to make a fool of himself, and by dint of his office, fools of his fellow Catholics and even Jesus Christ Himself.  Of course he had assistance in that from the Vatican, as they lent Catholic artifacts to the gala to be objects of mockery.

Father Peter West posted on Facebook some of the real damage that Dolan did at that gala.  I cannot find that post on Father's wall, but Eponymous Flower saved a screen shot.  I'm going to post a Vortex in which Michael Voris touches upon the roles that Cardinal Ravasi (this one!) and Archbishop Ganswein (designated by the pope to make sure the Pope Emeritus stays quiet?) had in engineering the gala-debacle.

By the way, Bishop Robert Barron seems to have trouble seeing the blasphemies and sacrileges for what they were that evening.  Of course, this is the prelate who entertains the delusions that hell may be empty.

Piers Morgan Trumps Cardinal Dolan In Decency And Common Sense

And that title doesn't say a whole lot.  That's not to slight Morgan, but to point out that just about anybody with a scintilla of common sense and decency will outshine Dolan.

I never heard of the Met Gala before the one that happened a few days ago.  Apparently it's quite a hoity-toity fashion show where all the wealthy folks and entertainers and all other sorts of glitterati wear expensive clothing along some given theme and rub elbows with each other.  Usually the women came dressed in rather provocative attire, like "ladies of the evening", if you get the drift.  This year someone came up with the bright idea of making the attire "catholic-themed".  So many of them came in attire that was unabashedly blasphemous.

Dolan was yokking it up with the blasphemers, (keeping with behavioral patterns of the past) complaining more about the quantity of food rather than the disrespect and bigotry being heaped upon his Faith.  From the New York Post I quote, "Dolan cracked to fellow guests that he was the only one who didn’t have to go out and buy his duds for the evening — though organizers were disappointed he didn’t accessorize more."  Well why didn't he "accessorize more"?  Did he forget about his signature head-gear (to the right)?

But Dolan probably has reasons, I'm sure - and I do mean rea$on$!  What does sacerdotal dignity and duty mean when beaucoup d'argent (French for "plenty of money") is to be had?

Piers Morgan wrote a very lucid article in the Daily Mail, pointing out the anti-Catholic bigotry on display at this Met-Gala thing.  He rightly pointed out that those blaspheming the One True Faith wouldn't dream of doing that to the Muslim or Jewish religion.

He also pointed out how bizarre it was that the Vatican gave its permission for Catholic accouterments to be featured at this sort of event.  He asked, "what the hell was the Vatican thinking?"  Faithful Catholics also ask that question, and have been asking that question quite frequently since Francis ascended to the papal throne.

Again, faithful Catholics are being treated as "niggers of the new age".  Among the bigots treating them as such are their own traitorous bishops.

The Holy Spirit Is...WHAT???

Yesterday at a meeting conducted by the Congregation for the Institutes of Consecrated Life, Pope Francis said that "the Holy Spirit is a disaster because He never tires of being creative."

My dear friends who insist on trying to defend the indefensible utterances of this Pope, don't try this time.  It truly would be both intellectually and spiritually dishonest of you to even engage on such logical gymnastics.  Think about it.  The Third Person of the Blessed Trinity is God.  The Vicar of Christ said that "God is a disaster".   Did he mean to say that?  I don't know and more importantly it doesn't matter what he meant.  The fact is that he said it.  Can you point to any other pontiff who let that kind of blasphemy come out of his mouth?

Later he extols the benefits of "discernment".  I'd agree that discernment is most beneficial.  He should try it sometime.

A New Name For The Pontifical Academy For Life

Let's call it by something more accurate.  How about "Pontifical Acrimony Against Life"?  I believe that describes the mindsets of those who now infest that once-useful organization.  See these posts for more background: this, this, this, this.

Now we see that a Jewish rabbi who sits on that council has claimed that Scripture allows for abortion in the cases of:
  • Life of mother being endangered
  • Anencephaly or other poor fetal diagnosis
  • Rape
Why, oh why, is a Jewish rabbi sitting on a council that is intended to inform Catholic thought?  What are his "stellar" qualifications?  Absolutely none, as he has made clear.

He has committed blasphemy by insinuating that God's word permits murder.  Given the make-up of this pontificate, it is safe to assume that Rabbi Szlajen will retain the council seat that should never have been given to him.  How on earth can fidelity to Catholic teaching be expected from someone who does not accept the fullness of Catholic faith and doctrine?  The linked article briefly touches upon the pro-death leanings of other members of the newly-warped Academy.  Their teachings are false and are spiritually poisonous.

We must now be wary of anything that proceeds from the Vatican while continuing to pray and speak out for Jesus Christ and His Teachings.

Did The Pope Blaspheme During Yesterday's Homily?

When I wrote yesterday about the Pope's homily and mentioned the banana-peel quip, I completely overlooked the real horror of what he said.  I thank other bloggers, namely "That The Bones You Have Crushed May Thrill", for opening my eyes.  I said then that I failed to see how a banana peel would be linked to someone realizing they were a sinner; now I realize that the banana peel was used as a metaphor for temptation to sin.

Here's the original quote: "But Lord, throw a banana peel in front of them, so that they will take a good fall, and feel shame that they are sinners, and so encounter You, [and realize] that You are the Saviour. Many times a sin will make us feel shame, and make us encounter the Lord, Who pardons us, as the sick who were there and went to the Lord for healing."

Leaving aside the obvious lack of charity and respect that the pope exhibits towards faithful, devout, pious Catholics, let's consider some other fundamental points:
  • Our Lord may allow us to sin, because we have free will and He honors that which He gave to us.
  • Our Lord also allows us to sin, but He will never directly will us to sin for (this is important!) He cannot directly will evil to occur.  It is against His perfect, sinless nature to do so.
  • Our Lord will never tempt us to sin.  If a person deliberately tempts one to sin (throwing the proverbial banana peel) that action would itself be sin - probably mortal, for its deliberation and malice towards the one being tempted.
  • The pope alleges a final purpose in causing the banana-peel target to "encounter the Lord", but as he should well know, the ends never justifies an inherently immoral means.  To deliberately tempt someone to sin is always immoral.
  • In his supposed "prayer", the pope is asking God to commit sin Himself.  This is not prayer - it is nothing short of BLASPHEMY.
Catholic Encyclopedia gives an excellent treatment of blasphemy.  I think that what the Pope did yesterday is to engage in the heretical form of blasphemy.

I am reminded of a conversation that occurred between King St Louis IX of France and his holy mother, Queen Blanche.  She said to him that "I'd rather see you dead at my feet than guilty of one mortal sin".  Do we dare doubt that Our Lord's abhorrence of sin is less than Blanche's?

I am stunned.  This isn't a mere gaffe.  I said yesterday that I think this homily is part of a campaign to get us to accept, or at least be indifferent to, the reception of Holy Communion by those living in mortal sin.  But now I realize that he is presenting a distorted image of God Himself.  But come to think of it, he is the Vicar of Christ who has been doing that for some time: the clown noses, the beach balls on the altars, the discarding of papal traditions.  I never dreamed it would come to this, but now he's painting a horrible picture of God Himself - at least he did so yesterday. I pray we don't see future episodes from the Vicar of Christ.

Let's double down on our Rosaries (I hope that doesn't sound too pelagian) for our poor Mother Church needs them.

Faithful Catholics Protest Outside As Gumbleton Commits Sacrilege Against The Mass

At a Dignity anniversary event at Detroit's Marygrove College (run by liberal IHM sisters) retired Bishop Gumbleton, in disobedience to Bishop Vigneron, presided at a "gay Mass".  No doubt numerous gays and their homophile enablers committed the mortal sin of receiving the Eucharist unworthily.  Bishop Gumbleton, by cooperating materially and formally with those mortal sins most likely laid some mortal sins to his own charge.  He failed to serve those in attendance in that Mass, owing to his horrible example.

ChurchMilitant.tv brings welcome news that this blasphemy was publicly protested on the Marygrove campus.  I post the video below.  Having engaged in similar efforts myself, I can only urge one and all to step out and make your voices heard as these sad situations are occurring.  Yes, it will be uncomfortable and will involve some confrontation - but so what?  We as Catholics are not called to be comfortable but to be signs of contradiction.  Moreover, as American citizens, our free speech rights are guaranteed under the US Constitution.  So while we have rights we also have responsibility to use those rights.  Let's get to work.

By the way: here are the links to which the video refers:

Obama The Messiah??

Some of my readers have gotten their undies in a knot when I refer to Barack HUSSEIN Obama as the Messiah Most Miserable.  I don't give a rat's rump, especially when some are calling him "lord and savior".  I speak of Jamie Foxx.  My friend at Les Femmes is quite correct in calling this a sin against the First Commandment.  God have mercy on him.

Archdiocese Of Boston Allows "Gay Pride Celebration" Mass

The buck stops with Cardinal O'Malley in regards to this travesty.  I cannot believe that he did not give permission for this blasphemy to go forward.  If he didn't, he must stand up forcefully and resolutely now and defend his flock from this scandal.  If he doesn't, he will forfeit any and all moral authority as a bishop, perhaps irrevokably.  He will have betrayed his solemn vows as bishop.  He will have in fact opened the sheep gate to the wolves.

St Cecelia has been given permission by the Archdiocese of Washington Boston (thank you anonymous for typo correction) to resume plans for their blasphemous celebration inside a Catholic church.  Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament will be subjected to all manners of abuse.  It will be much like the buffets and spitting that He endured during His Passion and death.  A sin that "cries out to heaven" will be celebrated during the Mass.  So what can be expected at this Mass?  Will there be behavior and scenes such as these inside the Church?

A few good Catholics in Boston have been speaking up.  However, there should be a deafening outcry.  Where is it?

Muslim Girl's Guide To Losing Your Virginity?

Now didn't that pique your curiousity, if not your anger?  Doesn't that seem like quite the slap in the face to the Islamic faith?  Of course it does, and I think both liberals and conservatives would agree that such a concept is an insult to one and all.

So why, oh why, is it deemed "hilarious and invigorating" by the Falcon Theatre in Los Angeles to put on a play entitled (bet you can't guess!) "The Catholic Girl's Guide to Losing Your Virginity"?

To my west coast friends and colleagues - you've got your work cut out for you!

Blasphemous Pepsi/Doritos Commercial

Apparently Pepsi and Doritos are having an ad contest, with the 10 "winners" to be aired during the Superbowl.  The below is one of the "entries".  Click here if you cannot see embedded video.

You can go here to sign a petition, or go to Pepsi's website to leave your own comment.  Either way, please speak out and don't remain silent.  We MUST defend our faith - that is not an option, but a solemn obligation.

From Hyundai

A friend of mine forwarded to me a reply that he received from Hyundai's management regarding their ad that blasphemed the Mass.  I reproduce it below.

Hello and thank you for your feedback regarding Hyundai advertising.

Hyundai Motor America would like to thank you and other consumers for sharing concerns about a new ad titled "Wedding" which aired during the opening games of the FIFA World Cup broadcast last week. We take comments of this nature very seriously. Because of feedback like yours, we have removed the ad from all Hyundai communications and stopped airing it.

We credit the passionate World Cup viewers and Hyundai owners for raising this issue to us. The unexpected response created by the ad, which combined both soccer and religious motifs to speak to the passion of international soccer fans, prompted us to take a more critical and informed look at the spot. Though unintentional, we now see it was insensitive. We appreciate your feedback and hope you will accept our sincere apologies.

With appreciation,
Hyundai Motor America

There are two things I'd like to say about this.  First, Hyundai deserves a fair amount of credit for admitting their mistake and apologizing for it.  We can all recall other organizations that didn't have nearly the amount of decency to own up to offensive behavior.

Second, this does show that protests do work.  We can never allow ourselves to think, "my efforts make no difference" and to turn away.  Keep at it.

Blasphemous Hyundai Advertisement

Watch the clip below of a Hyundai ad that mocks the Eucharist and Holy Mass.

I just emailed Hyundai to advise them that I would not buy their vehicles and that I'd advise all whom I could reach that they may wish to do likewise.  Click here to send your message.  Here is what I wrote to them:

"As a Roman Catholic who takes my God and my Church seriously, I am disgusted by your advertisement that blasphemed our Holy Mass and Holy Communion. Please be advised that I will never consider a Hyundai in any future vehicle purchase decisions. No organization that mocks Jesus Christ is worthy of my money. I will utilize my own blog to advise others to likewise boycott your products."
