Last week Cardinal "Nighty-night" Tobin gave an interview, during which he misrepresented Catholic teaching on homosexuality, perhaps in an attempt to demonize the Church and to gin up sympathy for sodomites. When asked by a reporter if the Church calls homosexuals "intrinsically disordered", Tobin replied in the affirmative. He opined that the language was "hurtful" and expressed desire that the language would "become a little less hurtful".
But that's not what the Church teaches. She never teaches that people are disordered, but rather their sinful inclinations are. Yes, the inclination to homosexuality is intrinsically disordered, since sexuality is ordered to procreation. The inclination is itself not sinful. However, if a person so afflicted acts on that disordered inclination, then he or she does commit sin.
There are two likely reasons for Tobin's gaffe. Either he is abysmally ignorant of Church teaching on this topic, OR, he is deliberately lying regarding the Church's teachings in order to make the Church appear as an ogre bent on oppressing sodomites. I strongly suspect it's the latter.
Msgr Charles Pope, in an article in the National Catholic Register, clearly laid out Christ's teachings on homosexual conduct, as they have been recognized for centuries. He also warned errant clergy of their culpability, should they dare encourage this mortal sin or contradict Our Lord Himself. Cardinal Sarah likewise laid out a dire warning to his fellow prelates. Cardinal "Nighty-Night" is a Prince of the Church. As such, he will have much for which to answer if he doesn't repent of his fomenting of dissent that has no doubt led many souls straying into hell.

The Schism In The Church Cannot Be Denied
Crisis Magazine published last week a very thoughtful article by Dennis Prager entitled "Why Judaism And Then Christianity Rejected Homosexuality". I'd urge all to read it carefully - several times. I think he's correct about the benefits of instilling Godly discipline of the procreative powers. One might do well to intersperse that reading with the reading of Humanae Vitae. One thing we can notice right off the bat is the correlation of the abolition of sexual restraint and the increase of coarseness and even violence in our society. Interestingly enough, we even notice a proportional increase in the clamoring for governmental intervention in our lives, almost as if we (as a society) both crave the controls from government to replace our own abandoned self-control and the facilitation of hedonism. That is why the Democrats, the party of baby-slaughter and sodomy, is also the party of socialism.
That article underscores the grave nature of the errors embodied in Amoralis Lamentia, particular Chapter 8 of the thing. On February 3, Cardinal Reinhard Marx, president of the German Bishops' Conference, declared that priests and clergy can conduct "blessing ceremonies" for homosexual couples. I put "blessing ceremonies" in quotes for it is impossible to bless mortal sin. The attempt to do so is both blasphemy and sacrilege. He stated this an in interview during which he also shilled for female deacons and married clergy. Why didn't he just throw abortion in there for good measure? Cardinal Marx still retains his position - unlike several faithful priests who were kicked to the curb for upholding the Church's teachings on homosexuality, etc.
Not only does the pope fail to utter one word of correction (let alone rebuke) against this flagrant disobedience to God's commands, but he gives honor to yet another dissident cleric. Father Jose Tolentino Calaca De Mendonsa (hereafter just called Fr. Tolentino for obvious reasons) is rector of the Cathedral of Lisbon. He recently wrote the introduction to a book called "Feminist Theology In History". That book sounds like a hoot, doesn't it? It's written by a faix-nun who is both pro-abortion and pro-sodomy. LifeSiteNews has details of the gibberish found in this "introduction". Now consider that Pope Francis selected Tolentino to preach at his 2018 Lenten retreat. One can only imagine the kind of poison that will be served to the pope and the others at that retreat - not that they are unaccustomed to this poison for they produce enough of it themselves.
At One Peter Five we read an article entitled "Approval For Blessings Of Homosexual Couples Equivalent To Founding A New Church". The logic behind that statement is very simple. In the authentic Church, mortal sin can never be blessed. To insinuate that such is possible is to concoct an alien moral theology. It would attempt to redefine moral truths. In order to do that, it would have to redefine a different deity, for the One True God, immutable as He is, cannot change His word.
So now we see an attempt to deform the Catholic Faith, the One True Church, into something completely alien to the Bride of Christ as He established her. Is this part and parcel of creating a "one-world religion" for a "new order"? This is not the first attempt that progressives made towards this goal. I believe they floated a trial balloon with the issue of capital punishment. This current pope and many progressives espoused a position to abolish capital punishment altogether - a complete divergence from Church tradition. Enough people are ambivalent about capital punishment so they weren't alert to the danger this posed to the Deposit of Faith. Now they are getting more brazen.
Will some of us now take off the rose-colored glasses to admit that this pontificate is dangerous? In the face of the overwhelming evidence, their denial of the facts can be considered willful - and sinful. I ask them to please stop being part of the problem and to pray and speak out for the Church.

The Year Of Mercy, Without Obedience To Our Lady Of Fatima, Will Be A Miserable Flop
Today ChurchMilitant.com published an article entitled "Two Out Of Every Three Mass-Attending Catholics Support Homosexuality". I wish I could say that this is a surprise to me, but it isn't. I live in Montgomery County Maryland and my parish is also in Montgomery County. Several years ago we were in the process of petitioning gay marriage to the ballot. We had gotten permission to collect signatures in the church lobby after Masses. Two of us were calling attendees over to sign. We called over one lady. She adamantly refused. She said she "might go to hell for this but I see no reason why gays can't get married if they want". Needless to say, my friend and I were taken aback. Now this woman recently passed away, so I pray that her declaration of support for mortal sin was not prophetic.
Two days ago the news regarding the Southern Baptists was even more disconcerting. One of the first Baptist churches of the nation is now conducting "gay #mowwidges" and ordaining gay AND "transexual", that is, self-mutilated/drugged "ministers". In their condition, they can only be ministers of death, disease and damnation. That the protestants are further down the rabbit hole of depravity than are Catholics is not surprising. It is to the Roman Catholic Church that Our Lord has entrusted the fullness of the Faith. However, we are not that far behind.
At Mass yesterday we heard a sermon on "mercy", in keeping with the "jubilee of mercy", no doubt. While there was much talk of the joys of mercy, there was very little teaching on the requirements for receiving God's mercy. Remember that this is the same parish where the woman loudly declared her support for sodomy. The blogger at Boston Catholic Insider put up a piece recently entitled "The Error Of Preaching Mercy Without Repentance". He/she articulated well what I was thinking yesterday. Without understanding the seriousness of sin and the reality of hell, to which a person will go if they have one unrepented mortal sin on their soul at time of death, there will be no appreciation nor seeking of God's mercy through the sacrament of Confession. Too often priests refuse to preach on the last four things, including hell. They are too "politically correct" to name fornication, contraception, sodomy, etc as mortal sins that can damn a soul to hell for all eternity. Thus they ill-serve their congregations, flowery "mercy" happy-talk notwithstanding.
Now let's address Our Lady of Fatima and her message. We know that she asked that Russia be consecrated to her Immaculate Heart by the Pope. Let's be VERY CLEAR! Our Lady took the trouble to specify RUSSIA! Not "the world"! Not "the universe"! She, Our Lady, Queen of heaven and earth, specified "Russia"! How dare anybody presume not to follow her lead in specifying Russia by name? Is this really so complicated? Our Lady left no "wiggle room" here! Per her very clear instructions, Russia must be singled out for consecration. Oh, it's very nice that the world was consecrated several times, but those consecrations were not done in conformity with Our Lady of Fatima's specific directions.
"But Sister Lucia said the consecration was done!", some might protest. Oh, really?? Did she??? Please consider that we were told this "second-hand". Now haven't we all seen enough of Vatican sleight-of-hands and machinations to be skeptical of anything we hear from that organization, especially when we know very well the instructions given to the three Fatima children? Then folks might say "but look at Russia and how it seems to be returning to Christianity!" That picture is not so rosy. I direct your attention to the following video and urge us all to redouble our prayer efforts so that Russia will be consecrated to Our Lady's Immaculate Heart, per her specific instructions; else there will be judgment as opposed to mercy.

Cardinal Marx Outright Shills For Holy Communion For Adulterers And Sodomites
Such was the gist of his "intervention" this past Wednesday. To complete the heretical slop, he also stated that contraception within marriage should be liberalized "to make more room for conscience". In other words, the clear teachings of Jesus Christ are to be subordinated to the demands of warped consciences. I saw this news on Church Militant's site and left the following comment. It is self-explanatory, but knowing CM's reluctance to criticize the doings and sayings of Pope Francis, here's hoping that the comment remains and that they start acknowledging the proverbial "elephant in the living room". The comment is "If Marx is allowed to remain in his various Church-related roles after this proposal of immorality and heresy, we need to acknowledge that Pope Francis approves of Marx's antics and perhaps even is applauding them. Let us cease this fear of stating these simple truths, shall we?"
Meanwhile, the bishops from Poland and Africa are having nothing to do with Marx's antics. Toronto Catholic Witness relates that Archbishop Gadecki refutes the idea of "being pastoral" and he has spoken in the name of all the Polish bishops. Michael Hichborn of Lepanto Institute asks why such matters of settled doctrine are even being discussed and then answers the question; they are being discussed because Marx et al want to unsettle these doctrines.
We've had de facto schism for some time now. This sin-nod may well formalize that reality.

Deo Gratias! Patricia Jannuzzi Reinstated In Her Job
A few weeks ago I posted about the maltreatment that Patricia Jannuzzi, a high school theology teacher, had received from both school and diocesan officials because she defended true marriage on her facebook page. The scandal had in fact erupted all over the internet. Many of us contacted these officials and let our displeasure be known. The Lepanto Institute launched an advertisement that showed on both the Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity shows, as well as an online petition drive to demand that the officials stop playing the politically-correct cowards and reinstate her to the job from which she should never have been fired.
Together we spoke truth to political correctness. We shined the light of truth, and as we all know, cockroaches hate the light. The officials realized that they were not going to escape the scrutiny and rebukes of faithful Catholics and they finally reinstated her.
This is the second recent incident that illustrates what can happen when good people are informed and when they take concerted action. I've no doubt that the gay juggernaut is upon us and that it will be the vehicle for further persecution attempts. Today's victory causes me to hope that the persecution is not inevitable. It does mean that we must be ever vigilant, never naive and willing to spring into action. The above letter makes plain that had we remained silent, Ms. Jannuzzi would have remained under the bus to where she was tossed. While we still can exercise our civil rights, we must do so lest we lose them.
One aspect of this sorry mess that warrants closer examination is the mindset of Bishop Bootkoski. When CNSNews queried him on his own adherence with Church teaching in regard to perverted conduct, he did not reply. I for one find it troubling that a Roman Catholic bishop would be so coy regarding his convictions. Any bishop worthy of the title should have no trouble announcing his allegiance in regard to Church teaching. His evasiveness lends credibility to the hypothesis that he himself dissents from the teachings of Christ in this matter. I hope someone can demonstrate that I am wrong, but if I'm not, any dissidence would explain his own participation in the maltreatment of Ms. Jannuzzi.

Looks Like All Hell Will Break Loose At The Next Synod
About 2-3 weeks ago, I put up a post in which Cardinal Burke publicly asked the Holy Father not to allow long-settled matters such as the sinfulness of homosexuality and remarriage of divorced people to be fodder of pointless debates. Debates about these matters are pointless for Our Lord has made known His mind about these quite unmistakably throughout the years. Cardinal Burke also suggested that we all petition the Holy Father along these lines. Sadly wise words have fallen on deaf ears.
Sandro Magister of www.chiesa.espressonline.net advised that the preliminary questionnaire for the October 2015 synod was released; for now it's only in Italian. The questions within it give clear indication that those matters will indeed be on the table for the October synod.
In an interview given to La Nacion yesterday, the Holy Father expressed some unfortunate sentiments regarding Holy Communion for those living in adultery - sentiments that bode ill for the October synod. I quote one below for commentary. "In the case of divorcees who have remarried, we posed the question, what do we do with them? What door can we allow them to open? This was a pastoral concern: will we allow them to go to Communion? Communion alone is no solution. The solution is integration. They have not been excommunicated, true. But they cannot be godfathers to any child being baptised, mass readings are not for divorcees, they cannot give Communion, they cannot teach Sunday school, there are about seven things that they cannot do, I have the list over there. Come on! If I disclose any of this it will seem that they have been excommunicated in fact. Thus, let us open the doors a bit more.”
"What doors can we allow them to open?" Answer - the door to the confessional, with a proper desire to quit the sinful relationship as befits authentic repentance. Divorcees who have remarried without a declaration of nullity of their first marriages are by definition living in a state of adultery. That is mortal sin, a direct violation of the Sixth Commandment. For their own good they are prohibited from Holy Communion and from all prominent places of service to the Church.
What I stated in the paragraph preceding this is nothing more than Church teaching for these past hundreds of years. Once upon a time every child who attended Catholic school was well-versed in these matters. So why, oh why, are the perennial teachings of Holy Mother Church allowed to be debated, doubted and questioned by the very prelates who are tasked by Our Lord with their protection and promulgation?
As I said, I believe all hell will break loose at the synod. I don't mean "hell" in terms of strenuous argument but in terms of spiritually deadly heresies being insinuated into the proceedings by those from the highest offices of the Vatican. If that's the case, we'd better pray that more like Cardinals Burke and Pell will raise their voices and, if necessary, pound their fists on tables in defense of the truth.

SinNod Interim Report Soft-Pedals Mortal Sin To The Eternal Detriment Of The Sinners
Today the Interim Report from the SinNod was released. Here is the English translation from the Vatican Press Office. By the way - I've taken the precaution of saving this thing to my own computer, just in case it "disappears" (ahem!). I'd suggest others do the same. Quite frankly, it is a friggin' disaster and portends God's judgment if the current course of the SinNod doesn't turn around. Please have this document open in another window as I'll be working my way through it; I'd rather not "copy/paste" passages; otherwise this post will become too voluminous and bulky.
We look at paragraph 20, where "irregular situations" are discussed. These includes those living together without benefit of marriage, those married civilly and those divorced and subsequently married civilly. Let me call these what they really are: the first two are the sin of fornication and the third is the sin of adultery. Both are mortal sins. In order for one to be culpable of mortal sin, three elements must be present: 1) grave matter, which these situations obviously are, 2) full knowledge of their sinfulness (given the dismal state of catechesis, this knowledge isn't always present and 3) acting on this sin with full knowledge of sin and disregard of the same.
The paragraph talks of these objectively sinful situations and "the positive values the contain". I posit that any "positive value" is far outweighed by the danger of damnation to those participating in these relationships. Nowhere in this discussion do I see any reference to the eternal destinies of those engaged in these mortally sinful situations, nor do I see any mention of the need for repentance and Confession.
As you work your way down, notice paragraphs 47 and 48. They deal with persons who are divorced from their first spouses and who are civilly remarried without obtaining a Church annulment. Paragraph 47 starts by saying "as regards the possibility of partaking in the sacraments of Penance and the Eucharist". It sounds laudable, but only if the Sacrament of Penance includes the cessation of de facto adultery; else there is the issue of a sacrilegious confession. Likewise, reception of the Eucharist in such a state would be yet another sacrilege. There are those clergy who think themselves as being "merciful" for their prattle of condoning these unworthy reception of the sacraments. In fact, such false mercy would be an act of unspeakable cruelty, as these clergy - wolves in sheeps' clothing - would in fact be facilitating yet more mortal sin upon the souls of those in their charge.
Now move along to paragraphs 50 - 52, dealing with homosexual persons. Paragraph 50 urges Catholics, in regard to the homosexual to "value their sexual orientation". Let me say this right now and I mean every word of this. That statement in paragraph 50 is pure satanic pig-slop! Church teaching has always declared the homosexual orientation to be intrinsically disordered. There is nothing - NOTHING! - to value about an intrinsically disordered orientation that, if followed, will lead to heartbreak on earth and hellfire for eternity. Will these faux-clergy soon be talking about valuing the "orientation" of a child-rapist, or a binge-drinker? How about the "orientation" of serial shop-lifters?
The seduction to mortal sin continues in paragraph 52, as it erroneously states, "there are cases in which mutual aid to the point of sacrifice constitutes a precious support in the life of the partners". I almost don't know where to begin. Real aid would entail the accomplices in sin to separate and cease their perversion. As it is, this so-called "precious support" is really the two accomplices blinding each other as they mutually push each other towards eternal damnation. The gay person who claims to be loving his/her partner deceives only him/herself, as their sin condemns not only them, but the one whom they purport to "love". Their very dalliances point not to authentic charity but to a reckless disregard for the spiritual well-being of their "partners". Why we see this self-deception affirmed in this SinNod is impossible to discern, unless it is a pandering to the gay elements within the Vatican itself.
Speaking of authentic ministry to homosexual persons, were any representatives from the excellent Catholic apostolate called "Courage" invited? I have heard no mention of them. Perhaps they too, like the JP II Institute for Marriage and Family, were ostracized because of their fidelity to the Magisterium.
I am so glad this document is relatively short, for it contained way too much spiritual poison as it is. Here is commentary offered by LifeSiteNews. Voice of the Family has called this report "a betrayal". I concur.
I'll close this now with today's Vortex report coming from the Vatican. Voris, in commenting on the "openness" of the Vatican, quipped that the Obama administration is more transparent than this SinNod. He also asked a number of questions about conflicting messages from the SinNod. I can only surmise he recorded this before this interim report was released for this report, if nothing else, made plain the nefarious direction of this SinNod.

A Tale Of Two Bishops
Two very different bishops have shown the world what motivates them - one to shame and the other to honor. First let's look at the "bad news".
Bishop Gary Gordon is prelate to the Diocese of Whitehorse in Yukon, Canada. This diocese had promulgated a policy for pastoral care for same-sex attracted students in its schools. At first this policy conformed to and echoed the Church's teachings regarding homosexuality. But these schools are publicly funded. It aroused a bit of rancor among the politically-correct public. The Minister of Education ordered Bishop Gordon to expunge the policy of Catholic morality. Shamefully the bishop cowered and complied. It would have been better for the all concerned had the bishop simply refused to accept any more government funds and made clear to all that the laws of Jesus Christ reign supreme. Instead, he squandered an opportune teaching moment and brought shame upon the Church in Canada.
That's today's bad news - now for the good news.
Bishop Thomas Paprocki of the Diocese of Springfield is acting proactively to stare down a planned gay-rights protest. He has already announced that anyone wearing rainbow sashes (indicating affiliation with the Rainbow Sash Movement) will not be granted admittance to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Furthermore he stated that anyone praying for "marriage equality" will be asked to leave. He did reiterate that the church remains open for those who wish to repent of their sins. Now this is a bishop!!
