In most US dioceses, the second collection at this weekend's Masses will go towards the Catholic Relief Services.  This includes Baltimore and Washington DC.  This blog, the Lepanto Institute, and other faithful Catholic sites have cited numerous reasons over the years how this outfit, along with the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, Catholic Charities and others have funneled millions of dollars towards progressive organizations that spread both spiritual and physical death and destruction.  And no, they didn't just naively give over the cash.  They were founded with the express purpose of undermining Holy Mother Church.

The recent inauguration of President Donald J. Trump, after his landslide victory in the Presidential Election, is a reason for great hope for every American Catholic, but also for all those Catholics in Western nations, which today have been subjected to the globalist coup, who are aware of the need and also the concrete possibility of rebelling against the tyranny of the New World Order – always with the help of God – before it is too late. What the deep state prevented with electoral fraud in 2020 has now been achieved: for the first time after years of woke madness, a President of the United States can carry out the program for which he was elected, restoring those principles of natural law that are the basis of civil life and a well-ordered society. It is the revolution of common sense, or, better said, the counter-revolution of common sense.

The Conflict of Interest of Trump’s Opponents

But if Christians and all people of good will almost seem to breathe a collective sigh of relief as they see the President’s campaign promises materialize day after day – starting with the abolition of LGBTQ+ and gender indoctrination in schools – it should not be surprising that the election of Donald Trump represents a real disaster for many others. Among these there are certainly characters with more than questionable conduct – exponents of the pharmaceutical, food, and military lobbies, tycoons of high finance or international organizations – who have benefited and still continue to do so in terms of power and money from woke ideology, the Agenda 2030, NetZero, pandemics, smart cities and uncontrolled immigration.

Individuals whom no one has elected, and who have no right to interfere in the government of nations other than the blackmail power they have acquired over their servants and the corruption of their accomplices, have created false emergencies – health emergencies; war emergencies; economic, climatic, and social emergencies – in order to be able to impose their solutions, based on false data. Many of you have realized the incongruity of the responses that governments and international organizations gave to certain events: for example, because of the alleged causal relationship between the percentage of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and alleged global warming (false premise) and the supposedly consequent need to reduce its presence in the atmosphere (false objective), draconian measures have been applied in the Western nations to reduce the emission of CO2 (false solution).

The True Purpose of “Emergencies”

This apparent inconsistency is due to a fact that is slowly beginning to be understood by more and more people: the ultimate purpose of all these so-called emergencies is to justify the adoption of social, economic, food, and health policies which are intended to invariably lead to a drastic reduction in the world population. This is the declared goal of the followers of the World Economic Forum in Davos headed by Klaus Schwab. It does not matter if the population dies from cancers induced by vaccines, from poisons added to food or sprayed from the sky, from harmful substances released into the water, from sterility psychologically induced by LGBTQ+ ideology or surgically from gender transition, from poverty caused by rising inflation, from wars, or from the violence and crimes of illegal immigrants. The final result corresponds to a precise neo-Malthusian project, which Bill Gates and other self-styled “philanthropists” pursue as the main objective of their companies and foundations.

It is no mystery that private supranational organizations such as the UN, WHO, WEF, World Bank, European Central Bank, and International Monetary Fund answer to a board of directors, whose members are all convinced supporters of demographic decline and the need to replace national sovereignty with the New World Order.

It is also no mystery that there are enormous conflicts of interest in the public sector as well, deriving from the lobbying activity of multinational corporations or other bodies that interfere in the government of nations. Members of the United States Congress receive large sums of money from multinational corporations in exchange for the approval of laws that benefit them: this applies to the military, pharmaceutical, agri-food and technology industries. Without these undue and subversive interferences, we would never have had the Covid pandemic, the bird flu scare, electric cars, the wars in Ukraine and in the Middle East, synthetic meat, flour made from insects, and geoengineering. All of these “emergencies” have as their immediate purpose the enrichment of specific financial lobbies which are often part of the same investment funds.

Two Subversive Entities

Among the entities that support the globalist agenda for the profits they derive from it in terms of power and money is the deep state, made up of those apparatuses that have embedded themselves within the government and that determine its political action and choices, regardless of the color of the various alternating administrations, acting for their own interests against those of the citizens they claim to serve.

However, there is also what I myself have called the deep church, which is similarly composed of exponents of the Catholic Hierarchy, who after decades of progressive infiltration and occupation have come to take full control of the Catholic Church, along with Jorge Mario Bergoglio. These fifth columns of the globalist elite use their authority for the interests of third parties, in opposition to the glory of God, the honor of the Church, and the good of souls.

These two subversive entities – deep state and deep church, as I recalled in my first Open Letter to President Trump in 2020 (here) – are mirror images and complementary: their members are traitors in the service of illegitimate powers, which we have seen acting in a coordinated way during the pandemic farce, with “green fraud” and trafficking in illegal immigrants. American citizens and faithful Catholics have now understood that the serious social, economic, and religious crisis of the nation has been caused and prepared from afar by the coup of these forces subverting legitimate authority, one in the civil sphere and the other in the religious sphere. Americans have also come to understand that there is a huge difference between the refugee fleeing persecution and an organized mass of adult men of military age, transferred in a systematic way within national borders, who effectively constitute in a contingent of enemy soldiers and a potential threat to national security and the safety of citizens.

The Complicity of the Deep State with the Deep Church

The proof of the complicity between the deep state and the deep church is given not only by the fact that both support the programmatic points of the Agenda 2030 because they derive an immediate advantage from them, but also by their mutual unwillingness to accept the reality that a legitimately elected President now desires to concretely implement the commitments he made during his electoral campaign. Their resistance is due to the fact that Trump’s initiatives seek to put an end to the network of interests and profits that they have fraudulently constructed in recent years. It is no mystery that the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has never – and I repeat: never – raised a penny to fight abortion, but rather has funded with tens of millions of dollars associations that adhere to the Catholic Campaign for Human Development and promote abortion, contraception, and homosexuality. Nor does the USCCB have any qualms about receiving subsidies from the Department of the Treasury for its management of illegal immigration, as its budgets, which are public, prove. And it should be remembered that, in addition to government funds, the USCCB receives funding from institutions and private foundations for the same purposes.

If in fact, as some would have us believe, the Bergoglian Hierarchy truly had at heart the salvation of souls – of all souls, both the souls of US citizens and the souls of the migrants who arrive on US territory – it should be doing what the Catholic Church has already very successfully undertaken in the past: providing for the evangelization, conversion, and religious instruction of these souls. I am thinking, for example, of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini, the foundress of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the first American citizen to be raised to the honors of the altar. Her work of assistance to immigrants (initially Italians) expanded to include all those in need. She built churches, kindergartens, schools, boarding schools for female students, orphanages, retirement homes for lay and religious women, hospitals, and colleges thanks to the generosity of Catholics. Her example of a true apostolic and missionary spirit has been renounced, and cancel culture, so much in vogue today in the Bergoglian Church, is almost ashamed of the charitable work undertaken by her and other Saints.

The Lucrative Business of Immigration

What is happening today is precisely the opposite of the Church’s true mission: the Hierarchy is only concerned with grabbing government funding for the management of “welcoming immigrants” at taxpayer expense or for the provision of morally unacceptable treatments in so-called Catholic hospitals, even including mutilation for gender transition. In America there are hundreds of nominally “Catholic” institutions that receive public money to provide services that are entirely incompatible with the Catholic Magisterium.

By promoting the indiscriminate “welcoming” of immigrants, the Bishops show that they care more about the profits of the illegal immigrant business rather than the salvation of souls, the authentic social redemption of the weakest, or the protection of the flock entrusted to them. And here it is appropriate to remind the Catholic faithful that the Bishops have first of all a moral responsibility before God and the Church for the sheep of their flock, whom they have a duty to protect from the attacks of wolves.

The complicity of so many of the Bishops of the United States in the present crisis derives from their total concurrence with globalism, whose soul is intrinsically antichristic and therefore anti-religious and anti-human. This complicity is expressed not only in the promotion of the indiscriminate reception of illegal immigrants, but also in the other “sustainable goals” of the Agenda 2030, including LGBTQ+ ideology and gender theory: in the United States, according to current data, there are over 150 Catholic hospitals that offer “treatment” – that is, genital mutilation – for gender transition.

It should not surprise anyone that the American economist Mariana Mazzucato, a member of the World Economic Forum (here) with ties to the Club of Rome (here), has been appointed by Bergoglio to the Pontifical Academy for Life despite being an atheist and pro-abortionist. In November 2024 she declared at the Annual Meeting of Davos that, since the elite has not managed to vaccinate the entire world population through the pandemic crisis, it is necessary to focus on a less abstract strategy such as a water crisis (here).

The Biden Administration, and more generally all recent US administrations, both those led by Democrats and those led by neo-cons – have distinguished themselves for having financed abortion, genital mutilation even of young adolescents, genetic manipulation, surrogate motherhood, and euthanasia with public funding. Although the Catholic Church condemns these aberrations without exception, the silence of the American Bishops has been deafening. This makes it clear that there is nothing genuinely Catholic about the “pastoral” action of these Bishops, and that the only reason that leads the Episcopate to support a government is the advantage it can derive from it in terms of power and money; even if this means abandoning millions of human beings who have been brought into the United States by criminal organizations in order to then be exploited as slaves in humiliating working conditions, or forced into prostitution (including minors), drug dealing, and the black market of organ predation.

This mass of victims of elite cynicism weighs on the conscience of many rulers and many Bishops, and the new Trump Administration gives hope that a wise regulation of the migration phenomenon can largely solve the problems of security and crime that all citizens have come to know only too well.

The Bergoglian Church is an Accomplice in Ethnic Replacement

In this context, it is dismaying to hear the words of Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who recently stated – referring to Italy but speaking about the entire Western world – that, in the face of demographic decline, the only workable solution is to import immigrants, thus concretizing the ethnic replacement theorized by Kalergi, the pan-European. This proposal is also widely reflected in similar requests from multinational corporations, who see the importation of immigrants as a way to drastically reduce the cost of labor to the detriment of native workers, further increasing their profits. As we can see, Authority is now completely subservient to the diktats of the elite, with the complicity of the mainstream media, even if this leads to a worsening of the social and working conditions of the population. Or rather, it is precisely for this reason, since, as I said, the ultimate goal of this lobby is the extermination of a sizeable portion of the human race.

The Numbers Speak for Themselves

Finally, we cannot forget that the budgets of US Dioceses, already largely compromised by the millions of dollars doled out in compensation for the cases of sexual abuse, and also depleted by the abandonment of an ever-increasing number of faithful from the official Catholic Church because of its betrayal of its nature and mission, have their main income from government funds given to them for the purpose of “welcoming” immigrants. Along with Catholic charitable organizations, the sum received by the American Catholic Church for “welcoming” immigrants amounts to over 2.4 billion dollars (here), an exorbitant figure that highlights at least a serious conflict of interest and that does not solve the social problems that derive from it in the least. And it is gravely detrimental to the entire Catholic Church to have Bishops for whom the maintenance of power renders irrelevant the link between the presence of thousands of irregular minors on American soil and their exploitation by perverts, pedophiles, organ harvesters, and criminals of all kinds. President Trump and Vice President Vance are demonstrating that they know how to protect the little ones of whom the Gospel speaks (Mt 18:6), contrary to what the American Bishops and Bergoglio himself have done thus far.

The (Counter) Revolution of Common Sense

President Trump’s Executive Orders can only be hailed as absolutely supported by every Catholic worthy of the name, just as Catholics ought to praise the support shown by the President and Vice President for the March for Life, which the previous Administration officially opposed, even to the point of arresting those who prayed silently near abortion clinics. Donald Trump’s Presidential Pardon for those who had been so imprisoned confirms a reversal of the trend with respect to the “Catholic” Joe Biden, just as the end of public funding for the abortion multinational corporation Planned Parenthood and the providential cuts in disbursements to self-styled Catholic organizations that favor illegal immigration represent a radical change.

The statement that there are only two sexes, in its banal obviousness, is now a revolutionary proposition – what President Trump calls the “revolution of common sense” – yet Bishops, priests, and nuns deplore his action as “divisive.” But if anyone is sowing division, it is precisely those who are feeding the monstrosities of woke ideology against the mandate they have received from Christ: first and foremost, Jorge Mario Bergoglio.

The Role of the USCCB

Of course, it is not surprising that McCarrick’s heirs, who have been promoted by Bergoglio to the top of the Catholic Church in the United States, are so prompt to deplore the policies of canceling laws in favor of woke ideology, starting with those who denied the binary complementarity of the sexes and recognized gender dysphoria even in minors: their subordination to the LGBTQ+ lobby is widely proven, both institutionally and personally. And it is well known – as Dr. Taylor Marshall has pointed out – that almost all Catholic Bishops in the United States have been vetted and nominated by the previous three liberal cardinals in Washington, DC (the pedophile homosexuals McCarrick, Wuerl, and Gregory), and then appointed directly by Bergoglio. Marshall rightly comments: “Company men follow company orders. They all owe each other” (here). These serious deviations within the Clergy and Bishops will have to be the subject of a great operation of removal and reform in due time, because they constitute a subversive element within the ecclesial structure that is irreconcilable with the Faith and Morals of the Catholic Church. The Bishops’ Conferences themselves – a spurious body of parliamentarian matrix that has no legitimacy from a doctrinal and canonical point of view – represent an independent entity that have been transformed over the past few decades into political lobbying groups by the ultra-progressive Bishops. The proposal to revoke the USCCB’s tax-exempt status (here) should therefore be widely supported by faithful Catholics. And of course Bergoglio should be the first to support this salutary initiative, since, after all, he desires a “poor church for the poor . . . .”

Catholics also have the possibility of re-directing their offerings and donations to those ecclesial realities that remain faithful to Tradition and the perennial Magisterium of the Catholic Church, withholding them from the Dioceses whose Bishops impose doctrinal errors and moral deviations.

The Government can also intervene, without violating the freedom of the Church, in order to bring to light and severely punish the scandals and cover-ups that have not prevented certain Prelates from being appointed to the head of the most prestigious Dioceses in America, not least the newly-appointed Archbishop of Washington, Robert McElroy. Many Catholics expect justice to be done, first of all out of respect for the victims who have thus far been abandoned by both civil power and ecclesiastical authority (here).

The Withdrawal from the WHO

Catholics are in absolute agreement with Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., about the exit of the United States of America from the World Health Organization that was accomplished by a recent Executive Order. The policies promoted by this private organization – financed mainly by pharmaceutical companies and Bill Gates – for so-called “reproductive health” and for “gender equality,” along with claims about the supposed “sexual rights of minors” and disturbing initiatives to decriminalize pedophilia, cannot be accepted or even financed by American Catholics. The same applies to the global “health policies” which the WHO would like to impose on sovereign nations.

The Woke Church

American Catholics have the right to demand that their Bishops behave in accordance with the perennial Magisterium of the Catholic Church, and that they not lend any moral or material support to what is repugnant to the Natural Law even before it is a violation of the Commandments of God. It is therefore outrageous and scandalous to learn from the Davos Forum that important LGBTQ+ organizations consider Jorge Mario Bergoglio a precious ally in achieving their agenda of normalizing sexual perversions (here).

In the civil sphere, the emissaries of the deep state have seriously compromised citizens’ trust in institutions and governments, and it will be up to President Trump and his Administration to restore the trust and respect that previous governments (whether Democrat or RINO) have deliberately undermined in recent years. Similarly, the deep church has heavily delegitimized the faithful’s trust in the Catholic Church and her Hierarchy, but we do not know when the occupation of these heretics and perverts will end. For this reason, it is understandable that Catholics feel somehow more protected by a Protestant President than by their “pope” – who is not Catholic and perhaps not even Christian – in the fight the President is leading against the deep state and the globalist Left. Indeed, they have a “pope” who perfectly embodies the one who was intended to replace Benedict XVI, as revealed by John Podesta’s emails published by Wikileaks in 2016. And to close the magic circle of vices and perversions, it is enough to remember that among Podesta’s closest collaborators is Slade Sohmer, who was arrested in 2023 for pedophilia and child pornography: we are talking about an important collaborator of Hillary Clinton and John Podesta, linked to the world of Broadway and cinema, who had worked in the effort to debunk the infamous Pizzagate, that is, the network of vile complicities and horrendous crimes against minors that revolves around the international deep state. How can we think that characters organic to the system of corruption can condemn the vices and crimes that involve them first and foremost? And how can we be surprised by the hysterical reaction of certain Bishops and Cardinals, now that they are facing the removal of a trough from which they have continually feasted?

The Real Battle Begins Now

It is difficult to predict how these subversive forces will react to the organized and incisive action of the Trump Administration. Nonetheless, it is likely that the colossal economic interests and the existing network of corruption will lead to a clash between opposing and irreconcilable forces. In this battle, which Saint Paul rightly points out is pre-eminently a spiritual one, the role of Catholics will be decisive, and it will be a battle fought with no holds barred. If the deep state went to the point of subverting the results of the 2020 Presidential Election and the deep church went to the point of placing on the Chair of Peter its own emissary who would embody the woke ideals of a “progressive spring” welcomed by the deep state, it is unlikely that they will give up the power they have acquired just because the majority of Americans now understand the threat that they represent. Indeed, the increasingly widespread awareness of the coup perpetrated by the globalist elite and the end of the censorship system of some social platforms make this redde rationem [give an account] inevitable. And along with the collapse of the woke cabal in the United States, the subversive lobby of other nations will also begin to fall like dominos, beginning in Europe.

The meaning of the word apocalypse is “unveiling”, “revelation.” In these epochal times, the forces of Good must finally unite to form a common front against the forces of Evil, which have always been organized and very powerful. And Catholics must understand that, as Sacred Scripture and the Magisterium of the Church teach, as the end times approach, there will be a clash that will make the two sides become clear. This will be the true unveiling, the true revelation, as announced to the Blessed Virgin Mary by the prophet Simeon: Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against […], so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed (Lk 2:34-35). This unveiling will show us the true intentions hidden behind the emergencies and crises speciously planned by the globalist elite and ratified by the Bergoglian church, and will force us to side either with Christ or against Christ, since no one can serve two masters; […] you cannot serve both God and money (Mt 6:24). And money, as we see, is truly Satan’s manure, the fuel that feeds the infernal machine of the New World Order.

Authority on earth, both temporal and spiritual, belongs exclusively to Our Lord Jesus Christ, King and High Priest. All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me (Mt 28:18), said Our Lord. He grants it in a vicarious form to His representatives, so that they may exercise it within the well-defined boundaries of Good and Truth. If this vicarious authority, whether temporal or spiritual, is exercised against the purpose for which it was willed by God, it becomes illegitimate and null. For this reason, faced with the evidence of the betrayal of those who hold Authority on earth, all Catholics must refuse to give obedience to one who was the first to disobey Christ; nor must they attribute to Holy Church the faults, however horrible, of her unworthy Ministers. Rather, we must pray that the Lord will guard His sheep and punish the wolves who are disguised as sheep. Let us remember with sure hope the words of the Lord: These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but take courage: I have overcome the world (Jn 16:33).

Conclusion

While it is true that all salvation ultimately comes from God, this does not mean that we may simply passively sit around waiting for divine intervention. No, we must cooperate with God’s grace through personal commitment, courageous testimony, and the coherent witness of our lives. Let us therefore begin to make this counter-revolution of common sense our own, rejecting the lies and deceptions of those who seek to subvert the very foundations of the Natural Law after having trampled on the Divine Law. Let us defend the family, children, and those who are weak. Let us jealously guard our Faith, the civilization built on its foundation, and the traditions of our fathers.

May the Most Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, Empress of the Americas, spread Her protective mantle over all of you, dear brothers and sisters, over President Trump and Vice President Vance, and over all those who refuse to retreat in the face of the arrogance of the wicked. And may God bless the United States of America.

Archdiocese of Baltimore Social Ministry - Brainwashing For Progressivism - Part 1

On Saturday, April 13, 2024, the Archdiocese of Baltimore hosted its 45th Annual Social Ministry Convocation.  Instead of Mercy High School, the location changed to Calvert Hall College Hight School.  It's not far from Mercy, where it had happened for quite a few years now, just a few miles north off Loch Raven Boulevard.  One wonders why they felt it necessary to make the switch.  In reality, Calvert also seems to be inclined to coddle various perversions among its students.   Under the "about us" section of the page, we see a sub-header for "diversity, equity and inclusion".  We know what these buzz words signify.  From that page we read (copy and pasted here) "We endeavor to instill in our students respect, understanding, and appreciation for all individuals, regardless of race, sex, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability, socioeconomic status, age, or religion. "  So in practical terms, what does that mean?   Does that mean if some young gal thinks she's a guy and changes her name from Ellen to Allan, can be admitted to the school under those pretenses and share a gym locker room with 15-year-old biologically-born males?  Inquiring minds (like donors and parents) would like to know.  But I digress.

When we discovered what was about to happen last year, one of our friends attended that thing to see how bad it was going to be.  The Archdiocese of Baltimore, regrettably, lived down to the expectations.  This blog covered that quite a bit, and the mess was written up in the March-April 2023 issue of the Defend Life newsletter, starting on page 4.

I attended the mess myself, and another faithful Catholic did the same.  When I registered, I had to write a $25.00 check to the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.  I was quite revolted at the idea, but did so to gain admittance.  The beginning prayer service was in full swing by the time I got to the auditorium.

Shortly thereafter, the beginning panel discussion took place.  The panelists are pictured to the right.  I will name them, left to right.  The first lady is Giuliana Valencia-Banks, Chief of Immigrant Affairs for Baltimore County.  She was not a member of the panel but was simply the discussion moderator.  The panelists are, moving to the right:

• Father Matthew Buening, pastor of St Matthew's on Loch Raven Boulevard and Archdiocesan Coordinator of LGBT Mininstries
• M. Gayle Briscoe, Baltimore City Organizer for Bridge Maryland Inc
• Erin Younkins, Director of Office of Life, Justice and Peace for the Archdiocese of Baltimore
• Jose Aguto, Executive Director of Catholic Climate Covenant

I will give some background on some of these people and/or their organizations, not in order of their appearance in the line-up.

We'll start with Ms. Briscoe's organization.  Bridge Inc, as evidenced from their website, is a community-organizing bunch affiliated with Gamaliel Inc.  I've written a bit about Gamaliel before; among other things, it is with them that a young Barack Obama got started in "community organizing".  As you read that anthology of posts, you'll notice Gamaliel's ties to CCHD.  To whom did all us convocation attendees have to fork over $25 to attend the little gab-fest?

Let's look at Catholic Climate Covenant, shall we?  Readers of this blog will recall that I've written a bit about them in the past. Exposes on them and other such organizations have shown them to be into the promotion of population control, one-world government, and earth-worship.  One can often get a decent sense of the organization by looking at its board of directors.  Notice that Stephen Schneck sits on that board.  At one time, Schneck was co-chair of "Catholics for Obama".

Then we have Sister Patricia Talone, of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas.  They are headquartered in an office suite in Silver Spring, MD.  I remember several years ago that some of us picketed them when they hosted New Ways Ministries for one of their meetings.  A gander at this site makes plain their own disobedience to Church teaching on sexuality.

Moving onto Father Buening, some background is in order.  He succeeded Father Joseph Muth as Pastor of St Matthew's church when the latter was forced to retire by Archbishop Lori.  Muth had been there approximately 20 years.  During that time, he led St Matthew's down the primrose path of all manners of gay-coddling.  He even led a contingent from St Matthew's in several of Baltimore's gay pride parades.

After Muth left and Buening took over, many of us had hopes that he would restore some semblance of the Catholic faith to St Matthew's.  I am not so sure of that now.  During the panel discussion, Buening remarked how he met "holy gay and trans people".  FULL STOP!  One cannot be "holy" while continuing to reject the very nature of how God created them, and that is precisely what those engaged in sexual perversions are doing.  Moving on, he said his ministry was about "listening, hearing stories, accompanying people on a long and winding road..."  Then he lamented how the Church has been "condemning and judgmental...I started to feel very strongly that we as a Church need to change this, not just with dry catechesis, but love and relationships."

Let me pause for a little unpacking. First, don't we all hear echoes of Francis in this speech, what with all the talk about "accompanying" and "dry catechesis versus love"?  Accompany?  To where, precisely?  Moreover, this "dry catechesis" is God's word and commands.  Without these being promulgated clearly and often, the sexually deviant person will be "accompanied" straight to hell.  All are welcomed into the Church, but all must come in via way of repentance, and that means repentance from sexual perversions of all sorts, including the LGBTQ categories.

The last question for the panel members was who inspired them the most.  Father Bruening stated that his inspiration was Father Muth, his disaster-laden predecessor at St Matthew's.  He also gave a shout-out to Muth for he was in attendance.  In fact, Muth was seated just a few rows in front of me.  Truth be told, when I first noted him as I sat down, I thought he looked somewhat familiar.  As Bruening spoke, the bulk of the attendees broke out into a rather loud yet dismaying applause.  Such adulation revealed the regrettable mindsets of too many Catholics. 

Thus the panel discussion ended and we all headed to various workshops.  They will be the topic of subsequent posts.

November Is The Time To #SayNo2CCHD

Within a few weeks, most dioceses in the US will devote their second collections to the Catholic Campaign for Human Development - CCHD for short.  Long-time readers of this blog (and others) will recall that we've said much about the immense harm done by the CCHD - after unsuspecting Catholics have been duped into donating their hard-earned money to them.

In tonight's episode of the Anchor Team, Michael Hichborn details another chapter of his expose of the CCHD.  Towards the end of his presentation, he engages in some discussion about what we Catholics in the pews can do about them.  In the second article of the anthology to which I linked in the first paragraph is an envelope stuffer that you may wish to use when that second collection basket passes in front of you during Mass.  

Please watch the episode in its entirety, then take some action.  With the Sin-Nod droning on, it can be easy for such things as the CCHD collection to slip right by us, but we mustn't relax our vigilance.

New Head of Catholic Charities USA Will Continue Left-Leaning Directions

Catholic Charities USA selected its new President and Chief Executive Officer.  Her name is Kerry Alys Robinson.  Judging from that write-up, it appears that she will help propel Catholic Charities down to its progressive abys.  She is replacing Sister Donna Markam, who will soon retire.  She hails from the Leadership Roundtable, which is fraught with its own left-wing influences.  She was a member of the national committee for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, about which I and other Catholic bloggers have written copiously.

Let's look at some of her new colleagues at Catholic Charities USA.  There's Keith Styles, the Executive Vice President, General Council and Chief Operating Officer.  He has quite the record for political contributions, donating regularly to ActBlue and to "Hillary for America" in 2016.  John Kerry received $1,000.00 when he ran in 2004.

Bill Gangluff, Chief Communications and Marketing Officer, a graduate of Notre Dame, also contributed frequenly to ActBlue.  

All in all, we have ample reason to believe that Catholic Charities will continue to champion left-wing ideologies, and they'll most likely continue to facilitate the crashing of our southern borders.  Catholic Charities remains another "catholicized" slush fund that doesn't deserve our collection dollars.

Serious Clean-Up Needed At Baltimore's Catholic Review Diocesan Rag

Several years ago I leafletted cars of the attendees at one of these "Social Ministry Convocation" in Baltimore, knowing that they were smooching up to the gay agenda.  Indeed, as I was leafletting, I couldn't help but notice all the sodomy-affirming bumper strips on the cars. 

This past March, they did so again.  It's no surprise since the Catholic Campaign for Human Development seems to be spearheading these things.  But please look closely at that link.  Yes, it is the Baltimore Catholic Review to which I'm linking.  This rag is the official newspaper of the Archdiocese of Baltimore.  This is from their March 16th edition, advertising for this gathering that was to occur on March 26.  

The schedule says quite blatantly that one of the "workshops" is "Dreaming of a Church That Is Inclusive and Welcoming of LGBTQ+ Catholics".  Because I see no sign of calling to repentance those who are engaging in homosexual acts and/or making a monstrosity out of marriage, I could just as well reword that title to read "Dreaming of a Church That Coddles Sexual Perversion and Ushers LGBTQ+ Catholics Straight to Hell".

I might have expected such an announcement from New Ways Ministry or the Washington Blade, but not from an official publication of a Catholic archdiocese.  Is there any kind of archdiocesan oversight for the Review?  Or are archdiocesan officials complicit in the promotion of sodomy?

By the way - I believe the CCHD collection for Baltimore will be in November.  Here you have yet another reason to utterly boycott that collection.

Catholic Charities Knowingly Engages In Human Trafficking

Complicit Clergy produced the expose that is below.  Truth be told, it is no surprise that Catholic Charities is all on board with human trafficking, including the rapes of women and children, the usage of children to portray an image of families coming across the border.  Apparently the children are being used multiple times, being drugged so as not to react with fright to total strangers holding them.

After you watch this video, please read the anthology of posts that I did about Catholic Charities over the years.  You'll see that Catholic Charities has collected millions of tax dollars to "resettle" border-crashers (by the way, "tax dollars" means your dollars extorted by the feds).  Now one wonders if they might be receiving funding from other sources such as drug and prostitution cartels.

One of my first forays into picketing faux-katholycs was a picket of a DC Catholic Charities Gala that featured pro-abort AFL-CIO leader John Sweeney and now Mr McCarrick as co-chairs.  Many of the "katholycs" entering into the swanky affair gave us the finger and utilized language that would have done the town drunks proud.

Not only is Catholic Charities involved in scandalous, if not criminal activity, but Catholic Relief Services and Catholic Campaign for Human Development are as well.  I won't say they are compromised, as though their original purposes were noble.  Rather, I will say that the undermining of Catholic faith IS their original purpose.  Give them not one red cent of your hard-earned money and encourage others to do the same.  Many truly worthwhile charities exist that would be more worthy recipients of your contributions.

Attention, Archdiocese Of Washington Catholics! CCHD Collection This Weekend

This weekend's second collection is for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.  As it has been amply demonstrated time and again that monies donated in this collection will serve only to undermine the Faith, we urge you to boycott this collection!  Not one penny of Catholic money towards communism, pro-abortion groups, gay and transgender activism, etc.  There are plenty of truly worthy charities where your donations will be properly utilized.

Election Dirt Being Uncovered, AP And USCCB Try To Help With Obfuscation

 A statement from President Trump today:

“We all know why Joe Biden is rushing to falsely pose as the winner, and why his media allies are trying so hard to help him: they don’t want the truth to be exposed. The simple fact is this election is far from over. Joe Biden has not been certified as the winner of any states, let alone any of the highly contested states headed for mandatory recounts, or states where our campaign has valid and legitimate legal challenges that could determine the ultimate victor. In Pennsylvania, for example, our legal observers were not permitted meaningful access to watch the counting process. Legal votes decide who is president, not the news media.

“Beginning Monday, our campaign will start prosecuting our case in court to ensure election laws are fully upheld and the rightful winner is seated. The American People are entitled to an honest election: that means counting all legal ballots, and not counting any illegal ballots. This is the only way to ensure the public has full confidence in our election. It remains shocking that the Biden campaign refuses to agree with this basic principle and wants ballots counted even if they are fraudulent, manufactured, or cast by ineligible or deceased voters. Only a party engaged in wrongdoing would unlawfully keep observers out of the count room – and then fight in court to block their access.

“So what is Biden hiding? I will not rest until the American People have the honest vote count they deserve and that Democracy demands.”

Well, troubles abound in Michigan, one of the states that "mysteriously" switched from Trump to Biden.  First, we have the account of a ballot-count watcher, who witnessed two vehicles pull up and unload approximately 130,000 ballots.  They were all for Biden.  Every one of them was legitimately for Biden, and none for Trump?  No, that is a statistical impossiblility.  Go to that link and watch the video that the ballot-watcher took with her phone.

They also had, uh, "technical difficulties" with their voting machines.  The machines were run with software from Dominion Voting Systems.  It was discovered in Antrim County, and the votes had to be manually re-counted.  Thus, a county called for Biden, after a proper recount, went to Trump.

We can expect to see similar scenarios throughout the country, particularly in swing states.

 And just how, oh how, did Dominion Software come to be such a dominant feature in the tallying of US votes?  Why, from connections in high places, of course - and that includes connections to Nancy Pelosi herself.  But that's just a coincidence, right?  My, such a small world!  By the way - Detroit election officials were caught red-handed blocking the ballot-counting from legal observers; someone is obviously displeased he was caught on camera!

With all this coming to light, the progressives are rushing to declare Biden the victor, so any more irregularities discovered by Trump's team will look like he's tampering with the election (when he's merely exposing Democrat chicanery).  The AP today "called" the election for Biden, as did Fox News.  Many, including some easily duped conservatives, glommed onto these baseless pronouncements as though they were gospel-truth.  News flash!  The media does not have legal authority to make any official declarations regarding an election's outcome!  That should be obvious to someone with a basic knowledge of civics, but perhaps this is why public schools stopped teaching civics several decades ago.

Joining in this effort to do an "end-run" around the exposure of Democratic corruption is none other than the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.  They have imperiously declared that Biden has enough votes and that he is the legitimate president-elect.  Nothing could be further from the truth - well, I take that back.  The USCCB, in that same declaration, claim that Biden is a "practicing Catholic".  Since when is an unabashed cheerleader for baby-slaughter and sexual perversions a "practicing Catholic"?  Is it because that is how many of them "practice Catholicism"?  They posted this pronouncement on their facebook page and received many well-deserved rebukes and denunciations.  Remember that when they try their annual shakedown for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.

In the meantime, pray your rosaries.  Storm heaven that God have mercy on this country and that the large-scale deceptions be exposed and the real winner soon declared.

CCHD Helping To Foment Riots

Now that all the thugs and hoodlums have returned to their mommies' basements (or converged on Seattle) and the cleanup has begun, let us take a hard look at a cabal that seems to have taken the lead in organizing these riots.  And yes, they were organized and fomented.  We turn our attention to a bunch called Black Lives Matter.

They are an organization, with their own website.  Please take a look at what they believe, in their own words.  Their beliefs are (in their own words):

• "all black lives matter, regardless of actual or perceived sexual identity"  Here they made quite the Freudian slip, differentiating between "actual" and "perceived", they admit that "perceived" can be a denial of reality
• "dismantle cis-gender privilege" 
• "disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure"  The welfare state beat them to that.  Anyone with a scintillia of common sense understands that children without their fathers in the home are more likely to live in poverty, fall into crime, etc.
• "queer-affirming network"

There is no mention at all of addressing the real problems of impovershed people (and not just black): high crime, dependence on government, denigration of marriage, drugs, etc.  In fact, some of those so-called "beliefs" and "goals" would only exacerbate their problems.

If you detect a bit of put-down of men in reading their beliefs, you are not imaging things.  BLM was founded by three feminists.  IMHO, no self-respecting man can go along with this crap or he will earn the title "hen-pecked".

Mass Resistance has some more history on this outfit, worth a read.  They delve more into the sordid alliances in which BLM is embroiled.  All these progressive organizations intertwine with each other.  We see that addressed in this LifeSiteNew article.  Regrettably, one of those "social justice grifters" is the US Catholic hierarchy.  Didn't we see that made manifest by the disgraceful actions of the archbishop of Washington DC?  Check out my three previous posts.

A key goal of the BLM crowd is the abolition of local police departments.  Sadly, some liberal loony politicians are glomming onto this; the Minneapolis City Council and NYC Mayor DiBlasion come immediately to mind.  So just who do these politicians think they will call, should someone be breaking into their homes?

Michael Hichborn of Lepanto now brings us the revelation that another arm of the US Catholic hierchy is aiding and abetting the BLM ilk, particularly in finances.  Yes, it's the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD).  He has gathered and presented evidence that CCHD is funding organizations calling for the killing of police officers and fomenting riots just as we saw last week.  Doing some quick arithmetic as I read through the artilce, riot-fomenting groups have received a total of over $1M of Catholic dollars.  Several people have been murdered in last week's riots, some precisely because they were police officers.  The money that CCHD sent to these violent groups implicates them in those murders.  The CCHD has blood on its hands.  Moreover, anyone who contributes to the CCHD, with knowledge of these donations, also must answer for the mayhem and murder of these past few days.

It will do no good to ask CCHD to reconsider their grant practices.  They were founded by allies of Saul Alinsky for the express purpose of diverting Catholic dollars to seditious and atheistic organizations.  We simply must stop giving to CCHD.  I stopped decades ago.  This CCHD beast needs to be starved of cash.

Some Root Causes Of The Church's Current Malaise

I'd suggest taking the time to watch this.  Please see below for comments.



Hichborn ends with some suggestions to combat these evils.  With all due respect, his list is somewhat lacking, in my opinion.  Yes, the Mass, Rosary, Scapular, prayer, etc are absolutely crucial, but by themselves they are wholly inadequate.  Hichborn is focusing on actions that one can take within the relatively safe confines of the Church and home.

But we must actually confront the evil head-on, where it occurs.  That goes for each and every one of us - no exceptions whatsoever.  We are going to have to get some dirt under our fingernails.  We must face the fact that when we speak out, we will be tossed out of Church roles and positions, we will be pilloried, we will be shunned as "rad-trad nuts" or what-have-you.

One key action that we can all take is to boycott some of the second collections that are foisted upon all US dioceses.  Four that come to mind are:

1. The Catholic Campaign for Human Development collection
2. The Catholic Relief Services collection
3. The Catholic Charities collection
4. The Peter's Pence collection

There is much information regarding these organizations on this blog and other sites (including Lepanto).  Please, in your collection envelopes, let the parish know why there is no money therein and sign your names.  Take a public, non-anonymous stand.

If dissidents are being honored at Catholic venues in your area, raise a firm but polite protest with the venue and your bishop.  Should your communications be unheeded, picket the events.  Again, we must make public stands.  We must make the malefactors uncomfortable in their dissidence.  That requires a willingness on our part to step out of our own comfort zones.

Marshall And Hichborn On Social Justice Hoax And What You Can Do About It

Michael Hichborn has done extensive research over the years regarding "social justice" in the Catholic Church and the dangers that it poses to the eternal salvation of countless souls.  My Catholic Media Coalition colleague, Stephanie Block, also has done similar research; in fact, Hichborn acknowledges her contributions at the 31-minute mark of the video below.

In this video, Taylor Marshall interviews Hichborn regarding the shams that are the three main vehicles of this so-called "social justice".  They are: Catholic Campaign for Human Development, Catholic Relief Services, and Catholic Charities.  While the video is long, I think it worth your while to listen closely to the whole thing.  We are obliged to inform ourselves of these matters, and we simply must invest the time to do so.

A word to Catholics in the Archdiocese of Washington.  I now link to the schedule for the second collections in 2019.  Please note these three approaching collections:

• May 12 - Catholic Relief Services.  For reasons discussed in this video, and many more, this (and the on-going Rice Bowl collection) must be boycotted. 
• June 23 - Peter's Pence.  In light of recent revelations regarding the stench that is in the Vatican, we dare not feed the corruption with our hard-earned dollars.
• August 4 - Catholic Campaign for Human Development.  Hichborn mentioned in the video that they try to disguise this collection.  That's why they call it "Catholic Communications and Human Development?.  Whom do they think they are fooling?

Very soon I will give some practical suggestions on notes to put into the envelopes, etc.  For now, please pay close attention to this video and spread this around.  Thank you.

More Damage Control From The Archdiocese Of Baltimore

Remember how, in the DC archdiocese, the geniuses in that office thought that we'd be fooled if the Campaign for Human Development second collection was renamed "Communications and Human Development Campaign" (or something to that effect)?  Not too many people were fooled by that charade.  The Archdiocese of Baltimore did not learn from that mistake.

They are renaming their "Archbishop's Annual Appeal" collection to "Annual Appeal for Catholic Ministries".  Of course we aren't learning this from the Catholic Review, but the Baltimore Sun.  Supposedly we are to be fooled into thinking that none of the money will be going towards the sex scandals but only to the various ministries of the archdiocese.  Well, not quite, and to understand why, we need to take a look at the concept of fungibility, particularly as it is used in non-profit budgeting.

Here is an article that explains the concept well.  Applied to this Archdiocesan situation, funds earmarked for "Catholic ministries" could well free up other funds to be used elsewhere in the budget - such as sinking funds for anticipated legal expenses.  Michael Hichborn did a video that explains how Planned Parenthood uses fungibiity in relation to government grants.  My advise is this: don't give one red penny to any archdiocesan collection, for at least some portion of it will go to where it shouldn't.  Instead, send your money directly to worthwhile charities.

Back to the Sun article.  Notice how the archdiocese is trying to reassure the Catholics that sex abuse matters are paid out of an insurance trust that was set up?  Well, that's nice, but... who pays the premiums?  And aren't those premiums most likely going through the roof now?  What kind of dunces do these people think we are?

Apparently some of them think we're stupid enough to believe that "music can unite the faithful" - at least according to one "music minister" in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.  His name is Zachary Stachowski, working at St Ignatius of Loyola in Ijamsville MD.  He wrote a song after the abuse crisis jumped in our faces again and that is the subject of that interview.  Apparently the song is being used quite widely.  I wonder how much he may be garnering in royalties?  I have no problem with that, for the song is his intellectual property.  The premise that "music can unite the faithful" is simply a bunch of hooey, though.  Authentic unity can come about only when all accept the teachings of Jesus Christ as revealed through Holy Mother Church.  Along those lines, Stachowski seems to be keeping company with some who blatantly oppose those teachings.

One of his buddies is David Haas - yes, him.  According to his twitter page, he and Haas teamed up to do a "singing workshop" at that heretical hootenanny known as the LA Religious Education Conference.  See here and here for a flavor of what goes on there.  While I know little else of Stachowski, what I do know leads me to question just what he thinks "unity" is.

I have made it a point to skip all archdiocesan collections and to plan my parish donations so that they aren't assessed by the Archdiocese of Washington.  I certainly suggest to my Baltimore friends that they do the same, and those in many other areas of the country should do likewise.

Time To #Sayno2cchd

Now that the elections are behind us, it's time to take note of that annual in-pew shake-down known as the CCHD collection.  Most dioceses have these collections during a November week-end.  I won't rehash the whole sordid history of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development but will remind you that it was created with the intention of conning faithful Catholics into donating to organizations that actively promote anti-God agendas.

Many years ago, the CCHD was a major contributor to ACORN.  When the various scandals revolving around ACORN were made public, the USCCB promised reforms in the ways that CCHD determined its grants.  Not too surprisingly, we discovered that those "reforms" were just smoke and mirrors; no meaningful reforms were enacted at all. 

A few days ago, Lepanto Institute published their research that shows that CCHD is currently giving $280k to organizations that actively promote abortion and "LGBT" rights.  I cannot say they are back to their old tricks for I do not believe they ever paused in their chicanery. 

When the collection for CCHD occurs in your parishes, I'd suggest not only denying CCHD any money, but making it quite clear to them why you are doing so.  At the bottom of this post is a note that you can use to drop in your CCHD collection plate - or draft one of your own.  Just #sayno2cchd this year.

DC Area Catholics, Get Ready To Take Action This Weekend!

Catholics of the Archdiocese of Washington, it is absolutely incumbent upon each and every one of us - no exceptions - to boycott the second collection this weekend!  It is the annual collection for that snake-in-the-grass organization known as the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (and don't let their cute name mutation deceive you).  The CCHD is evil in and of itself, but now we have additional reason to withhold our money.  You have seen this week the reasons why our dioceses must feel our "power of the purse" for their wanton diversion of funds to pay off the settlements for our pervert prelates.  We will not drop one penny in the diocesan coffers until they repent of facilitating McCarrick's disgraceful conduct.  Cardinal Wuerl, present archbishop of Washington, has been implicated in multiple coverups - not only of McCarrick but quite a few pervert priests during his time in Pittsburgh.  This chancery needs to be starved until all filth is purged from it.

Last Sunday I posted an envelope stuffer that you can put in your CCHD envelope; drop that in the basket instead of money.  It is important that the clergy know exactly why their collection intake is less than what they expected.  With this flyer (or your own note), you'll be exercising the Spiritual Works of Mercy such as: rebuking the sinner, educating the ignorant.

I'm now posting yesterday's episode of the World Over.  The discussion revolves around the bishop sex abuse scandal AND the pope's attempt to mutate Church teaching on the death penalty.  Some have been erroneously claiming that this teaching change is meant to divert our attention from the bishop sex scandal.  Maybe - or maybe it's the other way around.  Perhaps the bishop abuse thing was allowed to break to provide cover for this attempt to undermine the understanding that Church teaching is immutable because God, the source of that teaching, is Himself immutable.  Interestingly enough, even gay activists understand the implications of this dangerous precedent that the pope is attempting to establish.  After all, if Church teaching on the death penalty can change, why not other teachings - for example, teachings on homosexuality?  From their evil perspective, they understand it, as evidenced by this New Ways article.

CCHD And CRS Never Fail To Fail

The Lepanto Institute and other Catholic investigators have been shining the light on the Catholic Campaign for Human Development for years.  Since its inception the CCHD has been bilking donations from unsuspecting Catholics and diverting those funds to organizations that are pro-abortion, pro-sodomite, anti-God, anti-morality.  Just put "CCHD" into the search box at the top left of this blog for an entire litany of their misbehaviors.

But it turns out that such anti-life funding isn't all that the CCHD has done with donation dollars.  Some readers might be inclined to wonder, "What?  You mean they actually do some scintilla of good with our donations?"  Oh, don't be silly!  It turns out that some of their funds are earmarked for bribery.

That's what Lepanto Institute revealed last week.  The CCHD offered them hush money; that is, if Lepanto scuttled its reporting on CCHD, why, CCHD just might give Lepanto a "grant"!  How special!

Hichborn turned them down.  But doesn't it make you wonder how many other bribe recipients didn't turn down some easy cash?  How many bishops or other grant recipients looked the other way as their palms were greased?  While we don't know the answer to that yet, we can be fairly certain that the number isn't zero.

Speaking of Lepanto and USCCB-controlled cash spigots, let's look at what they revealed about Catholic Relief Services and their attempt to mangle the season of Advent to make it a tool in shilling for illegal immigration.  Not only do they make a travesty of Advent, but they publicly wallow in their gross ignorance of Scripture and the Infancy Narratives.  You'll notice in that box that O'Keefe makes the ludicrous claim that the Holy Family "fled" to Bethlehem.  No, they were compelled to go there to be counted for census and taxing purposes; the Gospel of Luke states that quite explicitly.  But it sounds so "pastoral" to create this dishonest linkage with illegal immigration.  Now think about it; if the only way they can justify their enabling of those who violate our laws is to lie about the Scriptures, doesn't that indicate that they have no moral/intellectual basis for their positions?

These are just two more reasons why the CRS, CCHD and anything affiliated with the USCCB should not receive one penny from faithful Catholics.  More reasons will make themselves apparent in the next several months, I'm sure.

Use Alinsky Bucks To Say #no2CCHD

For most dioceses across the nation, November is the time when the annual CCHD shakedown will occur during the second collections.  As one might expect, the CCHD continues to divert Catholic dollars to organizations that are part and parcel of the culture of death.  There is no reforming that monster.  The Catholic Campaign for Human Development, along with the even more monstrous United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, must be consigned to the dung heap of infamous history.

Evil Hates To Be Exposed - Especially When It Controls The Church Hierarchy

Please read the title closely.  I believe that evil now controls the hierarchy of the Church, not the Church herself.  There is a difference.  However, that evil can and is causing much scandal and confusion that is literally causing damnation of souls.  Therefore, we must continue to shine the light on it, no matter where it resides.  Of course evil will hate to be exposed; it always has.  We must not shirk from that task now, out of misguided deference to the Church structures behind which the evil conceals itself.

Remnant TV hosted the Catholic Identity Conference this week.  Below I'm posting a talk from it by Edward Pentin.  He talks of the climate of fear that now exists in the Vatican - one that is very reminiscent of the climate that existed in the Soviet Union and that still exists in other repressive regimes.  Below that I'll have more commentary and an important action to take.



As I mentioned in the earlier post, the USCCB is obviously taking instructions from the Vatican (a novelty for them, for they certainly didn't do so during the previous two pontificates) as evidenced by their dismissal of Father Weinandy.  The faithful laity, by the grace of God, are calling them on the carpet.  See here and here.  LifeSiteNews started a petition drive, not so much as to persuade the USCCB to change their ways but to show public support for Father Weinandy.  Please sign it.  Besides prayer, we can influence the USCCB by withholding donations from any second-collection effort for them or their subsidiaries: most notably the Catholic Campaign for Human Development and Catholic Relief Services.

New Pro Life Movement = Seamless Garment Regurgitation

Michael Hichborn, formerly of American Life League, runs a site called Lepantoinstitute.org.  It is a well-run site that is quite informative and faithful to Catholic teaching.  Recently he ran an article regarding the attempts by John Carr to insinuate himself into the pro-life movement.  Recall that while he was at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Carr oversaw the office that was in charge of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.  He did absolutely nothing to address the scandals regarding that collection.

The main focus of this article is not John Carr.  We are looking at the attempts of others to couple the pro-life movement with the now-discredited “seamless garment” theory that was championed by the late Cardinal Joseph Bernardin.  In his article, Hichborn made mention of a series of articles found in the summer edition of Human Life Review.  Here is the site for your perusal   Many of the authors understand the perils of the seamless garment theory under its many disguises.  Among them, Ann Hendershott, Kevin Williamson and Kristin Hawkins see the danger of diluting our focus on ending baby-killing.  On the other hand, there are people like Aimee Murphy, director of Rehumanize International.  I previously did some research on this group and found them to be at serious variance with Catholic moral teaching.   Their “new media coordinator” supports homosexual conduct and may herself be embroiled in that sin.  Murphy herself evinced racism as she supported the violent “Black Lives Matter” on her facebook page.

But the seamless garment poses an even greater threat to the authentic pro-life cause than mere dilution.  In many, if not most, cases, its adherents ascribe to “seamless garment” tenets moral authority that belongs only to those matters to which the Church has placed special emphasis: abortion, contraception, euthanasia, homosexual conduct, abuse of embryos.  Even worse, some “seamless garment” adherents will go so far as to transgress against the Church’s teachings on the aforementioned intrinsic evils in order to promote the progressive positions on lesser matters (such as immigration or capital punishment).  We’ll now expound on these threats.

Some of the articles made mention of a group that dubs itself the “The New Pro-life Movement” – rather pretentious, that!  Its site is thenewprolifemovement.com .   Right on its homepage we see a problem.   John Cavanaugh-O’Keefe was a highly-respected pro-life leader approximately 25 years ago.  He helped spearhead the clinic rescue aspect of the movement.  Recently, some seamless garment pet causes – in his case, amnesty for illegal immigrants – clouded his perspective to the extent that he supported the unapologetically pro-abortion Hillary Clinton during the last presidential election.  I won’t go into the evils of that or this article would take up the entire magazine.  Look at the “contributors” page.  One of the other contributors is Rebecca Bratten Weiss.  Rather than go into another lengthy explanation, I refer you to this piece by LifeSiteNews. 

Let’s look at its “organizations we support” page.  We see listed “Obria Medical Clinics”.  Going to that site, we see their page on abortion.  While they don’t speak glowingly of abortion, they think that it could be “the right choice” for someone.  What???   They seem to be fine with contraception.  Another supported organization is “All Our Lives”.  Not only is it “informed” by the “consistent life ethic”, but also “the reproductive justice movement”.  They advocate for gay rights.

This “new pro-life movement” organization is not unique in having serious moral problems.  We’ve always known that those enamored with the “seamless garment” have flirted either with mortal sins themselves or have allied themselves with others embroiled in those sins.  An example of that was brought to my attention during the controversies over DACA.  A friend of mine, perhaps in an attempt to justify amnesty for Illegal aliens, posted an article about a priest in Georgia, Fr. Rey Pineda, who is himself an illegal alien.  To bring his “plight” to national attention, he relayed his story to Senator Dick Durbin, who then took it to the Senate floor last November.  Of course Durbin did this while advocating for illegal amnesty.  Dick Durbin’s name recently came up during Senate judicial hearings, when he and Senator Dianne Feinstein grilled judicial nominee Amy Coney Barrett regarding her Catholic faith, mocking her in the process.  So on the one hand, Dick Durbin (a “Catholic” who has always been pro-abortion) takes up Fr. Pineda’s case for his own end, but on the other hand he openly takes aim at a judicial nominee for living out her Catholic faith.  Pineda, a priest, lent moral credibility to a politician who displays anti-Catholic bigotry in order to facilitate his own sinful disregard for his host nation’s laws.  This is just another instance of moral compromise when Catholics get entangled in the seamless garment embrace of progressive causes.

The gains that the pro-life movement has made in recent years have been due in large measure to the movement’s laser-like focus on defending innocent life and the sanctity of marriage.  We are soon coming up on the centennial anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun that culminated Our Lady of Fatima’s appearances to the three children.  During these apparitions, she warned the children that the leading cause of souls going to hell was sins of the flesh.  Let us focus on eradicating these sins and not allow other matters disguising themselves as “social justice issues” to distract us and even seduce us to sin.
