Mayor Bloomberg's War On Mothers - New Front

Mayor Bloomberg of New York is taking Nanny State to the next level.  He is trying to foist breast-feeding (as opposed to bottle-feeding) on NYC mothers via his "Latch On NYC Initiative".  It's "voluntary" for hospitals now, but probably won't be so "voluntary" in the future.  So far 27 of the city's 40 hospitals have glommed onto the nonsense.

Now moms won't be denied formula, but they'll have to ask for it - and it won't be given to them without having the reason for the dispensing medically documented (I hope the infants' hunger is a medically valid reason for these Formula Police).  What will also be dispensed to the recalcitrant mother - with every bottle - is a lecture from a hospital staff person on the evils of bottles and the goodness of breasts!  Boys and girls, can we all say "brow-beating"?

Of course they're doing this "for the children", you see?  Never mind that this crap is coming from a typical pro-abortion politician who is totally in favor of a baby being brutally murdered before birth.  But should that child be so fortunate as to make it out of his/her mother's womb in one piece, then Bloomberg will take that hapless child into his clutches.

Not only does Nanny Bloomy tell Mom and Dad that they can't eat trans-fats or drink Big Gulps, he tells the poor little tyke how he/she must eat!  Is it really the role of a city mayor to tell moms how to feed their children?  When it comes to murdering the children, it's "between a woman and her doctor".  But with anything else, the Nanny State interjects its big bazzoo!  Did you ever think you'd see the day when Similac and Emfamil would be treated like morphine?

NYC residents, don't you think it's time to retire Bloomberg?  Why, oh why, do you put up with this nonsense?  For us Maryland folks, we'd better keep our eyes on our own legislative fools - that goes double for the ones who prowl the Montgomery County offices in Rockville.

Food Police Tell Us To "Adjust Our Taste Buds"

They're not even trying to disguise their control-freak, dictatorial proclivities anymore!  US Dept of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack told the National Restaurant Association that Americans (that's you and me, folks) "need to adjust our taste buds" to eat the foods the Nanny State deems healthy for us.  Hear the clip for yourselves at CNSnews.com.

Some choice snippets:

"It's going to take time for people's taste to adjust and they will adjust over time" (emphasis mine).  Got that?  Try that logic in other scenarios.  Substitute the word "taste" for other things like "religion", "thinking", "way of living", etc. 

"At the end of the day, though, we've got to deal with this."  Mr Secretary, sez who???   Who in sam hill do these progressive bureaucrats think they are to tell us what we'll "deal with" and how to "adjust our tastes"?  Boys and girls, can we say "Sieg heil!"?

Uh-oh!  I'd better be careful - lest the little hitler-esque gnomes report me to Attack Watch!

More Thoughts On The Food Police

Look at that video that I posted on Friday with Elmo.  Notice the title?  "Elmo Doesn't Fear Obama's School Lunch".   Odd, isn't it?  Perhaps they're telling us more than they realize - the proverbial "Freudian slip", as it were.

First, there's "Elmo doesn't fear".  Doesn't it seem like they're trying to quell our instinctive revulsion to interference from On High?  This is quite characteristic of any entity that is trying to exert undue force or coercion on another - disarm their natural protective instincts by subtly making the victim feel silly for having reactions of fear - fear that has very real basis.  It's a brainwashing, thought-reform technique.

Then there's "Obama's school lunch".  Where to begin with that one?  Let's just start anywhere.

• We have here the bald-faced admission that this attempt at control originated with the Messiah Most Miserable himself.  This is his program, and you Great Unwashed better fall in line - right now!  Will the lunch trays now bear that "O" symbol on them?
• Obama claims to be the President of the United States.  As far as I'm concerned, there is the teensy matter of his birth status that has yet to be resolved, but that's fodder for another post.  At any rate, if he is indeed president, then the US Constitution clearly spells out the duties that are within his purview.  I've read the Constitution.  I've looked up and down, right and left, front and back, and I can see no mention whatsoever of any authority of the President to determine the diets of anyone in the United States.  But the video clearly states "Obama's school lunch".  The White House produced this thing - courtesy of your tax dollars, hard at work!

Whether or not we fear Obama's lunch or not, why must our school children eat it?  What is to be feared and yes, hated and resisted, is this shameless attempt of Big Brother, Nanny-State, Nazi-wannabee Government to bust its big bazoo into our personal lives and take dominion over us.  This crap about being concerned "for the children" is a flimsy, shallow excuse through which most school children can see, "Elmo's" little schtick not withstanding.

Fat-Police-Nazis Agents Strike In Baltimore

Remember yesterday's post, where I said we'd better watch out for the Fat Police soon to come our way?  My bad!  They're already here!  In October, the Baltimore City Health Department issued its first "environmental citation for repeat violation".  The hapless violator is ironically named "Healthy Choice".   They've been slapped with a $100 fine and were told that another violation could result in their being shut down.

That's right - shut down!  That means years of hard work and life savings put into a venture can go up in smoke because of an artificially-contrived standard that itself is  in complete violation of the United States Constitution.  What have we come to, in this country?  Yet there are a gazillion of these progressive lemmings in what is laughingly referred to as "The Free State" waxing gleeful and self-righteous about this ever-increasing governmental encroachment into our lives. 

And, as we see in the previous post, they progressives/socialists, led by their Poster Couple, want more!

Boys and girls, can we all say "Sieg Heil!" ?

Michelle Obama - "Obese Children...National Security Issue"

A week or so ago, we heard Janet Napolitano tell us that "climate change" is a national security threat.  Well, since that fad has died its quick death, we have a new security threat!  Are you biting your fingernails yet?  Well, here it is, from Mrs Messiah herself!  Click here if you can't see embedded video.



She, of course, is talking of the so-called "Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act".  She claims that obesity is a "national security threat" because supposedly recruits are coming in overweight.  Michelle, what else is new?  One of the purposes of basic training is to get the recruits in shape.  That's how it's always been - that is, until training standards were dumbed down so that women, etc could "pass".

She also claims this bill will "save lives".  My, my!  She shares her husband's messianic delusions of grandeur.  As he looks on, he must be jealous of her since she is obviously not dependent on a teleprompter - but I digress!  Now note, on the video, at the 1:40 marker, where she states "we can't just leave it up to the parents".  Oh, yes we can.  And we accomplish that by getting rid of the structures and bureaucracies that subvert and undermine parental authority and perogative in their children's lives.  Do we hear the nanny-socialist state rattling its saber here?  Watch out for the "fat police" coming our way!

You did notice, of course, that there's none of that nasty red meat, right?  Well, maybe after that school subverts Elmo's parents and feeds him a politically-correct diet, they can teach him proper language skills so that the poor little thing no longer speaks of himself in the third person.

Before any snide progressives snipe at me for belittling the Obamas' "concern for children", remember that they are both rabidly pro-abortion.  Recall all that talk of "future promise" in the first video?  Well, what we see now is only 66% of the "promise" that God sent, as 1/3 of unborn children are murdered in their mothers' wombs - murders that the Obamas have worked hard to facilitate!

Have you ever wondered how it is that the same pro-abortion crowd who loudly proclaim "keep your laws off my body!" as they murder helpless children have absolutely no compunction whatsoever about barging into our kitchens, living rooms and cars to dictate what we'll eat and how we'll drive?  One big answer is relatively simple.  They think by waxing self-righteous on relatively trivial matters, that they can somehow assuage their consciences that have been seared by their sexual immorality and advocacy of legalized murder of helpless children.

Boys and girls, can we all say the word "pharisee"?  Phariseeim is NOT the following of the law to the letter, as so many liberals would have us believe.  It is the attempt to substitute man-made traditions for  God's law.  Want proof?  Read  Mark 7:1-9.

We even see that in many of the Church's "social justice" crusades who both crusade for the poor (a good in and of itself) while at the same time advocating dissent from the Magisterium's key teachings and/or celebrating those who do dissent.  A great "case-in-point" is the Catholic Charities Centenial Celebration that ends tonight; I've posted details in a previous post.  Another dismal sign of that is the so-called Just Faith program that has infested way too many parishes in the Archdiocese of Washington.  Jack Jesreel, its founder, openly brags how his so-called "ministry" has influenced Catholics to "crusade" for women's ordination and gay rights.
